Former Hip-Hop mogul Marion “Suge” Knight is in serious debt to the Internal Revenue Service. In January, the IRS re-filed a 2003 lien against the former Death Row co-owner for $6,578,696.31, based on his 1996 tax return. According to court documents related to his child support, Knight currently earns $1,207 per-month. Just last month, a Simi Valley storage facility auctioned off $4,500 worth of Knight’s belongings, after he failed to pay a seven-month-old bill. The family of the late Tony Silver, director of the classic 1983 Hip-Hop movie Style Wars, is asking fans to help restore the original print of the movie. According to the official Style Wars website, the original negative of the film had been damaged after many years in storage. Silver’s family hopes to use digital technology to restore the movie frame by frame. The restoration of the cult-classic, which features The Rock Steady Crew, legendary graffiti artists Dondi and Seen, will cost about $500,000. Style Wars was produced by Tony Silver and Henry Chalfont. The documentary took the Grand Prize in Documentaries at the Sundance Film Festival in 1983. More information can be found at www.stylewars.com. Dizzee Rascal will bare his soul in a new upcoming autobiography, according to reports. The rapper signed a deal with Canongate Books to release The Dizzee Rascal Story with music journalist Ben Thompson. The book will detail Dizzee’s rise to fame from his impoverished beginnings in East London to his career as a successful rapper, who has landed three #1 hits (“Dance Wiv Me”, “Bonkers” and “Holiday”) and earned a Mercury Prize. The book will also detail a high profile fight in 2003, in the Cyprus resort of Ayia Napa. Dizzee was stabbed six times during a clash with rivals connected to The So Solid Crew. The Dizzee Rascal Story is slated for an October 2010 release.
