(AllHipHop News) As Yelawolf prepares for his 55-date “Slumerican Tour,” set to kick off in September, the Alabama signee to Shady/Interscope is also prepping for the second season of his new line of clothing, called Country Fresh.
The “Famous Stars and Straps” signature line is a collaborative vision by both Yelawolf and Travis Barker that features T-shirts incorporating the Slumerican lifestyle.
T-shirt designs during the first season included a deer hunter patterned shirt, as well as a trucker T-shirt that says “Let’s Roll”, an ode to his hit song featuring Kid Rock.
“The Famous Family, you know, I got the Country Fresh line out, and [Travis Barker] gave me my own signature line. The first season went over good, and we are heading over to the fall season for another release. I got a shoe coming out on Famous that I designed as well,” Yelawolf explained in a recent interview with AllHiphop.com.
The shoe line features Native American inspiration that caters to Yelawolf’s preferences and Native American heritage.
Added Yelawolf about the design detail, “It may have the buck on the soul, and it’s a shoe that I designed myself. It’s like this sneaker, half sneaker, half Native American moccasin that I put together myself. The fringe to the moccasin is removable, and you can take that off. It’s a mid-top; the color-ways are crazy. I’m excited about that sh*t.”
Check out the 7:55 minute mark for Yelawolf’s comments on his new shoes and Country Fresh clothing line.
(AllHipHop News Feature) Hip-Hop has always been structured by mob rule and in these days, it’s no different. Every aspiring rapper today seems to get an idea, grab their homies, and go all out for a genre they love. Enter the Bakers Club: a collective of talented young Hip-Hop MCs and producers hungry to be the genre’s next trendsetters.
What makes Bakers Club different from most other groups is difference. No two members are alike – all organically growing together through five different cities across two countries.
Group founder, producer, and leader, Raz Fresco, founded The Bakers Club when he was only 15 years old and has proven he’s way older than his age reveals.
Now at 17, Fresco has already produced for some of Hip-Hop’s hottest artists including Mac Miller, French Montana, Tyga, Big Sean, B.o.B., and Wale. But he puts his Club above all.
“A lot of rappers have that signature-type thing they do. I don’t like to box myself into sh*t like that,” Raz says. “My music grows with me.”
Baker’s Club began through mutual friends in Raz’s hometown of Toronto, Ontario. Ever since, The Club has grown to eight members, four from Canada, and four from the U.S. Each member has his or her own unique sound, making it a surprise, as they are able to gel.
“My vision for the Bakers Club was just like it’s not necessarily like ‘this is The Bakers Club’ because every group has their own-type sound,” Raz explains. “Like the Wu-Tang had that Wu sound, Dipset had that Dipset sound. The thing I like about Baker’s Club is, it’s like a whole circle where everyone doesn’t sound the same.”
Now composed of members Raz Fresco, ChillxWill, P. Blackk, The 6th Letter, Dime Don, Lo Thraxx, Brandon Chey, and BriskInTheHouse, The Bakers Club is in full circle. During the group’s formation, Fresco’s age was almost as big a shocker as his musical talent.
“The whole time I was like dude young as f*ck, even though I was working with him at the same time,” Little Rock, Arkansas native Lo Thraxx says. “But I knew he was serious.”
“We started talking more and more and got in contact with each other, and more conversation, and then he told me how old he was, and I was like, ‘Oh damn, that’s crazy,’” Columbus, Ohio native P. Blackk explains about their first collaboration. “And then he told me he made the beat, and I was like, ‘What!’”
Being from different areas in North America, a group powwow isn’t always easy. Bakers Club has never been in the same room together as a full collective, but their constant cross-continent communication shows they are one.
During a meeting last December in which five members gathered in Toronto, distance proved to be no obstacle.
“It was ill, because we all gelled like we stayed down the block the whole time from each other,” Tacoma, Washington native ChillxWill says. “We naturally have our own different sound, because we’re not all from the same place.”
With each member receiving individual recognition for their solo efforts, as well as group attention, being a member has its perks.
