Nore: Micheal Jordan Hates Rap Music

I know this is gonna cause some of you to cry and others to throw away your Jordans (sike), but Michael Jordan hates rap music. Stories like this have been told over and over and over. And there are more. Nore is the latest to tell about it. Nore says that he was in shooting a video for “Oh No” and there was a shot at a Roy Jone, Jr. fight that had MJ in the audience. Jordan refused to let them use his likeness in the video. But, there’s more. In an interview, Nore says straight up: “Jordan is a hater of Hip-Hop.” There were several rappers at the shoot, but Jay Z is the only one that Jordan would speak to.

“I seen him shut Redman down at a Def Jam Christmas party,” he said. “We were all sitting there waiting to speak to Michael Jordan. n*ggas said, ‘Yo, Redman and Method Man is here.’ [MJ] said, ‘fu*k rap.’ I seen the n*gga say that…Quote me. I believe it was Redman and Method Man, and I’m to the side, so I can directly hear his voice. He was like, ‘fu*k rap.’ That sh*t hurt me. Def Jam Christmas party, Mariah Carey hosting and sh*t like that. He only spoke to Hov, but he spoke to Hov. That’s without a doubt.”

Ya’ll still wanna rock them Jordans?

Wiz Hints He Still Has Animosity Towards Kanye In GQ Article

Just when you thought this situation died down, in an article that aired in GQ today (March 22nd), Wiz Khalifa shed light on his  feelings regarding Kanye and the Twitter battle that started over Kanye’s Max B’s Waves album title.

In the interview which was reportedly the Saturday night before the Super Bowl, GQ tries to dig up Wiz’s emotions on the Kanye, KK, Kim, Amber situation to little avail.

GQ did get a few quotes from the “See You Again” rapper on the Twitter argument ‘heard round the world, check them out below

Excerpts and reported dialogue paraphrased between GQ and Wiz Khalifa:

GQ:  “Any regret in starting the fight?”

Wiz Khalifa: “Why would I?” “…it’s done and over with, so it don’t even matter.”

GQ: “Was that a long conversation [With Kanye West]?”

Wiz Khalifa: “Nah. I keep s### brief. But for him, it’s no animosity, so it ain’t even no thing.”

GQ: “Did he apologize?

Wiz Khalifa: “Mm-hmm.”

GQ: Did you?

Wiz Khalifa: “I have nothing to apologize for.”

As of the start of last month, the Twitter feud between Kanye West and Wiz Khalifa was reported over, but this interview was just days after the dispute was reportedly called off with phone calls, Tweets, pic in IG and more. The Super Bowl was February 7th, this was February 6th.

Kanye even announced on Twitter that he talked to the Taylor Gang leader, and Wiz told 94.1 the beef had been settled.

The Pittsburgh rhymer also revealed to Bootleg Kev that his ex-wife Amber Rose and Kanye’s wife Kim Kardashian spoke with each other as well.

EXCLUSIVE: Mac Dre’s Mother Speaks On ‘Legend Of The Bay’ Film; Credits Drake With Helping Her Honor Mac Dre’s Legacy

(AllHipHop News) Today undisputed Bay Area music legend and godfather to the Hyphy movement, Mac Dre has a new documentary out on iTunes, Amazon and LegendOfTheBay.com.

The film includes never-before-seen concert footage, home movies, exclusive interviews with Mac Dre’s friends, family, and big-name artists such as Wiz Khalifa, Tech N9ne, Warren G, and many more speaking on the Bay legend.

The movie is co-produced by his family and details the rapper’s life as a stylistic innovator and staunch proponent of individuality.   Even twelve years after his passing, his iconic sound and exuberant persona continue to have a major influence on local Hip-Hop culture in The Bay.

In light of the hype surrounding the movie’s digital release, AllHipHop spoke with Mac Dre’s Mother about the documentary and her son’s impact on Hip-Hop music.

“For a while up, for I’d say up to about 8 years after he passed, his daughter and I kind of like went into seclusion.   As you know, we were really depressed, really hurt and really traumatized by his death and everything.  The hard part for us was we didn’t really get a chance to grieve or mourn privately, because once he got killed he became an even bigger public figure.” Mac Wanda told AllHipHop.com in an exclusive interview.

Cultural outsiders may not understand the level to which Bay Area rap fans worship Mac Dre, but Toronto rapper Drake himself took the time to talk with Mac Wanda about her son’s influence on his own life a few years back.

