[...] AllHipHop.com reports that Sharon, PA songwriter, Max Gregory Warren is suing Wiz Khalifa, producer Stargate and Rotsdam Records, claiming that the concept for Khalifa’s hit “Black and Yellow” was plagiarized from Warren’s song “Pink n Yellow.” Warren wrote the song in November 2007 and copyrighted it in February 2008. He claims that in between that time, Khalifa, et al. heard and subsequently poached the idea. On December 30th, Warren filed suit for fraud and deceit, copyright infringement, civil conspiracy and unjust enrichment with the United States District Court, Eastern District of Pennsylvania for $2.375M in punitive and actual damages. A medium-heavy Google search for Warren and the song only reveals reports about the suit, so it’s difficult to report on any similarities between the two tracks. [...] AllHipHop reported on Wednesday (January 4) that songwriter Max Warren, who moonlights as rapper Maxamillion, filed a lawsuit in the United States District Court in Pennsylvania on December 30, 2011. The suit alleges that Wiz Khalifa and “Black And Yellow” production team Stargate stole Warren’s original concept and track “Pink N Yellow” – stating in the suit he authored the track in 2007. Warren further says that while he was undergoing the process to have his track copyrighted in 2008, Wiz Khalifa took the track and created “Black And Yellow” and several other remixes and spin-off tracks.
