Twin Brothers AJ and SJ Jackson Want To Educate You With Their TCOHH.org App

AJ and SJ Jackson are not your typical brothers. Not only are they identical twins, but they are businessmen who are seeking to make a difference in young artists’ lives with their website, The College Of Hip Hop (TheCollegeOfHipHop.org).

I crossed paths with the twins because I own a domain name/website that has a similar name (CollegeHipHop.com).

We felt each other out to make sure we were on the same page in terms of working to differentiate our brands in the marketplace, while peacefully co-existing together. We even coming up with some ideas to work together in the future.

Once we figured that out, I took a little time to get to know the brothers. Not only do they have a cool product, their past is just as interesting as well.

While their brand may be relatively, new, AJ and SJ Jackson are no strangers to Hip-Hop.

The Jackson brothers grew up without their parents involved in their lives, and started getting into serious trouble together by the age of 10, which landed them a stint in juvenile prison.

But thanks to Hip-Hop, the brothers evolved into young men with outstanding work ethics, despite the absence of any parental figures in their lives throughout their formative years.

The Jackson’s hustled for years as members of the underground rap group “Identical,” a group that was influenced by Esham, Eazy-E and Ice Cube, which landed on the cover of Murder Dog’s 18th Anniversary Edition.

But AJ and SJ wanted something more, and after earning Associate Degrees, they decided to quit rap and develop something that aspiring artists could use as a utility and gain knowledge from.

So, the brothers set about coming up with a solution they felt would address the market’s needs. After authoring their first book “10 Steps to profit from your Passion.”

AJ and SJ Jackson have set their sights on conquering the app world, with the launch of their latest offering, The College of Hip Hop App (TCOHH.org).

The brothers are aiming to turn their app into a one stop source for entertainment education and teaching new artists the business skills they will need in an ever-evolving industry.

The app teaches users seeking knowledge about the intricacies of the business with a number of tools for learning about copyrights, publishing, working with ASCAP and BMI, setting budgets and more.

The College of Hip Hop APP is available on Android (Google Play), IOS Apple (App Store), Blackberry and the Amazon app Networks.

AJ and SJ Jackson

AllHipHop.com: Where are you guys from?

SJ: We are from a place called Inkster, Michigan. We are 20 minutes out of Detroit. The thing about Inkster is, the group The Marvelettes, who had the song “Please Mr. Postman,” a black billionaire named Don Barden is from there, we got Tyrone Wheatley who is from Inkster Michigan and Olympic gold-medallist Earl Jones, so Inkster has put out a lot of good talent.

AllHipHop.com: So what was it like growing up in the area? In school and particular for you guys?

SJ: We grew up with not your typical “rough story.” We’ve been on our own since we were 14 years old. We had to be responsible at such an early age.

AllHipHop.com: Why were you guys on your own at such an early age?

SJ: Conflict in the home, my mom wasn’t doing well physically, and we were a handful. We were two twin boys. By the time we were 10-years-old, we were rapping and catching cases.

AllHipHop.com: What? Catching cases at 10?

SJ: The first case we ever caught was together, when we were in third grade. And it was for felonious assault. I had a knife, and I pulled it out on somebody.

AllHipHop.com: Where was your father through all of this?

SJ: My father was a drug addict, so he was in the streets and my mother had got sick, it was just us to do whatever we wanted. We had guidance, but we were looking up to the older guys that were 14, 15, and emulating them, and that’s how we grew up, around older guys.

By the time we touch high school, were living on our own, paying our own bills, and there were no curfew and there were no “no’s.”

AllHipHop.com: Wow, this doesn’t fit the image I had of Inkster after hearing all of the names that came from the city, but tell me a little more about the city.

AJ: There are two projects in a two-mile radius of each other. It’s middle to low-income. Our city exists because of The Ford Motor Company. The CEO, they didn’t want the black people and the whites to go to school together. There’s a city in Michigan called Allen Park. The white people who worked at Ford Motor Company, they moved to Allen Park, So there two schools to go to. The Black people that were coming from Mississippi, Alabama, and Georgia, they migrated to Inkster and their kids went to Inkster schools. That’s why we (the city) even exists. So the Black people and the white people’s children would not integrate at school.

AllHipHop.com: So what did you go through catching a case at the age of 10?

