Kodak Black Claims He’s A Better Rapper Than Tupac & Biggie!

In interesting news, Kodak Black believes that he is better than Tupac and Biggie!!? It must be the drugs and delusions of grandeur. How Sway? On what planet? Actually what artists that are out now would you even say Kodak is better than?! Help us out. He’s lost it for sure.

Will Desiigner Be More Than A One-Hit Rapper?

Photo via Desiigner’s Instagram

Desiigner has had some success with his single “Panda”. The rapper has even had success in a way that even Future hasn’t experienced yet. Many believe Desiigner jacked Future’s style; ironically, although Future has dominated the rap game, he has failed to completely dominate the Billboard charts. Interestingly enough, Desiigner’s single “Panda” has charted higher than any solo track Future has ever released (Panda hit No. 14 on the Billboard Hot 100). Well clearly Future has been doing just fine without the chart accolades from Billboard, but we wonder will Desiigner find success beyond “Panda”? What are your thoughts?

Kirko Bangz Calls Out “Catfish Groupie”

Hey, it’s just another day of rappers and their baby mama drama! This story is a little bit different though. A woman has been claiming to be the baby mama of Kirko Bangz, and Kirko is calling BS! He has even gone as far as to call the girl a catfish! The woman claims that Kirko barely will pay the $1K that they’ve agreed on for child support. Kirko responded saying,

“If I had a child I wouldn’t be on child support because I would be one hell of a father to my child.

Kirko says he has never seen the woman a day in his life. Kirko even said the woman stole a photo of his niece claiming that it was her child with Kirko. Well, there are certainly some crazy and obsessed stalkers out there.

Dee-1 Gets Lit With Lupe And K.R.I.T. On Remix For “Against Us”

Fresh off the enormous viral success that was “Sallie Mae Back”, which garnered close to 7M views collectively and landed Dee his very first talk show appearance on The Real, Dee-1 unleashes the remix to his double time hit,”Against Us.”

Featured on the track are Lupe Fiasco, BIG K.R.I.T. and a special surprise intro by Dee’s grandfather, who celebrates his birthday today.

“I only collab with people I’m friends with, the rest of that stuff is fake if there’s no real relationship with the artists. I’m thankful my homies KRIT and Lupe could come together with me for this one. Compared to what’s out right now, this is hard. I hope everyone loves it like I do.” The Nola emcee says.

Lil Durk, Dolph & Young Thugga Say The Trap House Is A Waffle House On New Track

Everyone knows if you’re in the A, then the Waffle House is that late night food spot. From syrup to late night fights to slammin hashbrowns and eggs, the Waffle House has it all. Durk, Dolph and Thugga all share their affinity for the late night food spot on this new track “Trap House,” using the chain as a euphemism for trap spot.

Lil Yachty’s “22” Is That New Chill Spring Trap Jam

Yachty’s new joint with BIGBRUTHACHUBBA & JBANS$ is that new relatively chill Spring jam. Perhaps because it’s not all the way fired up like your typical Summer trap track, but regardless the song hits with the proper speakers. As Yachty spits “22 diamonds” repeatedly on the intro and hook Yachty floats on the track in the most relaxed nonchalant way. Kid is moving fast, so we ain’t mad at this slower paced track.

EXCLUSIVE: Cipha Sounds Discusses ‘No Small Talk’ Series, Getting Support From Jay Z & Funniest Rappers

(AllHipHop Features) Cipha Sounds first made a name for himself in entertainment as a DJ and radio personality. New York City woke up to Cipha’s voice for seven years when he sat beside Peter Rosenberg on Hot 97’s The Morning Show.

While being the host of a top rated radio program earned the Bronx native recognition across the globe, Cipha has also spent years elevating his status in the comedy world. His comedic résumé already includes presenting the “Double Stuf Comedy” event and the “Take It Personal” improv show, but the man born Luis Diaz now has a regular stand-up comedy show on the Jay Z led streaming service Tidal.

Cipha’s The No Small Talk Comedy Series follows in the tradition of Russell Simmons’ Def Comedy Jam, P. Diddy’s The Bad Boys of Comedy, and Gabriel Iglesias’ Stand Up Revolution. Each installment features Ciph introducing comedians to a live audience at Manhattan’s popular Comedy Cellar.

