Hip-Hop Rumors: New Chris Brown & Rihanna Pix! RiRi & Drake In The UK? Kanye Is P#####!

DISCLAIMER:

All content within this section is pure rumor and generally have no factual info outside of what the streets have whispered in our ear. Read on.

THE DAILY TWO SENSEREAD YESTERDAY’S RUMORS!

ILLSEED’S QUICKIES

REMY MA! Oh Snap! She’s still doing her thing! Check this song out called “I’m The Queen.”

They are saying that Eminem might do a joint CD with 50 Cent.

It looks like “How High 2” is a bust. Universal Pictures owes all the rights and characters and allegedly won’t let the guys use it!

It looks like something is going to happen with Detox.

That wasn’t even the real Eve that spazzed out on Chris Brown yesterday. It seemed really weird when she bashed the media. Oh well, she’s EXPOSED! For a minute there, I thought somebody in the game has an opinion.

Ciara’s people sent this out: “Ciara is currently focusing on her upcoming tour dates with Jay Z (select dates in the U.S.) and Britney Spears (Europe). Reports of a Ciara/KFC promotion are patently false.”

Spike Lee recently smashed on Tyler Perry saying his movies and shows were taking us back to the “Amos N Andy” days.

The Dream and Christina Milian are reportedly engaged.

Scott Storch has filed for chapter 13 bankruptcy. Sad.

Phil Spector got 18 years to life.

ARE RIHANNA AND DRAKE STEALING AWAY?

First of all, I want to tell you that there was a picture posted yesterday. That was not Drake and one of his conquests. That was his assistant and she is a cool, professional person. They DID NOT have a rendezvous of any sort. Sorry!

I got this from a friend of a friend! I have been told that right now, both Drake and Rihanna are in the UK, in London. Now, my source wouldn’t tell me or didn’t know of they actually were seeing each other in the town, but they are definitely both over there. From what I understand, Jay-Z is still there too. Here is something that I got as well from my source that knows the real source. Jay-Z is working with Drake. Like they have reportedly been in the studio together.

I’m really a bit baffled at the hype surrounding Drake. Not to suggest that he’s not talented, but it seems like he’s taking over or something. I don’t know why. Anyway, its all good!

CHRIS BROWN’S NEAR!

In this day and age, the stuff we do lingers forever. And if there is a stalker, hacker or jilted boyfriend, you may have a worse situation. Some bleeding heart hacker allegedly has taken responsibility for the leaked nude photos of Rihanna. Uhm…I don’t believe this story, but who am i? Here are the pics and they show a different spin on their relationship.

Homey is getting his lil wayne on here.

JAIMEE FOXWORTH HANDLES HER FAMILY MATTERS

Jaimee has done good for herself. You might remember she was on “Family Matter,” but got off the path and into p###. She’s way more stabilized now. We actually used to talk over email. She was very cool so I congratulate her!

Exactly ten days overdue Jaimee Foxworth and longtime boyfriend, Michael Shaw welcomed their first child together into the world. Michael Douglas Shaw Jr. was born today at 6:40am PST. After 21 hours in labor, Michael Jr. finally made his way, weighing in at 6lbs 11oz and 19 ¼ inches long.

“This is the best day of my life” Jaimee said to her Manager and Publicist, Elayne Rivers via text. “I am so excited to be a mother and I also look forward to getting back to work”. Foxworth had been conversing with Rivers throughout her labor via text as they are currently reviewing offers. First up will be Foxworth’s return to television in a positive manner on an episode of Life After.

PRETTY RICKY CARTOON

That dude Spectacular isn’t wasting any time. He’s already got an animated series that address his recent dancing outing.

PUPPY LOVE

Hahaha! Lil Twist is one of the dudes down with Lil Wayne. Remember, I heard he was dating Keke Palmer? Well, here is what he had to say about the rumor.

“WORLD! FROM THE RUMOUR THAT WAS SPREADED LAST NIGHT ON ALLHIPHOP ABOUT ME AND KEKE PALMER DATING IS FALSE! WE ARE REALLY GOOD FRIENDS 4 NOW!”

It would seem that he’s got some ambition, per the “4 now.” Hey,young world! I heard they are going to be shopping together in the LA area and they have already called the paps to be there.

THAT WAS NOT BERG’S CHAIN!

I swear. You people are going to stop messing with Yung Berg! This was Berg’s chain.

And THIS is what Whoo Kid said was Berg’s chain!

Shout out to Berg and my super readers that told me the real deal. Nice try, Mr. Whoo!

SHA MONEY AIRS IT OUT FOR 50 CENT!Somebody got Sha Money started!

