Hip-Hop Rumors: Tanisha Thomas Taps Natalie Nunn, Others For New Bad Girls Club Show?

That’s what the rumor mill is saying. I heard that Tanisha Thomas of Bad Girls Club Season 2 is stepping into the executive producer role and working on a new show featuring a couple of other infamous bad girls from various seasons.

A couple of those women are Natalie Nunn (season four), Flo Kaja (season Flo) and Sarah Oliver (season 11) but folks are tight lipped on what the show will actually be about. It will be interesting though because, Flo and Natalie are frenemies, and Tanisha and Natalie are also frenemies. It gets really explosive when they all get to feuding.

I can say that Tanisha once mentioned that she was tired of all the so-called bad girls thinking that life is just about fighting, and being the Queen B by ripping other girls to shreds and that her hope is for the girls to see themselves acting a fool on TV and start to make positive changes in their lives. That being said, perhaps this show will feature more positive aspects of Flo, Natalie and Sarah’s lives. Flo is married with a daughter and wants to make sure her baby girl grows up to be a good girl, Natalie is married and also a business woman and Sarah also has a few business ventures going on so maybe this show will go a more positive route if it gets picked up.

Slightly more positive anyway because you know a hot temper, especially when cameras are on, doesn’t just simmer down over night. It takes time.

World's Fair Trip To The Bronx = Hugs for Drugs, Bathrooms W/ No Stalls + More (VIDEO)

(AllHipHop News) What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas but what happens in The Bronx usually crawls out at some point. This past Friday (December 13th), upstart Hip Hop group World’s Fair appeared on Cipha Sounds’ Hip Hop improv show Take It Personal and explained a harrowing journey to a party in a Bronx rec center in search of alcohol.

The seven man group acted out scenes of a wild adventure that involved a woman exchanging hugs for drugs, losing a relative in a broken down bathroom and more. The improvisers at the UCB Theatre in Lower East Side New York turned those hilarious tidbits into a brilliant sketches.

Check out World’s Fair eccentric journey to the Bronx and the UCB improvisers take on them below:

R. Kelly Talks Black Panties, Lady Gaga, & Classic Songs In CRWN Interview

(AllHipHop News) R&B legend R. Kelly sat down with Elliott Wilson for the sixth edition of the veteran Hip Hop journalist’s CRWN interview series. In part one of the discussion, the “Pied Piper of R&B” speaks on his new album Black Panties, his appreciation for Lady Gaga, overcoming throat surgery, his relationship with his mother, why Public Announcement broke up, his past issues with Gerald Levert while on tour, and how songs like “You Remind Of Me Something,” “Down Low,” “It Seems Like You’re Ready,” and “I Believe I Can Fly” came together.

Kelly shares how he played “I Believe I Can Fly” for The Notorious B.I.G. in a hotel lobby after waking up with the tune in his head. According to Kells, Biggie told him “that’s a hit.”

Kelly also reveals that he did over 360 songs for his latest album. He says he even recorded songs like “Shut Up” right after his throat surgery.

Beyonce's New Album Will Not Be Sold At Target

(AllHipHop News) Beyoncé’s monster roll out of her new self-titled album went practically flawless. The so-far digital only LP broke an iTunes record for biggest first week sales and the singer topped her own personal best in opening sales as well. Despite that success, the BEYONCÉ project may have finally hit a snag. Billboard reports that retail giant Target will not being stocking the album.

Apparently, the store has decided not to sell BEYONCÉ because it was released exclusively online before it was available for sale in CD form. Target spokesperson Erica Julkowski told Billboard:

While there are many aspects that contribute to our approach and we have appreciated partnering with Beyonce in the past, we are primarily focused on offering CDs that will be available in a physical format at the same time as all other formats. At this time, Target will not be carrying Beyonce’s new self-titled album Beyoncé.

This seems to be a new policy for Target considering their customers are able to buy albums like Jay Z and Kanye West’s Watch The Throne which was also released exclusively through iTunes before physical copies were available for sale.

Beyoncé and Target have partnered together in the past. Bey’s 2011 album 4 was released with an exclusive Target version that included bonus tracks.

BEYONCÉ will be available at other music retailers like Walmart on December 20th.

