Tyler and A$AP Rocky Talk Smack About Go Carts, Women and Video Games

Tyler and his Golf Radio strike again via Dash Radio and “it’s lit!” Those are the words from Rocky himself as the two chop it up about go-carts, wildn’ out on Mario Cart while on tour and the types of girls that all love Tyler.

Smoke Sesssion: Berner, Wiz, Snoop And B-Real Get Lit In New Visual

Last week Berner took us to the weed fields of Cali, this week we get smoked out with the Hip-Hop Weed Mt Rushmore if you will. First up is Berner, then Wiz laces the hook a la some 90’s R&B, then Snoop and B-Real close out the joint with nothing but heavily smoked out lyrics. It’s not just weed raps though – actually it kind of is, but it’s still bangin’! Berner’s Hempire drops next month.

Boosie Badazz Takes It Back To The Streets With “Real N*gga” Visual

“Since we always talkin bout ho*s” Boosie drops a track for the real ones out there. He can vouch for the real ones if anyone can, so pay attention because this is that street game on a level that we’ve come to expect from Boosie. Fully equipped with shouts to Meech and Lary Hoover this one will resonate with the traps.

Editorial: The Key to Beating Donald Trump

The Trump Factor is rather quite simple and people aren’t getting it, particularly politicians. No one anticipated Trump to still be a factor this late in the game, ESPECIALLY the Republicans, who are probably more embarrassed than anyone else in this country, that none of the establishment’s choices have done anything remotely damaging to Trump or his campaign for president. I mean, even Jeb Bush has given up and he was slated to be in a much better position than anyone not named Paul Ryan (Remember him?).

Now, the formula to beat Trump is so simple that none of the Republican candidates won’t even try it and even if so, it’s a tad bit too late! Now, the United States of America has to go through this embarrassing thing called the Presidential Election by pitting one of the most absurd candidates to ever be placed on the ballot, because the establishment STILL plays by the rules that are so antiquated that it’s ridiculous that it’s taken this long to expose what’s wrong with American politics.

You know how to beat Donald Trump? It’s simple, stop being a politician and actually speak to the people the way the people want to be spoken to!

See how simple that was!

I feel that it’s not that most people actually agree with Trump, I feel it’s because they like the fact that he goes against the grain and not follow the script that politicians have been following for years. Now, just think about it. President Obama was elected because of his approach, not necessarily because of what he was talking about. Yes, some of you will disagree with me, but, it’s evident the way this president has been so disrespected despite all his accomplishments and barriers placed in front of him. Did you REALLY think this country was ready for a Black president? Not as much as you think, I believe they were more ready for a change of how a politician spoke to them which is why Obama resonated with so many people on some many levels.

Now, back to Trump. You can tell (outside of the obvious racists and ignorant people who hang on to his every word!) by how he speaks, that people gravitate towards him, NOT because of what he says, but, more so because of how he bucks the system and does what he wants to do and doesn’t care because he lives by his own rules. Now, how many of us wish that we can do the same thing and be successful because of it? C’mon, you know you feel that way!

So, in short, if any of Trump’s ‘rivals’ had taken a similar approach and had bucked the system (I mean, wasn’t that Chris Christie’s job?), I can assure you that Trump’s rising star would have been short circuited by now. So, anyone who wants to obtain office and understand that, we, the people, are SICK of how politicians treat us, will be highly successful!!!

Jay-Z Is Firing People At Tidal (Again)

(AllHipHop News) Once again, Jay-Z has started clearing house at his developing music streaming service, Tidal. The hip hop mogul recently ran into a couple of legal issues after news surfaced that Yesh Music, the party supporting John Emanuele of American Dollar, recently filed a $5 Million lawsuit over royalties. Although the company has claimed that they are clear of royalty issues and are able to purchase master recordings, according to a recent statement, that didn’t stop Hova from firing the people responsible for the issues.

Recently, Tidal released another statement stating that they have let go of COO Nils Juel and CFO Chris Hart. This is yet another time that the young streaming service has managed to fire an employee within their executive ranks, especially after bad press.

Although Tidal is currently having some growing pains, the company’s still progressing efficiently. The release of Kanye West’s latest album The Life of Pablo helped gain so many subscribers that its size in numbers doubled in less than a week.