“I had been approached by a lot of people to do movies, to do books, to do this and to do that, and interviews and for years I turned it down. I didn’t want to do it – I couldn’t do it. So I stopped everything and I purposefully didn’t want to monetize or capitalize on any of it because I was hurt. But in the last few years – to be honest it may have all started when I got that call from Drake and that was three years ago,” she said.

“I met with Drake in San Francisco we sat down and he talked with me about how Mac Dre impacted his life and his career, what he’s doing and the big impact that Mac Dre had when Drake was a young boy. So listening to that, it kind of opened up my eyes that maybe I do need to do this. If Andre was alive he would definitely be capitalizing and making as much money as he could.”

Over the course of his career Mac Dre became a symbol for unapologetic self-expression as well as regional pride, even after his untimely death in 2004. Mac’s checkered background and rumored role in the famous Bay Area Romper Room Gang garnered Mac a great deal of attention as Mac quickly became an influential force in early West-Coast Hip-Hop.

“I finally got to the point where I could look at it from that point of view. In the recent years I’ve been more accepting of monetizing the legend, the name and I’ve formed Andre Lewis Enterprise Company, I’ve really owned Thizz Entertainment and that business. For a long time I was not proud of it, but I am now and I think that conversation started with Drake, and with other up-and-coming entertainers like the Jabbawockeez. They told me how they emulate Mac Dre with a Mac Dre skit to start their show”

In 1992 Mac Dre was convicted of conspiracy to commit bank robbery and his lyrics were used against him in court.  When he left prison with a new lease on life, Mac founded an independent record company Thizz Entertainment, but was then tragically murdered just when he began to emerge as a superstar.

At the time of his death Mac Dre was just 34; Mac Dre would have been 46 this year.

Look out for more on Mac Dre in Part 2 of our exclusive interview with Mac Dre’s mother, Mac Wanda later this week.

Trinidad James Recruits Mystikal, DJ Mustard And Lil Dicky For Ode To Plus-Sized Women

After this year’s Sports Illustrated included a round of plus sized models in their Swimsuit Edition covers, it only makes sense to add this new Trinidad James and DJ Mustard’s song to the mix. Might this be the Summer of the “Just A Lil Thick” chick?

This one is for the “175 and up club” says Trinidad James on the intro. The ATL rapper and former Def Jam rapper also gets the assist from Mystikal, Lil Dicky and of course DJ Mustard on the production.

Mystikal is wild as ever, Lil Dicky surprises with lit verse and Mustard laced up the beat like he always does leading into the Summer.

“It feels good to be able make real records and get them appreciated,” explained James. “I’ve always paid attention to my different types of fans and one thing I do know for sure, is that my Thick Women have held me down for 3 years strong. I love all women but this one is dedicated to my Thick Queens. Thank you Love$.”

Jame$ just wrapped up his SXSW performances at the Trinidad and Tobago showcase (Buffalo Billiards) and The Sound Release (Peckerheads), and is back in his hometown of Atlanta to hold an open casting call for his “Just A Lil Thick (She Juicy)” music video.

Stay tuned as the music video is set for Atlanta’s Mansion House, a prominent event space in ATL.

How Hip-Hop Helped Obama Get A Foot In Havana, Cuba

(AllHipHop News) Yesterday President Barack Obama landed in Cuba with the First Family and met with Cuban dictator Raul Castro.

In his meeting with the Cuban government, Obama ceremoniously re-opened the U.S. Embassy and also suggested that the U.S. lift the embargo against Cuba that has crippled the island for decades.

But how did all this come together after 95 years? How was Obama able to make this happen on his way out of office?

While much of the Caribbean country remains in a 1950’s time warp (for now), many see youth movements like Hip-Hop as a catalyst for change in Cuba.

According to an article in The Guardian in December of 2014 by Matthew Weaver, U.S. government organization (USAID) was “secretly trying to infiltrate Cuba’s underground Hip-Hop movement, according to records obtained by the Associated Press.”

Spearheaded by government contracted Creative Associates, the goal was to build a network of rappers and a community that wanted social change amongst the youth in order to spark a movement against the Cuban government.

But things didn’t go exactly as planned. As the Guardian article states, the involvement with the Hip-Hop community and USAID nearly “compromised Cuban hip-hop culture.”

The multi-million dollar initiative by (USAID) also included a Twitter strategy to further entice the youth to rebel against the government and a payment of $15,000 for an arts and music festival with musicians opposing the government.

At one point, pressure from the Cuban government stopped musicians from performing at live shows, and “one of the island’s most popular independent music festivals was taken over after officials linked it to USAID.”

