EXCLUSIVE: CyHi The Prynce Talks “Black Hystori Project”, Gangstas on Instagram + More (VIDEO)

(AllHipHop News) CyHi The Prynce might be one of the few G.O.O.D. Music artists yet to release a debut album to retail, but according to him he’s still the best rapper alive. In PART ONE of our exclusive interview with CyHi The Prynce, the G.O.O.D. Music signee talks why he made Black Hystori Project, social media ganstas, why he is the best lyricist from the South and more.

According to CyHi, the inspiration for the project’s concept derived from his nephew being told he could not do his Black History project on Cyhi due to his lack of importance. Cyhi explains that Black Hystori Project is a byproduct of ensuring the relevancy of Black History in the school system and proving his old school wrong:

My nephew, last year, tried to do his Black History project on me at a school that I used to go to and they told him I wasn’t important enough. I’m the most important person from this area. What do you mean I’m not important? I took it among myself…okay cool, I’m going to make the Black History project myself. It’s a bunch of things around it. I understand they’re trying to take it out the school system so, I did something to keep it relevant.

Black Hystori Project is founded on astute observations of culture. All the observations were not didactic lessons on Black history as on “Napolean” he rapped “how you a gangsta but on Instagram, emoji-ing?” In a world where gangsta rappers are sending threats through computers, CyHi explains what this phenomena says about the rapper mystique:

That was just a situation where dudes were talking like they crazy and be on Instagram with emjois. N*gga the gangstas I know ain’t on Instagram… They don’t even like you saying “k”. You need to say O-K. [Laughs]. Different things like that, man. But, I really wanted to give people the…let them know that sometimes what you believe is so super street and super real is not.

Cyhi’s lack of commercial success is an afterthought when he describes his ranking in Hip Hop. The man who has rapped on songs with Jay Z, Pusha T, J. Cole, Big Sean, Kanye West and many others proudly asserts that not only has Kanye called him “one of the greatest lyricists that ever lived” but that he has never been outshined on a song. His confidence even leads him to claim that he is the best lyricist from the South out now:

Where I’m from, the best rappers are T.I., Cyhi, [Andre 3000]. You might throw Jeezy in that. A few people say a Luda or whatever. I feel like I’m the best, as far as rap, lyricist wise. Those guys might be realer street ni**as than me, or richer than me, or have badder b*ches or have doper cars. But if you throw us in a circle, turn a beat on, I think I’ll be the last one standing.

Witnesses In Jimmy Henchman Murder Trial Testify He Ordered Violent Acts Against G-Unit & Chris Lighty

(AllHipHop News) Three former associates of James “Jimmy Henchman” Rosemond testified against their former boss during his current murder trial. As witnesses for the prosecution, Khalil Abdullah, Brian McCleod, and Mohammed Stewart told the jury that Henchman ordered them to engage in violent acts against 50 Cent and his G-Unit crew.

Henchman and 50’s G-Unit had a long running feud that allegedly included family members being assaulted, gun shoot outs, and cars being burned. According to prosecutors the end result was a murder-for-hire plot orchestrated by Henchman that left G-Unit associate Lowell “Lodi Mack” Fletcher dead.

Abdullah claims that after violent incidents involving Rosemond, his son, and G-Unit’s Tony Yayo, he hired gunmen to shoot at Yayo’s Bentley. The former member of the Rosemond drug organization also testified Henchman admitted to hiring hitmen to kill Fletcher.

McCleod testified Henchman offered him $30,000 to ambush Fletcher. He also said Henchman wanted to kill Fletcher himself before being convinced to let someone else do it. McCleod stated he got Fletcher to go to the Bronx for the strike by promising money and women, then he and trigger man Derrick Grant received a kilo of cocaine as payment from Henchman.

Stewart’s testimony included admitting he shot at Chris Lighty’s Violator Records offices, slashing Lighty’s brother with a razor, shooting at G-Unit road manager Baja Walters’ Staten Island home, and stalking 50, Yayo, and Lighty hoping to kill them. He claims he did all these acts on Henchman’s behalf.

Rosemond’s lawer, Bruce J. Maffeo, pointed out that all three witnesses were testifying with the hopes of receiving reduced sentences for murder and drug convictions. Maffeo also expressed in court that Rosemond was in Miami at the time of Fletcher’s murder, and Henchman never specifically said he wanted him dead.

50 Cent Hints At Rick Ross, P. Diddy and Steve Stoute Being Gay

(AllHipHop News) 50 Cent once filmed DJ Khaled’s mother at her place of work during his feud with Rick Ross, so this man has no limits to his inflammatory tactics. Earlier today 50 stiched a photo of Rick Ross and Diddy in a suggestive position and another of Stoute with his arm around Diddy. 50 Cent quickly deleted the photo for an unknown reason:

Kanye West’s DONDA Partners With Jay Z’s Roc Nation

(AllHipHop News) Kanye West and his “big brother” just got a bit closer.  Earlier today (March 3rd), it was announced that Kanye West’s creative house DONDA has signed with Roc Nation.

Announced on Roc Nation’s official website, the partnership is set to “focus on Mr. West’s international recording brand and worldwide touring ventures.” The announcement also says it will manage all “DONDA music”, yet there are no artists signed under DONDA as of yet.

While DONDA does not have any signed artists, the creative brand has been behind almost every facet of Kanye West’s touring and marketing campaigns. Since its official branding in 2011, DONDA designed the Watch The Throne tour, Kanye West’s “New Slaves” projections and the album packaging of artists such as 2 Chainz, Lil Wayne and others.

This signing comes a week after reports surfaced that West’s Yeezus tour had to reduce ticket prices due to diminishing ticket sales. West’s Yeezus tour kicks off its Australian run on May 2nd in Perth.

Pharrell Performs “Happy” at Oscar’s + Sells Grammy Hat To Arby’s For Over $44,000 (VIDEO)

(AllHipHop News) Pharrell did not take home the Oscar for Best Original Song, however his presence (and hat) was felt. Last night (March 2nd), Pharrell performed the #1 song in the country, “Happy” and finally sold his infamous Grammy’s hat on eBay to a well known buyer.

During the live telecast, Pharrell tweeted from his personal Twitter account that his Vivienne Westwood hat that he wore to this year’s Grammy awards had been purchased on eBay. Today (March 3rd), a tweet from the official Twitter for Arby’s claimed the sandwich shop were the ones who purchased the hat:

The $44,100 of proceeds will go to Pharrell’s charity From One Hand To Another which provides learning programs to “underserved youth” from ages 7 to 20 according to the charity’s official website.

Besides raising over $44,000 for charity by wearing a hat, Pharrell got the usually stoic Oscar crowd to liven up during his performance of “Happy”. With American Hustle‘s Amy Adams,. Meryl Streep and Best Supporting Actress winner Lupita Nyong’o dancing with the 40 years old musical genius, Pharrell’s “Happy” performance was the highlight of the night.
