Hip-Hop Rumors: Preview Nas' New Joint, Amy Wildhouse?, What Scared Dame Dash?

YESTERDAY’S RUMORS!

Hip-Hop Rumors: The KKK Planning To Kill Obama? BET's Rip The Runway Run Down!

AMY WILDHOUSE?

I suppose I am going to just enjoy Amy Winehouse’s music and stop caring too much if she gets better. The singer did went hog wild at a London hotel where she allegedly caused $6,000-worth of damage. The singer was staying at the ritzy Riverbank Plaza Hotel after bouncing from a rehab facility earlier in the month, but just created a mess and wouldn’t let anybody clean up! There were all sorts of liquor, cigarettes and trash all over the place when they did get in there, according to reports. They said that there was all types of matted hair and hair dye in a tub in the suit too. WOW.

DAME DASH SHOOK DADDY AT THE MOON?

Somebody told Page Six that the lunar eclipse got Dame Dash all scared and shook daddy when he viewed it the other day. Mind you, this IS Page Six so it's just based on gossip and what somebody said. Hey, it might be a Dame hater. Anyway, here is what an observer said, “He was getting paranoid. He started saying, 'That is freaking me out. I'm a little scared.' It was pretty funny.”

This is what they said Dame was scared of…I don’t believe it.

DJ KHALIL PREVIEWS NAS SONG “WHAT IT IS”

DJ Khalil has been known to create audio treats for the likes of The Game, Dr. Dre, Jim Jones and his own group Self Scientific. The West Coast beat maestro has created the first leaked track for Nas’ controversial album, N****r. The song isn’t new though. “What It Is” was quietly leaked last year with a different beat to little fanfare.

Then, Nas’ camp sent a mere acapella Khalil with much better results.

See below for an the new version of the song along with an eloquent description by DJ Khalil. Also, check out the earlier version that has since been overwritten.

Old Version of Nas’ “What It Is”

LARRY DAVIS’ DEATH STARTING RIOTS IN THE PENILE?

While we are all talking about Obama and all that, it is interesting to note that the jail that Larry Davis was murdered in, is very tense right now. Unfortunately, there were preexisting racial tensions in jail (as anybody knows) and the place is boiling right now. I heard that Davis’ family would be having a press conference soon to address matters. We shall see…to some Davis was a hero and to others a patsy and to others a cop-killer. If you read, you know what’s really good.

On top of it all, I heard producers from BET’s American Gangster show were all set to go visit Larry in jail for a show on his life. He was murdered the day before.

JAY-Z AND LINKIN PARK ROCK NY

A lot of people missed this because it was apparently the same day as BET’s Rip The Runway. Well, here it is, Jay-Z and Linkin Park at Madison Square Garden earlier this week.

ANOTHER CONSPIRACY AGAINST OBAMA?

I know people think that OH THEY ARE CRAZY to think that somebody is going to kill Obama. But read this report on how the Secret Service reportedly pulled metal detectors from a recent Obama rally. Mind you, this baffled the local police.

DALLAS -- Security details at Barack Obama's rally Wednesday stopped screening people for weapons at the front gates more than an hour before the Democratic presidential candidate took the stage at Reunion Arena.

Read the whole story here:

RANDOM QUOTES

Erykha Badu joking about Common (The Associated Press):

"It is true what they say about me and men - (I) make them wear crocheted pants and chin guards!"

Patti LaBelle stealing illseed’s quote in giving Vivica Fox:

"Baby when they stop talking about you, that's when you worry."

[illseed’s quote: They keep us talking, but if we stop talking about them then they should worry!]

Vivica Fox on her Hip-Hop History (Read the interview here):

“Hip-Hop has been really good to me, it really has. That goes back before 50 [Cent] - Biggie was one of the first rappers to put me in a song - "Watch me set it off like Vivica." People forget that I've been involved with Hip-Hop from Tupac, he was a very good friend of mine. I was in his video back in the day.” [I know you hate The Game, Viv!]

PAULA ABDUL’S NEW SONG

DEDICATION TO MC REN

Somebody told me that MC Ren was a footnote in history. I looked at the person with a particular look like, “What planet do you live on? I live on Planet Hip-Hop.” So I decided to give people this retrospective on MC Ren. Where the hell is Ren? If you know, get at me!

“Same Ol’ S**t”

“Ruthless 4 Life”

“Mayday On The Frontlines”

“The Mad Scientist”

I remember when this came out, Large Professor had a song of the same name. I had to ride with Ren.