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gz3w0DNmtPs

Los Aldeanos is one of the groups that was part of this (USAID) assisted movement that specifically faced scrutiny after it’s rhymes took aim at the government.

“People marching blind, you have no credibility / Go and tell the captain this ship’s sinking rapidly.” – Los Aldeanos  on “Long Live Free Cuba”

Los Aldeanos’s frontman, Aldo Rodriguez, faced continued harassment and was eventually arrested for “illegal possession of a computer” after some incendiary statements at live shows.

After numerous run-ins with the government, speaking out at concerts and other events, Los Aldeanos ended up moving to South Florida to seek asylum.

It’s clear the objective of the Obama administration is to make Cuba more transparent than ever before, by enacting the freedom of speech, freedom of press and other rights available in America.

Check it out below as the AP provides coverage of Obama meeting today (March 22) with some of the oppressed that have spoken out against the government of Cuba.

Obama talks about making sure the Cuban people have a voice, despite the fact that the U.S. and Cuba still disagree on a good number of issues related to freedom of speech and freedom of the press.

Def Jam Legend’s Son Starts Rap Career

As you know, Def Jam is full of legends from Public Enemy, LL Cool J and Onyx. On the other side there are the likes of Russell Simmons, Lyor Cohen and Rick Rubin. And then there are people like Bill Adler, the legendary publicist, historian, author and more.

AllHipHop just got the following note:

I’d like to share some news about my son and his pals. They’ve formed a rap group called Pen Ultimate. Its members are Sam Adler [p/k/a Bacon Bear], Jackson Yates [p/k/a Red Flag], and Will Neal [p/k/a Will Scrillz]. Their brand-new album is called “Album: the Mixtape.”

Sooooooo…Adler has a son that raps? Who knew? Not a shocker though. Some stuff is just in the blood. Check out “Album: The Mixtape.” The mixtape is a fun-loving version of New York Hip-Hop…so don’t go looking for Joey Bada$$ or Mobb Deep rap!

Mannie Fresh Claims There Are Still Unresolved Issues Between Lil Wayne & Birdman

Just when we thought it was all good between Birdman and Lil Wayne, Mannie Fresh says that despite their reunion on their latest track, ‘Hate’, the two Cash Money execs still have plenty of work to do on their relationship. Mannie Fresh told Genius,

“Everything is not resolved with [Birdman] and Wayne, but I overcame it by saying to them, we can resolve all that behind the curtain, but for now, let’s make music for the people. When it all started coming together, the brotherly love came out. We did the song, then, I wish you the best, we should do it more often,” said Mannie Fresh.

Mannie Fresh says he still considers them family, and in families you are going to go through your issues. He went on to say,

“If anyone was gonna put it back together, it was me.”

Wayne and Birdman certainly have history, but one would think this reunion would still be a bit awkward.

Did Drake Respond To His New Alleged Ghostwriter?

OVO rapper Mo-G has been taking shots at Drake non-stop recently. He claims to have been hired to write and record Drake’s hooks, bars, and even come up with some new flows for the 6 God. Mo-G said he would’ve kept quiet but OVO didn’t want to cut the check. A small part of us wants to believe there’s some truth in here somewhere, but the other parts feel like how can you be hired as a ghostwriter when you are terrible yourself. It looks like Drake may have responded with a subliminal shot. Drake posted a photo with a caption that said,

“The bright lights are supposed to inspire you not fry your brain.”

Drake doesn’t seem to be too bothered by the rapper’s claims. Drake has to get past his alleged “writer’s block” though lol.

Will We See A D.R.A.M & Quentin Miller Collaboration?

Photo via Quentin Miller’s Instagram

It looks like Quentin Miller and D.R.A.M. recently linked up. Fans on social media had a field day claiming that these two were responsible for the “new Drake.” We would’ve loved to hear this conversation. Remember D.R.A.M. felt that Drake jacked his “Cha Cha” song for his “Hotline Bling,” and Quentin went from saying he would never diss Drake to seemingly taking subliminal shots at the rapper from time to time. Would you be interested in hearing a D.R.A.M and Quentin Miller collaboration?

Azealia Banks Encourages Iggy Azalea To Commit Suicide

Photo via Azealia Bank’s Instagram

Everyone knows how much Azealia Banks hates Iggy Azalea, but this time the “rapper” may have gone too far. Iggy Azalea recently opened up about having suicidal thoughts as a result of all of the ridicule and hate she received online and beyond. Iggy says she actually had a psychotic breakdown, despite all of her commercial success. Azealia Banks, in her heartless nature, commented under a clip of Iggy’s interview on Power 106 saying,

“YAAS, slavemaster, drive that slave truck right off the canyon.”

