Yelawolf Shocked At Eminem Comparisons

Few are surprised that the Internet’s latest sensation MC and skateboarder Yelawolf is drawing comparisons to rap legend Eminem. But after recently wowing crowds at this year’s South By Southwest, the Los Angeles Times joined numerous fans in declaring the Huntsville, Alabama, native “the best White rapper since Eminem.”

Unfortunately, Yelawolf, 27, doesn’t read the LA Times—or anything about himself, for that matter.

“I don’t go online. I would prefer not to hear people’s opinions, good or bad,” Yelawolf told VIBE. “It just helps me [stay] where I’m supposed to be as an artist.”

Yela—who worked as a deep sea fisherman in Seattle before his music took off—missed much of the hoopla over his South By Southwest sets, which included a Fader stage, and a Nahright stage. He also claimed to have miss the Eminem comparison. “I haven’t heard that. Oh, that’s great, man!” he said. “I swear on everything on my life, that’s the first time I’ve ever heard that. But that’s awesome, man. Eminem is a f**king robot. He’s the greatest recording artist I’ve ever heard, period. When it comes to rapping words, it’s like he’s a robot. Eminem, Busta Rhymes, Mystikal, Twista, Pharoahe Monch…these guys got this robot-precision, and Em’s got that. He’s just phenomenal. So for anybody to say that, it’s just the highest compliment and I appreciate it.”

While Yela hasn’t met Em yet, he assures, “If I’m ever in the same room with him, I definitely would holla at him. I’m sure in the near future we’ll cross paths.”

Besides working on a follow-up to his mixtape, Trunk Muzik, Yelawolf is currently on a 20-date tour with Wiz Khalifa. For more go to Vibe.com.

SEE SOMETHING? SAY SOMETHING!!!!!

THE DAILY TWO SENSE

I have gotten a few people that have expressed concern about the “Signs The World Is Coming To An End” section of the rumors. Not A LOT of people…really only a few. Here s why I do it. I do it because we need to be aware of what is going on in AMERICA and beyond America. We need to know what is REALLY going on in the world we live in. It ain’t pretty, but putting on blinders isn’t the way. So, if you want to keep the blinders on, I encourage you to skip that section when you see it. Lastly, ever since I assumed this rumor section – which was never what I was supposed be doing in the first place – I vowed to do more than JUST RUMORS. So, there you have it.

SIGNS THE WORLD IS COMING TO AND END!

I guess I won’t talk about North Korea.

CASSIDY BREAKS DOWN THE AIDS RUMOR!

SXSW: The Recap Of A Battle Torn Team

Let us get this clear. We know this recap is late, but there are some things that must be established. The AllHipHop Team that went to SXSW was there for hard work and some fun. All things considered, we left physically spent, but mentally exhilarated. We saw the underground, we saw best sellers, we saw the future of Hip-Hop and then some. We didn’t see it all though, because its just about impossible to “see” it all.  There is just too much going on. To be honest, it took some time to fully recover from SXSW,  but here we are. Late, but present.

– Chuck “Jigsaw” Creekmur

This recap was based on the first hand experiences of Chuck “Jigsaw” Creekmur, Grouchy Greg Watkins, Jake Crates, Diane “Shabazz” Varnie, and Sigmund’s Dope.

WEDNESDAY MARCH 17, 2010 – DAY 1 – OGPR & ALLHIPHOP present: Paul Wall & Chamillionaire Reunion Show – “The Best in Texas” Show

JIGSAW: I was definitely excited to be a part of this – the kick off day of SXSW. I personally interviewed Paul & Cham to get their point of view about the reunion. The show was so ill, but I couldn’t get a good spot in the midst of chaos. Definitely had some great, behind the scenes conversations.GROUCHY GREG: Landed in one piece, got to my hotel room and relaxed for about an hour. Then me and Jigsaw headed out to the Best in Texas show. When we arrived, we were greeted with a packed venue and a full backstage area. I went out to the crowd and peeped some great performances. Trae the Truth’s crew took over the entire stage. It was magic being lucky enough to stand on the stage and watch Paul Wall and Chamillionaire reunite and perform. Afterwards, we went to their tour bus and kicked it for about an hour. It was great conversation and Paul and Cham are some cool dudes.