“The Final Frontier”

So there you have it. MC Ren with no NWA, Dre, Cube or Eazy. He was one of the dopest of the time, but the mainstream never caught on. That doesn’t detract from his illness.

YESTERDAY, WE LOVE YOU!

They keep us talking, but if we stop talking about them then they should worry!

"In Europe, between the years 1300 and 1900, the Church repressed scientific discoveries like those of Copernicus and Galileo because they contradicted the Biblical view of the universe. So western intellectuals and scientists resolved to share with the world the truths revealed by their equations and experiments. As it became more verifiable, science came to be accepted; eventually, science acquired a certain authority over matters material.

The new era came to be known as the era of enlightenment. Science also gave birth to mechanisation, new instrumentation, medicines, the steam and petrol engine, and modern transport vehicles ranging from the automobile to the aeroplane, to the space shuttle. Science, it seems, has given us more to make us happier in the last 100 years than religion has in the past 2,000 years."

Larry Davis getting bodied is crazy for real. I remember when the boys were coming for him and he did what we and most cats wanted to do during that time and even now. he was a true "hood hero".They had shut Webster Ave down that day and night for real.American gangster should still tell his story, because few outside NY and over 25 even know about this man.I salute him and hope his family find justice for him. That's what he would have wanted.

Obama needs to hire the "Fruits of Islam" to protect him for real. Those cats hold shit DOWN! Real talk.Secret service don't have his best interest at heart. If cities have prejudiced police working across the US,why wouldn't they work in the Secret Service? It ain't hard to tell.....

The original version of that Nas track sounds better than Dj Khalil version...just my opinion.

I don't believe Dame was scared of the lunar eclipse. He was probably joking around and somebody took the whole situation out of context.

The line Biggie said "Watch me set it off like Vivica", was classic b cuz not only was she in the movie, she was actually the one to set it off.

R.I.P to Larry Davis an original O.G. He knew them cops were trying to kill him, cuz he had so much shit on them. Fuckin crooked ass cops.."fuck da police, (of course i'm talkin bout the crooked ones)

Science-- gives us technological improvement and better understanding of the world in a tangible manner

Religion--set the tone for morality, ethics, and civility

Overall tho, Religion does more harm though, in my opinion.

Obama is the man! What's good about him is he's going to make some lame black dudes step their game up. No more excuses on why you can't make it because your father wasn't there. No more saying life isn't fair when your not even trying. Only you can hold you back.

Obama is going to be great for America but he's going to be special for AFRICAN American Men!

nader needs to sit that ass down somewhere  and look at the last 8 years as his reason why. dumb dummy. i dont care what his supporters say.
February 24, 2008 7:08 PM ]

exactly-  here go amiri baraka on nader's previous run:
------------------------------------------------------

THE NADIR OF SOCIAL- DEMOCRATIC LIBERAL POSTURING
Weimar is recycling it's eerie presence , tightening around us today!  Ralph Nader's feverish personal "campaign for president" is useful in the  sense that in a general way, he raises some issues that , hopefully, like Bradley's gesture, moves the Gore wagon slightly to the Left. But for Nader to insist that his individualistic petty bourgeois  for a moral remaking of the Imperialist state is politically advanced as  the practical politics of our time place and condition,  is sad  and dangerous. Because, only the slowest among us can not see that if Nader takes his , in essence, politically solipsistic show all the way to the hoop, then he will quite simply help Bush get elected!

The politics of individual moral cant is the "protest" politics of the petty bourgeois "loyal opposition" crying out because they think Imperialism can be cleaned up enough (consumer advocacy) for them & some of we, to be INCLUDED.
First, Nader is not that much Left of Gore. His recent speeches, while trying to tighten up his "gap" vis a vis Blacks and oppressed nationalities, is still saccharin covered generality, in the main. Nader is a consumer advocate, at worst, quality control for imperialism's commodities.

NADER CAN ONLY BE ULTIMATELY USEFUL TO THE PEOPLE, IN A PRACTICAL POLITICAL SENSE, IF HE AGREES TO AGGRESSIVELY HELP CREATE A LEFT BLOC.. OF THE MAIN ANTI IMPERIALST ORGANIZATIONS AND INSTITUTIONS AND DEMAND CONCRETE CONCESSIONS FROM GORE!!----

