The group, which celebrated 12 years together this year, debuted their latest single Ride earlier this week. According to group members, The Pursuit of Nappyness is their most honest work to date. “Ride [is] a sample of whats to come from The Pursuit of Nappyness, Skinny Deville told AllHipHop.com in a statement. The new album features a lot of natural elements like we did on Watermelon, Chicken & Grits. Its acoustic and has that live and organic instrumentation feel to it.” The official album was produced by J and DJ KO of Phivestarr Productions and will be released on June 11th via NREG /AVJ Records/ Fontana. Next month, The Nappy Roots will offer fans a mixtape with Atlantas DJ Greg Street, which will feature Ride and the track Fishbowl. The Nappy Roots are currently finalizing tour details in support of The Pursuit of Nappyness.