“Honestly, G-Unit is going through a new phase right now and Interscope right now is not the best home for them. It’s a point in time where employees and everybody just not ethused enough to making things move forward and the staff…honestly, everybody rode off the G-Unit wave. They didn’t have to f**king work, we f**king created the wave and they rode it. So soon as it’s time to work and they gotta show and prove, ain’t nobody show and proved and f**king getting radio and nobody doing what they gotta do ’cause it’s a f**king c**k sucking industry, aight? So everybody rode the wave and now we’re sitting here wondering what the f**k is wrong with Interscope. They never had to f**king work in the beginning, I’m sorry Jimmy [Iovine] but it’s the truth. Get better f**king employees…50 is the f**king genius man, honestly, he’s unpredictable. As much as I knew him from 1996 to now, motherf**ker is unpredictable, he’s crazy. You can’t never understand what he’s gonna do next. He’s a genius, so you know what? There’s more Vitamin Water deals coming.”

KANYE IS UPSET!

Apparently, the video that we all thought was officially for “Paranoid” wasn’t even for fan consumption. It was a leak and Kanye isn’t pleased. Here are some screen grabs from the real video.

EPIC FAIL OF THE DAY

Obama being president changed a lot, but it has not changed everything. In fact, it has accentuated a lot…the RACISTS are still here! A small paper in PA failed editorially, they say. They ran an ad that said: “May Obama follow in the steps of Lincoln, Garfield, McKinley and Kennedy!” Well, all of those U.S. presidents were assassinated and the FBI is treating it like a threat on the president’s life. Anyway, the Warren Times Observer says they didn’t catch the “drift” of the ad. The paper published an apology.

TYRESE COULDA BEEN THE FAIL!

Yesterday Tyrese got booed for singing the National Anthem. I thought he forgot the words. NO. He changed the words. Instead of singing “our flag was still there,” he replaced the words with “our Lakers were still there.” The whole crowd, Lakers fans or otherwise, booed him for the rest of her performance. They don’t appreciate NATHAN!

SHOUT OUT TO BISHOP BRIGANTE

This is a favor for my homey Bishop. You know, he’s a rapper and an actor so if you have any roles, get at him.

HAVE YOU SEEN THIS YET?

The new Jake One video is ill, baby! Hip-Hop music is really doing it! Now, if you look at the very beginning of the video for “Home,” you might find some of the sme people who were in the Mix-a-lot a bunch of years ago! Dj Supreme in the beginning of the video was because he was also in the “Posse on Broadway” video and was mean muggin Mix-a-lot in the original old school vid. Look at the video after this and and you’ll see the same fat gold chain.

Here is Sir-Mix-A-Lot’s “My Posse’s On Broadway” –

Jake said this about his video:

Finally I’m happy to present the video to my tribute to Seattle, “Home”. The song features MC’s Vitamin D, Note, Maneak B and Ish, who have all big influences in music. Mix a Lot brought out his orange Lambo and Nate Burleson repped the town and the Seahawks as well. Super Director Zia did a phemomenal job creating the perfect visual for the music and now its time for the world to see it.

AHH Stray News: Dr. Dre, Beastie Boys, Def Jam Game, American Gangster Sold

Producer/rapper/mogul Dr. Dre has teamed with Dr. Pepper for a new ad campaign the soft drink giant recently launched. The spot, titled “Trust Me, I’m a Doctor,” features Dre in a DJ Booth commanding a party. Fans of the producer are excited, because the commercial also features an unnamed track from Dre’s highly anticipated album Detox. Other celebrities in the campaign include Gene Simmons, Julius Erving and Kelsey Grammer. Dr. Dre’s commercial is set to debut on Monday (June 1).

The Beastie Boys have revealed that they have finished a new album of brand new material. The veteran Hip-Hop collective have tentatively named the album Hot Sauce Committee and the release will contain overtly political content. “It’s a lot of vocals, a lot of words — very wordy. And it’s political, depending on what you call political,” group member Adam ‘Ad-Rock’ Horovitz said.

Def Jam is planning a new rap-related video game title with 4mm Studios. The new game, titled Def Jam Rapstar, is currently being developed as a Hip-Hop karaoke title. According to developers working on the game, Rapstar will cover over 30 years of music, including new music being timed and created for the release of the game, which is slated to hit stores this Winter.

American Gangster, the acclaimed series that debuted on BET, has been acquired by A&E Networks. A&E snagged the rights to seasons 1-3 of the series, which takes an in depth look at some of urban America’s most notorious criminals and gangs. The series, which is narrated by actor Ving Rhames, will air on A&E’s Crime & Investigation Network cable channel. “American Gangster is one of BET’s most critically acclaimed and thought-provoking series, and we’re extremely proud of the success the show has enjoyed on our network,” said Michael D. Armstrong, Senior Vice President & General Manager, BET International. “We’re excited that it will be reaching a new worldwide audience through this landmark deal with A&E.

Tone Loc Collapses During Concert

Rapper Tone Loc collapsed and passed out and had a seizure during an outdoor concert in Florida.

According to reports, Tone Loc, born Anthony Smith, was performing at the Capt’n Fun Beach Club early Friday morning (May 29).

He apparently suffered the seizure due to overheating, although the temperature of the atmosphere was listed in the low 80’s.

During his six-song set, he made several references to the heat, before he passed out on the stage.

The rapper was rushed to a nearby hospital in an ambulance, where he is currently being treated.