Some of the main groups that should be in such a bloc would be Marxist-Leninist Organizations, including the CPUSA, Freedom Socialists, Committee of Correspondence, Social Democratic organizations like the DSA, SDA, , Puerto Rican Socialist Party (The Trots and Anarchists abhor the dirty
bourgeois electoral arena, that's one characteristic of their objective Opposition to Revolutionary Democratic Struggle, the only real precursor and path to Socialism!) Anti Imperialist Organizations ...both multi national and national in form;  e.g., Black Latino, Asian, Native  Peoples groups, Trade Unions, Black Radical Congress, Black United Front, RNA, NAACP, Pan Africanist, Professional and Academic Organizations, Cultural and Arts Groups, Media Groups, Nation of Islam and American Muslim Mission, Independent Publications and Presses. Consumer Coops, Agricultural Coops, Advocacy Groups, particularly around Welfare, Immigration, Police Brutality. Police Control Boards,
The Congressional and State Legislative Black and Latino Caucuses, ABC-LEO, Individual Politcal and Activist figures, and their organizations, e.g., Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, RAndall Robinson, Marable, Gates, West, Afro American, Latino Publishers Groups, Minority and Small Business Organizations, Church related groups,

The Black Radical Congress could put out a call for such a meeting.  This letter is a CALL  FROM UNITY AND STRUGGLE NEWSPAPER 808 S.10TH ST NEWARK
NEW JERSEY  973 242-1346  / 1509 FAX
The CPUSA with other  influential groups could put out such a call. The Greens SHOULD join with this effort IMMEDIATELY. The Nation of Islam , because of its call for a Million Family March in October, and Sharpton because of his Aug 26 National Action Group led march on DC , have the public visibility to cooperate importantly in such a call.

Such a meeting must produce A PEOPLE'S DEMOCRATIC PLATFORM, a multi-national mass document that could  forcefully project the key elements of an actual Anti Impeialist stance and demands on the Democratic party. More importantly, such unity would provide the material basis for a broad People's Democratic United Front as the basis for the Revolutionary Democratic Workers Party that could begin to do the concrete practical work of creating an mass revolutioanry democratic alternative political structure , that could actually win local elections and create the intense propaganda and agitation network to educate, mobilize and organize the many, to defeat the few.

Either Nader and the Greens abandon the isolated glamour of moral pontification as a Loyal Opposition to Imperialism or they risk the Weimar replay of helping elect the far Right, BUSH 2. I know the choice is between a Murderer (B-2) and a Prostitute (Gore rimes with W....) but folks, that is literally where we are. Being serenaded by the dismally ignorant chorus of Trot-Anarchists, one of who said, "I bet you voted for Clinton". To which we say, I bet you voted (by non-voting)  for Bush. (Note to All  , read The Casebook on Weimar, Univ of Calif, to see how close we are to Weimar 2!  Hitler came to power because of a split between Communists and Social Democrats!} Amiri Baraka

Everybody in here is fucking STUPID. You don't think my man Obama has his own security?? Race war? Shut the fuck up with that because nobody would know where to begin- there would be just a bunch of glorified stick up kids running around... There's been a race war in this country since money's been exchanging hands. And that Nas shit- yea, that Khalil beat is hot, but they're acting like the old one was garbage. ???  Please Illseed, no more public speaking from that guy. Sp-sp-sp-spit it out! With Ron Paul out of the race, let's get Obama in there. I tend to think about religion as harmful as well... But with more introspect, the prospect of a looming judge does keep many a people from doing evil. To all of you involved in that topic, I would enjoy to take it elsewhere... I'm a motherfucker for thought- provoking convo. Just let me know where....

Lloyd Banks said it: "Obama is gonna get knocked off if he wins"
50 Cent said it: "I don't think America is ready for a black President, I think they'd kill him if he won."

The secret service would NEVER let anyone just waltz into one of President Bush's speeches without being checked for a weapon... hell you'd get arrested if you got caught with a nail clipper.

Don't worry Obama, I think I speak for myself and everyone else when I say we all got your back even if the damn secret service don't.

Thanks for posting all them links of Nas, u know he's the second on my top five list. That joint with Alicia and rakim is the ish.
As for the religion vs science, science mos def made an impact and has something to proof in contrast of religion I'm not religious myself but learned all types about diff. religion. It makes me think their all biased. However I have my own faith and practice my daily chanting as well in terms of native American doctorine. So I been thinking about going to like a real church but I'm so undecided which religion I want to join, I got the missionary people who come by and drop phamphelts off and then theirs catholic which I find boring, from my interest Muslim sound very interesting and Hindu but I don't think I could ever convert to any of those. Any light on this?

Its funny you mentioned the Native American chanting also.  I was just reading about that.  They were talking about how it is therapeutic and all that.  How the chants help influence your whole body to perform as one towards a task.  hit me up daboah2003@yahoo.com