JAKE CRATES: We arrived at the hotel and realized that the official SXSW bracelets are essential to getting into any event during SXSW so we scramble to call Matt (Director of all the Hip-Hop events) to find out if we can get some bracelets but the registration area is closed.  Nas and Damian Marley are putting on a show at this point, which I heard about ALLLLL week. Upset I missed that because I heard they had a live band and Nas killed it!

That night we went to the Best in Texas showcase which featured Fat Pimp, Dorrough, Chalie Boy, Trae the Truth, Troublesum, Paul Wall and Chamillionaire and many others.  Mike 5000 Watts was in the building too, it was truly a classic moment in Texas hip hop history.

The highlight of the show was definitely Paul Wall and Chamillionaire getting back together to do a show.  The show was off the chain.  They performed each of their classics and even gave the crowd a little bit of what they have coming up.  The duo is officially back together and on tour and they are going to be putting out tons of product over the next year.  Definitely look forward to a possible collaborative album if they can work out some of the details with respect to their labels.

THURSDAY MARCH 18, 2010 – DAY 2 – Digiwaxx Event, Klub Krucial

JAKE CRATES: Thursday was just as good as Day 1 (if that is even possible).  By this point we got our bracelets and we were planning on hitting every venue we could, but it seemed like SXSW tried to schedule the most hyped events at the same time so that they spaced out the crowds as much as possible.  It’s kind of cool because that way everyone’s music got heard, and it worked out because most artists performed at several different events throughout the week.

The Digiwaxx event on Thursday was slammin’.  Mickey Factz, Esso, Shannell, and Fashawn definitely put on good shows and Alchemist and Oh No were the building to put on a performance towards the end.  I can definitely say that the Mickey Factz performance was my favorite.  He had mad energy, had no hypeman, his beats were completely different than most artists and you could tell he puts 100% of his energy into the shows! When the show was closing out, we saw Rhymefest, and he kicked AllHipHop an exclusive freestyle for the ages.  Steve Raze and I were definitely lucky to witness that live!  That’s just a sign of how the whole week was; seems like Hip-Hop royalty were just popping up out of nowhere and there was more content than anyone could have imagined prior to the shows.

JIGSAW: I was a bit upset that I missed Shannell, but I got a flick. She was really cool, especially for somebody down with Lil’ Wayne. I was also very impressed, by Mickey Factz. GROUCHY GREG: I have to give props to CL from Digiwaxx. Both of his events were smooth and run very professional. The DJ’s kept the party rocking and there was even some B-Boying’ going on in the crowd at one point. Mickey Factz’s performance was impressive. The Alchemist came on stage and ripped it. Not only is he a legendary producer, but the cat can spit and hold his own on stage as well. At one point during the week, we ran into each other and he had two arms full of records. He let me go through them. Pretty tight right.

JAKE CRATES: At night we hit Klub Krucial at the HiphopDX event, which featured Pill, The Jacka, Mistah FAB, The Pack, Cool Nuts, Killa Mike, and Freeway and YelaWolf also made appearances; definitely a classic show of up and coming artists that will be making a bunch of noise in 2010 and 2011.  MistaH FAB shut it down for all the Bay Area fans that came out and even gave a shout out to AllHipHop.com in an exclusive freestyle for the crowd at the end of the show.  Pill and Jacka were definitely also stand out performances at this show.  Pill controlled the crowd and Jacka had mad support from Mistah FAB as he was right next to me for the performance rapping just about every lyric.

