(AllHipHop News) Today (Feb. 9), lyrical legend, Ghostface Killah, issued a video response to Martin Shkreli’s series of idle threats. While looking into the camera, Wu-Tang Clan wordsmith stated, “you acting like I’m a washed up rapper.” Last year, Shkreli purchased the only copy of the Wu’s $2 M album, Once Upon A Time In Shaolin.
Since then, a delusional Shkreli has made several statements about what he’d like to do to Ghostface. The pharmaceutical exec believes that Ghost knowingly disrespected him. Martin has been working to engage Pretty Tony into a Wifi-Beef. “I don’t even know how it came to this,” quips an exasperated Ghost. “Like this, it’s Ghost versus Peter Pan in 2016.”
Before completely dismissing Shkreli, Ghostface, probed deeper into his perceived-character. Pee-wee Herman, fake Batman villians, and Peter Pan were the fanciful people to which Ghost compared Shkreli. “I don’t care how much money you got. Money don’t make you a man, bro,” said Ghost.
As opposed to goons, Ghostdini, taps these unexpected people to put Martin Shkreli into his place.
It looks like Iggy Azalea may have slipped up and revealed to TMZ that her and Swaggy P aka Nick Young may have already gotten married. TMZ asked Iggy if she would raise her future kids in Australia or in the United States, and Iggy replied saying that she would like them to spend time in both. They also asked Iggy if she thinks Nick wants kids with an Australian twinge. Iggy said,
“He better; he has a wife with one.”
Hmmmm maybe the two jumped the broom, or maybe Iggy is speaking it all into existence.
Tyler isn’t someone that you would expect to catch in his feelings, so when you press play on this visuals for his song “Perfect” get ready for the unexpected. Starting off the video covered in butterflies, Tyler vibes back and forth with Kali Uchis. The track features both Kali Uchis And Austin Feinstein but remains simple in its split screen and vivid colors eventually zooming out to include Austin Feinstein in the image as well.
When you bring you the goons, you gotta do it with authority. Martin Shkreli, didn’t do that and now, Ghostface is firing back with his own viral video that is going to take the internet by storm. Just watch. With his goons at his side, and his Wu-Goo CBD oil in hand Ghostface sons Martin in ultimate fashion calling him Peter Pan and man with a 12 year old body. He even photoshops Shkreli’s body onto a Pee Wee Herman image. This is CLASSIC!
The Apollo was a moving moment. It was a full house. There were official Black Panthers in the audience and later, others would take the stage on a moving panel discussion anchored by the film. Hey, there were even some fake Panthers that were quickly vetted and exposed. It was greatness. The energy was electric and celebratory as well.
And then the movie started.
The Black Panthers: Vanguard Of The Revolution is incredible. It is also sad. The documentary really chronicles the illegal murder, persecution and annihilation of a community pillar. Most people forget “For Self Defense” off the party’s name, because it simply does not bode well with the narrative we have been fed over the years. The movement begins with the formation of the party with Bobby Seale and Huey P. Newton to the remarkable growth internationally. It was an incredible rise and response to the oppressive and systemically racist times. I was filled with rage after seeing how they dismantled the Panthers, largely through illegal tactics, lies, deception, hatred and even straight up murder as was the case with Fred Hampton. Tears. Anger. Applause.
And then the game started. Everything seemingly and symbolically went downhill from there…

In a crazy turn of events that makes the Hip-Hop police seem more and more real, Gucci Mane is being barred from hosting MikeWillMadeIt’s new Ransom 2 mixtape. Despite being locked up for two years, rumors are running rampant about when and how Gucci will make his return to the streets. Its pretty clear that the feds are stopping this from being his grand return, but you can’t blame Gucci for trying!
(AllHipHop News) Last week Future and Young Thug were involved in a subliminal Twitter feud. The two Atlanta representatives sent out several tweets that were clearly aimed at the other. New York rapper Uncle Murda has now jumped into the rivalry by offering to help Future take care of Thugger.
During a freestyle on DJ Suss One’s SiriusXM program, Murda sent a very blatant shot at Young Thug. He rapped, “If Future give me the word, I’ll get Young Thug shot… Shots fired.”
Murda recently teamed up with Future for the “Right Now” track released in 2015. The Aint Nothin Sweet rhymer also mentioned the Drake/Meek Mill and Kanye West/Wiz Khalifa beefs during his appearance on Hip-Hop Nation.
