Snoop Dogg recently revealed that he has given

up two of the things he frequently rapped about- smoking weed and drinking liquor.

The Long Beach –bred rapper, who won High Time’s Stoner Of The Year award

this year, said that he has been sober for almost a month now and plans on sticking

with it.

"Drugs cloud your vision," Snoop told

AllHipHop.com. "I was having fun when I was getting high. Don’t regret

none of the times I was on it. That was me, Snoop Dogg: Stoner of the Year.

Don’t give a f*ck. That’s how I did that."

Snoop wrote weed and alcohol induced songs from

The Chronic and others like "Gin & Juice" and was often

visibly high in interviews and other public appearances. Last October, the multifaceted

entertainer was arrested in Ohio, when state troopers found marijuana after

stopping his tour bus in a Cleveland. He pleaded no contest earlier this year.

But, those days are behind the rapper, he said.

Snoop confessed that he has abstained from the drugs because his wife, children

and emerging stable of artists depend on him to be a shrewd businessman, husband

and father. "I said ‘Let me stop smoking dope so I can get a better vision

of myself, see who I am and what I mean to the world. What I mean to my kids

and what I mean to life in general’."

While admitting that he had fun doing drugs,

the 30-year-old entertainer confessed to contradicting himself throughout his

illustrious career. "I used to do public service announcements and tell

the kids, ‘Say no to drugs” and high as f*ck – very hypocritical.

That’s one thing my momma always told me, ‘If you gonna do something,

baby, mean it. Do not be hypocritical. Do not say, “Don’t do this

and you turn around and do the same thing.’ I took that to heart."

With his new sobriety, Snoop said he is able

to better manage his variety of business endeavors. He recently signed his Doggystyle

imprint with MCA and recently released Snoop Dogg: Doggy Style Allstars Vol.

1. His clothing line, Snoop Dogg Clothing is expected to rake in over $40

million dollars this year.

“A n*gga is keen right now – sharp,"

Snoop concluded.
