(AllHipHop News) Cash Money Records has announced the signing of their latest artist, Young Greatness.
The New Orleans-based rapper hit big with his 2016 hit single, “Moolah,” which has been certified gold.
It has been a long road for Young Greatness, who also built a buzz with his 2015 mixtape “I Tried To Tell Em” and 2016’s “I Tried To Tell Em 2.”
Before he hit big as a rapper, Young Greatness was an NFL prospect, who also survived the devastation Hurricane Katrina brought upon New Orleans.
“I always wanted to attach myself to Cash Money,” Young Greatness said. “That was a dream of mine that I would even put into my raps back in the day. I built this up, and now I know that ‘Birdman’ and ‘Slim’ are going to take it to the next level. Together, we can bring New Orleans to the forefront of the culture.”
The rapper just unveiled his first single on Cash Money Records called “We Rollin’,” which was produced by Drumma Boy.
“The first time I heard him, I knew he was going to be big,” adds Cash Money Records Co-Founder and Chief Executive Bryan “Birdman” Williams aka Baby. “He’s got a grasp on melody that few artists have. It’s the sound of the future.”
According Cash Money’s Co-Founder Ronald “Slim” Williams, the label has been eyeing Young Greatness since his breakout successes.
“He represents the next era of New Orleans superstars, and we’re honored to welcome him to the family. Together, we’re going make history for our hometown,” Slim said.
