Benzino was thrown in the slammer last night (Jan. 27) for trying to take loaded gun on his flight to Los Angeles, according to reports.
While going through the security checkpoint at Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, a TSA employee searched one of ‘Zino’s bags and found a loaded 9 millimeter gun with 7 rounds in the magazine. The former Love and Hip Hop: Atlanta star was then hauled off to jail. He was released on $3,000 bail.
Benzino and his fiancee, Althea Heart, were fired from LHH for allegedly making death threats towards his friend-turned-enemy Stevie J, Joseline Hernandez, producers and other staff members.

The mother of Ludacris’ child, whom she gave birth to while Ludacris was in a relationship, is currently in a heated custody battle with the newly-married rapper. Luda wants full custody of their daughter, which her mother, Tamika Fuller, says shouldn’t happen because he once begged her to get an abortion.
According to reports, Fuller testified in court that when she told Ludacris that she was pregnant he cried and said the baby would ruin his life and his career and said she should not have the baby because it would not grow up with their parents in the same home. She says that he also bribed her, offering $10,000 and a house if she agreed to get an abortion. Fuller also said that he gave her over $900 at one point to terminate the pregnancy.

Jay Z and Kanye West’s Grammy nominated single “N*ggas In Paris” will now have a clothing collection with its namesake.
A.P.C clothing line founder Jean Touitou has decided to name a part of his fall/winter 2015 line “N*ggas In Paris.” At the collection’s presentation, he explained the line’s meaning.
“I call this one look Last N*ggas in Paris. Why? Because it’s the sweet spot when the hood meets Bertolucci’s movie Last Tango in Paris. So that’s ‘N*ggas in Paris’ and Last N*ggas in Paris. Oh, I am glad some people laughed with me. Yes, I mean, it’s nice to play with the strong signifiers. The Timberland here is a very strong ghetto signifier. In the ghetto, it is all the Timberlands, all the big chain. Not at the same time—never; it’s bad taste. So we designed Timberlands with Timberland.”
After making this bold explanation, he released a statement to Style.com clarifying what he meant. He added that once he ran the idea past Mr. West to name part of the collection after his song, he gave him his blessing.
“One hip-hop song is called ‘Ni**as in Paris.’ One movie is called Last Tango in Paris,” he said. “I made looks which are a cross-over of those two references: the Timberland shoes and the sweat pants are iconic of hip-hop, and the camel hair color coat, worn with nothing under it, is iconic of that precise movie. I am friends with Kanye and he and I presented a joint collection at the same place, one year ago, and that this thing is only a homage to our friendship. As a matter of fact, when I came up with this idea, I wrote to him, with the picture of the look and the name I was giving to it, and he wrote back immediately saying something like, ‘I love this vibe.'”

J. Cole stopped by The Combat Jack Show for an in-depth sit down.
Cole reflected on the first time met Kendrick Lamar. The Born Sinner rapper said after watching him perform at a party in Los Angeles in 2010, he gave him major props. After they spoke, K. Dot sent him his songs “P#### and Patron” and “Cut You Off,” and Cole says he was so impressed that he wanted to add him to the Dreamville roster.
“I actually wanted to sign him, but I didn’t have my business right,” said the North Carolina native. “I was like ‘who the f### is a Top Dawg?’ Then it turned into some s### where he blew the f### up and reached levels that I haven’t reached. I didn’t know that n####’ would go platinum before me.”
Hollywood Cole also spoke on his controversial verse on “Fire Squad” where he compares Iggy Azalea, Eminem and Macklemore to Elvis Presley for “snatching” the black sound.
“I’d never go at Eminem,” he says. “It’s not even Iggy Azalea’s fault, she’s chasing her dream. It doesn’t matter the quality of her music but I have to comment, it’s my job to tell you what’s on my mind in the slickest way ever…When history is told Macklemore is in them books, Iggy Azalea’s in them books.”
There were rumors back in 2013 that Cole and Diddy had a scuffle at a MTV Video Music Awards party after Diddy allegedly tried to pour a drink on Kendrick over the “Control” verse and Cole intervened.
“It was just a quick disagreement that turned into something,” he said. “Never been a beef, never is a beef. … It was too quick to really be considered a fight.”

(AllHipHop News) Washington Wizards’ John Wall is headed to the 2015 NBA All-Star game. The 24-year-old former Kentucky player was voted in as a starter for the showcase, and one Hip Hop artist is being credited for helping him make the roster.
Young Money’s Nicki Minaj sent out a tweet to her 18 million followers last December that simply read, “John Wall #NBABallot.” The Queens rapper’s legions of fans (known as Barbz) retweeted their favorite performer’s message which under the All-Star balloting rules counted as votes for Wall. Presumably, some of Nicki’s followers also voted by way of other digital options at the behest of the Queen Barb.