Ohio Police Chief To Kanye West: "Check Yourself, Before You Wreck Yourself"

(AllHipHop News) Once again something Kanye West said is upsetting someone. This time it was Ye comparing himself to police officers and military members. During a recent interview, West said, “Wow, this is like being a police officer or something, in war or something” in reference to what he sees as the danger of being a performer.

[ALSO READ: Louis Farrakhan Tells Kanye West Not To Bow To Jewish Pressure]

One cop took offense to those assertions and penned an open letter to the “I Am A God” rapper. Police Chief David Oliver of Ohio’s Brimfield Police Department wrote a post on the department’s Facebook page addressing Kanye’s “very ignorant assessment.”

Oliver also calls Kanye “misguided,” suggests he sign-up for the military to fight in Afghanistan, and ends his letter with “check yourself, before you wreck yourself.”

Read Chief Oliver’s letter to Kanye West below.

Dear Kanye West,

I am honored to be writing such an important star. I am a mere Internet sensation. I’m not sure I am worthy to address you, although the Huffington Post did say I was “Humorous and Insanely Popular.” I don’t pay much attention to those things. Anyway, please excuse my interference in your life for a quick second.

I read your interview and also watched it on video.  You said:
“I’m just giving of my body on the stage and putting my life at risk, literally.….and I think about it. I think about my family and I’m like, wow, this is like being a police officer or something, in war or something.”

I want to thank you for putting your life on the line for all of us every day.  I know that being a rapper is tough work.  I have tried to rap, and it is very difficult to keep up with the pulse of the rhyme flow…although when Ice Ice Baby comes on the radio, I can usually keep up with ol’ Vanilla. Anywho, your job is just some very dangerous work. Most people don’t consider… if you rap really fast, without a chance to inhale, you could pass out and hit your head.

That last paragraph was covered in sarcasm.  I’m letting you know,  just so you do not think I agree with your very ignorant assessment of your career (or any other performer)as it relates to a person in the military or a police officer’s service.  You sir, are as misguided as they come.  I do have a suggestion for you.  Since you are accustomed to danger, from your life as an international rapper, I am strongly encouraging you immediately abandon you career as a super star and join the military. After joining, I would like you to volunteer to be deployed in Afghanistan or one of the numerous other forward locations where our men an women are currently serving.  When the Taliban starts shooting at you, perhaps you could stand up and let the words flow. It could be something like “I’m Kanye West, wearing a flak vest.”  I’m sure they would just drop weapons and surrender. You could quite possibly end all wars, just from the enemy being star-struck.

Your line of thinking is part of the problem in the world today….which include entertainers thinking they are something more than just entertainers.  I know it is supply and demand and the demand for your services is high. I get economics.  What I do not get is you EVER comparing what you do for a living to our heroic military members, who are always in harm’s way… and my brother and sister police officers who have to go to work carrying weapons and wearing a bullet-proof vest to protect themselves.

Check yourself, before you wreck yourself….Chief Oliver.

Judge Revokes Chris Brown's Probation

(AllHipHop News) A physical altercation outside a Washington, D.C. hotel has led to R&B star Chris Brown’s probation being revoked. According to reports, Superior Court Judge James R. Brandlin made that decision this week after reviewing the arrest report associated with the D.C. incident.

This is the second time Brown’s probation has been revoked this year. The earlier repeal was the result of his alleged involvement in a hit-and-run accident and failing to complete mandatory community labor for the 2009 assault on Rihanna. The judge added an additional 1,000 hours to the singer’s requirement. He has until August to finish the remaining 940 hours.

Brown was not sentenced to jail time because he is currently completely 90 days in court-ordered rehab. He is said to be doing well in the program. The Virginia native will need to report back to court on February 10th.

Hip-Hop Rumors: 'Rich Kids of Bevely Hills' to Take Over Kardashian TV Spot?

The #RichKidsofInstagram parlayed their hashtag into an actual reality show. We all know that Magic Johnson’s son E.J. will be one of the kids featured on the show, “Rich Kids of Beverly Hills,” which is set to debut on E! in January.

However, the coming of this show could mean that it’s a wrap for the Kardashians. Page Six is saying that “Rich Kids of Beverly Hills” could be taking over Keeping up With the Kardashians’ original slot because the network is ready to move on.