SJ: Go to juvenile court, and you sit in front of like a magistrate. It’s really just the kitty jail. Instead of sending us to juvenile, we were on probation for a little while. We walked that down, got off probation. The thing about my brother and I, is that we were super smart, but were never the ones to play with. You got to think, we are identical twins. So anytime anybody ever came to fight us, they would need at least four people, anytime anything ever happened, it always had to be a multitude of people, to deal with us for the simple fact that I was born with my best friend. So our reputation has started to grow, we were running with the big boys, we were rapping, we were getting in trouble, but when you see us, we were these two little dudes.

That’s all we knew. But now that we have kids, we have conversations like, “there’s no way I would want my 10-year-old doing that.” But at the same time, there’s no way I would change some of the things that happened to us in our life, because that’s what made us who we are and that’s what gave us our grind.

AllHipHop.com: In high school, you had your own jobs and your own apartment so you were funding your own lives?

AJ: Yes, in high school we had a four bedroom home, so it was weird for us to hear people say things like “I have got to ask my mom.” And then they come over our house and people really couldn’t believe it. I remember when I was a senior in high school, my English teacher still lived at home with her parents. And I didn’t live at home with mine.

But we worked hard, and had jobs. We were never drug dealers. Seeing what crack did to my father, no matter how much money, we were on the other side of that.

We were not above doing anything, and we can work with our hands thanks to my grandfather and so no matter how much money, we were on the other side of that.

AJ and SJ Jackson

AllHipHop.com: So did you guys actually go to college?

SJ: Yes but after high school, We didn’t go directly to college. I have an Associates Degree in information technology and technical writing, and AJ has an Associates Degree in business, in addition to a little studying for secondary education.

But we didn’t go straight to college after high school, we went to the community college which everybody knows is like “13th grade.”

AllHipHop.com: So how did you guys create this app/brand?

SJ: We were rappers. The name of our group was “More Identical.” We had been going to all of these music conferences for years. It was the beginning of the Ohio Hip-Hop Awards week. We were staying and watching everybody perform and checking out the panels.

But when the panelists came to talk about the actual business, all the rappers always leave. Doesn’t matter where it’s at, or who is throwing it [the conference]. We were driving back, and we decided we didn’t want to rap anymore. We wanted to push the culture forward.

On our neighborhood, we were the guys people came to about information on BMI, and ASCAP and publishing. We were the guys to come to get if you had an independent deal on on the table, we might help you write your contract. One Christmas, my dad asked us “What do y’all want?” I told him we wanted these two books, The Koran and “This Business Of Music” by M. William Krasilovsky and Sidney Shemel.

AJ: Once we decided we weren’t going to rap anymore, we started working on TheCollegeOfHipHop.org (TCOHH.org). Before we released the app, it was a subscription-based site. But people weren’t gravitating towards it. So we released a book in 2015, titled “10 Steps to Profit From Your Passion.” The app was the gradual evolution.

AllHipHop.com: So what is the concept of the app?

AJ: The app contains weekly information, as well as a section for seminars. So you can listen to audio seminars, just plug it up and listen. So right now we have free information on copyright laws, BMI, ASCAP, encoding, and business tax ID’s.

There’s also a resource guide. The guide takes you to all of the forms that you need. The basic concept of TCOHH.org’s app is to be a one stop shop for entertainment education.

AllHipHop.com: What can people gain by downloading the app? Is it free? If they have to pay with you they get it if they pay for it?

AJ: It’s free. And what you gain from the app is knowledge. When you deal with an artist, their favorite go to line is “my manager does that.” We cannot understand why someone is in a business and they are not educated on that business.

SJ: I can’t go to a doctor if he’s not been educated. This business has all kinds of hard stories. You know the big thing is “you get f##ked on your first deal.” You never really hear other people say that. So we said, “the only reason you got f##ked is because you don’t know your worth and you don’t know your worth because you’re not educating yourself.” So we are going to educate you on these things.

I hate when people say the rap “game.” That’s why you’re getting the results you’re getting, because you’re treating it as the rap “game.” No, it’s the entertainment business.