Season 2 of No Small Talk hit Tidal on April 1. Subscribers can now watch all 6 episodes on the platform. Chris Distefano, Greer Barnes, Tony Woods, Mike Troy, Mike Yard, and Rory Albanese are among the 18 jokesmiths that hit the stage in NYC.

In this new interview with AllHipHop.com, Cipha Sounds provides details about his comedy career, working with Tidal, getting support from Jay Z, and more.

How did you first get involved in the comedy scene?

I used to say a lot of funny stuff when I was on the radio. People were reacting more to the funny stuff I said than the music, so I started doing it for real.

Which profession do you think is harder to break into, stand-up or radio?

I think radio is harder to get into. There are but only so many radio stations in a market, but you can find comedy shows everywhere. They might not be the greatest, but you gotta get on stage to get better.

What has been the response from viewers for No Small Talk?

So far the viewers have given me nothing but great feedback.

You’ve talked about how you hand picked the comedians to appear on the show. What do you look for in a potential comic when selecting the line-up?

I look for the type of comedians that can work in any type of room. I like comedians that appeal to all audiences. Oh, and ones that also wanna be my friend… I don’t have many friends.

In your opinion, what are the benefits of having No Small Talk run exclusively on Tidal?

Tidal is a dope ass platform. The quality is amazing. I feel like I am in an exclusive club on Tidal. It’s the new wave. Look, Tidal has Beyoncé, Kanye, Rihanna, and then me. You see me?

Your show is available on Tidal and you’re currently managed by Roc Nation. How involved is Jay Z in your career?

Jay is my mentor alongside OG Juan. They looked out for me numerous times in my life. They take my word in that comedy is a world they need to be in. It’s not their main focus yet, but I will make it a huge part of the ROC soon.

Season 2 of No Small Talk Comedy Series drops tomorrow exclusively on @Tidal !! April 1st Go to Tidal, tidal.com !! @ciphasounds #tonywoods #nosmalltalk @nyccomedycellar

Do you have any interest in returning to radio in any form?

As of right now I don’t. I don’t have anything against it, and I miss certain aspects of it, but I like living on the edge. Leaving a great career to start at the bottom of another is exciting. Excitement is my drug… Adrenaline b-tches!

Stand-up comedians often move into the film industry. Can we expect to see Cipha Sounds in a comedic movie in the near future?

Oh yeah, that has always been a dream of mine. I don’t want to be a movie star. I want to be that actor that’s in everything and when people see you they say sh-t like, “Yo, you’re that guy that slapped J. Lo’s ass in that movie.” Then they start saying the sh-t you said in the movie. You know, real annoying sh-t in public.

Who would you put on the Mount Rushmore of stand-up comedians?

Dave Chappelle. He can rock any crowd. He still loves the art form 100%. He can rock for hours and hours on stage. He will take a regular conversation you have had and go on stage and make that sh-t the funniest comedy bit ever.

Patrice O’Neal, R.I.P. He would spit the truth in the funniest ways possible. He would make a comedy club almost uncomfortable at times with the truth, but then bring it all the way back from the depths of uncomfortable and make it the funniest show ever.

Louis C.K. The guy is a killer on stage and was coming up with new hours every year. That is very hard to do. But I also like him cause he doesn’t give a sh-t about being the “man” in the industry. He does what the f-ck he wants. It’s impressive.

Jerry Seinfeld. We all know the obvious things that he’s done to change the game. What I like about him is that even though he is rich and famous, he still wants to get on stage all the time and tell jokes – write jokes from scratch, get on stage and tell them, fix and edit them, and then try them again.

From your experience, which rappers do you think would make great stand-up comedians?

Rappers that would be great stand ups are obviously N.O.R.E., Ghostface Killah, Styles P, T-Pain, Lil Jon, Action Bronson, Cam’ron, and Biggie… R.I.P.

50 Cent Says Eminem Made 2 Versions Of One Of His Albums

(AllHipHop News) 50 Cent and Eminem have been musical partners for over a decade. The Detroit spitter and the Queens rhymer collaborated on cuts like “Patiently Waiting,” “Crack A Bottle,” and “Love Me.” In addition, 50 contributed the track “Drama Never Ends” to the Southpaw soundtrack executive produced by Em.

