(AllHipHop News) For about 10 years, in terms of commercial success in Hip Hop, the rankings have been Eminem #1…and then everyone else. That continued this past week when Eminem’s eighth studio album in 14 years, The Marshall Mathers LP 2 scored the highest 1st week sales for a rapper with 792,000.
While not even half of the ridiculous 1.71 million 1st week sales its predecessor, The Marshall Mathers LP scored, Eminem’s 8th studio album has set off a string off record-breaking for the 41 year old MC. In addition to his new album being #1 on the Billboard Top 200, everyone of his eight solo studio albums has also entered the Billboard 200 simultaneously, a first for a rapper.
#1 The Marshall Mathers LP 2 – 793,000
#30 The Marshall Mathers LP – 10,000 (Total 10,766,000)
#58 The Eminem Show – 7,000 (Total 10,270,000)
#64 Recovery – 7,000 (Total 4,509,000)
#94 Curtain Call – 5,000 (Total 3,778,000)
#115 The Slim Shady LP – 4,000 (Total 5,433,000)
#158 Encore – 3,000 (Total 5,343,000)

Eminem’s The Marshall Mathers LP 2 also became his seventh straight #1 album in the U.K., making him the first American artist ever to achieve such a feat.