Joey Bada$$ Returns With A New Single “Front & Center”

After a short hiatus, Pro Era captain Joey Bada$$ returns with a fresh new single titled “Front & Center,” with production handled by Cookin’ Soul. This serves as the first release of Joey’s upcoming album “ABBA,” which still has yet to secure a release date.

As he closes out the last few weeks of tour with ScHoolboy Q, the Brooklyn rapper recently discussed the new LP with Wild 94.1, stating;

“This new project is very powerful, that’s the best thing I can say about it – it’s very strong music. It’s like hella vegetables. It’s hella good for you, and it’s almost my hesitance with it – the fact that it’s so good for you, because these kids these days want candy.”

Does Jaheim Really Want To Fight Charlamagne Tha God Over Joe Budden Rumors?

Uh oh! Rumor has it that Jaheim’s beef with Charlamagne The God is not just about Jaheim’s latest hairstyle drama.

Jaheim’s beef with Charlamagne is allegedly deeper than we thought. Apparently Jaheim was mad at Charlamagne for conducting an interview with Joe Budden and accusing Joe of carrying on a sexual relationship with Jaheim.

According to Charlamagne, the rumor was that “Joe Budden was f##king Jaheim.”

Jaheim says Charlamagne disrespected him with that comment.

According to Jaheim, there’s no beef, but he says “Charlene Tha Goddess” will have to see him face-to-face so they can have their words.

2016 has been one hell of a year man. SMH. LOL!

Suge Says Dr. Dre Hired A Hitman To Kill Him Over $300 Million Beats Debt

(AllHipHop News) Imprisoned Death Row Records founder Marion “Suge” Knight has filed a lawsuit against Dr. Dre, claiming he hired a hitman to kill him.

Suge also claims he was cheated out of hundreds of millions of dollars, when Dre sold Beats to Apple.

TMZ.com reports that Suge just filed new court documents claiming he had Dr. Dre signed to a lifetime deal which would have entitled him to 30% of the $1 billion Dre made when Apple bought Beats By Dre for $3 billion dollars in May of 2014.

The lawsuit claims instead of paying Suge his $300 million cut, Dre instead hired a hitman named T-Money to murder Suge.

Suge was shot seven times inside of 1 Oak in August of 2014, and he claims the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department took a statement from a man named T-Money, who claimed Dr. Dre had paid him to kill Suge.

When that plot failed, Suge claims Dre and Universal paid Cle “Bone” Sloan $300,000 to make Suge go away.

Suge ended up running over Bone and another man named Terry Carter, who died from his injuries, claiming he was afraid the men were going to kill him.

In addition to Dr. Dre, Apple, Universal and Tam’s Burgers are named in the lawsuit.

Suge is currently being held on $10 million bail fighting charges that include murder, attempted premeditated murder, hit and run resulting in death, and hit and run resulting in injury.

Lil Flip Surprises A Student Stabbed In School Over Shoes (VIDEO)

(AllHipHop News) A Colorado student got a big surprise from one of his favorite rappers.

Kyler Davila of Carmel Middle School was able meet Lil Flip after the young boy was hospitalized for a collapsed lung after being stabbed in the hallway at school.

Flip found out about Kyler being bullied for not being able to wear regular shoes, and the “Game Over” rhymer decided to visit his fan.

The Houston representative is also donating footwear as part of Kyler’s mission to collect shoes for other kids who are getting bullied.

“I had three pairs of shoes donated to me, because I was being bullied about my shoes, and I really liked the feeling,” said Kyler. “I didn’t want other kids to get bullied because of their shoes, and I wanted other kids to have that same feeling, so I started collecting them for other kids.”

Jay Z Hosting “Get Out and Vote” Concert On Behalf Of Hillary Clinton

(AllHipHop News) Hip-Hop superstar Jay Z will flex his political muscles on behalf of Democratic Presidential candidate, Hillary Clinton.

According to BuzzFeed, Jay Z is planning a “get out and vote” concert with the aim of mobilizing young Black voters.

While the exact day has not been finalized, sources have stated that Jay Z will host the benefit concert in Cleveland.

Jay Z has now officially endorsed Hillary Clinton, while his wife Beyoncé  already lent her star power to Hillary in September of 2015, during a $2,700-per-ticket Clinton fundraising event.

In 2012, Jay also campaigned on behalf of President Barack Obama’s bid for re-election during a benefit concert that was cool headlined by Bruce Springsteen.

