Compton rap star The Game was released from prison today (March 10), after serving eight days out of the 60 of his sentence according to published reports.

According to his lawyer Shawn Chapman Holley, The Game left the Twin Towers Correctional Facility this morning.

The rapper surrendered to authorities on March 2, after he pleaded no contest to a felony charge of gun possession in a school zone in February, after he was accused of pointing a gun at another man during an argument after a game of basketball in Los Angeles.

The Game, born Jayceon Taylor, was also sentenced to 150 hours of community service and three years probation.

The rapper is currently working on his latest album LAX, which will feature production from Scott Storch, Dr. Dre and others.
