Ray J embarrassed himself over the weekend after claiming during a Twitch livestream that he had slept with Sexyy Red, a statement she quickly called out as a complete fabrication.
While under the influence, Ray J told viewers, “I slept with Sexy Red. Stop playing with me. You can clip that all you want to. Talk about I partied with Sexy Red. I slept with Sexy Red. Ask her. That’s on the dead homies. I slept with her.”
Sexyy Red, who was performing with Lil Baby in Atlanta at the time, wasted no time shutting it down.
She posted a screenshot of a text conversation with Ray J on Instagram and wrote, “CORNBALL AZX LYIN ON YA MEAT IS WIERD … PLAY IN YO A* NOT WIMME.”
Hours after the initial claim, Ray J returned to his stream to issue a public apology.
“I want to apologize to Sexyy Red because Sexyy Red is one of my favorite artists,” he said. “And Sexyy Red and I was on a plane and we were both flying somewhere. We randomly saw each other. She was sitting by me.”
He clarified that they each had separate seats, blankets and pillows and simply slept during the flight like any two strangers might on a long trip.
“I went out of control and I said that I slept with Sexyy Red. And that’s insensitive and it’s not okay. And it’s trolling at the highest level. And I want to say, Sexyy Red, my bad. It was childish. It was uncalled for. And you know, it wasn’t cool.”
That wasn’t enough for Sexyy Red, as she also posted messages confronting Ray J directly.
“Even to b sayin we ‘slept’ on the plane together I said hi and kept it pushin is you coo cuh?! So dis what you doin playing wit people name on da internet?” she wrote.
Ray J responded, “I said right after we slept on the plane together — you know I playin I’m always trolling and you know I love you — I’ll make it clear right now on my main page- sorry if you mad at me — I’ll make it right now.”
Sexyy Red replied, “Dats not coo.”
Even Justin Bieber chimed in, backing Red and calling out Ray J’s behavior. “This rubs me real wrong. Sexyy Red U The GOAT,” Bieber wrote in a message to her.