DJ Enuff’s The Heavy Hitters radio show recently spoke with 50. According to Fif, his mentor actually has another full body of work that the public has never heard.

“We did two versions of… the album he did that didn’t work… He had one that he didn’t like the expectations of. He didn’t like the performance of the record,” said 50. “Em’s different. The world’s gotta to stop spinning for a couple of seconds, then go back to normal when his record comes out.”

While 50 was not specific about which project Eminem re-recorded, the Shady Records boss has been publicly self-critical about 2004’s Encore and 2009’s Relapse. On “Talkin’ 2 Myself” off Recovery, Em rapped, “It’s different, them last two albums didn’t count. Encore I was on drugs, Relapse I was flushing them out.”

Did Kid Cudi Sub Diss Drake’s New Songs “One Dance” & “Pop Style”?

(AllHipHop News) There is a James Bond quote that reads, “Once is happenstance; twice is coincidence; the third time it’s enemy action.” It appears Kid Cudi has now reached the second part of that quote when it comes to Drake releasing new music.

[ALSO READ: Did Kid Cudi Shade Drake & Future’s ‘What A Time To Be Alive’?]

Back in September, Cudi wrote on Twitter moments following the release of Drake and Future’s What A Time To Be Alive, “Some of you are so easily amused and impressed by mediocrity.” The timing of the tweet left the impression it was meant to be received as a diss of WATTBA.

Yesterday the Cleveland rapper posted another cryptic tweet nearly immediately after the Internet found out Drake dropped “One Dance” and “Pop Style” (which features Kanye West and Jay Z). This time Cudi said, “Too much industry d*ck lickin’.” The tweet has been retweeted over 2,900 times with users questioning if the message was directed at Drake.

Two years ago, Cudi also expressed during an appearance on The Arsenio Hall Show that if he rapped about his material possessions there would be no Drake. On the same show, the Speedin’ Bullet 2 Heaven album creator talked about how Hip Hop artists flaunting their wealth was detrimental to the black community in his opinion.

Tyga Addresses Blac Chyna & Rob Kardashian’s Engagement

(AllHipHop News) The collective Internet was in shock this week when Blac Chyna and Rob Kardashian announced they were getting married. Some social media users decided to comment about the fact that Chyna’s son with Tyga could also be the rapper’s nephew. Tyga is currently dating Rob’s sister Kylie Jenner.

[ALSO READ: Publicity Stunt? Are Blac Chyna & Rob Kardashian Really Engaged?]

Tyga was not pleased with the online reaction and addressed what was being said on his Twitter page. He wrote, “It makes me happy to see the mother of my son happy. My only concern in this situation is my son. I want him in happy environments.”

The “Rack City” rhymer later added, “Only an evil heart would direct negativity at a child and make fun of him for being in a situation that is out of his control.”

Besides the Rob-Chyna-Kylie-Tyga web, Amber Rose, Kanye West, and Kim Kardashian are also connected to the situation. Chyna is best friends with Amber. Amber used to date Kanye. Kanye is married to Kim. Kim, Kylie, and Rob are all siblings. Rob is engaged to Chyna.

New Phife Dawg Video Emerges, Track To Be On New ATCQ Album

(AllHipHop News) Yesterday (April 5) friends, family and rappers from across the industry including Kanye West, Busta Rhymes, The Roots  and Andre 3000 paid tribute to the late Phife Dawg.

While everyone celebrated, laughed and cried for Phife in “A Celebration of Phife Dawg” at the Apollo Theater,  Smokin’ Needles Records released the first post-humous record from Phife called, “Nutshell,”  now available to download via iTunes.

The video caps off what’s been a tragic two weeks for Hip-Hop as fans of A Tribe Called Quest mourn one of its founding members.

With the release of  his “Nutshell” visual that premiered on Billboard, fans are also treated to a new track produced by J Dilla.

“Unaccustomed to unproven whack flows/Unresponsive to unapproved stages shows/That’s unacceptable, unexciting, lazy f*cker/Phife here, canny, uncommon rhyme spitter,” Phife Dawg spits on the new song.