(AllHipHop News) Jaden Smith sparked a lot of conversation about gender roles and the image of masculinity when he decided to be a model for Louis Vuitton’s womenswear campaign. His father, Will Smith, discussed the 17-year-old’s fashion choices during an interview with BBC Radio 1Xtra’s A. Dot.
“I think it may have been a mistake,” joked Will when asked about giving his kids the ability to express themselves freely. “We may have gone too far.”
Both Jaden and his sister Willow Smith have faced heavy scrutiny for their respective gender-bending appearances. Will spoke about having to handle seeing his children chastised and ridiculed for the clothes they choose to wear.
“There’s really a powerful internal quality as an artist that, as parents, we encourage. You got to get out on the edge. You have to try things. You have to be comfortable doing things that people don’t agree with. And you have to be comfortable doing things that you can fail,” Will stated. “Jaden is 100 percent fearless. He will do anything. So, as a parent, it’s scary. It’s really terrifying, but he is completely willing to live and die by his own artistic decisions. He just doesn’t concern himself with what people think.”
(AllHipHop News) Earl “DMX” Simmons was reportedly rushed to a New York hospital Monday evening. TMZ cites unnamed sources that claim DMX began complaining of shortness of breath and pain in his chest outside of a Yonkers hotel.
Apparently, X collapsed before being transported to a local medical facility. He is known to have had issues with asthma in the past. The It’s Dark and Hell Is Hot album creator is said to be getting breathing treatments while hospitalized.
Between 1998 and 2003, DMX released five platinum albums that landed at #1 on the Billboard 200 chart. His last LP was 2011’s Undisputed. The Dark Man’s career has also been marred with numerous run-ins with the law.
(AllHipHop News) Last week saw the arrival of three projects from popular rap stars. Hits Daily Double has crunched the numbers, and the predictions for the first week sales of Future’s EVOL, Wiz Khalifa’s Khalifa, and Young Thug’s I’m Up have been calculated.
According to HDD, Future is closing in on the #1 spot on the album chart. The Atlanta native’s latest effort is expected to sell between 110,000 – 115,000 copies with a total of around 150,000 units with streaming numbers added in. If that prediction holds up, EVOL will be Future’s third #1 album in less than a year (DS2, What A Time to Be Alive with Drake).
Wiz is looking to come in with 45,000 – 50,000 (55,000 – 60,000 SPS) copies for his self-titled album. That’s a drop from 2014’s Blacc Hollywood which opened with 90,000 copies. His highest first sales week to date came in 2011 when Rolling Papers sold 197,000 copies.
The first week sales for Young Thug’s I’m Up EP are likely to be slightly less than the first week sales for his Barter 6 in 2015. B6 sold 17,000 copies and his latest project is expected to sell between 14,000 – 16,000 (17,000 -20,000 SPS).
(AllHipHop News) Merely days before Kanye West releases his 7th solo album, it appears the G.O.O.D. Music boss has finally settled on a title. The new collection will not be called So Help Me God, Swish, or Waves.
Kanye made the announcement on Twitter. He posted a tweet that read, “@studio /final verses /new album title T.L.O.P.” The “No Parties In L.A.” rhymer later added, “That’s the new album anybody who can figure out the title gets tickets to Season 3 and free Yeezys.”
While T.L.O.P. is scheduled to drop in two days (February 11), a pre-order option on iTunes is still not available. That could be a hint that Kanye will be releasing his new project as a Tidal exclusive like Rihanna did with her recent Anti album. Both Rihanna and Kanye are part owners of Tidal. There is no official confirmation at the moment that T.L.O.P. will arrive via Tidal.
Smoke DZA and Harry Fraud have teamed up for their latest collaborative effort, He Has Risen. Snoop Dogg joins the Brooklyn beat-maker and Harlem’s hazy wordsmith on the project’s first single, “Morals,” which debuted via The FADER with the album’s tracklist. Smoke DZA and Snoop Dogg trade verses of their adolescence, growing up as participants in a range of activity as opposed to being spectators in their respective neighborhoods.