I don’t know about this one. Keeping up With the Kardashians is definitely returning for its ninth season in January, so even if it does air in a later slot, the ratings will probably be decent enough to force a season 10. Plus, insiders at E! say it’s still the network’s most watched series.

By the way, Rich Kids of Beverly Hills will follow five 20-something one perenters who ball out of control.

Wale Addresses Threatening Complex Writer + Advice Jay Z Gave Him (VIDEO)

(AllHipHop News) Wale has cooled down. After threatening Complex writer Isanul Ahmed via phone last Wednesday (December 11th), Wale spoke with Hot 97’s Peter Rosenberg and Ebro Darden about what caused the rant, which f

After Wale admits that if in front of Isanul Ahmed, he “would’ve went at him”, the Gifted MC listed his exclusion from Grammy nominations and other publications’ year end lists as helping Complex’s snub send him over the proverbial edge. Overall, Wale says he is angered by what perceives as a ever changing scale of how music is judged:

If there’s certain scales that you’re judging people on, let those be consistent. If it’s club records, if it’s record sales. Let it be a consistent thing.

After admitting that he’s “a bit of a conspiracy theorist” the 29 year old rapper stated that his 2010 fall out with Kid Cudi During Cudi’s September 2010 cover story with Complex where he admitted to struggling with drug addiction, he infamously remarked that “It’s not a conspiracy theory. We don’t f*ck with you musically.” Wale stated he believed Complex instigated their beef even with full knowledge of Cudi’s mental state at the time:

Y’all claiming to be this man’s boy. Y’all know he’ s  in a certain space right now. It’s almost like they were perpetuating  some type of war. At this time I’m losing my first record deal so I’m in even a worse place. I remember ‘we not rocking with you musically’. It went viral.

Near the end of the interview, Wale states that his exclusion from the list made him feel he “wasnt’ worth what these other people were worth that they’re mentioning.”

Check out the full Wale interview where he addresses the advice Jay Z gave him, his future plans with music and more below:

AHH REVIEW: Talib Kweli "Gravitas"

Talib Kweli is on his way to finishing up 2013 strong. Taking matters into his own hands, the release of his second album Gravitas is distributed directly from the rapper to the masses. Production credits include J Dilla (RIP), Statik Selektah, Oh No, Lord Quest and others.  In the vain of consistency, Talib shows how to stand on your own two and never bow down to something that goes against for what you stand for.

Getting the album off to a serious, hard-hitting start is “Demonology” produced by Lord Quest . Guitar riffs and hard bass drum hits.  Make sure your sub is connected to hear those hard drum bass hits. Talib goes in like usual “No wonder I’m losing blood, everybody taking a cut, speaking in tongues, quit depicting your funds.”

I played “Violators” which features the legendary Raekwon five times over before finishing the rest of the album. The ill ILL combination is like a sailboat flowing effortlessly over the waves.  The beat gets you stuck in the moment like a war call.  Listen closely, the flow is quick.  Talib, “This cat, y’all call a rapper is weak, my honor matter more, you? The shot to your Kenny I mean the latter more”, Rae “Blessed with the belts, flying in the stealth, Jewelry on neck, diamond on the cheals…”

“Art Imitates Life” features Black Thought and Rah Digga and is produced by Oh No. This single was out earlier in the year and still is a banger with ill rhymes.  Oct 3rd brothers Talib and B. Thought show why they are some of the best in this young or old. The beat gets me nodding quick off the bat, with that champagne glass ring. Thought comes in with the sick thoughts as always “I’m out of Philly where the ecstasy and syrup is, and we don’t need Theraflu, we need therapists”. Then Talib to match, “That’s when I’m letting the Brooklyn out when they pull it out, Better let it off cause you set it off.”

This album is a must for any collection.  Talib is a lyrical master who has paid his dues three times over. This is another classic delivered by a man who has held his own since he came out.

The Numbers Are In: Beyonce Sells Over 610,000 Copies In Three Days

(AllHipHop News) All the speculation, sales projections and rumors can cease as the final numbers for Beyonce’s fifth studio album Beyonce‘s 1st week sales are tabulated. According to Billboard, Beyonce sold 617,000 downloads over the weekend.