The past two days have been dedicated to Phife Dawg by friends, family and partners in rap.

Prior to the funeral services two days ago (April 4), ATCQ asked fans to meet them at St. Albans Park in Queens for “A Celebration of Phife.”

The park is the same park that is being petitioned to be renamed Malik Taylor Park

The first 200 fans that arrived received a Phife Dawg t-shirt and ticket to yesterday’s show at the Apollo.

In the mean time, fans will be eagerly awaiting Tribe’s Give Thanks  project.

Half of the proceeds from “Nutshell”  will be donated to the American Diabetes Association and the National Kidney Foundation, check out the visual below.

Common Credits Chicago Love As Inspiration For “Barbershop: The Next Cut”

With “Barbershop: The Next Cut,” premiering tonight at The TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, California and set to open in theaters nationwide on April 15th, hip hop star and actor Common met one on one with AllHipHop’s Kylie Krabbe to talk about his experience as a newcomer to the “Barbershop” franchise, and how his love for his city of Chicago sustained him and gave him just the right amount of inspiration and confidence to give the role what it needed to deliver big laughs and political drama as an homage to both the franchise and the city that he calls his own.

Being from Chicago, how important was it to you to get it right in regards to what is going on with the unfortunate uptick in violence that is happening now in that city?  I have so much passion and compassion for my city Chicago and the people in Chicago and what the people of Chicago in this story can represent for cities in America….It’s not only Chicago that’s enduring this and encountering violence and the struggles of fatherhood.  Black men and Black women too have to deal with the struggles of American life, so I take a lot of pride in making sure that we were as authentic as possible and true to Chicago and also true to what’s going on.   Capturing the spirit of what’s going on in Chicago and telling that story in an honest way so that people feel it and respect it… more than just feeling distant from it.

Director Malcolm Lee, as well as producer Ice Cube have made much of the idea that “Barbershop: The Next Cut” was intentionally crafted from a very inclusive and creatively improvisational mindset.  To that end, what part of this movie would you say really has your mark on it? I would say in my performance the things that I felt were really like,  ‘look Malcolm, this is how this guy, this character needs to say this,’ was the stuff about Trayvon Martin.  You know, it was already written (in the script) about Trayvon Martin and the president, but then I kind of just started adding more things….I also expressed to Malcolm that I felt my character needed to be emotional with his lady and be caring… show that he was like… ‘I need to hear that I’m important too sometimes,’ but that he still showed that strength. Originally it was kind of like my character was almost getting pushed over by his wife. But those lines, I was adding that stuff….I think it shows the dynamic of what a man can be.

You are a completely new entity coming into this established franchise that is the “Barbershop” movies and it’s equally established fan base.  With ten years worth of history there, were you nervous coming in to that iconic world – especially considering that these movies are comedies and you aren’t exactly known as a comedy guy?  You know what? My confidence was grounded in that I was from Chicago. So I knew that… and I like going to certain unknown places because I just like challenging myself and growing and getting better.  So okay, yeah I’m going to this real comedy so let me feel what this is going to be like. But then, just being around it I was okay.  I just gotta feel who I am within this and feel who Rashad is and that’s it.  I’m not Eddie’s (Cedric The Entertainer’s) character. I’m not coming up with the punch lines like they come up with. I don’t have to. That’s not what I’m here to serve in the story either.  So I didn’t get outside of myself as far as who my character is, and I was really confident in the fact that I was going to bring Chicago to it like, yo’ I was going to bring all our slang.  There was just certain things like neighborhoods.  So when people from Chicago hear it they’re like, ‘damn he said Chatham! He said Auburn Park!’ So I knew couldn’t nobody do that but all of us that was from Chicago really.

“Barbershop: The Next Cut” opens nationwide in theaters on April 15, 2016.

Ice Cube Talks “Barbershop: The Next Cut” And A New Album

With his new movie “Barbershop: The Next Cut” set to drop in theaters nationwide on April 15th, Hip Hop legend, movie star and music and movie producer Ice Cube took some time out to talk one on one with AllHipHop’s Kylie Krabbe about why “Barbershop:The Next Cut” is a timely addition to the much beloved franchise, other cinematic projects up his sleeve, as well as the time currently being ripe for Cube to work on his new album, “Everythang’s Corrupt.”