New Jack City: Teyana Taylor Returns To The 90’s

Teyana Taylor is back to the future with her new song “Undercover.” She evokes the rolling 1990’s, where Hip-Hop and R&B merged to make New Jack Swing. She is in full retro mode in the video that stems from her 2015 mixtape The Cassette. “I know that you belong to her / Yet I’m still your lover / We both know this could never work, let’s stay undercover,” she sings. A very old school notion since TT is now married with a kid.

Kevin Hart Responds To Katt Williams’ Diss, Katt Now Running For President

(AllHipHop News) Katt Williams may want to be an emcee, since he has more punchlines than your average rapper these days. This time, he has reserved his darts for Kevin Hart, arguably the most bankable Black comic working.

“I’ve already proven that the best they have in comedy is Kevin Hart. (audience member boos). Don’t you boo a Black man working, baby,” Katt said before calling Hart out. “Even though that n***a’s a puppet. Its not his fault. We don’t get mad at that. Get what I’m saying. If you wanna be mad at Kermit The Frog, don’t be mad at Kermit the Frog. Be mad at Jim Henson. Don’t say f**k Donald Duck when you really mean “F**k Walt Disney. I don’t care about nothing that happens with Kevin. I wish him the best. I just know that somebody’ hand is stuck up that baby.”

He continued going in on Kevin Hart and then announced his bid for presidency. Check the whole clip below.

He didn’t name Katt, but Kevin seemed to reference him in a post from the Oscars.

“Me & Dave Chappelle with our brother @chrisrock tonight at the Oscars. True professionals understand the importance of sticking together & supporting one another….at the end of the day we are comedians & there aren’t many that make it to level that we have made it. But so many doors are opened from the success of one comedian & when you see those doors open you then have the opportunity to walk thru them….it’s about helping one another not trying to tear each other down!!!! The insecure ones will never understand what “Support & encouragement” #Message #DopePic #Legendary”
Screen Shot 2016-03-01 at 1.12.43 PM

Yesterday Katt was arrested again in an alleged assault. The matter was chronicled on Fox News.

Comedian Katt Williams was arrested Monday on a battery charge in Georgia after a store employee told police that Williams punched him during an argument.

Gainesville police officers responded to an assault call at a pool supply store around 11:30 a.m. and found Williams outside “lying on the ground with his hands behind his back as though he was ready to go to jail,” Sgt. Kevin Holbrook said.

A store employee told officers Williams, who was in the store with two women, began arguing with the employee and threw a pair of goggles at him, Holbrook said. Williams then went behind the counter and punched the employee at least once, Holbrook said.

The cause of the argument wasn’t immediately clear. When officers tried to question Williams, he told them to ask the store employee what happened, Holbrook said.

Hall County sheriff’s Deputy Nicole Bailes said in an email that Williams faces a misdemeanor battery charge and was being held on $5,000 bond. Online jail records show Williams was booked into jail at 1:34 p.m.

Did Kevin Gates Really Outsell Rihanna In Their First Week Of Sales?

Photo via Kevin Gate’s Instagram

Although Rihanna’s album instantly went to No.1 within its first week of sales, according to Kevin Gates, that spot belonged to him. Kevin Gates told 93.9’s The Fam In The Morning show that when he went to Apple they told him that his album was really No.1, but he really didn’t care because he didn’t care if the album was No.13. He said Apple went on to tell him that Samsung paid for some of Rihanna’s albums making the sales and reported numbers unfair, and meaning Kevin’s album was really No. 1. What are your thoughts?

50 Cent Picks On Baby Mama Over Child Support Ending

Photo via 50 Cent’s Instagram

50 Cent may have revealed why the mother of his old son hates him so much, or he may have just taken this opportunity to taunt her even more. 50 recently commented on his oldest son Marquise’s Instagram page wishing him the best out in the world as a grown man. 50’s baby mama Shaniqua wasn’t feeling it, and she accused him of being a miserable woman beater. She even took a shot at 50’s youngest son by suggesting that his motor skills may not be up-to-date.

“Your downfall is already here @50cent. Miserable, unstable, bum a** n*gga. You’re so miserable! Go pick on them boys who put that hot led up in your a**! Oh! I forgot you like to pick on women and children. Them boys in Brooklyn did you dirty! Go beat up your other baby mother, oh you did that already and you’re on 3 years probation. Go make sure son’s motor skills are correct. Can he talk? Get out of here,” said Shaniqua

50 finally responded to his baby mama by saying,

“So that’s the crazy b*tch you said, said I can’t talk. Yes Sire, I told you I don’t want you responding to nonsense. Oh I’ll never say anything to her, ummmm ain’t her child support over. YES (LMAO).”