Lil Wayne Thought About Killing Himself While He Was In Jail

(AllHipHop News) Rapper Lil Wayne contemplated suicide during his eight-month stint at Rikers Island prison in New York in 2010.

The star has detailed his darkest days in his new book “Gone ‘Til November,” which features the journals he wrote behind bars while serving a gun possession sentence, revealing he almost ended his life.

He also details his depression in a rap featured on Solange Knowles’ new tune “Mad.”

In his book, he writes about one day he spent sleeping in his cell:

“I ended up thinking about all types of s##t. One thing that stood out was how I’ve never been this close to suicide before. It’s truly a new reality for me.

“I was actually there when this kid that was in mental isolation tried to hang up. What’s really f##ked up is that it all could’ve been prevented if the (correctional officers) would’ve just brought him some water.

“Nobody really attends to him because they are used to them banging on their cells all the time yelling s##t… And being that they’re so used to them banging, they didn’t pay him any mind and by the time they got back there, he was trying to kill himself.

“And because I was in jail, I was like, ‘Damn, that n##ga is crazy… Oh well, what are we eating tonight?’ Jail desensitizes a lot of things. The reality in here is so harsh. I will never understand how anyone could think that this s##t is cool.”

Is Future To Blame For Scottie Pippen’s Divorce?

Uh oh! Say it ain’t so: Future is out here breaking up “happy” homes! Either way, we know the Future Hive is going to be here for this one.

It seems like Future’s cozy relationship with Scottie Pippen’s wife, Larsa Pippen, may have caused their divorce.

According to TMZ, sources on both Scottie and Larsa’s side have revealed that Larsa has been jumping on Future’s private jet and traveling with him to various cities. The insiders are also claiming the two were together last month in Vegas, and they were spotted getting pretty intimate at the Komodo nightclub in Miami.

Allegedly, Future and Larsa met at an event in Miami and have been spotted numerous times together since. Apparently their “fling” started after Larsa allegedly sought revenge on Scottie for flirting with an actress.

We don’t know why she would choose Future for the revenge. Even if she was being revengeful, she certainly couldn’t have wanted anything serious from Mr. “I just f-cked yo b-tch in some Gucci flip flops” and Mr. “That’s your wifey; I think I like her.”

Future is so reckless LOL!.

Pleasure P Says Tyga Is A “Punk” & Doesn’t Respect Him For Conducting Bad Business

(AllHipHop News) Pleasure P is once again blasting his “I Love Girls” collaborator Tyga.

The former Pretty Ricky member discussed his personal problems with Tyga while appearing on the Domenick Nati Show.

“He’s a punk,” said Pleasure P about the California rapper. “I got to know him when he was first going around [Lil] Wayne, so this is somebody I been around.”

The man also known as Marcus Cooper went on to say he does not respect Tyga.

“Me and him did a song together. He just wasn’t honorable to his word when it was time to really do things to push the record or to do the video,” stated Pleasure P.

The 31-year-old performer added, “I ain’t trying to sound bitter. But business is business. If I’m a man and I’m going to give you my word when it comes to business, then that’s all I have. Why waste somebody’s time?”

In 2015, Pleasure P made fun of Tyga over rumors he was involved in a transgender woman.

Kanye West To Boycott The Grammys Over This Artist?

Well Queen Beyonce isn’t the only person Kanye West will go to war for!

Kanye announced at his recent Saint Pablo tour stop in Oakland, California that if Frank Ocean’s two albums “Endless” and “Blonde” aren’t nominated for a Grammy, then he will be boycotting the awards show.

West accuses The Grammys of bending the rules for artists like Lady Gaga, and he believes Ocean deserves the same treatment. Ye wants all artists to stand together when artists are being treated unfairly.

News hit earlier this month that Frank’s albums are ineligible for consideration for this year’s Grammy Awards because they weren’t submitted within the deadline. Honestly, I’m not sure that either should’ve been nominated quality wise, but that’s none of my business lol.

Here’s what Ye had to say at his show,

“I don’t know if any of y’all remember, I was supposed to go on tour with [Lady] Gaga. Like about, 6, 7 — a while back. I remember, it was something where she was nominated… She wasn’t nominated for best new artist, right? But they wanted her to perform at the show, they wanted her to open. So the Grammys secretly changed something about the nominations to nominate her in order for her to perform in the show.