With dusty soul production led by a harrowing bass guitar lick, Smoke DZA and Snoop Dogg sink their teeth into the atmospheric beat with gritty vocals and rhymes that sound like they could be derived from a street code textbook. Smoke DZA and Harry Fraud’s one rapper/one producer synergy has been displayed before, having previously teamed up for 2012’s Rugby Thompson and again in 2013, forming a trifecta with Curren$y joining for the trio’s 4-track The Stage EP. Smoke DZA and Harry Fraud’s He Has Risen is available for pre-order and releases March 4th.
Love & Hip-Hop NY’s Papoose puts his own spin on Desiigner’s “Panda” and Remy Ma rips Future’s “March Madness”. Stay tuned as Remy continues to work on her upcoming album, the third installment of Pap’s Hoodie Season 3 coming soon!
(AllHipHop News) Ciara has dropped a hefty lawsuit on former beau Future stating that he is trying to ruin her career.
The news, first broken by theJasmineBRAND.com , claims that the rapper has been lying about her, stating that she is a bad mother. She is asking that a judge put a muzzle on him and she also seeks $15 in damages.
Ciara claims libel and defamation in the lawsuit.
The story details her grievance:
The singer accuses her ex-fiance of lying about her publicly to increase interest and publicity for his upcoming musical endeavors, namely the release of his upcoming album and tour. Ciara blasts Future saying he purposefully published lies about her on his Twitter account, social media and other interviews to destroy her reputation as a good mother, to diminish her brand and to impair her professional career in the entertainment industry.
The suit adds that Ciara respects and recognizes Future’s right to free speech under the first amendment of the Constitution. However, he doesn’t have free reign to say whatever he wants knowing what he is speaking is untrue. Ciara informs the court she is a well-known, successful, recording aritst, songwriter, producer, performer and entertainer along with actress and has a huge fan base around the world. The singer also describes herself as a pillar of her community and extremely active with community service and philanthropy and she says she’s known as a great mother.
Future has not responded to the allegations at press time.
(AllHipHop News)Lil Wayne’s appearance in the new Apartments.com commercial that aired during the Super Bowl may have gotten a slew of headlines, but it’s his latest move that should be getting the attention. Tunechi is teaming up with streaming service TIDAL to promote and reward community service among college students.
Beginning Friday (Feb. 5), any undergraduate college student at a four-year university can participate in TIDAL’s Social Wave for Change. Students must post a photo or video on Instagram or Facebook of them completing any community service act. A panel of judges selected by TIDAL will review all social media submissions and determine the finalists. Once the finalists are announced, the public will vote on the winner.
Aside from his music and latest commercial appearances, Lil Wayne has been working on a project that could help communities across the country spread a little love and support. The Young Money superstar has teamed up with streaming service TIDAL as part of his latest community service initiative.
Starting Friday February 5th, any undergraduate college student at a four-year university can join TIDAL’s Social Wave for Change. The student must complete a community service act and post a photo or video to Facebook or Instagram using the hashtag #TIDALXCHANGE. A group of judges selected by TIDAL will review the submissions and determine the finalists and the public will vote on the winner. Prizes include a chance to see Weezy in concert.
Although Tunechi was one of the last artists to join TIDAL, he has been one of it’s biggest promoters. And this latest project seems like a good move for both parties.
Young Money artists, Lil Wayne and Baby E show us how to live fancy in their latest visual for Finessin. Top down, with cigars in hand, the duo cruise down the hot streets of Miami without a care in the world. The two talk on money to blow and admiring beautiful women while showing off their lavish lifestyle.
“Spending dirty money at the Gucci store/F###### with the models eating sushi rolls/She think I’m a rapper, get that groupie look/Baby mama mad, she see me moving up,” raps Baby E, who was signed to Young Money in 2015. The track debuted on Weezy’s No Ceilings 2 mixtape last year and the visuals match the laid back feeling of the track.
So everyone knows that Wiz and Kanye went at it on social media recently, but that’s not the point of this project or this review. We’re gonna leave the family out of this one, even though his son Sebastian does make a great cameo on the project. While some say the drama was good for sales and publicity, we want to focus our attention on the music because this is a solid Wiz project that rivals his recent tapes.
You might think this project was all recorded at once, but these songs are ones that didn’t make previous albums. The tracks are all ones that Wiz was really fond of and we can see why. It’s almost a throwback compilation of sorts, but there are gems on here that the Taylors will love.