JIGSAW: If you think Hyphy is dead, you are wrong. I haven’t seen that level of Hyphy in years. I thought one dread was going to literally lose is head.

FRIDAY MARCH 19, 2010: DAY 3GROUCHY GREG: It’s getting hard to recollect everything that we did, because we really did a lot. I know we ended up at the Digiwaxx again, because we hosted it, LOL. As soon as I arrived, I was ushered up to the VIP area, but not before I stopped and grabbed an ice cold Grand Marnier on the rocks. When I got the VIP area, I was pleasantly surprised to see Estelle sitting there. I sat down and struck up a gentlemanly conversation and ended up taking a nice picture with her. Then I introduced Estelle to the hungry crowd and she delivered. I admit, I was a little envious of the dudes she pulled up on stage to dance. Then again, I only know two dances: the two step and the grind. JAKE CRATES: Tired at this point from staying out ‘til 5 AM the previous two nights we ended up staying at the hotel ‘til later in the day and caught the Digiwaxx performance with Estelle, Strong Arm Steady and Talib Kweli. AllHipHop.com’s Steve Raze, Jigsaw and Grouchy Greg hosted the show and introduced all the acts once we got there.  Talib’s performance was accompanied by a strong odor of good green and positive vibes.  He performed all the classics the crowd would want to hear and performed as long as he could saying to the crowd that the venue wanted to shut him down but that he was going to keep rocking.

Duck DOWN!

SIGMUND’S DOPE: Like, Oh-M-Gee. Is that the right term to be use when it comes to encountering the essence of Duckdown? It was a sad feeling for those who couldn’t make it through the fenced gates of the Scoot Inn because on the other side was a world of true hip-hop heads of every color, nation, gender and creed. After making the 12-block trekk with a random British dude and a drugged-out Schwinn rider, the overflow of musical enchantment was to be grasped for anyone who understood the plight of one of the most recognized independent hip-hop labels in the world. DJ Evil Dee was the HDIC (Head DJ In Charge for all those slacking in your language) and had the scene rocking as soon as doors opened, which in 5 minutes, was flooded with people nearly filling the venue. On top of tremendous performances from Torae, Skyzoo, and Kidz in the Hall, the root of Duckdown was heard in the raps of Sean Price with the now infamous “F— Rap” shirt along with tunes from Smif N Wessun, members of the Boot Camp Klik and Buckshot. Having newly signed Pharaohe Monch drop “Simon Says” on that stage was supremely epiphenomena…like, literally feeling the ground shake. It was probably souls dropping because of how epic this event was. Nobody outside of this realm of listening understands how epic this anniversary showcase was…hmmm…wondering how many INSIDE this realm of listening understands how epic this showcase was….GROUCHY GREG: The Duck Down show case was really tight. We go a long ways back with Dru Ha, Buck and the other guys. Whenever we meet up, I probably tell the same stories about Wisconsin in 2000. LOL. Anyway, I got in and went up to the stage and built with Dru Ha. As I was standing there, Kidz in the Hall just busted on stage and started rocking it. I hadn’t seem them perform in awhile, so it was great to hear them rocking. At this point, I got off stage and went to the back area to “get some fresh air.” I ran into Freeway and said what’s up. Dapped up Sean P and congratulated him on his new baby. I went around looking for my man Dice Raw, but it was pretty crowded. I went back to the stage and Sean P. was killing it. He’s such an ill lyricist and should not be slept on. Duck Down has a wicked roster of Hip-Hop acts and it was really great to see how many people showed up to support them. They are shining examples of independence. You already know what Smif-N-Wessun and Buckshot did to the crowd. Destroyed it.

JIGSAW: Now this is where I broke from the group. I heard Raphael Saadiq was playing and I had to be there to see the living legend play. I got there, with Jake and Steve in tow, and was supremely impressed by R.S.’s stage generalship. He’s a pro. I didn’t know it at the time, but Smokey Robinson was up next and he made it rain. On Twitter, I told people that everybody need to see this man live. He proved age ain’t nothing but a number! After that I went  to see some random rock acts, because Steve and Jake bounced for the Duck Down event. Never seeing these two legends live forbid me from leaving. Murs was there too and he remained for the duration of the show as well.