According to reports, this is not the first time Tone Loc has suffered from a seizure on stage.

He also had one during a performance in Charlotte, N.C. on January 2008.

Tone Loc is known around the world for his voice and hit singles “Wild Thing” and “Funky Cold Medina,” which helped introduce Hip-Hop to new audiences.

He has also done extensive voice work for commercials and cartoons.

Tone Loc has also appeared in a number of high profile movies, including 1994’s blockbuster, Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, which also starred Jim Carrey.

Nas a No-Show at Canada Concert

An anticipated Nas concert turned ugly last night in Torbay, Newfoundland when the legendary lyricist failed to show.

The show was scheduled for a St. John’s venue, and featured Canadian artist Kardinal Offishall in an opening set.

As the night wore on, fans became enraged upon the realization that Nas would not be performing.

“The crowd [was] getting out of control,” stated CBC News reporter Zach Goudie. “By 10:30, Nas still hadn’t taken the stage, and it started to become obvious he wasn’t coming. There was a lot of beer can throwing … and very quickly the police were called in by security.”

Police later confirmed that several fans were arrested at the scene.

Although the reason for Nas’ absence has not been confirmed, rumors allege the Queensbridge star did show up in town, but could not come to re-negotiation terms with the concert’s promoter, who allegedly lost the show money to an unscrupulous middle man.

Nas next album, the Damian Marley duet LP Distant Relatives, is scheduled to be released on June 23.

At press time, it is unknown if Nas will reschedule the St. John’s event.

Andre Berto: Young Lion On Deck

It’s an exciting time in the welterweight division for boxing fans.

With the return of former boxing pound for pound #1 Floyd Mayweather,

the weight class adds his name to a list of big names which includes

Shane Mosley, Miguel Cotto, and Manny Pacquiao. The one name you don’t

hear as often is undefeated young gun Andre Berto, who defends his WBC

portion of the welterweight title this coming Saturday (May 30) on HBO

(9:45 ET) against hard-punching Juan Urango. At 25, Berto finds himself

not mentioned among the proposed “super fights” of division, as the

established vets look to cash out through careful matchmaking.

But time is on Andre Berto’s side. And less than four years into his

career, the Haitian star is reaching a level where even the older

superstars won’t be able to ignore him much longer.

AllHipHop.com: First champ, thanks for making time while in training

camp for the May 30 fight.

Andre Berto: Oh no problem man I appreciate it.

AllHipHop.com: This is your third defense of the WBC title. How has your

training been going?

Berto: Training camp is going real well. I’ve been trying a lot of new

things in this camp I haven’t done before. I brought some other

members to the team. This is probably the best training I’ve ever had.

It’s been hard and intense. I’m definitely in good shape.

AllHipHop.com: Juan Urango’s a pretty dangerous puncher, at least at

140 pounds. We’ll see as he’s moving up in weight now for this

fight. And you know some of your critics have been questioning your chin

because of the one knockdown last year. When you’ve been reviewing the

tape of Urango, what have you been focusing on to nullify his punching

power?

Berto: Like you said, he’s a really strong puncher at 140. We’re

gonna see whether he’s going to bring that up with him to 147. We’re

working on a lot of different things. His best punch is the right hook.

We worked on going away from that, moving when we have to. But at the

same time, I’m a big puncher too at 147. I don’t feel that he’s

ever fought another big puncher. I’m just as strong as he is. So I’m

going to test out his chin also.

AllHipHop.com: Your January fight with Luis Collazo was a Fight of the

Year candidate. You showed a lot of poise in that bout even though there

were a lot of rough patches. Was there anything new that you learned

about yourself as a fighter going through those tough 12 rounds?

Berto: Yeah, a lot of what I saw is that I have the stamina and the

heart. And that I can keep my composure in rough times. I went into that

fight for the first time in my career not really prepared like everyone

normally sees me, physically and mentally. We had a lot of things going

on through camp. I pretty much came into that fight at a 50% range.

People who really know me could tell. But at the same time it still

showed a lot that I was able to show a lot of poise and heart. I

answered a lot of questions for myself.

AllHipHop.com: Before Shane [Mosley] fought Antonio Margarito, it seemed

like HBO was trying to push him into a fight with you. Do you think

that’s going to be difficult now with Mayweather and Pacquiao back in

the mix at 147?

Berto: It’s all good, though. It’s more competition for us in

general. I’m not too much in an extreme rush. I’m the youngest guy

in the top group and I’m world champion. Eventually everything is

going to come back to me. [The fights] are going to be there for me. I

don’t look at it like a fight is being taken away from me. Its more

fights getting prepared for me in the future with a lot of big names.

AllHipHop.com: You’ve been self-critical of some of the defensive

lapses you’ve had in past fights. Where do you see yourself at now as

far as your defensive skills?

Berto: I believe in every fight, people have seen me grow and evolve as

a professional on nationwide TV and HBO. I’ve had half of my career

fights rated on a television scale. So people can see the progression

when it comes to the defense, speed, and being poised in there. I’m

being more of a professional fighter. In every camp I try to work on a

lot of new things. When you stop learning, you’re pretty much stuck.