Here are some questions and answers from our one on one candid conversation with Ice Cube:

AllHipHop: Of the three “Barbershop” movies, how does this one rate for you?

Ice Cube: Well, it’s hard to beat the first one. I mean it’s 1 A.

So what does 1A mean?

I mean it’s just as good as the first, it’s just not the first.

Your character comes full circle from the first “Barbershop” movie in “Barbershop: The Next Cut.”  In the first one, your character Calvin wasn’t sure that he even wanted the barbershop he had inherited from his father.  Now in this movie, he is an elder statesman in the community because of his barbershop and what it represents for so many.   Do you think that because of this “Barbershop: The Next Cut” is likely the last of the franchise or is there more that we haven’t seen?

I think there is definitely more there. As long as there’s situations that people go through we can always highlight them and talk about them in “Barbershop.”  And I still think Calvin – he was still trying to get out of there. He was still thinking about abandoning the neighborhood and going somewhere else and doing what most people do in these situations, so I still think he has some growing to do.

As a producer on this movie, you came up with a large chunk of the dramatic A story – the barbershop holding a 48 hour cease fire – from an article that you happened to read about a real life barbershop in Memphis, Tennessee that did the same thing.  If you hadn’t read that article, do you think that “Barbershop: The Next Cut,” while still very funny like all of the “Barbershop” movies, would have had such a timely but politically based bent?

I think we would have – I was looking to connect it with what was really happening in Chicago, so I think that that element came out of it dealing with the son trying to stay out of the streets while trying not to get shot. I don’t know if the barbershop  48 hour free haircut day would have happened. I think we would have found the story because we were looking for it so hard, looking for what this movie needed to be.  Either we would have found it or we wouldn’t have done the movie.

So it really had to be about something.

Yeah. I didn’t want to do it without having a good reason to do it. I didn’t want to do it because – I don’t think nobody did without having that good reason.  Maybe MGM did, but we wanted to have a good reason to shoot this movie and talk about things that were really happening on the ground in Chicago.

With “Everthang’s Corrupt,” it’s been awhile since you’ve come out with something new musically. Why now?

You know, I haven’t promised a record yet. I’m still working on it. But I had to put it down for a minute to finish these movies and make sure they were right. To make sure “Ride Along 2” was right, “Barbershop” and “Straight Outta Compton” –  and this is going to be the end of it.  I did a movie called “Fist Fight.”  I just didn’t want to spread myself too thin. Finish these movies and finish this promotion and then finish the record and put it out.

“Everythang’s Corrupt” – was that title inspired by the Oscar nominations snub with “Straight Outta Compton”?

Oh no. I named that album three years ago.

So then where does that title come from? What’s that about for you?

Everything is corrupt. Everything has a form of corruption. It has poison in it. It’s like a cancer. Everything.

So just aside from current politics, Donald Trump and everything else?

Oh yeah. Way aside from Trump. Everywhere. There’s corruption everywhere. That’s the problem.

[SEE ALSO: Dead Beef: Ice Cube and Common Jump On A Song]

So is this album your way of dealing with it?

I mean that’s just the title of what I’m talking about on the record. That we have to look at everything because everything is corrupt, and it’s a shame.  But you know the hook on the song says:  “For my birthday buy me a politician/ It’s a shame that we gotta teach the children/ Everything is corrupt/ Everything is corrupt.” Everything is corrupt so it’s kind of like that’s the theme.

Do you think you’ll be working with your son O’Shea Jackson Jr. at all? Does he rap?

Yeah. Yeah he do. He’s good too. He’s real good. I don’t know if he want’s to do that yet. He’s still in the process of landing his second movie, so I think he wants to be a movie star. I’m fine with that.

So he can’t do both like his dad?

Yeah, he can if he want’s to. I think he should focus on one over the other. I think the movie lane is open. You know, he’s second generation Hollywood.  I think he should go that route and do music after he solidifies himself in the industry.

Having been very successful both industries, do you see one as being easier than the other?

The movie industry is a lot cleaner than the record business – it’s dirty. It’s a dirty business. It’s still harder to get a movie made than a record of course, but they pay you. They pay you right.