“It’s not necessarily a general sound or message, it’s just like a whole bunch of different messages from a bunch of dope individuals, and it’s presented to you in that Baker’s Club package,” Raz says. “At the end of the day, it’s about good music and dope artists.”
Each every member of the group, except newest edition, Dime Don, has already released numerous projects. With new mixtapes to come from every member, much more Bakers Club is on the way. Raz Fresco will be working with members on their newest releases and is planning on another solo drop once he finishes his collaborative effort with ChillxWill.
With every new crew in Hip-Hop either trying to bring a certain style back or creating a new swagger, Bakers Club does both.
“We’re not really bringing back something that’s missing, but the type of vibe and energy we got is lacking in Hip-Hop,” ChillxWill says. “Not to sound cliché, but it’s something that can be used in the game now.
“I feel like with The Club, it restores a lot of that missing vibe. I feel like there’s a gap in music and we can fill that.”

Common and Kanye West first collaborated on Common’s 2005 album, Be. The album was critically acclaimed and was touted as Common’s “comeback album” after the disastrous Electric Circus. Could these two be working on another collaborative album right now?
In a recent interview with Complex Magazine, Common spoke about the possibility of teaming up with Kanye West again for a full album. Check out what he said below:
“Yes. You know, when the time is right, I would love to get together [with Kanye] on some more music. It would be an act of passion, it would be a creative project. It would be fun instead of, “I ain’t gotta do it, he ain’t gotta do it.” It’s not like we had to do it then or when we first did it, but it’d be a fun thing for us to do,” he said. “No matter where you go, you get reminded and you’re like, ‘I got into this because I love making music, I love Hip Hop, and I love being creative.’ Being able to work together with Kanye would be one of those experiences for me. How with No I.D. I had an experience like, ‘This is what I do. This is Hip Hop.'”
Nice! Common also revealed that he was originally supposed to be on “Mercy” but didn’t hand his verse in in time.
“To be honest, I’ve been in the studio and I was doing some recording, but it was mostly me, Big Sean, Cyhi, Pusha, and Teyana in there. For me, it was fun to just be able to rock with them and cats is smoking, cats is doing what they do, having fun more than anything. Just figuring it out. I can remember Big Sean being like, ‘You should get on this’ talking about ‘Mercy.’ I wanted to get on that. I wish I would’ve gotten on it,” he said. “I was working, doing something. Eventually the record, it got done quicker than I could get my verse out. They put it out and it was banging.”
How crazy would a Common and Yeezy album be right now? You can read the full interview with Common here.
Sidenote: Common recently commented on Kanye West’s and Kim Kardashian’s relationship saying that the two were “a good match.” Check out what he told Wet Paint below:
“Oh man, they are great — they are a great match,” Their love, of course. “Love is the biggest key to a good match,” he said. “I think they have that.”

(AllHipHopNews) Rapper, producer, and entrepreneur Dr. Dre is officially in business with FX, and is developing a brand-new drama with the network, according to THR.
The site reports that “[FX] has inked a script development deal with writer Sidney Quashi and music mogul Dr. Dre for a drama pilot. The one-hour project, set in present-day Los Angeles, explores both the music business and crime business.”
Quashie will serve as the creator of the show, as well as one its executive producers, alongside Dr. Dre.
The deal will involve Dr. Dre’s Crucial Films/Crucial TV company, which was originally launched in 2007 with New Line Cinema, and now currently rests under Warner Bros.
Currently, FX is airing new seasons of the critically acclaimed show, “Wilfred and Louie”, while the network’s highly anticipated fifth season of its biker show, “Sons of Anarchy”, will premiere on September 11.
More details about Dr. Dre’s involvement and the show itself are expected in the near future.
Every crew needs a first lady, right? Rumor has it that Rick Ross may be signing an already-established female rapper to his MMG super label. The femcee is none other than Miami’s self-proclaimed “baddest b*tch,” Trina! The rapstress was recently released from her Slip and Slide label home and is currently independent.