I’m my biggest critic.

AllHipHop.com: On that note, I think a lot of people forget that 4 years

ago you were still an amateur fighter. What has been the biggest

adjustment from moving to a professional?

Berto: I pretty much always had a professional style in the amateurs.

The toughest thing is just to stay composed throughout 12 rounds. You

get used to just going 4 rounds and throwing as many punches as you can

throw and be aggressive. The main thing for a lot of amateurs turning

pro is to take your time and set up a lot of your shots. I believe with

me that has been the toughest thing to get used to. But like you said,

people do forget I’m 4 years in. There are a lot of high expectations.

But you got to keep working.

AllHipHop.com: I remember early last year, around January or February,

you had a fight on the table with Zab Judah which he ended up turning

down. Today of course you’re now a bigger name. Zab is still where

he’s been at the last few years but is still a name opponent. Do you

think that is a fight that you’d still be interested in, or do you

feel you’re past that point in your career as a champion?

Berto: Zab is always in the position he is because of his name. He can

be put in that spotlight [because] he’s a dangerous fighter even

though he’s lost a lot of big shows. He seems to fall when under the

big lights. But he’s still a dangerous fighter for anybody. It depends

what he continues to do. If he beats some more real fighters it can

definitely be a fight that’s possible for us. But we are looking at

bigger fights.

AllHipHop.com: What you had Cosme Rivera fight, everyone seemed to focus

on the knockdown. What I focused on was that even though it was your

first knockdown, you didn’t seem hurt but more disappointed that you

got caught.

Berto: Definitely!

AllHipHop.com: Was it just a matter of you getting careless because you

controlled the majority of the fight?

Berto: That’s exactly what it was. I was just getting too comfortable

in there, and thinking after a few rounds he couldn’t do anything to

hurt me. I walked into a punch I didn’t see that shot me back down to

reality. I can’t get mad at it. Everybody talked about it, although I

made every other round. I kind of took it to heart but I had to sit back

and realize the scale that I’m on, the high expectations everyone has

for me. So I can’t be upset about it. This is the plateau that I’m

on. So I have to be thought of that way. Every mistake I do is going to

be pinpointed and blown out of proportion. But it’s either that or

people not caring about your performance at all. It keeps me sharp and

motivated.

AllHipHop.com: I know you’re a big boxing fan as well and try to catch

a lot of the fights. Were you able to catch the Miranda-Ward bout?

Berto: Yeah, I talked to Dre Ward the night of that fight.

AllHipHop.com: What did you think of his performance?

Berto: I think he did well. He came out of the same class as me, 2004.

He showed a lot of poise, versatility, and he showed it against a

dangerous opponent. He got cut in the first round and still had that dog

in him. A lot of the young guys nowadays, once that test comes in a

knockdown or cut, they’re not able to come back from that. I believe

he showed a lot of characteristics of a true champion.

AllHipHop.com: I wanted to get your take on an upcoming big fight from

your division in Joshua Clottey and Miguel Cotto next month. How do you

see that fight turning out?

Berto: It’s going to be a tougher fight than a lot of people expect. A

lot of people think Cotto will win and beat him easily, [but] Joshua

Clottey is a tough kid. He has a pretty good defense, and he knows how

to work off his defense. It’ll be interesting to see who shows up as

the better man that night.

AllHipHop.com: Of course everyone has been talking about what happened

with Pacquiao and Hatton earlier this month. I do remember when

Margarito beat Cotto last year, you were one of the few people that said

‘yeah he looked good, but he’s still beatable.” I wanted to get

your take on Pacquiao because now everyone is looking at him the same

way. Are there any holes you see in his game after observing his last

couple of fights?

Berto: Pacquiao is one of my favorite fighters right now. He’s

tremendously exciting. But it takes a certain type of fighter to get to

him. He has good skills. He has tremendous feet placement and accuracy

with his punches. The guy that gave him the best fight was [Juan Manuel]

Marquez, who’s very good fundamentally. A lot guys who think they’re

going to bully Pacquiao are the guys who end up getting knocked out and

seeing the lights after few punches. It’s going to take a smart, fast

fighter, and somebody good fundamentally to handle Pacquiao.

AllHipHop.com: You’ve fought as much as 7 times in one year. As you

know when you become more elite you’re lucky to get in 2 fights a

year. This is your second fight this year on May 30 with Urango. Are you

planning to fit in at least one more fight for 2009?

Berto: Definitely! If everything goes well on the 30th, I’ll be right

back towards the end of the year. I’ve been hearing rumors that HBO

wants another title bout this year. But we have to pick one fighter at a

time. We’ll continue to get back in there and have exciting fights.

AllHipHop.com: I heard a rumor that you’re a really good spoken word

poet…

Berto: [Laughs]

AllHipHop.com: I was interested in hearing that because a couple decades

ago that was Muhammad Ali’s thing going into fights. Was that

something you ever thought about incorporating into your press

conferences?

