Family Of John Crawford Files Wrongful Death Lawsuit

Although video footage appears to contradict the stories of the authorities regarding the death of John Crawford, a grand jury decided not to bring charges against the officers. Now the family of Crawford, who was shot while walking around Walmart with a BB gun he picked up in jest, has filed a negligent death lawsuit and accused the Beavercreek Walmart of leaving the toy gun laying open on an unlocked shelf for days.

Authorities have also faced criticism, after it was revealed that they had roughed up the fiance of Crawford directly after he was killed.

According to the family’s lawyers, “[Walmart] had every reason to know that someone might mistake a BB gun for a real gun. That gun was not secured like other weapons. … This gun was left unpackaged on a shelf, and in our understanding, it was left there for two days.

New Report Suggests Ferguson Witness Lied During Investigation

More questions have arisen, as details continue to emerge following a grand jury’s decision not to indict former Officer Darren Wilson in relation to the murder of unarmed teen Michael Brown. As a federal investigation continues, The Smoking Gun has uncovered information which suggests that one of the key eyewitnesses lied during her testimony.

Sandra McElroy, revealed to be “Witness 40”, told the grand jury  that Brown had “battered Wilson then rushed the cop like a defensive end,” a talking point which was later picked up by a number of publications including Fox News. Ironically however, it has been discovered that McElroy was not even in the vicinity during the shooting.

Shortly after the grand jury verdict she posted a picture of the crime scene with a caption that read “Michael Brown already received justice. So please stop asking for it.” Even more disturbing is the fact that she has admitted to being bipolar yet admits she doesn’t take medication to regulate the mental illness.

On December 16 Rev. Al Sharpton claimed the report provided the Brown family with additional hope. “[It’s] not a fair process” Sharpton told the New York Daily News.

Russell Simmons Breaks New Ground in Hip-Hop with "Open Heart Surgery"

When Hip-Hop mogul Russell Simmons announced his All Def Digital YouTube channel in the summer of 2013, he said in a press release, “I’ve worked my entire professional life to promote up-and-coming talent and the new art forms they create … YouTube will benefit from having a network that reflects the incredible diversity of the new America.”

There is no artist better fit for that platform than Lazarus.  He is a Detroit emcee of Pakistan ethnicity who is also a practicing physician.  And that alone is unheard of.  But even more importantly,

Laz is just one example of  the potential that Hip-Hop has yet to tap into as a result of all the diversity that the new America provides.  Therefore, it’s not surprising that he caught the attention of All Def Digital and even Mr. Simmons himself.

With Lazarus’ latest clip, “Open Heart Surgery,” which Russell put up today, he and Bizarre (of D12) prove that Hip-Hop credibility and a successful higher education are not mutually exclusive.  In fact, they’re two things that empower each other more than anyone ever could’ve thought.

Respect due for challenging the status quo, instead of reinforcing it.

Big Sean visited the Breakfast Club and got tripled teamed by Angela Yee, Charlamagne Tha God and DJ Envy.

Contrary to what the masses thought, Sean says that “IDFWU” was written while he was still with his ex-fiancee Naya Rivera.

“I vividly remember playing it for that person,” said the D-Town native. “It wasn’t no diss song.” He says that after they had their nasty breakup, he went back and tweaked the lyrics a little bit.

The G.O.O.D Music spitter also spoke about how he met his current bae, Ariana Grande.

“I met her a few years ago at Wango Tango. When I met her it was just cool. She was like ‘I like your music’ and she knew “Gang Bang,” she was like rapping “Gang Bang,” he smiled. “She brings out the best in me.”

Sean says that for his next album, which he says is coming soon, listeners can expect it to have a dark aura to it.

“It’s kinda just a time capsule of my whole life in the last year. So you can just imagine all the things I’ve been through. It’s all gon’ make sense when I drop the album, when I drop the title.”