SMH.

Fabolous Weighs In On Troy Ave And Joey Bada$$ Beef

(AllHipHop News) Fresh off the stage from his performance in Tampa Bay at a Spring Break concert called Wild Splash 2016, Fabolous took the time to speak with the famed Bootleg Kev for a round of Q&A.

While Fab spoke about his new album with Jadakiss (Freddy vs Jason) that will be available on both iTunes and Tidal, Fab took the time to weigh in on the Troy Ave/Joey Bada$$ beef that’s been getting headlines over the past few weeks.

According to Fab, when Fabolous first met Troy it was through the streets and he didn’t even know Troy rapped.  Since then the two have collaborated on a host of records including the fan favorite, “Only Life I Know.” (See Below)

“I worked with Troy Ave because I met him really in the streets and we built our relationship from there, and then it came out.  Actually when I met him, I didn’t even know he rapped,” Fabolous explained.

“So I just met him and we ended up clicking and then he came out of nowhere talking about he rapped and he had songs and stuff, so I tried to help him out as much as I could.”

When asked specifically about the Capital Steez line by Troy Ave, Fabolous said, “I don’t know all the specifics in it,” but weighed in further on Rap beef in 2016.

“I don’t know all the specifics in it, I don’t know all that happened. I heard Troy respond, and then I heard that one of the guys came at Troy about his album sales or something like that. So I don’t really know everything that happened really in it, and I know people are going crazy about something that Troy said, but I don’t really know all the info,” Fab said of the beef.

When Bootleg Kev then briefed him on Capital Steez’s passing a few years ago due to a reported suicide and the Troy Ave line, Fab let him know that Hip-Hop is a “competitive sport.”

“It’s a competitive sport so when people throw shots at you, you know, you gotta expect a retaliation too or a reply,” Fab said.

From there Kev and Fab kept it moving but whether you think Fab sides with Troy from their relationship in the streets, or whether Fab is neutral, Fab let it be known that rap is a sport and you better be ready.

Is Fab suggesting that anything is fair game? Let us know your thoughts below!

Young Buck Threatens To Slap Baby Mama’s Boy Friend and Allegedly Fails Another Drug Test

(AllHipHop News) G-Unit rapper Young Buck could end up behind bars, for allegedly violating the terms of his probation by threatening a man who is engaged to one of the mother’s of his children, and failing another drug test.

According to documents reported on by TheJasmineBrand.com, prosecutors want to throw the rapper back in jail after he threatened a man attempting collect on back child support owed to one of his daughters.

Prosecutors say Young Buck claimed he would “slap” and beat the man up in a series of angry texts, after the man accused the Nashville rapper of being a deadbeat dad.

When Young Buck’s P.O. got wind of the exchange, he contacted the victim, who confirmed the accounts and said he was in fear for his life after the threats of violence, because he believes the rap star associates with a gang.

The man told the P.O. that he’s in the process of getting a restraining order against Young Buck.

Young Buck was convicted of possessing a handgun and ammunition in 2013. He served 18 months in jail for the crime, but had three years of probation tacked on to his sentence to complete.

Buck, born David Darnell Brown, reached a plea agreement that kept him out of jail in August of 2015, after he was busted trying to use someone else’s urine during a drug test.

The rapper was sentenced to another 18 months’ probation, hit with a $7,500 fine and ordered to perform 100 hours of community service. He was also supposed to submit to mandatory drug testing and treatment.

According to the documents, which were filed March 18, prosecutors claim that Young Buck failed another drug test. The infractions could land the rapper back in jail for up to 14 months.

This could put a hold on the reality show Young Buck announced yesterday on social media.

More Ghostwriting?: Sh*t Just Got Realer For Drake!

Yoooooo….at first is seemed like OVO rapper Mo-G was only sending shots to Drake’s manager. Now, that seems to be very far from the truth. Today, the dude put Drake under the bus and is presently dragging his former homie with the allegations that has dogged him recently. Mo-G is stating that he was hired to write and record hooks, bars and flows for Drake. WOW! He even put the text allegedly straight from Drake in there. Now, we all know anything can be fabricated, but is this a damning accusation?

Here are some of is rhymes…thoughts?

I think Drake is getting is writing fingers back in shape for some diss records.

Well, Mo-G won’t be going to the OVO Fest anytime soon.

Is Slaughterhouse Over As A Group?