You talk about the music industry being dirtier and of course you’ve got that whole business with Ke$ha and her lawsuit that she lost against her record label Sony, and her producer Dr. Luke based on her allegations of longtime sexual abuse from Dr. Luke.  What’s your take on that? What happened with her?

In a nutshell, she’s accused Dr. Luke of having been sexually abusive to her since she first signed with him at 18 years old.  Her contract with Dr. Luke’s company, Prescription Songs and his label, Kemosabe Imprint, which is a Sony imprint, stipulates that Dr. Luke must produce at least six songs on all of her albums.    Ke$ha claims to have sued because she doesn’t want to continue working with him, even though she has no problem staying with Sony, but Sony won’t let her out of her contract.  Different female artists have come out in support of her since the ruling went against her.  I know that this particular brand of ugliness hasn’t been your experience, but do you think that this level of “dirt” might be due to the fact that the music business might not be as transparent as the movie business when in comes down to it?

I think the same sort of stuff happens in the movie industry. If you really dig deep, there’s probably people who are victims of the casting couch, so to speak. With her, I think as a record label, I understand them not wanting to release her cause she’s a hit artist and they didn’t do nothing to her. If they assigned her that producer, they might be at fault but as a producer I think the fault is with the producer and they just need to get her a different producer.

According to Ke$ha, that’s what Sony won’t do – though Sony has legally claimed otherwise.

Oh well then yeah – I definitely wouldn’t record for them again. They might as well release me because I’m not doing another record. I’m definitely not working with this m###########.  So I side with her if they feel that way.

And so what’s next for you? Because you were talking about your next movie “Fist Fight” – what’s that about?

Charlie Day is in that movie and we play two teachers who decide to have a fight after school at 3 o’clock. Kick yo’ ass.

It seems like you are doing all of these projects that are speaking straight to being a dad or a father figure and things that men have to teach to the youngsters about manhood and what you should do as a real man versus what you might want to just run off and do. Is that a calculated choice or just an organic thing that has happened with you career?

I think so. You know, I think it’s really organic to just be going that way. You know, I ain’t no young buck no more. I’m big daddy.

Has time mellowed you out at all? It would seem that it hasn’t if you are writing “Everythang’s Corrupt” paired with what you wanted to get across as a producer in “Barbershop: The Next Cut” in regards to real life community situations for many people living in Chicago.

I haven’t mellowed out at all as a person. People might see a character I play and for some reason they think if you play a preschool teacher on a movie then you’re into doing kid’s movies now and you’ve changed your life and that’s what you’re doing. It’s like naw, I just played this d###### preschool teacher and there’s nothing different about me.  I’m just trying to be a good actor.

Paul Wall Disputes Master P’s Claims That Syrup Is “Killing This Generation,” Says Houston’s Culture Is Being Killed

(AllHipHop News) In a candid interview with Yo Gotti’s DJ, DJ Smallz, Houston rapper Paul Wall responded to a comment Master P stated in an interview with Power 105’s the Breakfast Club saying,”Everybody getting high now, the syrup is killing the whole, this generation.”

Paul has always been a proponent of the purple sprite drink over the years even most recently titling a track on his slabgod project,  “Muddy Cups On Sunset.”

As it is, the Houston rapper says, “he doesn’t know anyone personally that has died” from syrup.

“Of course I love Master P,  I got nothing but respect for Master P, but it might be killing the generation theoretically, but it’s not sending people to the graveyard.   I personally don’t know not one person in my whole life who has ever died as a result of sippin’ syrup,” Paul Wall said in defense of the popular drug.

Tragically the legendary DJ Screw, Big Moe and the late great Pimp C all reportedly succumbed to lethal dosages of the potion, though Paul Wall clearly disputed that fact, blaming their deaths on lifestyle choices.

Codeine, which is an opiate, know to produce a feelings of said euphoria, while the cough syrup also contains a drug called promethazine, which acts as a sedative.

“They might have syrup in they body when they die, but that don’t kill ’em,” Paul Wall continued. “Now poppin’ pills, handlebars, them handlebars be sending people to the grave. Shooting heroin up that’s sending people to the grave. You know that flocka, that’s sending people to the grave. Alcohol is sending people to the grave.  200 million people die off some crazy sht from cigarettes, that’s sending people to the grave. Obesity, not eating properly, drinking sodas, eating all this s### with corn starch, and corn syrup in it. Not real sugar, not real products, all these man-made products, that’s the sht that’s sending people to the grave.”

