Slowbucks Is Investigating 50 Cent & Others For Summer Jam Incident

(AllHipHop News) Slowbucks is not taken getting his chain snatched in front of 55,000 people lightly. Today (June 5th) at Bostany Law Firm, Slowbucks and Civil Investigator John P Bostany outline their plan to investigate 50 Cent and others allegedly involved in his :

According to Civil Investgator John P Bostany, he is conducting an investigation on multiple parties involved in assault and chain theft of Slowbucks over the claim of brand dilution. While there is no lawsuit currently in place, Bostany alleges that the motivation for the action was to stop Slowbucks’ brand from being competition:

They know he is the founder of Slowbucks, the #1 urban brand on the rise today. They want to hurt that brand and they are trying to hurt that brand we are going to put and end to that. We’re here, I’m a Trademark attorney, I’m a copyright attorney and I fight unfair competition.

Bostany states that 50 Cent lied to Angie Martinez last night (June 4th) during his interview that he had no knowledge of an assault and robbery taking place. According to Bostany, the proof is in the footage:

I looked at the videos and I heard 50’s interview on [Hot] 97 by Angie, who did an excellent job. Questioning him and I heard his responses and his demeanor. If you look at him he says ‘oh I was looking at the crowd.’ I didn’t know what was going on behind me. I  was happy that day.’ But if you look at him when he’s telling that story, he doesn’t look happy. He doesn’t look like he want to talk about it. If you look at the videos, every single one, whether he’s the one picking up the chain or not is irrelevant. His body is facing what’s going on and the he turns around, in the middle of it all, and faces the crowd.

While Bostany does not state an exact financial compensation he is seeking for this potential legal action says Slowbucks is taking this route in order to send a message:

He had the courage and the strength to come here and remind everyone that no matter how rich or powerful some might become, how popular they may be, they still are not above the law.

EXCLUSIVE: Danielle Fishel Talks "Boy Meets World", Racism in The NBA + MORE (VIDEO)

(AllHipHop News) A prominent motif of Ibrahim and Omar Ashmawey’s Boiling Pot film is the idea of guilt due to noninvolvement. In the SECOND part of AllHipHop’s EXCLUSIVE interview with Girl Meets World‘s Danielle Fishel, she discusses how Boy Meets World  handled race, racism in the NBA and more.

In the film, Fishel’s character ‘s father is not the most politically correct man and at a dinner with his daughter and her fiancé, he surprises her with his racial commentary. According to Fishel, before she filmed a second of Boiling Pot, that scene and the idea of being blind to racism, especially in your own family, was the most memorable:

The idea that some of us go around really blind to racism, that if we don’t experience it, then we don’t think it exits. I’ve definitely been one of those people. I was definitely one of those people that thought ‘racism’, while not gone altogether, but racism..we’ve come a long way. That was my mentality, because that’s been my experience. That’s what it seems to me, because nobody talking about this much anymore.

Fishel also gave a very candid theory on racism in the NBA in the aftermath of the Donald Sterling controversy:

The thing that I do think is really great about it coming out is that I think there are so many more people. Owners of teams, just so many more people that feel the exact same way. Say the exact same things in the privacy of their own homes or with their friends and their family.  Maybe not in privacy. It’s just been protected for some reason. Now that it’s been out, I hope that nobody is protected for it anymore. We need to have that discussion all the time.

During an episode on of Boy Meets World, Black female character Angela said she wrote a paper entitled “Maintaining Black Identity When You Have Three Very White Friends”. According to Fishel, Boy Meets World‘s greatest commentary on race was that it never gave one explicitly:

What I loved and our executive producer and a lot of other people loved about Boy Meets World was that it was one of the first shows that had an interracial teenage couple, but it was never mentioned ‘oh, you’re going to date a Black girl?’ He fell in love with this girl, and they were together and it wasn’t talked about, because it wasn’t important to us. We loved her as a person.

Hip Hop Rumors: The Game Upset About Not Being Included In G-Unit Reunion???

Former G-G-G-G-G-G-(Ok I’m probably missing a few Gs) G-Unit member The Game has been advocating for a G-Unit reunion for quite some time now. Even after all the drama that went on between the camp, The Game was willing to set aside differences and get the gang back together…

Obviously The Game was missing from the Summer Jam performance and is also absent from the new track.

But no harm done, Game took to IG to show of his group he put back together.

The Game-Cars-Should 50 throw Game back in to the mix of things?

Hip Hop Rumors: Goin' Against the Grain: Future Spotted Hanging Out With Rihanna

While Cici is home getting in to the swing of things with motherhood, looks like Future has other plans…

RhymeswithSnitch reports:

“With Ciara back in LA caring for their barely a-month-old son Future Jr, Future Sr. was spotted at a club in New York partying with Rihanna into the wee hours of the night.

According to Necole Bitchie Rihanna and Future both arrived at the club around 3am on Saturday.

And this is no idle incident, people. The bad blood between Rihanna and Ciara runs deep [click here here here or here if you missed that].

Stirring the pot a bit Rihanna Tweeted just last week that “someone” ought to be grateful that she turned down their man.”