Now, Frank Ocean on the other hand is very vocal wasn’t nominated for the Grammys. Since he’s vocal, no one wants to say nothing about it. No one wants to do nothing about it. I’m saying this to y’all, because a lot of people try to make a scene like, ‘I’m so self-centered.’ But the album I listened to the most this year is Frank Ocean’s album. And I’ll tell you this right now: if his album’s not nominated in no categories, I’m not showing up to the Grammys. As artists, we gotta come together to fight the bullsh-t they been throwing us with. All we need is a fair shot. Let the album lose, let whoever win or lose. My whole point, my purpose, my existence, everything that people try to diss me for is based on just an instant replay plot. Imagine in sports they didn’t have no instant replay plot, and someone could step completely out of bounds.”

Foxy Brown Responds To Nicki Minaj Bowing Down To Lauryn Hill

(AllHipHop News) Throughout her career, Nicki Minaj has dealt with criticism over claims she does not pay homage to the female rappers that came before her.

The Queens spitter helped to end that critique at the TIDAL X: 1015 concert when she showed love to the legendary Lauryn Hill.

Nicki posted an Instagram video of her meeting Ms. Hill backstage, and the “Only” rapper even bowed down at the feet of the multiple Grammy winner.

Another well-known woman in Hip Hop appreciated Minaj’s act of respect for Lauryn.

Foxy Brown took to her own IG page to publicly acknowledge Nicki.

She wrote:

Laugh When They Say She Never Gives It Up To The “GREATS” Cuz She’s Humbly Bowed To Both#LBOOGIE (My Fav) & #FOXBOOGIEPublicly!?
Maybe Y’all Mad B-tches Just Aren’t Who She Considers “The Bar”➖
(FB Lingo lol?)
*FYI: Nic Knows I’d Never Thro My “WO” On No Collabo Wit Less Than Greatness Tho!??

For many years, Lil Kim fans were among the most vocal critics about Nicki supposedly not paying tribute to the Queen Bee.

Kim even referred to Nicki as a clone on her diss track “Black Friday.”

Foxy’s “maybe y’all mad b-tches just aren’t who she considers ‘The Bar'” could be perceived as a shot at Kim, but the Brooklyn native also shouted out her longtime rival last year.

“(Personal S**t Aside) Music Will Never See Another FOX & KIM Period!” stated the Fox.

During a 2013 interview with Hot 97, Nicki even mentioned Lil Kim – as well as Lauryn Hill, Foxy Brown, Remy Ma, Missy Elliott, and Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes – as one of her all-time favorite female rap stars.

“With Foxy, Kim, and Remy, they were all from New York too. It’s no disrespect to any other female rappers, but those are the ones that I felt like, ‘Yeah, I could get into that,'” said Minaj at the time.

Rapper Remy Ma on Her First Night Out Of Jail

Rapper and star of Love & Hip Hop New York Remy Ma hinted at a Christmas release date for her new album, Plata o Plomo, on a recent episode of TV Talk show “The Real” with hosts Tamera Mowry-Housley, Loni Love, Jeannie Mai and Adrienne Bailon.

Remy candidly remembered her first night out of jail and how she hadn’t even heard of Snapchat or Instagram.

During the show, the “Cookin’” rapper channels her alter ego, “Remy Ma-rtha Stewart” and shares D-I-Y tips for the fall.

Loni Love: Once you were released, how long did it take for you to get back into the studio?

Remy Ma: I went to the studio literally like an hour after I was home.

Adrienne Bailon: What?

Remy: Yeah, I went home. I took a shower. I changed my clothes and I went right to the studio. I was in there with DJ Khaled.

Jeannie Mai: Had to get it out of you.

Remy MaRemy: I was like, I don’t want to have that time period where I’m adjusting [uses air quotes.] I’m going right now and I went that day. We made the remix to his song and it was great.

Loni: How was it getting back into the studio?

