Eminem Launches Fictional Drug Rehabilitation Site

To accompany his new album Relapse, Eminem has created a unique viral website titled “Popsomp Hills,” a fictional rehabilitation clinic which makes patients worse after treatment.

At www.PopsompHills.com, visitors are greeted by a quote from Ralph Nader on addiction treatment and links to a consultation number and email address.

Once digging deeper, unsuspecting readers will quickly discover the site’s true intent.

The “Learn More” portion of the page leads to a Wikipedia link for Hell, and the “Terms and Conditions” portion bluntly lays clear their intentions.

“Thank you for caring. Unfortunately, it will never be enough to save you,” it ominously states. “We are not fair people. We make mistakes under the influence just like you did in order to get you here. Life is too short, party harder than ever. We can help. Pain is not only tolerated- in fact it’s encouraged.”

The “Privacy Policy” continues the entertainment, and satirizes any idea of true privacy in today’s web-based society.

“Nothing is private in this world. Let’s not kid each other here,” the clinic deadpans. “We don’t trust you. We don’t even trust ourselves. We tell our staff all of your secrets. All confidential information provided to us during the course of your treatment will ultimately be used against you.”

The website/program “founder” is Dr. Balzac, whose rehabilitation slogan is “humanity is not kind. Impassionate is new passion.”

The overall theme ties into Relapse’s recurrent pill addiction motif, as seen in Eminem’s recently released album cover art, and an official picture on www.eminem.com showing the Detroit emcee checking into Popsomp Hills.

Fans interested in reaching a “physician” for consultation can call 313-486-5975, or email in**@**********ls.com.

Asher Roth: Asleep in the Bread Aisle (Review)

It is truly a White man’s world, but White artists are largely unrepresented as rappers in Hip-Hop. Sure there were acts like the Beastie Boys and 3rd Base, but that was the 80’s and early 90’s. A scrawny Detroit MC emerged in 1998 with a dirty mouth and a knack for tongue-twisting wordplay shattered the “ Vanilla Ice” stigma with his controversial bars and the chart topping albums that soon followed. Eminem changed the game; or did he? In the 11 years since Em’s entrance not one light-skinned wordsmith has achieved mainstream success. Enter Asher Roth, another scrawny White rapper with a vocal quality close to that of his multi-platinum forerunner. Despite a likeness in voice and skin tone, Asher manages to create his own lane with his debut, Asleep in the Bread Aisle.

The album begins with the neck-breaking thumper “Lark On My Go-Kart.” Asher rides the break-beat and guitar-laden banger flawlessly putting naysayers on blast with his clever wordplay. “Me and Teddy Ruxpin stirring up a ruckus/ egging all the houses, smashing all the pumpkins/ Suck a d**k, butt kiss…” Regardless of the clear Slim Shady influence, the display is impressive and sets the tone for other lyrical onslaughts like the album highlight “Sour Patch Kids.”

Asher wins again with the summer-ready “Be By Myself” featuring the incredibly consistent Gnarles Barkley front man and Goodie Mob veteran Cee-Lo. The song’s PG-13 feel gives it a fun rock n roll vibe prevalent in the album. It is when this mood takes a turn for the cheesy that Asher begins to slip up. Songs like the laughable “Blunt Crusin’,” the Jazze Pha check chaser “Bad Day” and the unlistenable “She Don’t Wanna Man” are amateur concepts that seem more like bullet points in the Asher Roth college marketing scheme rather than songs on a debut album. Asher regains his artistry with the surprisingly soulful “His Dream” on-which he weaves a story of a father giving up own his own aspirations so that his child can realize his.

Musically, Asleep in the Bread Aisle pushes boundaries with its rock-inspired production. Lyrically, there is no question that Asher Roth can rap. While the vocal similarities to his legendary pale predecessor are blatant and at times distracting, content-wise, Asher is quite different. While far from the classic project those close to the process were touting it, Asleep in the Bread Aisle is an admirable debut from a talented young artist searching for his own voice. No pun intended.

Pharrell Gets Tattoos Removed

Pharrell Williams, the lead singer of N.E.R.D., is no longer enamored with his tattoos and the artist has started to have his body art removed.

The rapper recently underwent laser surgery to have the tattoos burned out if his skin.

Pharrell recently posted a picture of his bandaged arms after the surgery took place.

“Laser treatment b**ches! Extra crispy. See, no skin graft here, just pure laser pain,” Pharrell said. “This is our own version of Mythbusters! Laser is the new primer.”

