(AllHipHop News) Do not let the alluringly innocent appearance fool you, Elle Varner has a razor tongue and is not afraid to use it. The prolific songwriter exclusively spoke to AllHipHop about Kendrick Lamar’s “Control” verse, her boyfriend at the time, Iman Shumpert’s response and her own response to Beyonce’s “Bow Down”.
In mid-March, Beyonce sent the music industry in a stir with her song “Bow Down” wherein she essentially told her R&B competition whom may have been inspired by her to “bow down, b*tches. While Elle believes the song was really good, she did say she might have a diss song in the holster:
I actually made a song kind of dissing everybody. It’s called “Coming For Your Neck”. Who knows, I might put it out. But at the end of the day, I’m a writer and I’m a great writer. So, I might say some sh*t one day but then it’d be like “la la la, playing in the forest.”
Elle also commented on the reaction to Kendrick Lamar’s “Control” verse. The loquacious singer gave a “no comment” when her friend J. Cole was mentioned but did speak on Iman Shumpert’s response to the polarizing Kendrick Lamar verse:
I give him props, because he does whatever he wants to do. Everybody doesn’t have the confidence to do that. So say what you want but the man did something the next day and we’re still waiting on a few responses.
Check out the rest of the interview below where the songstress discusses her writing skills, says it’d be “unfair” to the rap game if she started rapping and more:
“Life is a chess game…or a video game…so I keep my thoughts to myself because I can’t let you know my next move.. that’s who I am” Check out Rock from Heltah Skeltah speaking on his childhood story, his mother, Sean Price and more. In this exclusive and personal interview, Rock breaks down the difference between himself and his other half Sean Price using horoscope as one of the examples and how they balance each other out, like peanut butter & jelly.

(AllHipHop News) “It’s rules to this sh*t. I wrote me a manual,” rapped Hip Hop legend The Notorious B.I.G. on his classic song “Ten Crack Commandments.” Fashion designer and entrepreneur Marc Ecko is now using the Life After Death track as the basis for his Skillshare online business course.

Ecko says about incorporating Biggie’s song into the course:
One of the most important lessons I have learned through two decades of building my own businesses is that wisdom and guidance can be found in the most unlikely of places. As a result, I’ve structured this Skillshare class on my principles of business around the legendary hip-hop track “Ten Crack Commandments” by Biggie Smalls. On the surface it would appear that Biggie is rapping about illegal drug sales, but the knowledge dropped in this song actually applies to all businesses no matter the industry.
“Run Your Own Business: Lessons from Biggie” is an extension of Ecko’s book Unlabel: Selling You Without Selling Out. The course will cover business fundamentals like management skills, enabling ideas, and refining your personal brand.
Ecko is also offering a $5,000 endowment to one student who creates the best inspirational “business commandment” from a lyric or pop culture saying. The enrollment fee for the class is $25, but students who purchase Unlabel can receive a voucher to take the course for free.
For more information about “Run Your Own Business: Lessons from Biggie” and how to take the class for free visit www.skillshare.com.

(AllHipHop News) Rick Ross’ Maybach Music Group is apparently facing a lawsuit from a London promoter. TMZ is reporting that Ross, Meek Mill, Wale, Omarion, and Stalley were supposed to perform at a Wembley Arena concert on September 12, 2012, but the entertainers attempted to have the show postponed.
The promoter claims that the MMG members received over $285,000 in performance fees, flight costs, and other expenses before negotiations on a make-up date broke down. The promoter is now suing to reclaim all the money advanced to the five stars.
According to the plaintiff, $93,281.26 of that total was for the plane tickets and other costs. The rest was for the appearance fees for each MMG member which are now public. Ross was reportedly paid $100,000 while Meek Mill garnered $40,000, Wale $35,000, Omarion $12,000, and Stalley $5,500.

(AllHipHop News) Lauryn Hill is set to be released from her 3-month prison sentence soon. The former Fugees member is serving time in Connecticut’s Danbury Prison for tax evasion, and as Ms. Hill prepares to be a free women once again she has dropped a new track called “Consumerism.”
[ALSO READ: Lauryn Hill Sentenced To Three Months In Prison Over Taxes]
The reclusive Grammy winner previously dropped the track “Neurotic Society (Compulsory Mix)” in May after signing a reported $1 million record deal with Sony.
Hill also took the time to release a statement about her motivations for “Consumerism” and details on how the song was recorded.
Listen to “Consumerism” and read Ms. Hill’s statement below.
“Consumerism” is part of some material I was trying to finish before I had to come in. We did our best to eek out a mix via verbal and emailed direction, thanks to the crew of surrogate ears on the other side. Letters From Exile is material written from a certain space, in a certain place. I felt the need to discuss the underlying socio-political, cultural paradigm as I saw it. I haven’t been able to watch the news too much recently, so I’m not hip on everything going on. But inspiration of this sort is a kind of news in and of itself, and often times contains an urgency that precedes what happens. I couldn’t imagine it not being relevant. Messages like these I imagine find their audience, or their audience finds them, like water seeking it’s level.
Well GOT DAMN. Ain’t this a b**ch! The internet is an equal opportunity hater/jokester! Even if you are one of the finest woman Hollywood can make. You understand it? People who cross that line they not welcome no more. But as far as Kanye, I just love his passion. And I feel anybody that love what they do you gotta respect someone that is that passionate about what they do because homie a hundred mill you can just sit back and really don’t give a f*ck, but he actually cares about the culture. He puts that much passion into it.”

AllHipHop’s Grouchy Greg & Chuck “Jigsaw” Creekmur, Chaka Zulu of Disturbing Tha Peace, T.I., Jermaine Dupri and others were honored down in ATL over the BET Hip-Hop Awards. It was a great event with performances by Ludacris, T.I., Tela, Bone Crusher and Chubb Rock. Scarface was supposed to be there, but was not for some reason.