Hip Hop Rumors: August Alsina Spazzes Over Hat (Video)

Now we all get angry, but this dude seems to be angry a lot…

During a show in Little Rock, AR. while riding upon his bodyguard’s shoulders, August Alsina went all the way left after his favorite hat is stolen right off his head by an eager fan.

The crooner yelled in to the mic, ““Any motherf***** in here that just took my motherf*****g hat…aint nobody leaving til I get it back straight up!”

Welp, that tactic didn’t work, so Alsina ended the show all together, which was all caught on video.

Later he shared that the hat was given to him by his late brother, but the way he went HAM on the crowd may have been a little much…

Interpretations: YC The Cynic "The Heaviest Cross"

YC The Cynic, is a manifestation of his native Bronx aka Hip-Hop’s birthplace, and he continues to cultivate his niche within the evolving genre. His previous mixtapes You’re Welcome and Fall FWD, resonate with the logophiles who appreciate fluid wordplay. GNK, the début album with producer, Frank Drake, reflects the emerging MC’s mental dexterity in conjunction with an easy delivery. It works well.

The second verse of “Heaviest Cross,” demonstrates The Bronx Bomber’s ability to continuously challenge himself to deliver poignant rhymes. Here he declares:

…Very last steps of a fallen man / A&R’s giving me the song and dance / How I’m gone tell Mom Dukes I failed / S###, I might be our only chance / Damn . . .

The Interpretations: Wrestling with the dilemma of having chosen his creativity over convention, the MC contemplates the known artistic indentured servitude of the corporate 360 Deal, with the possibility of not being able to provide for his family. Doubt destroys; failure is a plague that may shadow any efforts to improve.

Hip Hop Rumors: Hov Wants RihRih To Clean Up Her Act!!!

Hmmm…this may not go over well.

As we all know Jay-Z just signed Rihanna on to his label RocNation. Well word is before they get started he wants RihRih to clean up her bad gyal act and take a few notes from the Queen Bey.

DishNation reports:

“”Jay Z is so enamored with his superstar wife’s style and image that he’s urging his longtime protégé Rihanna to clean up her bad girl image by dressing and acting more like Queen Bey.

The rap mogul – who discovered the Barbados-born beauty nearly a decade ago — recently signed Rihanna to his Roc Nation record label.

Now, a music industry insider tells Dish Nation, “Jay is trying to shape a less ghetto, more elegant image for Rihanna. He wants her to ditch the sheer dresses” – like the nearly nude one she wore to the June 2nd CDFA Awards – “and the marijuana logos and references.

“Jay warned Rihanna that he runs a tight ship. He suggested she tone down her drinking, smoking and partying and go on juice cleanse to rid her body of toxins.”

“Jay also told Rihanna to curtail some of her more outrageous social media posts.”

Not so coincidentally, Rihanna quit Instagram last month.

But the Jigga Man pulled out the big gun when he asked Beyonce – whom Rihanna once referred to as “gorgeous, a stab to my self esteem” – to mentor the ‘Diamonds’ singer.

Says the source, “Beyonce is giving Rihanna tips on speaking more eloquently in interviews and she went through her wardrobe and tossed out some of the wilder stuff, like too-short denim daisy dukes and leather chaps.”

“Beyonce also suggested less garish wigs and makeup, and she’s pushing for a moratorium on Rihanna getting anymore tattoos.”

“Jay also banned Rihanna from any future communication with Chris Brown and he was a driving force behind Rihanna dumping Drake, because he’s dissed Jay in the past.””

Looks like Hov refuses to take a loss…Rihanna better hop onboard quick!

Mental Supreme Brings The Unsigned Celebrity Concert Series Back To NYC

It is very rare that we get a legit opportunity to view amazing talent from around the country at one event. Many times we are asked to check out showcases that display talent that just isn’t up our alley….but thankfully we’ve come across an event that we think will be something doper than anything we’ve seen in a very long time! Why is that you ask? Well, because this time it’s a competition that will be judged and there are prizes involved! That tends to drag the talent out of their houses and on to the stage!

And it’s an excellent opportunity for us to see if we can’t find some underground talent to talk about!

Brooklyn’s own Mental Supreme and his Training Camp Showcase are finding their way back to New York City and we’re excited to be a part of the festivities!

The Training Camp Showcase has been called the “Home of the unsigned artist” as it’s the longest running unsigned artist showcase in the country. 13 years is a long time to be doing this!

Says founder Mental Supreme,

“Not only do we educate the unsigned community on today’s ever changing entertainment industry, but we carefully cultivate & develop those who are serious about their craft. We have been doing so for over 13 years. Our program is not easy, we strip away the hype, the gloss, the facade, the ego, the self entitlement and we get down to the “essence of the artist” – (the passion & greatness).

Honestly, The Training Camp Showcase is not for everyone. But for those few, we promise greatness & the opportunity to create a new standard, a new expectation, a new caliber of entertainer for 2014 and beyond. Simply put…The Training Camp Showcase  “We manufacture greatness.””