The word on the street is that Slaughterhouse might be done as a unit. Their “newest” album was done over two years ago and nothing has come out. Meanwhile, Royce Da 5’9″ is the talk of the town with his new song “Tabernacle” and saying Drake’s ghostwriters invalidate him as one of the greats. Anyway, the other members have been active in other ways. Joe has the podcast and dropped an album last year – All Love Lost. Crooked I (KXNG Crooked ) recently released Statik KXNG with producer Statik Selektah. Joell Ortiz just released a full album That’s Hip-Hop with producer Domingo. SOOOOOOOOOO….these incredibly talented dudes cannot get a release date for a group event, but have all these “smaller” project out? Why? I don’t know for certain, but source with AllHipHop say it lies with Eminem’s camp. Word is, Eminem and his manager Paul Rosenburg cannot seem to get an “industry” foothold in for the group to come out. Does that make sense? Basically, the buzz is low. I don’t think this is a case of the album being wack or anything. I personally think that the times have changed and how people see lyricists has changed as well. Others have stated that Jimmy Iovine moving from Interscope to Apple may have some bearing on it too. Lets face it, Eminem is somewhere sitting on half a billion or something, chillin’ and his guys are out here doing it for the culture. Facts.

Hopefully, Slaughterhouse returns in glorious form, but if they don’t, there is PLENTY stuff out there to support RIGHT NOW.

So…check out “Tabernacle.”

Ebro Says Charlamagne The God Tried To Come To Hot 97!

I don’t know if this is even worthy your time. So, I will be brief. Old Man Ebro claims that C Tha God tried to come from Clear Channel (Power 105) to Emmis (Hot 97) and join their morning show. I wonder..true false? Who cares?

He was trying to get rid of Ebro, which seems powerfully possible. He didn’t wanna work “under” Ebro.

Scarface Drops New Visuals For “F**k You Too”

Scarface’s Deeply Rooted is one of the real gems of 2015 and the album continues to give back. The OG Emeritus releases “F**k You Too” featuring ZRO, which shows the Houston rep has his eyes on 2016 as well.

Iggy Azalea’s Fiancé Nick Young Accused Of Harrassing Woman and Her Mom

(AllHipHop News) In a recent interview, Iggy Azalea said she left Australia and headed to the United States at the age of 16, to escape bullying.

But she could end up marrying one if a woman’s allegations prove to be true.

Her fiancé, Nick Young, is one of two players being accused of harassing a woman and her elderly mom in Hollywood over the weekend.

According to ESPN, The Los Angeles Lakers are investigating an incident involving Nick Young and Jordan Clarkson in Hollywood last Saturday (March 19).

Four men allegedly pulled up to an intersection in a jeep and shouted vulgarities and obscenities at Alexis Jones and her 68-year-old mother.

Alexis Jones is a graduate of USC and runs a nonprofit called I AM THAT GIRL. She also happens to be an activist who tries to prevent athletes from committing sexual assaults, and other abuses against women.

“They’re leaning out of the car and making vulgar, sexual gestures. My mom was really shocked. That immediately turned into sobbing,” Alexis Jones told ESPN.

Lakers head coach Byron Scott supposedly addressed the two players, but neither man has issued an apology as of press time.

The timing couldn’t be worse for Nick Young.

His soon-to-be wife, Iggy Azalea is currently promoting her new single “Team,” taken from her upcoming album Digital Distortion.

Earlier this week, she told Ryan Seacrest that her wedding to Nick Young was called off, but blamed scheduling conflicts with her tour and his basketball career.

“Any time he wants to go out with the boys, he’s like ‘This is my last summer being a bachelor!’ So he likes that. He can milk it for longer with me, so he’s excited.”

Future’s Reaction To Hearing Desiigner’s “Panda” In The Club Is Priceless

They say that imitation is the finest form of flattery, but lately the Hip-Hop world has been coming down on Desiigner for sounding a little too much like his Southern counterpart Future.  If things weren’t bad already, the Hip-Hop community will likely be up in arms about “Pluto,” a new song by Desiigner.  The song happens to also be the title to Future’s debut project with Epic that cast him into the stratosphere of the top paid rappers.

Adding fuel to the biting controversy, a video surfaced over the weekend that showed Future hearing  Desiigner’s “Panda,” in the club.  Theres just some things that you can’t plan and the reaction on Future’s face is classic like he’s seemingly hearing the song for the first time.

Check it out below as Future reacts and Desiigner performs his new song “Pluto” at the Fader Fort during SXSW – oh yea and with the Pusha T G.O.O.D. music co-sign/intro.
