50 Cent Believes Jay Z Will Struggle At Boxing Promotion

WILL JAY SUCCEED IN THE PRIZE FIGHTING ARENA? 50 SHARES HIS THOUGHTS

(AllHipHop News) 50 Cent is known to have a very competitive nature. Especially when it comes to other Hip Hop moguls like Jay Z. While Jay has managed to find success in almost every business avenue he has attempted, 50 thinks his run at boxing promotion may not be a win for the Roc Nation Sports founder.

“I think they gonna clean Jay up,” 50 told BET. “The sport of boxing is going to clean him up and he’s going to find out it’s not like any other portion of business that he’s been involved in.”

It was revealed this summer that Roc Nation obtained a boxing license. The promotion’s first card, “Throne Boxing,” is scheduled for January 9 at the Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York. The event features Dusty Hernandez-Harrison (24-0, 13 KOs) taking on Tommy Rainone (22-5-1, 4 KOs).

Even though the management wing of Roc Nation has attracted high profile music artists and athletes like Kanye West, J. Cole, Rihanna, Kevin Durant, Robinson Cano, and CC Sabathia to its roster, 50 does not see the company’s move into prize fighting being as easy.

“You can’t just buy your way into it by purchasing existing companies and stuff like that,” added the SMS Boxing Promotions head. “You look at the roster of fighters…you have to have experienced people around to run it. But boxing is like the fur coat business…we don’t know how much they actually sold the jacket for.”