Pretty hot right? Hip Hop was never a place where everyone got a trophy! So we are eager to see who is going to be on this stage and if they can live up to the premise of the competition!

So who will be the next winner and receiver of the $1,000 grand prize?! We don’t know…maybe it will be YOU!

The next event:

Tuesday, June 24: The Unsigned Celebrity Concert Series – $1,000 Grand Prize for best performance!
An interview & write up on “The Worlds most Dangerous Site” – AllHipHop.com with Skyy Hook

This event will be judged by AllHipHop.com & many others!

Native Americans Not “Happy” With Pharrell, He Apologizes

(AllHipHop News) Pharrell Williams is back in a controversial space.

This time, however, he has not upset African American women. Social media activists and others took exception to the cover art of the UK edition of Elle magazine. The Virginia-beach-bred musician was photographed in Native American headdress.

After a slew of complaints, Pharrell issued a statement to quell the dissension.

“I respect and honor every kind of race, background and culture. I am genuinely sorry,” he said.

Oddly, the 41-year-old producer has stated that some of this family lineage has indigenous blood in it.

Hip-Hop Rumors: MORE Racist Justin Bieber Footage On The Way?

“Say it again and I’ma crack a champagne bottle on ya knot, boy.”

Justin Bieber has started a firestorm of controversy based on the s**t that he said a few years ago on tape. Yeah, he said some stuff about “lonely n***ers” and joining the KKK and I think he even said something about killing African Americans. At this point, he could have said I want to “kill every n***a in sight” and I wouldn’t care. Why? Because, he’s dead to me now. BUT, here is the rumor. Somebody tried to shake Justin’s people down for a cool million to suppress this racist stuff, but they didn’t want to pay all of that. They tried to pay something like $500K according to some rumor reports. Anyway, the dude allegedly and reportedly has MORE racist footage that he’s about to dump on these streets.

I find this interesting. Its almost like, at this point, he wants to bury Beebz! I wonder will they have enough footage to get people like Mack Maine from defending the lil Canadian racist? I’m thinking at some point even those guys have to feel away. Or maybe they don’t know what the KKK is.

Brooklyn Street Could Soon Be Named After Spike Lee's "Do The Right Thing"

“Spread love, it’s the Brooklyn way”

(AllHipHop News) Truer words may have never been uttered by the late great Notorious B.I.G. and today (June 5th), it remains true. Spike Lee posted on his personal Instagram account a photo of a Brooklyn street being renamed after his classic 1989 classic film Do The Right Thing.

The entire Do The Right Thing film was shot in the Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood in Brooklyn. In commemoration of the 25th anniversary of the film, Lee stated on his personal Instagram account that one particular street from that neighborhood will be renamed after the film:

The City Of New York Has Changed Stuyvesant Street Between Lexington And Quincy In The Brooklyn Hood Of BED-STUY DO OR DIE As Do The Right Thing Way.

Less than 8 months ago, Brooklyn Community Board 2 denied LeRoy McCarthy’s campaign to co-name the intersection of Saint James Place and Fulton Street “Christopher Wallace Way” after the Notorious B.I.G. Councilman Robert Cornegy  informed the New York Daily News that the street has not been officially renamed and could still be denied”

It’s a bit complicated, because the City Council’s standards for co-naming focus on people and organizations, not works of art. Nevertheless, I fully support this effort and will continue to work in every way I can to see the commemoration happen.

Dame Dash Responds To Funkmaster Flex, Disses Lyor Cohen

(AllHipHop News) Two of the most outspoken individuals in Hip Hop are now in each other’s verbal crosshairs. This past Tuesday (June) Dame Dash responded to Funkmaster Flex’s on-air diatribe against the former Roc-A-Fella boss.

During The Funkmaster Flex Show on Hot 97, Flex defended former Def Jam President Joie Manda against Dash’s claims of Manda being a “culture vulture.” Dash wasted no time and went directly to his personal Instagram account to address Flex’s defense of Manda and issue a way Flex and Dash can settle their disagreement:

Hey @djfunkflex would not have an issue with another man over another man… I believe a man should speak up for himself and I really hope you would never desrespect me over another man I’m 43 so what I will do is give you an interview live where you can ask me any question you want and joi can as well

The following day, Dash went back to his accusatory ways and lamented another former Def Jam President as a culture vulture. In the caption of an photo of Jay Z, Dame Dash, Russell Simmons and Lyor Cohen, Dash attempts to assassinate Cohen’s character:

Look how happy the culture vulture Lyor Cohen looks to be getting money off all of us and our authentic experiences… We’re all mad cause we can’t make money of his him cause he never did anything cool ever…I wonder what sell out from our culture that has been employed by them for years is gonna stick up for him like @djfunkflex did for that clown joi It’s funny how they try to make us fight each to take the focus off them robbing the us…

Earlier this year in an interview with Details Magazine Dash stated that “every single person I see hanging around” Jay Z is “making money off him” and included Lyor Cohen in that list of people.

Check out Dash’s response to Funkmaster Flex and diss to Lyor Cohen on Instagram below:

Lyor Cohen

Funkmaster Flex