“The game will stress you out, but that’s what these doobies is for” – Wiz Khalifa – ‘Khalifa’ – “iSay” ft Juicy J
From the outset this project gets trippy with a dope synth lead and Wiz sh*t talking about money, smokin weed and getting rich. While that may sound like a turn off to the Wiz haters tired of weed raps, there are some experimental songs on here that slap production-wise.
Take the classy joints with piano solo’s fading out like the first song “BTS” – it’s a sound that reflects the vibes Taylor Gang fans have come to embrace. It’s more about the vibe with Wiz and harmonizing with the music. You have to remember he was influenced by BONE Thugs-N-Harmony, Snoop, Max B and Cam’ron.
Yea his raps can be somewhat simple at times, but his ability to find the melody on the song is uncanny. Plus, who can remember all those raps when you smokin KK like Khalifa does? Take “Call Waiting” for example as Wiz tries his hand at singing the whole song on some soul sh*t. Yea he’s no Adele, but he can find the melody and somehow it work out in a smoked out kind of way.
Wiz provides his fans with motivational raps which is def needed if you’re blowing clouds of that good. Sticking with your team, getting lit and a focus on paper are common themes on this one. Some fans of Wiz’s earlier material will draw comparisons to other projects, but this shows a more refined sound. (Listen to “City View” with Pittsburgh’s own Courtney Noelle)
There are a good amount of features on this project from the Taylor Gang family as Juicy J, Ty Dolla $ign, Chevy Woods, JR Donato join in on tracks. Of those, on the first few listens, the Ty Dolla $ign record is smooth and has serious potential as a viral hit – at the very least a dope video. Make sure you check that one, it’s two parts. Part One is a single for sure. The Juicy J song “iSay” has potential as well, Juicy J does well on radio.
The “Cowboy” track is a valley on this one and so is “Bake Sale” ft Travis Scott. While the Travis Scott “Bake Sale” joint is already making its way up the Billboard Top 100, “Bake Sale” definitely piggy backs on a familiar feel from “Antidote” by Scott. It’s like an extension of the whole melody but fans will enjoy it.
“Make a Play” and “Most of Us” are def bangers too but they aren’t for the mainstream if thats what your’e looking for. Is it Wiz’s best album? No. Is it dope? Yes. Is it Kush and OJ? Nah, but its def some dope smoked out ridin music, which is about all you need if you smoke with the best of ’em like Wiz. You decide for yourself below:
Check it out below for stream on Spotify and make sure to check out some of the highlights below!
Highlights: “BTS,” “City View” ft Courtney Noelle, “Make A Play” ft JR Donato, “Most of Us,” “No Permission” ft Chevy Woods, “iSay” ft Juicy J, “Lit” ft Ty Dolla $ign
(AllHipHop News) Twitter has seen it’s share of artistic feuds, frustrations and expressions. Ab-Soul is the latest to let off some steam about his current situation. It’s been a while since he dropped his last album, These Days, however the Top Dawg Entertainment rapper is patiently waiting for the green light to release new material.
Soul took to Twitter today to express his frustration about watching from the sidelines as his fellow TDE members take off. “This bench is gettin warm as fucc tho mayne,” he said. He took the time out to thank his fans for all the support and ensured that he was hard at work on some hot new projects.
Trying to remain optimistic on the matter, Soul acknowledged is respect for his TDE family and their judgement. “Nonetheless, it’s important to move as a unit. It’s bigger than me. It’s family.”
Soul’s venting seemed to do him some good because it wasn’t long before TDE CEO, Dangeroo Kipawaa, responded with some good news. “Tighten up your j’s because I’m about 2 kall your #…. #TDE lets get it my n*gga,” he tweeted.
Looks like 2016 may be the year for the big haired rapper. Fans can expect from Ab-Soul heat soon.
Back in 2013, p### star Celine Tran filed a lawsuit against Bow Wow for not getting her consent to take photos of her pole dancing and for not getting consent to later use them for his “Drank In My Cup Video”. Bow apparently didn’t think it was important enough to show up to his first court date for the case, and the p### star was awarded almost $80K. Bow Wow took to his Facebook to say,
“That dumb ass p### star chick who ever she is ain’t getting a dime from us!”
According to Bossip, Bow Wow has been fighting hard to keep this woman from getting her coins! He wants the entire judgment to be thrown out because he feels that he was improperly served. Bow Wow claims Celine has been threatening him and even coming for his role on CSI. Dang Bow can’t catch a break! Read more HERE.