Berto: I’m not really sure. I like spoken word; it’s pretty much

something I really love and am a fan of. I’m a fan of the power of

words and the way poets put together their words. I’ve done some

spoken word situations in my off time or in training camp. I usually

keep it to myself or for friends. It would definitely be something

different to incorporate into today’s boxing world. Most fighters have

a little niche or something while in training camp to keep them calm and

level headed. Spoken word is definitely one for me.

AllHipHop.com: You have several family members who are professional MMA

fighters. Do you see any attributes that both sports can learn from each

other, at least in the realm of promotion?

Berto: Yeah, my thing with MMA right now is they’re out there with

marketing and promotion. With boxing it has been around for so long. We

have die hard fans. I believe we’ve eased off of marketing and

promotion unless it’s a really huge fight like De La Hoya, Mayweather,

or Pacquiao. But all in all, both sports are good. Boxing has a lot of

traditional history, and boxing will always be the #1 combat sport no

matter what other sports come around.

AllHipHop.com: I know you’re really good friends with T.I. What other

Hip-Hop artists are you feeling in today’s game?

Berto: I like my man Yo Gotti. Definitely my man Tip. Gucci Mane is

definitely doing his thing on the streets. My man young Drake is the new

sensation right now. I’ve been listening to a lot of his stuff and

he’s going to be a problem. I had a conversation with my man Jay-Z

after my last fight. I’ve always been a huge fan of his and he showed

a lot of love and stated he was a big fan of me. I’m into a lot of

real artists that really get that love not just from fans but from the

streets. Those are the guys I’m really feeling right now.

AllHipHop.com: Mexican and Puerto Rican fighters have strong legacies in

boxing. I’ve gotten the impression you really want to establish that

for your native Haiti with building boxing gyms. With the visits

you’ve made out there, do you feel the country has a lot of national

untapped potential?

Berto: Definitely, the first trip out there we got a huge response. Our

hotel had a huge gang of fighters just out there to show us that they

just needed that help to get out there. It was an inspiration that

they’ll hopefully be able to follow in my footsteps. It’s a huge

untapped market when it comes to everything, not just boxing. In the

next year or two I’ll be able to establish something out there. And

when 2012 comes around we can have a real efficient boxing team from

Haiti. That’s the plan.

AllHipHop.com: Thanks for your time champ and best of luck this

Saturday.

Berto: I appreciate it my man, anytime.

Rev. Run, Wife Justine Pitch In to Build New Bronx Playground

Rapper/reality show star Rev. Rev and his wife, Justine Simmons, are spearheading heading efforts to make the outdoors more appealing to kids with the construction of a new playground.

The couple is partnering with the national nonprofit organization KaBoom!, Kool-Aid and more than 200 volunteers to help build the playground at the Odyssey House, 1328 Clinton Avenue, Bronx, NY.

The Bronx playground build is the first of more than 220 builds organized by KaBoom! that will take place across the country this year.

According to organizers, more than 7,500 children will benefit from the event, which will kick off at 8:30 a.m. on June 18. at the Odyssey House.

In addition to the volunteers, Rev. Run and Justine will be on hand to participate in the construction of the playground.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony to dedicate the new playground will conclude the event at 2:30 p.m.

The playground build is part of a bigger effort by organizers to promote the importance of children going outside to play as well as remind parents to encourage their kids to do so.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends that children and adolescents engage in 60 minutes or more of physical activity each day.

The organization’s website suggests doing exercises that range from aerobic activity (brisk walking, running, bicycle riding,) to muscle strengthening (push-ups, gymnastics, sit-ups) to bone strengthening (jumping rope, running, and sports such as basketball, volleyball or tennis) at least three days a week.

The Last Word: Kelly Rowland Takes On a New Genre, Amy Winehouse Snubs Quincy Jones, and Sade Returns!

How’s the life? The weekend has approached after a short

work week filled with Sonia Sotomayor potentially becoming the first Hispanic

and third woman to sit on the Supreme Court if her nomination to the bench is

confirmed and North Korea testing the world with launching more nuclear

missiles.

Thoughts and prayers go out to Mike Tyson for the loss of

his daughter Exodus on Tuesday (May 26). Congratulations to T.I. and Tiny, who

reportedly got married last week and Robert DeNiro, who recently became a grandfather

after his son welcomed a new baby boy last week. Happy Birthday to Dr. Forte,

who is thankful for another one.

Shout out to Smokey Robinson, who will receive the ASCAP

Rhythm & Soul Heritage Award at the organization’s 22nd annual kudos gala

on June 26 and the sounding boards for never going into a situation without a

plan.

So let’s get to it…the Last Word for the week ending May 29,

2009.

1. Robin Givens Makes IRS Most Wanted List

In yet another case of celebs trying to dodge the long arm

of debt, Robin Givens has gotten the attention of the IRS.

According Forbes.com, the actress is being sued by the US

government over what it says is $292,000 of unpaid federal taxes, interest and

penalties that go as far back as 1996.