 Mr. Saadiq:

“More cowbell!” – One of the random rock acts Jigsaw saw.

 Quality! Showcase

DIANE “SHABAZZ” VARNIE: Presented by a connection of blogs including Blind I, IllRoots, DCtoBC, The Great Progression and Leaders, Quality! was one of the greatest to showcase multi-genre, upcoming artists. Hosted by Chicago frontman Hustle Simmons, the showcased artists ranged from all different cities around the states, including Detroit, D.C. and of course, Chicago. One of the artists to stand out to me who I wasn’t hip to upon entering the show was this cat named Mic Terror. Though the crowd was dry to majority of the artists who they didn’t know, Mic Terror surely made an impact with his cool moves while he “banged” and performed “Juke Them Hoes.” The only thing wrong with this showcase was the attention span of the audience. I found myself the only one close to the edge of stage when unknown artists were performing. A lot of people drifted away but found their way back to the stage when a familiar act took the stage… ie Tanya Morgan’s Don Will and Von Pea. Other artists noted to be apart of this showcase included Tabi Bonney, Bosco, Ro Spit and Raheem DeVaughn’s artist, Phil Ade. You also saw familiar faces around the spot that included Black Milk and U-N-I.

We Put the “A” in Austin Showcase

SIGMUND’S DOPE: Let’s put it like this. Atlanta will be forever loved for busting through the doors of the music scene and being the trend-setters on setting up shop in the industry, F.I.L.A., whatever. Leave it to hard-hitting entreprenuers like Fadia Kader, SMKA, Esperanza, Mindzai and The Stadium to bring what the typical stream of media doesn’t show about the musicianship coming out of Atlanta. Held at Lightbar smack in the middle of downtown, We Put the “A” in Austin had every element of sound possible ranging making it only definable by the city that the artist were representing. Artists included entities such as Pill, who is currently wallowing in ranking as one of XXL’s top ten freshman class artists; Yelawolf- the light-skinned white guy that takes southern hospitality to the streets on a skateboard; Bosco- a new-type eperiemental soul hip singer who is better understood after one captures her indescribable sound; and the list really goes on. Donnis, Hollyweerd and Stat Quo were also highlighted during this showcase with many others who came strapped with lowercase “A’s”. Haha, lowercase a’s…underline them though. These artists are on…and on deck.

 The Smoker’s Club

DIANE “SHABAZZ” VARNIE: As reggae artist Sizzla said: “Smoke the marijuana and get highhhh!” Presented by Cinematic Music Group, 2DopeBoyz, Creative Control, GYCNewYork, Play Cloths and UpNorthTrips, The Smoker’s Club is where all of SXSW went if they wanted to indulge in herbal essence while listening to some of the best upcoming hip-hop acts. Though I mention the best upcoming hip-hop acts, I shall highlight the fact that The Smoker’s Club was the only SXSW show to have Devin The Dude apart of it- and yes it was “highly” amazing. Passing blunts all throughout the crowd, Devin The Dude laid down the classics, giving the crowd nothing less than a true smoker’s lounge. The compact space of the club made the performance intimate- it also made it hard for one to not catch contact from the marijuana smoke. Also complimenting the herbal indulgence was other acts such as Pac D##, Jay Rock, Smoke DZA, U-N-I, Theo Martins and Curren$y- whom fellow stoner sidekick Wiz Khalifa was right behind him rolling up a nice size doobie. Surely a showcase to go down in the books of SXSW history in my opinion.