Recently Obama declared war on prescription drugs at a conference in Atlanta combatting drug abuse.

“It’s important to recognize today, that we are seeing more people killed because of opioid overdoses than traffic accidents,” President Barack Obama explained.

A host of rappers have had public battles with their use of lean including Lil Wayne, most recently Future, and Boosie who said that the deadly concoction “almost killed him 3 or 4 times.”

The promethazine and codeine concoction was famously popularized by DJ Screw with his “chopped and screwed” style of music and his S.U.C. (Screwed Up Click) group of rappers.

“Now the whole entire world is walking around with double white cups and they pourin’ up fake syrup, they don’t even know what they drinkin’ they just want to say they sippin’ some syrup. But they killing our culture down here man, that’s what’s being killed, our culture down here man,” a frustrated Paul Wall said.

Paul also denounced the signature double styrofoam cups seen in the hands of rappers across the game.

“For the record, we don’t sip double cups in Houston no more man, the police is not stupid. You ridin’ around with a double cup, they taking you to jail, they pulling you over, so we don’t sip no double cups no more, unless you want to go to jail or unless you being corny and want everyone to know you sippin’ syrup.”

EXCLUSIVE: Lil Soulja Slim Says He Recorded At C-Murder’s House, Forms Group With B.G. And Juvenile’s Sons

(AllHipHop News) While Louisiana prison officials continue an investigation into whether or not C-Murder recorded new music while incarcerated at Angola Prison, Lil Soulja Slim has confirmed in an AllHipHop exclusive interview that he recorded music with C-Murder while the TRU Records founder was on house arrest.

Lil Soulja Slim, son of the late New Orleans rapper Soulja Slim, is a collaborator on the new Penitentiary Chances project in dispute which is executive produced by Manuel “M.O.” Ortiz and C-Murder’s daughter, Chelsea Miller available on jpay.com.

News of C-Murder’s new song “Dear Supreme Court” featuring Calliope Bub debuted here on AllHipHop and has since caused an uproar with prison officials.

“I was working with C on a few things that were already recorded and we’re gonna put that out,” Lil Soulja Slim told AllHipHop in an exclusive interview.  “Of course I talk to C, that’s big dog. Him and my pops had a nice relationship, so we holla, I mean I can’t really speak on that situation because for years he’s been innocent, so I really don’t know much more to say. I know when C was on house arrest we did music together. I was a little younger when we first started linking, but he a real solid dude in my book, he always been real with me. Free C-Murder,Free B.G..”

C-Murder, born Corey Miller, was found guilty by a jury in 2003. C-Murder got a re-trial in 2007, but once again a jury convicted the rapper, issued an automatic life sentence at Angola Prison . Since then, two appeals have been denied and the Louisiana Supreme Court upheld C-Murder’s conviction.

In addition to his work with C-Murder, Lil Soulja Slim is in a group with Juvenile’s son Lil Juve  and B.G.’s son T.Y. dubbed, The Ghetto Children.

The guys are featured as a young crew of robbers in the new Curren$y movie Revolver that released just last week.

“We actually just shot a documentary on some legacy s###, all of us together in a group, The Ghetto Children,” Lil Soulja Slim said.

“It’s cool you know, it really just bring the stress off one artist. One person don’t have to come up with the whole song, we just feed of each other’s energy, and we put ideas in each other’s heads, that’s kind of the plus,  always having people that you can really work with.”

“My single that I’m pushing is called ‘Everyday’ and features T.Y., Son of a Gangsta.” Lil Soulja Slim said of his solo song with B.G.’s son.  “The Ghetto Children project is going to come out in June, we were just featured in Curren$y’s new movie ‘Revolver’ and I played in the robbery scene with T.Y., Young Juve. T.Y. turned his back on us really, he killed us in the end when we went and hit that lick.”

Lil Soulja Slim’s project  ‘Life of A Soulja 3’ is set to release this April. Fans of the rapper can check him at Labor Day weekend in Miami where he has performances scheduled.