In a recently filed lawsuit, the government requested formal

judgment against Givens in a Tampa, Fla. federal court on 39 separate

assessments covering eight of the 12 calendar years through 2007.Through this,

it would be easier for the IRS garnish Givens’ earnings or levy assets such as

bank accounts in an effort to collect the allegedly unpaid amounts.

The suit stems from Givens’ failure to pay $222,000 in

federal taxes. The remaining $70,000 demanded by the government pertains to

interest and assorted penalties for failure to pay, underpayment of estimated

tax and late filing. The pleading does not state what her total income or tax

was for the years in question, nor the extent of any partial tax payments,

Forbes stated.

And to add insult to injury, the magazine lists the actress

1,224 out of 1,400 on his Forbes “star currency” list.

2. Kelly Rowland Dances to a New Beat; Starts New Charity

R&B fans have known and grown with Kelly Rowland through

time with Destiny’s Child and as a solo artist. Now, the singer is stepping

into new arena as she enjoys the success of “When Love Takes Over,”

her hit collaboration with DJ David Guetta.

The song, which is the first single from Guetta’s

forthcoming album, One Love, has become

a hit on the Hot Dance Airplay chart with a recent as well as a wake up call

for Rowland to explore an alternative to R&B. The songbird recalled her

first encounter with Guetta’s music while taking in one of the French DJ’s

performances last summer.

“I had spent nights dancing in the South of France from12:45

a.m. to 8 in the morning, but I had never thought about recording a dance track

myself. Hearing David’s song made me consider taking on this whole new style,”

Rowland told Billboard.

Guetta fans can look for Rowland when she appears with the

DJ at various spots on his summer tour. In the meanwhile, Kelly is keeping busy

on other fronts as she co-hosts Bravo’s new series The Fashion Show with style guru Isaac Mizrahi and gears up to start

a new charity called I Heart My Girlfriend. The program will serve as an

interactive support system for teenage girls.

At this time, there are now solid plans for another Rowland

solo album as she is still between labels. But if “When Love Takes Over” is any

indication, we could be doing more dancing to Kelly’s music down the road.

“This has definitely inspired me to put more of a dance

sound on an album of my own,” the entertainer said. “I want to try

out that world without straying too far from my urban roots.”

3. James Brown’s Kids Make Peace With Singer’s Widow

The fight over James Brown’s estate has come to an end.

E! Online reports that an agreement has been reached between

Brown’s six adult children and his widow, Tomi Rae Hynie.

Per the terms of the agreement, about half of Brown’s assets

will be placed in a charitable trust set up by the Godfather of Soul to pay for

his grandchildren’s education and to help needy children in South Carolina and

Georgia; a quarter will go to Hynie and her young son with Brown, James Brown

II. The rest will be split among Brown’s older children.

“From the perspective of the charitable beneficiaries,

the risks of not approving the settlement agreement are substantial,”

Judge Jack Early wrote in his decision, while noting that more than $1 million

has been spent in legal fees and other estate-related expenses.

The settlement concludes months of arguing between Hynie and

Brown’s grown children. And Tomi is happy for the peace as she expressed a

desire to “work with the trustees and other Brown family members to promote

James Brown’s legacy.”

Now if only the Martin Luther King Jr.’s kids could get

along and end their drama, then maybe him and James can truly rest in peace.

4. Amy Winehouse Snubs Quincy Jones; Goes Into the

Fashion Business

Just what is going on with Amy Winehouse? As if being a

slave to drugs and taking her sweet time in releasing new music wasn’t enough,

she’s now missing out on paying homage to the great Quincy Jones.

The Daily Mirror

reports that plans for Winehouse to contribute to an all-star tribute album for

Jones have fallen apart. And the songstress has no one to blame but herself as

a source detailed what it was that caused the latest in a long line of missed

opportunities.

“Basically after Amy’s horrendous gig in St Lucia, and

then pulling out of the Island 50th birthday gig, everyone realized she wasn’t

going to get it together,” the source said. “Quincy Jones is one of the

most respected men in the music industry, so it was a huge honor for Amy to be

asked to record for him. To snub him is a big no-no.”

Needless to say, Q isn’t thrilled at being snubbed.

Especially after he invited her and producer Mark Ronson to record a song for

the album tribute after meeting them last summer at the Nelson Mandela 90th

birthday concert.

According to the Mirror,

Winehouse kept Jones on a string for almost a year after agreeing to do the

tribute. As a result, the track (a new version of Lesley Gore’s “You Don’t Own

Me”) has been dropped from the album as well as Q’s hopes of having Amy perform

with Michael Jackson at a launch for the CD. Now how cool (or disastrous) would

that have been.

I guess if music doesn’t work out for Amy, she has something

to fall back on. The folks at Marie Claire say that the Grammy winner has

joined forces with London-based fashion company PPQ to launch her very own

clothing line.

The collection, which will be inspired Winehouse’s retro

style, is in the first stages, according to PPQ designer Amy Molyneaux, who

says the line will be “all about high-end statement pieces”

“For example, maybe a dress or an amazing piece of jewelry

like a bracelet,” she added. “It’s going to be distributed online, we are

going to be providing all materials and doing the design, but Amy will

definitely be involved in the creative process.”