It looks like the relationship went bad between all parties and the child support checks ending didn’t make it any better.

Other celebrities such as Selma director Ava DuVernay, Limitless actor Hill Harper, and Grey’s Anatomy actor Jesse Williams were also in attendance to call on concerned people to help the citizens of Flint, Michigan. #JusticeForFlint was streamed live via Revolt. Viewers were able to donate money by texting the word “Justice” to 83224 (donations are still being accepted).

Blackout for Human Rights was founded by filmmaker Ryan Coogler (Fruitvale Station, Creed). Members include Michael B. Jordan, Charles King, Ava DuVernay, Jesse Williams, Nate Parker, John Burris, Donald “Childish Gambino” Glover, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Rosa Clemente, Scott Budnick, David Oyelowo, Michael McBride, and others.

The organization’s website features the following message:

Blackout for Human Rights (Blackout) is a network of concerned artists, activists, filmmakers, musicians and citizens who committed their energy and resources to immediately address the staggering level of human rights violations against fellow Americans throughout the United States. We have witnessed enough. An affront to any citizen’s human rights threatens the liberty of all. So, we participate in one of the most time honored American traditions: dissent. We demand an immediate end to the brutal treatment and inhumane killings of our loved ones; the lives of our friends, our parents and our children have value and should be treated with respect. Our right to life is secured not only by our humanity, but is protected by law both federally and internationally by the Constitution of the United States of America and the United Nation’s Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

2016 Oscars Hit Lowest Viewer Totals In 8 Years

(AllHipHop News) Did Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith get the last laugh? For choosing not to attend the ceremony over the lack of diversity in the acting categories, the famous couple became the butt of a few jokes during Sunday night’s 88th annual Academy Awards. It appears the Smiths were not the only ones tuning out on the Oscars.

[ALSO READ: Chris Rock Addresses #OscarsSoWhite Controversy, Jada Pinkett Smith, & Racism In Hollywood During Oscar Monologue (VIDEO)]

According to Deadline, the event pulled in 34.3 million total viewers which is an 8-year low for the Oscars and the third lowest viewership ever. The disappointing tally comes after weeks of media hype surrounding Chris Rock serving as host and talk of Leonardo DiCaprio finally winning his first Oscar for The Revenant.

Some news outlets are not crediting the #OscarsSoWhite boycott as a factor in the low numbers, instead pointing to the fact few blockbusters were up for Best Picture this year. However, National Action Network founder Al Sharpton directly connected the boycott to the decline in ratings for this year’s Academy Awards.

“The early reports of a decline in the Oscar viewership is heartening to those of us that campaigned around asking citizens to tune out,” said Sharpton in a statement. “This is a significant decline and should send a message to the Academy and to movie studio heads. Though clearly we don’t take full credit for the decline, certainly one would have to assume we were effective and part of the decline. And to those that mocked the idea of a tune out, it seems the joke was on them.”

The Best Picture category rarely contains blockbuster movies such as 2015 crowd pleasers Star Wars Ep. VII: The Force Awakens, Jurassic World, and The Avengers: Age of Ultron. The Oscar nominees did include Mad Max: Fury Road, The Revenant, and The Martian which all made over $300 million at the international box office.

In 2014, American Sniper ($547 million) was the only major hit to earn a Best Picture nod. The last film to gross over $1 billion and get nominated for Best Picture was Toy Story 3 in 2011.

Jay Z’s Tidal Responds To $5 Million Lawsuit Over Royalties

(AllHipHop News) After having a fairly successful run over the last month with exclusive releases by Beyoncé, Rihanna, and Kanye West, Tidal was once again hit with bad headlines. Yesh Music filed a $5 million lawsuit against the Shawn “Jay Z” Carter led streaming platform alleging John Emanuele, of the band The American Dollar, is owed royalty payments from Tidal.

[ALSO READ: Kanye West’s ‘The Life Of Pablo’ & Exclusive Content Help Tidal Double Its Membership]

The suit names Jay Z’s S. Carter Enterprises, “Black Panther Bidco,” and Aspiro (Tidal is a subsidiary of Project Panther Bidco, which is owned by Carter). Court documents filed by Yesh Music read in part, “Ironically, when Defendant CARTER purchased the TIDAL Music Service in 2015, it claimed it would be the first streaming service to pay the artists. Different owner, same game.”