Remy: It was a little bit different because I put on the headphones. As ya’ll see, I have like this female Barry White thing going on. As I get older, my voice gets deeper. So when I first listened to it, I was like “Oh my God. Why do I sound like this?” It was just so… such a different sound. I had all this depth and richness like sounding like I smoke cigarettes all day. When I heard the finished one, I was like, “Oh, I kind of sound a little bit more gangster.” It was cool, but it was just the first time going in, I’m like “Okay, well what is everyone else going to say? Are they going to hate it? Are they going to not like it?” But the response was everything that I could ask for.

Loni: And you know DJ Khaled is always on Snapchat. Did he Snapchat?

Remy: DJ Khaled snapchats you on site. Like he will snapchat before he says, “hello.” He walk up to you with the camera like this [acts like she is holding phone.] So I didn’t know what Snapchat was. I didn’t know what Instagram was. I didn’t know what Twitter was. None of these things existed prior to me then. I had a iPhone and I was sitting there like, [imitates pushing buttons on phone.] “Can I just get a phone with buttons?” It was crazy!

Drake Receives Backlash For Dissing Kid Cudi While He’s In Rehab For Depression (POLL)

(AllHipHop News) Did Drake go too far with his recent bars directed at Kid Cudi?

“You were the man on the moon, now you go through your phases,” rapped Drake on “Two Birds, One Stone.”

Those lines were a response to Cudi criticizing the OVO leader over allegedly having a high number of co-writers.

At the moment, the Man On The Moon album creator is in rehab for depression.

Cudi publicly admitted to having suicidal thoughts as well.

Many social media users were not pleased that Drake appeared to diss Cudi about having serious mental health issues.

Cudi also called out Kanye West during his Twitter rant about rappers with writers.

After first throwing shots back at Cudi, Ye later called his one-time protégé the “most important artist of the past ten years,” and the G.O.O.D. Music boss said, “I hope he’s doing well.”

What are your thoughts on Drake’s diss towards Cudi? Take our poll below.

Cassidy: I’m The Best Rapper, Period (VIDEO)

(AllHipHop News) Cassidy is making the rounds to promote his new mixtape BARbarian.

During an interview with ThisIs50, the Philadelphia native spoke about his place in Hip Hop.

“I consider myself the best, period. Not Philly, you can put all the states in it, and all of the countries and continents in it, all of the other planets involved,” said Cass.

He continued, “If they got alien n-ggas that’s supposed to be hot, you can put all of them n-ggas in it, and I’m better than all of them n-ggas.”

Drake Disses Pusha T And Kid Cudi With Others Are Collateral Damage

(AllHipHop News) The Clipse / Young Money beef just won’t die and Drake has returned fire to Pusha T.

The Canadian released “Two Birds, One Stone,” a subtle response Pusha T’s recently released “H.G.T.V.” The song takes aim at both Pusha T and Kid Cudi, who also dissed Kanye West in a social media rant.

With out mentioning Pusha T’s name, Drake says:

But really it’s you with all the drug dealer stories / That’s gotta stop though / You made a couple chops and now you think you Chapo / If you ask me though you ain’t lining in the trunk with kilo’s / You bagging weed with all your n##### watching Pacino / Like ‘This is what we need to be on,’ but never went live / You middle man in this s###, you were never those guys.

This is the lead song from a new Drake project called More Life, due later this year.

Here are the song lyrics, courtesy of Genius.