After surprisingly releasing the album before midnight EST on Thursday night (December 12th), the album quickly sold over 80,000 downloads in the first three hours. This is the second highest digital debut of an album sales-wise behind Lady Gaga’s 2011 album Born This Way selling 662,000 digital downloads its first week. However, Beyonce‘s first week sales are only accounting for three full days of release as opposed to Gaga’s Born This Way which amassed its first week sales after a full sales week.

The album is set to top the Billboard album charts and marks Beyonce’s biggest first week sales ever, topping the 541,000 copies sold in the first week of the release of her 2006 album B’ Day.

Beyonce recently announced that the first two singles released from Beyonce will be the Jay Z-assisted “Drunk In Love” and “Blow”.

AHH MIXTAPE REVIEW: Q-Tip and Busta Rhymes "The Abstract and The Dragon"

There are a few things in life that classify as miracles: Jesus coming back to Earth, the Mets winning the World Series, and Busta Rhymes and Q-Tip releasing a mixtape together. On paper, a joint project between these two undisputed legends has victory scribbled all over it in golden-era ink, but all too often fans have fallen victim to assigning superlatives to similar projects prematurely, only to wear faces of disgust on their born-day.

Luckily, Tip and Busta are fans of planned-parenthood. On The Abstract and The Dragon, Busta and Tip don’t fall victim to the enticement of new-aged Euro-beats or gargled Future hooks. In fact, the tape is more Hits, Rarities, and Remixes thanWatch The Throne; the bulk of the tape consisting of timeless songs Busta and Tip have collaborated on over the years, such as the “Vivrant Thing” remix and “One Two S###.” On that note, no need to recommend a little song called “Scenario,” or the timeless remix, and of course, no matter how many renditions “God Lives Through” undergoes, it is magical, especially with a fresh verse from Busta. Other songs like Big Daddy Kane’s “Come On Down” are well-known to anyone native to the music of the tongues.

Although the oldies are certifiable goodies, fans will no doubt be screaming gimme me some more due to the general lack of new material. But the collection is worth the download based on the nostalgic factor alone, beats and rhymes that will instinctively retreat your mind back to a blissful time of Dilla, starter jackets, Timberland boots, and a Maino-free NYC. The new material, like “Butch and Sundance,” “We Taking Off,” and the exclusives for Busta Rhymes upcoming solo release, ELE 2, are strong indications that we should expect amazing music from these two in the near future.

Kendrick Lamar, 2 Chainz, Rick Ross, J. Cole & More Light Up Cali Christmas

Power 106 FM of Los Angeles held their annual Cali Christmas concert at The Honda Center in Anaheim on Saturday December 14th and brought out Hip-Hop’s brightest stars. The sold out event ran almost flawlessly with only slight delays here and there, which is pretty remarkable for an event of that magnitude. No fights and no drama to report, just everybody having a good fun time. Sage the Gemini and IamSu of The HBK gang represented for the Bay Area and kicked the night off as the crowd was still rolling in. They were shortly followed by DJ Mustard, Tee Flii and Ty Dolla $ign and performed their current radio hits together. Kid Ink was brought out next and of course had to show the crowd why he goes by that name (See pics below). B.O.B. was also in the house and performed a set highlighted by his 2009 hit, “Nothin’ On You.” Rick Ross was next and opened strong with his “B.M.F.” song and had the crowd going with his verse from Jay Z’s “F*ckwithmeyouknowIgotit.” Ricky Rozay was backed live by the awesome young group 1500 Or Nothin, who also happen to be accomplished producers. Big Sean was a surprise guest and came out for a few songs right after Ross and just before J. Cole. Backed by a live band himself, J. Cole performed “Forbidden Fruit” minus Kendrick Lamar, even though K. Dot was in the house. Was this fallout from the Control verse? Who knows. Cole also gave great performances of “Work Out” and “Can’t Get Enough” and then gave way to 2 Chainz, who really got the party going with “I’m Different,” “Birthday Song,” and “No Lie.” King Kendrick Lamar was the headliner and he brought his fellow TDE labelmates Jay Rock, Schoolboy Q and Ab-Soul with him as returning Southern California hometown heroes. For good measure, Kendrick even brought out Diddy to the crowd’s delight to cap off the festive night. Shout out to Power 106 for allowing AllHipHop.com to come through and be a part of this wonderful event. As always, we’ve got pics galore! Check out our gallery below.
