Hip-Hop Rumors: Do The Black Hollywood Elite Oppose Django?

DOES BLACK HOLLYWOOD OPPOSE DJANGO UNCHAINED?

I’ve heard from a number of sources that the elite in Black Hollywood are not feeling “Django: Unchained,” the new movie that stars Jamie Foxx, Kerry Washington, and Leonardo DiCaprio. Well, I won’t say names, but a number of Black actors were approached to be in it, but refused. The one person that definitely didn’t agree with it was Will Smith. He flat out said no. There’s another one in Red Tails-actor Nate Parker, who is rumored to be dead set against “Django,” which is a product of Quentin Tarantino.  Then there are a bunch of others that are just not saying a lot.

This reminds me of the controversy around “Hustle & Flow.” Terrance Howard got a lot of props for that movie, but when he was going to perform “Its Hard Out Here For A Pimp” at the Oscars, the Black Hollywood Elite said, “You better not or ELSE!” And he didn’t. As history would tell it, Three Six Mafia did perform and they haven’t been the same since.

Django comes out on Christmas day and Foxx and Kerry are already nominated for Golden Globe Awards. Interesting. We’ll see how it goes.

Here is the Rick Ross song from the “Django” soundtrack. He’s eligible for an Oscar for this song! I think RZA is too.