I wonder just how “involved” Amy will be. Makes you wonder

if the clothing line will reflect Amy’s style BC (Before Crack). Any

suggestions on what to name the clothing collection?

5. Sade Comes Out of Musical Hibernation for New Album

It may be a little early, but ’tis the season for the return

of vintage R&B. First, it was Guy and Blackstreet. Then Ginuwine, Al B.

Sure! and the Commodores. Now comes the biggest to date with the return of the

one and only Sade!

This is not a rumor. Sade’s website, www.sade2009.com, confirms

that a new album from the vocalist is coming on November 24, 2009. At this

point, no title for the project has been released.

Normally, an item this brief would occupy In Other Words…,

but this is main item news. I guess it’s safe to say that ‘09 is the year

R&B came home.

6. Taraji P. Henson Goes Nude for In Style; Reveals

Celebrity Crush

With an Oscar nomination on her resume, the possibilities

are infinite for Taraji P. Henson. Professionally and personally. And if you

want to get next to the actress, it helps to know what she defines as sexy.

“Sexy is a feeling that comes from having an understanding

of yourself,” said Henson, who appears nude for In Style magazine’s annual sexy issue. “You can be sexy in

sweats.”

As for what brings out her sexy, the answer lies in jazz

music as Taraji admits, “the instruments tease you. I let my mind run away.”

For those wondering about Henson’s celebrity crush, the

entertainer revealed it is none other than fellow Oscar nominee Salma Hayek. Picture

that, if you will, and let your mind truly run away.

In Other Words…

* Not one to let his fame make him untouchable, Usher is

making local moves as the newest member of the Woodruff Arts Center’s 79-member

board of trustees. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports the entertainer was

among six new Woodruff trustees announced last week. In addition to the board,

Usher also joined Woodruff’s education task force as he shared his thoughts on

he was “so honored to be invited” onto the group.

“I first and foremost would like to give more young people,

who wouldn’t otherwise have the means, the opportunity to experience art

programming at the Woodruff Arts Center,” the crooner shared with the paper via

e-mail. “I also hope to share new ideas that can combine art and service as

powerful agents of change in Atlanta.”

* Martini has a new spokeswoman, and her name is Thandie

Newton. According to reports, the actress has signed on as the spokeswoman for

the company’s “Stay Beautiful” campaign. Under the new endorsement deal, Newton

will be featured in a series of ads styled by fashion guru Bay Garnett and

photographed by A-list photographer Anders Overgaard in an exclusive London

members club.

“She was a natural choice to be our ambassador for 2009

due to her cutting edge style and passion for fashion and beauty,” a Martini

spokesperson said about the company’s decision to use Newton as the spokeswoman

for a new rose version of the drink. “She has an inspirational lifestyle, while

still being a role model that women can relate to.”

* The Wayans Brothers are doing more than make people laugh

as the family teams up with the NorthStar Moving Corporation and The Clothes

Off Our Back Foundation to donate their designer shirts, jeans, jackets and

sweaters for an auction to benefit children’s charities.

The sale is currently going on at the Foundation’s web site,

www.clothesoffourback.org and will conclude at 5 p.m. PDT June 9. Proceeds will

go to Feeding America, The Art of Elysium, Hope North and H.E.L.P. Malawi.

EVE DISSES CHRIS BROWN

You know Eve has been vocal about domestic violence. She blasts Chris Brown. I can’t help but wonder, shouldn’t she be coming to Charles Hamilton’s rescue too?

Here is what she said:

hold on hold on!! im just gonna reach out to some of ya’ll out there and say this bluntly, why do ppl keep tryin to protect chris browns a**

hes guilty until proven innocent, and no man should ever raise a hand to a woman, im so sick of people kissin his a**..yeh i did just watch

a clip of him saying he isnt a monster…yeh motherf**ker u are. let him or any other man come to me with power fists..id f### him up..

and a message to rihanna…girl your beautiful and talented and u dont need a n***a like that around u…ur special and deserve better…

She’s supposedly going to finally drop that album by October of this year.

IS TIMBALAND MAD AT JAY?

Somebody let me know that my Autotune rumor was a bit off. Jay-Z’s got no ill will to Kanye, but there is something awry. First of all, Jay-Z is supposedly giving the technology its official eulogy with the song “Autotune is Dead.” Also, Kanye is supposedly finished with it and will rap again on the next one. I wonder what T-Pain has to say about this. From what I understand or have been told, the person who had the most problem and did the majority of the hating on the Autotune was Timbaland, who had reportedly been cutting records with Jay for a minute. Here’s the kicker that p##### Tim off… all his records with Jay had been autotuned to some extent or another. Apparently, the use of the tool was a bit too noticeable. I heard the song were all tracked in Los Angeles and then mixed in Hawaii, which makes sense. These recordings were supposedly done during Justin Timberlake and Leona Lewis sessions and this is why both Ye and Timb were both there. It looks like the Timbaland songs might be scrapped or redone. Timbaland has had serious crossover success, but his most recent work with the Pussycat Dolls and rocker Chris Cornell haven’t fared as well so this Jay-Z stuff is big for him.