[Verse 1: Drake]
More time with family and friends, more life
More time to get it right
It’s only me but I’m seeing four shadows in the light
My demons visit me every night
To the most high I’m forever indebted, I know I gotta pay something
I know that day’s coming
I put it all in the music cause if I don’t stay ahead I won’t say nothing
Could feel my hand getting tired from holding the grudges
Two birds, one stone, my aim is amazing
I need to start loosing my s### just to show you n##### who hatin’
To reversed like I called ahead for me and my lady
Free C5, how the f### we got the boss waiting
Every since the blue basement I found god and lost patience
Between rocks and hard places of all places
Spotted everywhere like Dalmatian
Cops snoop around cause all my dogs famous
Please welcome the October fall baby
Von Road Academy, star player
My minds not all there
Used to carry a lot of dead weight like a pallbearer
People too scared to tell the truth so it’s all dare
Counted us all there and we all square
Quick money, I’m in and out
My dad used to use a soap bar till it’s thinning out
But s###, look at Dennis now
All Stacy Adams and linnen’d out
More blessings for Sandy and him, more life
My parents never got it right, but
God bless em both, I think we all alike
We all wide awake late at night
Thinking on what to change if we do get to do it twice in a another life
Scared to go to sleep now cause being awake is what all my dreams were like
Back when the bar I set for myself was out of sight
Tell me how I went and did chin ups on this s### when I can’t sit
Pin ups of Megan Good and Pam Grier, soul sisters
Inspired my old scriptured
Now that feeling gone like them old pictures
Mixed liquors got us both twisted
Words get so viscous, you just stare at me while you roll swishes
Girl I love you but I don’t miss you
And now matter what year it is I’m an old 6’er
Go figure, colder, stay in school man
F### the rap game, it’s all lies and it’s all filthy
2 percent of us rich and the rest of these n##### are all milky
Got two of my n##### off on the not guilty
Gave back to the city and never said
If I didn’t live it but still they try to tell you I’m not the realest
Like I’m some privileged kid
Like it was handed to me, top of the ribbon
I never worked to get it
But really it’s you with all the drug dealer stories that’s gotta stop though
You made a couple chops and now you think you Chapo
If you ask me though you ain’t lining in the trunk with kilo’s
You bagging weed with all your n##### watching Pacino
Like “this is what we need to be on,” but never went live
You middle man in this s###, you were never those guys
I can tell cause I look most of you dead in the eyes
And you be trying to tell that story for the rest of your lives
Can’t show us where the cash is
Me, I don’t judge, I just go off the math is, numbers inflated
But you never went lie
They all look at me like what have you done for me lately
I like your older s### but wasn’t in love with the newer stuff
Awe baby, stop debating, I’m just a creative
My numbers are out of the world, no wonder they got me feeling so alienated
You were the man on the moon, now you go through your phases
Life of the angry and famous
Rap like I know I’m the greatest and give you the tropical flavors
Still never been on hiatus
You stay xan and perked up so when reality set in you don’t gotta face it
I’m down 200 in Vegas but winning in life on the daily
It seems like no one wants to stay in my good graces
I’m like a real estate agent, putting you n##### in your places
Look what happens soon as you n##### talk to me crazy
Is you crazy

In the song, Barnes croons:

He only was a child

You took away his smile

You really think you’re god, but you’re not

What made you take a life

Another sacrifice

We got you on the web, now you’re dead

Jerry Barnes has a storied legacy in music. he presently tours with Nile Rodgers and Chic, but has also recorded with other legends.  Jerry Barnes has produced, performed and written for artists like Roberta Flack, Chaka Khan, Carly Simon, Ashanti, Stevie Wonder, Patti Labelle, Latifah, Diana Ross, Sting, Phylis Hyman, Tony Terry, Maya, Bebe Winans, Bette Midler, Arif Mardin, and even rappers like  Nas, Rich Boy and AZ.

Barnes hopes the song will inspire change in thinking. “The song means All of the worlds atrocities ( especially U.S. Police killings of innocent people of color) are being filmed by people’s cell phones And their time of getting away with it is over,” he said.

Half of the proceeds for “Justice” goes to Doctors Without Borders, the humanitarian aid organization. He has also jump started a fund raising effort.

“The KickStarter is a way for me – 54 year old Black man without a label – to do my art and music freely without the traditional roadblocks,” he told AllHipHop. “And have the ability to pay for some production costs,
PR and social media marketing. No amount is too small.”

Timmy Gauge – Brandy Flow (Official Video)

Coram, New York produced new artist Timmy Gauge. Timmy Gauge touches base with the hatred of love and fights the voices in his head by drowning in drunk inspiration.

He passionately began freestyle at 9 years old until he discovered a talent to spill his emotions onto paper.

Writing presented a clear path through depression and anxiety and allowed him to move forward and now offers any one who listens a chance to move with him.

Timmy Gauge tells a story in every track worth paying attention to and every one track somebody can relate to. Each story may be his only vice aside the bottle next to his mic stand.

Timmy Gauge is violently creative and determined to make aware the city’s violence, death and drugs and coping with the loss from it all.

His latest video “Brandy Flow” releases creative talent from a few Coram City Boys as Timmy Gauge expresses his different point of view and being himself while going through the motions.