This rumor gained some steam late last year when Trina revealed in an interview with RapFix, that Ross was the “leader” of her upcoming album. Nothing materialized from that, but in a recent interview with The Breakfast Club, Ross threw gas on the fire again. Check out what he said below:
“She (Trina) was in the studio with us two weeks ago, I just want to see her kepp doing her thing. I’m a fan of hers and it’s a huge possibility.”
“We spoke about it, but right now I have to focus, on my team.”
Ross did say it was a possibility right? We’ll just have to wait and see.
According to Kendrick Lamar, his mentors, Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg, have dubbed him the new “King of the West Coast.”
Really?! Has Kendrick Lamar impressed that much that he is now heir to the West Coast throne? Hmmm. Check out what Kendrick recently said about the impressive title on BETs “106 & Park.”
“I know I’m ready. I know it’s a lot of responsibility, but at the same time, I put that pressure on myself.” “The first time I picked up that pen, I knew I got a legacy to carry on. My forefathers in front of me—Snoop, Dre, Game.”
Kendrick’s debut album, good kid m.A.A.d city, isn’t due out until October 2, and he admits that he still has alt more grinding to do before he can accept that title.
“I’m so honored and privileged, but at the same time, I know that them words can only go as far as I let them,” he continued. “I gotta put that grind and that work ethic in.
So will Dre, Game, or Snoop Lion be on his debut?
“I’m selfish on this album. It’s all me,” said Lamar.
Check out Kendrick Lamar’s second single, “Swimming Pools (Drank)”, below:
You can catch him on tour next month with the BET Music Matters tour.
“My system is understandable. I make this sh*t up as I go along, so everyday I’m almost rewriting the playbook.” – Curren$y
In the final part of AllHipHop.com’s extensive interview with Jet Life Recordings C.E.O. Curren$y, the New Orleans native looks back on the his debut album for Warner Bros. Music, The Stoned Immaculate, and the response he’s received from the fans and label since its release in early June.
Curren$y theorizes on his ability to decipher which of his music will make an album versus what ends up on a mixtape, and how exactly his recent Cigarette Boats EP with Harry Fraud came together.
As for if he ever fears that he’s over-saturating the market with his constant and consistent releases, Spitta emphatically says “no,” and he compares his releases to that of one of his favorite rappers – Max B.
Moments later, Curren$y makes an analogy using a weed man who gives you more weed when you already have some left over from last time. Would you really say no?
So, by now you’ve all heard what is allegedly the first single from the Aaliyah posthumous album. If not, you can check it out below:
The single, called “Enough Said,” was produced by Drake’s producer, Noah “40” Shebib, who is also said to have leaked the record. The project is being helmed by Drake and 40, and has allegedly received the blessing from Aaliyah’s estate.
Unfortunately for Drake, many hardcore Aaliyha fans believe that Timbaland and Missy should be helming the project, not him. Check out some of the backlash the record is receiving on Twitter:
Wow, that last tweet was pretty funny, and probably true! So, how do Timbaland and Missy feel about Drake producing the project? Check out what Timbo recently told Power 105.1 below:
Timbaland
“I know they trying to drop some Aaliyah records, but if he do it, it should be with me and Missy. The proper way for him to do that would be for me, him and Missy to be all on the record. But to put it on his record, would just not be right.”
It looks like Drake is going full steam ahead with the project, without the help of Timbaland or Missy. What do you think about that?
Sidenote, Drizzy recently inked another tattoo dedicated to the late singer Aaliyah. Check out the tattoo below, which is of the number 416, Toronto’s area code, as well as 116, which is Aaliyah’s birthday.
In related news, this may come as a surprise, but YMCMB artist Drake has not finished high school. The rapper recently revealed to Toronto Now, that he plans to go back to school to earn his diploma. Check out what he said below:
“I’m actually spending my summer graduating high school. That’s my main focus after OVO Fest. I only have one credit left, and I’m really excited about that.”