Initially, Williams stated that he was going to attempt to cultivate new skin cells and graft the new tissue over his tattoos.

In early 2008, he said, “”It’s going to be pricey, but f**k it, it’s worth it. I got fire on my arms! I’m a grown man! There’s an institute called the Wake Forest Institute in North Carolina for Regenerative Skin Treatment. It’s basically like getting a skin graft, but you’re not taking skin from your ass or your legs. These guys actually grow the skin for you.”

Below is a picture of the recent surgery.

Hip-Hop Rumors: Rick Ross Gets Upset At DJ! Asher Friends Step Up! Idris Elba Remixes A Hit!

DISCLAIMER:

All content within this section is pure rumor and generally have no factual info outside of what the streets have whispered in our ear. Read on.

RESPECT MY CONGLOMERATE!!!!!!

Idris Elba has done a lot of work as an actor. He’s got range. I have to admit though, dude will always be Stringer Bell to me. In a year or so I am going to start watching the first season of “The Wire” and pretend it’s new. Sorry. Here is the rumor. I heard that Big Dris did a remix of “Respect My Conglomerate” with Busta and the crew. I don’t know who else was apart of the remix though. I do know that Idris is really sick, but they were trying to do it anyway.

ASHER ROTH CLEAR UP?

Asher Roth is sorry! If you want to know why he is sorry, click here! OK? LOL. While he has yet to formally comment, several people that know him have hit me up and said he was making fun of Don Imus. They recognize that it was stupid of him to make the “nappy headed hoes” comment. Also, the rumor that his account was hacked is false and they say Ashy never said that. Somebody else made that comment and it started to spread. Here is what this source said:

“But Ash is sorry, and really meant nothing by it. He’s a good dude, and doesn’t hate. This is gonna be like the eminem “black b####” song all over again. put this on the rumors, its important we get this across to real hip hop fans. He meant nothing by it and is sorry.”

Uhm..everybody read “Twitter Will End Your Music Career”

WE LOVE YOU!

This is a letter I got from somebody that emails me regularly.

Why are you writing about that punk ass white boy asher roth? WASTE OF TIME! and then had the nerve to say….WE LOVE YOU?! who the f**k is we? NOT US! come on illseed, YOU CAN DO BETTER THEN THAT.

Just for the record – Asher Roth aside – the “We love you” at the end of every rumors page is a feature for people whether we love them or not. I don’t even hate Ashy, but I am just saying. That space is for everybody!

I HATE COLLEGE!

I get hit with so much music, I don’t have time to mess with it all. But this one caught my eye, especially with all that’s going on with Asher. Check out Big Frame and his rendition of Ashy’s “I Love College” – “I HATE COLLEGE.” He sounds a lot like Ashy too. 35 year old freshmen!!!!

HIP-HOP IS IN THE ‘BURG

I remember when I first rapped about Pittsburgh. I left the “H” off the end. They wouldn’t let me hear the end of it. Now, I’m happy to say that I have a great relaionship with the state. My car has trouble with the huge hills, but that’s a different story. LOL. I got a note from rapper Marchitect and he was up there in The ‘Burgh. Here’s the report back.

Peace Illseed, This is Marchitect straight out of Delaware. I was kicking it with Ko the Knockout and the people from Nakturnal out in Pittsburgh Thursday night, and I stumbled upon an event at Carnegie Mellon University. Jasiri x opened up the night, and killed it. I saw him on AllHipHop.com but I never seen em rock live… very tight. He also JUST recorded a song with Planet Asia so look for that. Then a live Hip-Hop band from Pittsburgh called Formula 412 straight killed it. They are going to blow up through the roof soon!! You see a lot of live hip hop bands, but not too many like this. Then Invincible (she was the headliner), formerly of the Anomolies, kicked one of the realest sets I’ve ever seen. She repped Detroit tough…She had footage of the destruction there, AND had footage she taped from her tour of Palestine, in the background and probably dropped one of the illest freestyles ever with a girl named GoD Is.Paradise the producer and founding member of XClan was in the house, and is still holding it down strong for Hip Hop out there. They need to stop sleepin on Pittsburgh… and Delaware!!!! Shout to Dj Bonix!!!

EPIC FAIL/WIN OF THE DAY!

Jennifer Holiday and J-Hud got nothing on NAMATA! YOU’RE GONNA LOVE HIM! LOL. This dude is the new “why must I cry.” Check him out and see if you can make it through the whole 4:33. Get down or LAY DOWN! This applies especially if you are a White chick. LMAO!

