Hip-Hop Rumors: Why Was Jay Z Consoling Beyonce?

First of all, was Jay Z consoling Beyonce? Its seemed like Jay was needed to help Beyonce get through that windfall of their performance at the Grammys. Not sure, but the energy seemed off for the performance and the aftermath. After their performance, there are pics of Jay holding B. Some people are thinking that a barely visible nip slip may be the source of sadness. Honestly, nobody even saw it, but it was there. So….Hmmmm….the internet was pretty mean to the beautiful Beyonce, but nobody’s safe. This we know.

The hate in some peoples’ heart is unfathomable!

Kendrick Lamar's Performance Was Most Talked About Grammy Moment On Twitter

(AllHipHop News) Kendrick Lamar might have tied India Arie in 2002 with seven Grammy nominations without a single win one night, but he was the people’s choice.

According to information released from Twitter, Kendrick Lamar’s performance with Imagine Dragon at the 56th annual Grammy Awards was the most tweeted moment of the event. The performance garnered 171,593 tweets per minute. Over 15.2 million tweets were sent out during the east coast telecast of the Grammy’s.

Beyonce was the second most mentioned artist on Twitter during the Grammy’s behind Lorde, which makes her the most mentioned artist on Twitter to not win a Grammy last night.

This year’s Grammy’s telecast reportedly attracted 28.5 million viewer, the second highest ratings for the Grammy’s in over a decade. However, the 28.5 million viewers is less than a1 1% increase over the 28.4 million viewers from last year’s telecast.

This doesn’t mean they’re not having problems, as every couple goes through it sometimes, but chill out on the wild speculations.

BULLS**T! Kendrick Lamar And The Greats That Never Won A Grammy

Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince, Salt-N-Pepa, Public Enemy, Kid-N-Play, Slick Rick et al. at the 1988 Grammy Boycott.

“Who gives a f**k about a gotdamn Grammy? Who gives a f**k about what they like?” – Public Enemy

Kendrick Lamar got screwed: simple and plain.

Nobody should be shocked, because the Grammy game as always been a tricky beast when it comes to Hip-Hop. Way back in 1988 (a seminal year for Hip-Hop), Hip-Hop heads like Will Smith, Salt N Pepa and Public Enemy publicly boycotted the award show because they didn’t televise the Hip-Hop portion. Rappers don’t have such solidarity in 2014, but Jay Z did voice his discontent in other ways. Nevertheless, if Kendrick is feeling a way about not winning any of the Grammys he was nominated for, he should rest assured that he’s in the company of true Greats. Below is a list of some of the big names and talented artists that never took home what Jay Z called a “zippy cup” to their home.

Tupac Shakur
Bob Marley
Snoop Dogg
Jimi Hendrix
Diana Ross
Nas
Chuck Berry (The creator of Rock-N-Roll music)
Notorious B.I.G.
Run DMC
Public Enemy
DMX
NWA
Ice Cube
Drake
Bjork
Busta Rhymes
The Who
Journey
The Doors
Led Zepplin
Depeche Mode
Guns N’ Roses
Kiss
Morrissey
Katy Perry
Cat Stevens
Florence + the Machine
Stevie Nicks
Martina McBride

And there are more…but this is a sample of many.

You should have.”  Mack uploaded a screen shot of the message to his Instagram page.

Earlier in the day, the Seattle performer also uploaded a text he received from Kendrick where the Black Hippy member acknowledges Macklemore’s hard work.

Macklemore won four awards during the night including nearly sweeping the rap categories with wins for Best Rap Album, Best Rap Song, and Best Rap Performance. He also picked up the trophy for Best New Artist. Kendrick Lamar was nominated in all four categories as well.