On a side note, it’s rumored that Jay is very close to joining B over at Sony/Columbia Records. How special.

PIMP JUICE IS OUT OF BUSINESS!

Wasn’t it Nelly that owned or supposedly supported Pimp Juice? Well, it looks like the pillars have crumbled. I don’t know anybody that actually went out and copped the controversial drink, but its gone beer belly-up, pimps. Rumor has it, there are only 15 cases of the drink left. Here to you, PIMP!

CORRECTION: THIS IS DRAKE’S ASSISTANT AND SHE DID NOT SLEEP WITH DRAKE.

Anyway, Drake is rumored to be trying to get RiRi, but she is taking it slow. I guess time’s going to tell this story.

DAMN – WHOO KID!

Yung Berg’s bad 08 just wont stop rearing its ugly head. Here is a pic of DJ Whoo Kid talking about how he’s got the chain now. He says its happy in Milwaukee.

When will they let Berg move on!?

I did my research and I totally thought Teyana Taylor was 17. I got several emails stating that she’s 18. I realized that AHH covered her 18th birthday in December! Here is that pic.

Part 2 of Hoopz sex video has leaked on the net. Its nothing to really go ape over.

Pauly Shore saw Wale at a restaurant and thought he was Kanye. Wale should have just played along with it.

Redman and Meth are supposedly working on “How High 2.” I hope they can make it happen.

RANDOM QUOTES

Rick Ross on Jay-Z leaving Def Jam (Source unknown):

“Yeah it affected me, it effected me in a great way. It let me know that my mentality and the way that I see things is right on time, you know what I mean? I love to see Jay go on to new, bigger and better things. He became a president of the biggest label in the business. He showed he was successful, he signed me and I got two number ones back to back. Now, he’s going to do bigger and better things and that’s more important to all the black kids in the ghetto, the Marcy projects or the projects where I’m from. It just lets us know that the sky is the limit, real talk.”

EPIC FAIL OF THE DAY

Ciara…I like you, but I be DAMNED if I let you get out of this week without being my fail of the day! Look at this, yall!

Buy some damn chicken and get a damn Ciara album for free! Tell me who thought of this career-ending move! Damn them, CiCi!

SIGNS THE WORLD IS COMING TO AN END

Since people are going crazy on the kids, why not keep it going on this fine Friday!? What’s going on Utah? You didn’t think I saw what happened the other day, did you? A 21-year-old man was approached by a 17-year-old girl and she made him an offer he should have had sense enough to refuse. But, he didn’t. See, the girl was 7-months preggers and up and decided that she didn’t want it. So what does she muster up in her brain? She asks Arron Harrison to beat the baby to death while it still lives in her belly. They would pretend that she was attacked. Last week, dude pummels her stomach and she runs and tells her mom and dad she was sexually assaulted. They tell the cops and the cops smell the BS a mile away. Arron is looking at something like 15 years for attempted murder. The girl is in a detention center. Oh, guess what? She’s still pregnant. Wonder what glorious story she will have to tell her sweet baby when she arrives.

THE MAN WITH 21 KIDS

This man is a walking fail. Poor dude and poor kids. He should have just got his nuts hacked off.

T.I.’s Girl, Lil Wayne’s Ex Star In ‘Tiny & Toya’ Reality Show

Former Xscape singer Tameka “Tiny” Cottle and Lil’ Wayne’s ex-wife Antonia “Toya” Carter are set to star in a new BET reality series, the network announced this week.

Tiny and Toya will chronicle the two women defining their purpose and building a brighter future for themselves.

Based in Atlanta, the new show follows the lives of these two young women, who in addition to co-parenting two of Hip-Hop’s biggest stars, also happen to be best friends.

Tiny and Toya will follow the two as they strive “to find inner-strength, peace and purpose,” a description of the show says.

Both women are also seeking to be defined outside of the shadow of the men in their lives.

Despite her success with 90s R&B group Xscape and being a Grammy and ASCAP Award winning songwriter, Tiny is best known for her ongoing long-term relationship with rapper T.I.

The two have two sons together, the oldest of which is now four.

The couple made headlines yesterday (May 27) when, on the day after T.I. started his jail sentence on federal gun charges, a source close to the family announced that they were in fact married.

However, today (May 28), T.I.’s publicist Sydney Margetson dismissed the reports as “absolutely not true.”

Toya Carter is the mother of Lil’ Wayne’s eldest Reginae Carter.

Five years after the birth of their daughter, Wayne and Toya got married on Valentine’s Day 2004.

However, they divorced two years later.

A year later, in 2007, Toya made headlines when she spoke to Vibe Magazine about the relationship after her ex had denied in interviews that they were ever in love.

The first Tiny and Toya 30-minute episode will debut at 10pm on June 30.