“It’s pretty exciting to see her, at that level, to show some support and vote,” Wall told CSNWashington’s Ben Standig.
The basketball star and rap star only had one brief encounter in person. However, Minaj and Wall created a bond when the 6’4” guard campaigned to get a 6-year-old girl battling Burkitt’s lymphoma to meet Nicki. Thanks to Wall, Miyah Nelson was able to meet the “Super Bass” performer before she passed away late last year.
Wall showed social media love to Minaj in December as well. He shouted out her latest album The Pinkprint on Twitter after its release.
Nicki is killin it on this album #thePinkprint

Besides the alley-oop from Nicki, Wall’s play on the court has made him one of the 10 starters for the February 15 game in NYC. Wall leads the league with 10.2 assists per game. His Wizards team is currently in second place in the Eastern Conference behind the Atlanta Hawks.
(AllHipHop News) The name Star has become synonymous with controversial statements in Hip Hop circles. The outspoken radio personality has spent his career voicing his unabashed opinions on relevant subjects in the culture. In a 2014 interview recently uploaded to YouTube, the Shot 97 host provided his thoughts on the National Action Network’s Al Sharpton and Brooklyn emcee Talib Kweli.
“Rev. Al Sharpton is a great man. I can vouch for him personally,” stated Star with Forbz DVD. “I know him to be a credible human being… We’re talking about a man who is genuinely concerned.”
Star goes on to add that he does not agree with everything Sharpton has done in the past. His comments on Kweli. were not as positive though.
“We’ve got bullsh**t n***s out here like Talib Kweli who don’t vote. F**k just voting for the president, he doesn’t vote on the local level, he doesn’t vote by way of schools. He doesn’t vote. That’s some f**kery,” said Star. “Let’s not put him out there on the frontlines like he’s some f**king intellectual or conscious motherf**ker. He’s full of s**t.”
When asked about the infamous on-air argument between the “Get By” rapper and CNN reporter Don Lemon, Star responded he wished Lemon would have slapped Kweli and put his tongue down the entertainer’s throat.

(AllHipHop News) For two decades, producing legend Dr. Dre has helped build the careers of rap superstars. Snoop Dogg, Eminem, 50 Cent, The Game, and Kendrick Lamar have all been under the tutelage of the N.W.A member. Dre has now recruited another young rapper as the next potential breakout artist from his musical family tree – Justin Mohrle aka JT.
The 23-year-old Texan first connected with Dre through N.W.A. affiliate The D.O.C. Since then Mohrle has been putting in work at California’s Record One studio. D.O.C. spoke with Dmagzine about the work JT is doing with Dr. Dre.
“JT and I worked on a couple songs; Dre fell in love with the songs; Dre stole the songs from the kid, because he wanted to put them out as a unit,” The D.O.C. told the publication. “That’s the way this house is rolling. We’re all putting our energy toward building another classic for The Good Doctor. Then he’s going to take his time to help us build a classic for the youngster.”
While Mohrle was not able to discuss specific details of his current recordings, he has collaborated with BJ the Chicago Kid, King Mez, and No Doubt’s Gwen Stefani. JT does realize that being associated with one of Hip Hop’s most accomplished musical minds could change his life in an instant.
“With the situation I’m in, Dre could decide to drop a track tomorrow, and then I might not be able to ever go to the mall again like this. Just us. By myself,” expressed Mohrle to Dmag.
(AllHipHop News) The ongoing speculation on whether Floyd Mayweather Jr and Manny Pacquiao will finally face off in the ring has been a hot topic in recent weeks. The two boxers just raised those hopes even higher after they were seen speaking face-to-face during halftime at the Miami Heat game on Tuesday.

The impromptu meeting was supposedly happenstance. This was reportedly the first time Mayweather and Pacquiao have spoken in person.
“He gave his number to me and said we will communicate with each other,” said Pacquiao about the exchange.

(AllHipHop News) At the 2015 Sundance Film Festival, Wu-Tang Clan members Raekwon and Ghostface Killah announced they have a new collaborative project on the way. Instead of dropping a new musical effort, the pair will be releasing a documentary about the classic 1995 album Only Built 4 Cuban Linx.
Revolt caught up with Rae and Ghost to discuss the forthcoming The Purple Tape Files film. They revealed the doc is still in its early stages and a crowd funding campaign will help pay for the movie to be made.
“We’re still in work mode. The main thing was really to just let people know that it’s happening, get the buzz going. It was more like a respectful invasion of Sundance to be able to let them know not only are we coming, but we respect the filmmakers,” said Raekwon. “Filmmakers are artists too and the music side hasn’t fully connected with the film side. But when you really look at it, it’s the same s**t. Why do you think we say, ‘We’re making movies’?”
“It ain’t just a doc,” added Ghostface.

(AllHipHop News) The saying goes, “no good deed goes unpunished.” Migos may have learned that proverb the hard way when the Atlanta rap group decided to post a picture on Instagram.
The trio and their record label, Quality Control Music, donated $1000 to Booker T. Washington High School. After Migos uploaded the photo of the over-sized check given to the Atlanta school, IG users began bashing the rappers for being too cheap.
“Coach looking like [the f**k] we [gonna] do with this s**t? Buy everybody a 2 for 5 at Burger King?” wrote one commenter.
Another added, “Printing that check probably cost more than what you donated. Smh.”
“Are you n***as serious? That’s $333.33 each? Y’all supposed to have bands and racks,” posted another user. “You busted out that big ol’ Godzilla ass check for a G? Your shoes worth more than that.”