Tidal responded to the lawsuit in a statement to Fader:

TIDAL is up to date on all royalties for the rights to the music stated in Yesh Music, LLC and John Emanuele’s claim and they are misinformed as to who, if anyone, owes royalty payments to them. As Yesh Music, LLC admits in their claim, TIDAL has the rights to the Master Recordings through its distributor Tunecore and have paid Tunecore in full for such exploitations. Their dispute appears to be over the mechanical licenses, which we are also up to date on payments via Harry Fox Agency our administrator of mechanical royalties.

The main compositions in question were release by The American Dollar and their entire catalogue streamed fewer than 13,000 times on TIDAL and its predecessor over the past year. We have now removed all music associated with Yesh Music, LLC and John Emanuele from the service. This is the first we have heard of this dispute and Yesh Music, LLC should be engaging Harry Fox Agency if they believe they are owed the royalties claimed. They especially should not be naming S Carter Enterprises, LLC, which has nothing to do with Tidal. This claim serves as nothing other than a perfect example of why America needs Tort reform.

TDE Plans To Release 6 Projects In 2016, The Label Signed Two Mystery Artists

(AllHipHop News) Top Dawg Entertainment has already started off 2016 with a bang. Kendrick Lamar picked up 5 Grammy trophies last month, but the rest of the year is looking to be huge for the West Coast label as well.

Company CEO Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith revealed on Instagram that TDE is planning to release projects this year from Kendrick, Schoolboy Q, SZA, Isaiah Rashad, Ab-Soul, and Jay Rock. Even more surprisingly, it appears the label has signed two new unknown acts.

Tiffith already announced Schoolboy’s next album will arrive before the summer. Plus, the white board in the IG photo suggests Q, K. Dot, Soulo, and Rock could finally unite for a long-awaited Black Hippy album in 2017.

Back in 2013, Tiffith also promised to drop 6 TDE projects the following year. But the label only released Schoolboy Q’s Oxymoron, Ab-Soul’s These Days…, Isaiah Rashad’s Cilvia Demo, and SZA’s Z in 2014. To Pimp A Butterfly by Kendrick Lamar and 90059 by Jay Rock both hit stores a year later.

Troy Ave Releases Joey Bada$$ Diss Track “Bad Ass” (AUDIO)

(AllHipHop News) It’s Brooklyn vs Brooklyn. Troy Ave has taken his issues with Joey Bada$$ to wax. Last July, the two rappers exchanges messages on Twitter about which NYC native was the top independent artist in Hip Hop. Now Troy has released a diss record aimed at Joey titled “Bad Ass.”

[ALSO READ: Troy Ave Calls Out Joey Bada$$ For Saying He’s “The #1 Independent Hip Hop Artist”]

Apparently, Troy was sparked to fire lyrics at Joey because the Pro Era member mentioned him on the “Ready” record. Joey rapped, “My n*gga Kirk just out sold Troy Ave.”

Troy Ave faced tremendous bad press and social media ridicule after his Major Without A Deal album reportedly only sold around 7,000 copies in its first full week of release. In comparison, Joey’s B4.DA.$$ moved over 53,000 (57,000 SPS) copies in its first week [editor’s note: official sales numbers for Kirk Knight’s Late Knight Special could not be determined].

In response, Troy spits, “You sold a couple records, but nobody cares. You’re never on the radio, because nobody cares. You don’t matter, so you’re mad bruh. Nobody cares. Just an internet rapper. Nobody cares.”

New Documents Show 50 Cent Isn’t Broke

50 Cent’s financial situation seems to be all over the place lately.  However, documents surfaced today by the Daily Mail, that 50 cent’s assets and finances are much higher than he claimed.

When filing for bankruptcy a while back, the Queens native claimed assets ranging from $16-$50 million.  In these new documents, appraisers say 50 cent actually has more than $64 million in property and assets, which is a big difference from the $16 million he was claiming.  The G-Unit rapper does have liabilities totally more than $36 million though and also has $10 million in checking and stock. His G-Unit company as well as other business ventures are reportedly worth more than $44 million.

According to the appraisal, 50 Cent’s monthly income is about $184,000. He also makes a reported $29,000 every month off music royalties. Now add up all the cars, jewelry and other material assets and 50 probably has well over the bankruptcy amount.

50’s bankruptcy case had challenges of its own after he posted photos of himself with stacks of money.  He also posted a photo spelling out the word “broke” with stacks of $100 bills.

So 50 needs to decide whether he wants to stick with the bankruptcy role or the flossin role, because clearly he can’t be both.