SIGNS THE WORLD IS COMING TO AN END

People can be so dumb. A kid that is 5 years old…that’s kindergarten age…poops and all hell breaks loose. The 5 year old comes home to his parents with a note that says, “This little t### was found on the floor in my room.” In a bag, the boy’s teacher had taken his doo doo and put it in a bag and sent it back to his parents. Now, how dumb is that? That was just asinine. Sue Graham, a 58-year-old teacher, is the person in question and she is under investigation. She lives in Yakima, Washington. What’s worse is the father said he doesn’t believe the dookie is his son’s, even though he admitted his boy had a “problem” once in a bathroom.

RICK ROSS DOESN’T BELIEVE HE’S LOSING ANYTHING

This is an interesting video. Rick Ross said “my brother” more than Malcolm X! They were trying to get a rise out of him. Check it out.

Click here to watch Rick talk about wanting to get a rush out of battling Eminem.

TIA’S REVENGE?

Remember Tia? I don’t know whats the deal, but I heard she’s about to drop this book with 50 Cent the day before Eminem’s CD drops. Could Eminem get weaved into this now, as a part of the battle? Her brother’s name is Trabone and I heard he’s riding with his sister 110% on this. The other day, they allegedly showed up to the signing in Florida, where Rick Ross greeted all his adorning fans. Tia stayed in the car, but Ross knows Trabone personally so everybody’s eyes were affixed on him. I heard that about 10 minutes upon arrival, Miami Dade Police advised them we had 5 minutes to leave the premises before they would get arrested. From what I understand Trabone had a LOT of pics, stories, original lyrics, and videos of Ross. From what I am being told, there is a lot of backdoor wrangling going on and there is more coming out publicly. They are not happy how Ross “did” their sis.

THE SUPERHUMAN BEAT BOX!!!!!!

“My name is Daichi, I am 18 years old Japanese.” This dude is incredible. He should produce these beats!!!!!

Shout out to Mr. Rhymestyle!

Check out this new song with Raekwon and The Game called “Flash Back Memories” HIP-HOP!

There is a swelling movement calling for the arrest of Karl Rove for abuse of power.

Vivica Fox is reportedly feeling Flo Rida. Wonder if he is feeling her back?

Click here for the new Eminem song.

Diddy is reportedly looking to create a new version of Danity Kane called Danity Kane with new girls.

Trey Songz is reportedly interested in bedding Adrienne Bailon – LOL. Isnt she engaged?

MIKE TYSON COMMENTS ON CHRIS BROWN

“My personal opinion about that is, he’s just a baby. He’s just a little baby that don’t know how to handle his emotions when it comes to a woman. It’s none of my business, but you know what I say about that? I understand the situation. I understand passion with young kids.”

BOW WOW AT THE SIXERS GAME

Xzibit Faces Foreclosure; Snoop Hit With $284k Tax Lien

The economic crisis continues to affect various entertainers, as rapper Xzibit is the latest celebrity whose home is facing foreclosure.

According to TMZ.com, the West coast rapper owes over $21,000 in back mortgage payments, with foreclosure on his Woodland Hills, California home looming on the horizon.

Last week it was revealed that Xzbit owed the cash-strapped state of California $205,485 for unpaid taxes in 2007 and another $296,355 for taxes unpaid in 2006.

Xzibit joins a long list of entertainers, like T-Boz, Doug E. Fresh, Method Man, Fantasia Barrino, Dionne Warwick and comedian Sinbad, who have all run into financial difficulties.

Just today (April 24), it was learned that even chart-topping rapper Snoop Dogg was behind on his taxes.

Snoop, who is planning to hit the road for the “Blazed and Confused” tour in July with Stoopid and Stephen Marley, currently owes California $284,053 in back taxes.

Xzbit and Snoop Dogg are not alone in the financial crisis.

California is one of four U.S. states with the worst foreclosure problem in the country due to the economic down-turn, the worst since the 1930’s.

California, Nevada, Florida and Arizona have the highest rate of foreclosures.

Troubled areas in California include Modesto, Bakersfield, Riverside, Stockton and Vallejo-Fairfield.

Over 800,000 homes have received at least one foreclosure notice since January.

Later this month, Xzibit will also take to the road on the Euro-Dollar European Tour.

Trend Alert: Denim Shirts and Jackets

For both men and women, denim button-up shirts and jackets are a must have right now.

Roll up your sleeves for that effortless look like Kanye did below, and you’re good to go.