Devin The Dude lights it up at SXSW

 The House Fire

DIANE “SHABAZZ” VARNIE: Just as The Smoker’s Club aired out, it was time for round two. Using the same venue, Last Rights clothing company in conjunction with LAx Paperboys and The JBC, lit more fire with their The House Fire showcase. Though this was a three day event, the Friday showcase surely stood out the most. If you wanted to check out majority of XXL’s “2010 Freshmen Class” while smoking all the weed you can get your hands on, this showcase was for you. Blessing the stage with rhymes through the weed smoke was Dom Kennedy (who had the whole the crowd chanting the famous “Menace Beach” line “If this was ’92 they woulda beat yo ass”), Stalley, Freddie Gibbs, Pill, Aquaforce, Curren$y and Wiz Khalifa. With even more herb being smoked, this was another packed but yet imitate show. Despite my lungs being abused, it was great and really highlighted some of hip-hop’s next best artists. I just admit, I didn’t mind the consist weed smoke being blowed in my face. It was that good of a show.

 SATURDAY MARCH 20, 2010 – DAY 4

 Audible Treats Artist Showcase

SIGMUND’S DOPE:  Presentation, presentation, presentation. That might be language of a pimp but when it comes to marketing and publicity that’s the standard to live by. Having teamed up with BRM (Beyond Race Magazine), Audible Treats—the Brooklyn-based entertainment and publicity firm made sure that it not only showcased their high-ranking clientele but also set trends in the method of promotion. Before any music was heard, the showcase was to be seen with the event trending #audibletreats on Twitter. It wasn’t long before the live music took everyone into another level of hypeness as artist like Truth Live, Ill-Literacy and League 510 took the stage, slinging guitars and hair and everything. Enjoyable, yet centered as Audible Treats brought their hit-list of artist one after another, leaking sounds from the batting cages of Donwill and Von P of Tanya Morgan, Crown Royale, Finale, and the latest conglomerate, Diamond District (emcees XO, YU w/producer Odissee). The show closed with Black Sheep and Black Milk, which capped off the list of supreme beings that Audible Treats pushes on the daily. Great it was, especially seeing the support of master teachers like Alchemist in the building. It was a scientific method to the formula that Audible Treats stirred up. Any wise up-and coming artist would check their hypothesis.

JAKE CRATES: We started off Saturday with one of my favorite parts of the whole trip; interview with Bone, Bone, Bone, Bone, Bone… Bone… Bone Thugs in Harmony.  Being from Cleveland, OH and growing up on “Days of Our Lives,” “Crossroads” and E 1999 Eternal I was hyped.  I won’t lie, Bone is my s###.  Got people that live on St. Clair, grew up there, never really thought I would kick it with them.  Def was an honor to be with them and hear about the stuff they did with Eazy E, Tupac and Biggie.  Much respect to my fellow Clevelanders.GROUCHY GREG: Saturday we cooled out, caught some panels and went to kick it with Bone Thugs-N-Harmony. The weekend was beautiful weather up until this day. The temperature plunged to freezing and I heard people say it was going to snow. We got to Bone’s hotel room and the guys were in pretty good spirits. We had a nice long convo and their always 100% real with AllHipHop.com. Shout to my man Richie Abbott. So after that, we all went over to the Levi’s Fader Fort. We wound up in the photographers pit, which was really great for me. We were right under the lights. After bone killed it, we went back to the their trailer. It was a very festive atmosphere. If I remember correctly a 30-something woman was all up in there hyped, along with her daughter, who was equally amped up to meet the Cleveland legends.

video platformvideo managementvideo solutionsvideo player

 Levis – Fader Fort

After that we went to the Levis – Fader Fort. Def the hardest place to get into to see an act of SXSW but we got in amidst the rumors that Kanye, Jay-Z, Drake and others were going to show up.  They all proved to be nothing more than rumors.  Really that didn’t bother me too much because Bone’s performance was legendary and I was definitely impressed with the way that they controlled the crowd.  Bizzy was not there and Flesh wasn’t either, but even still the performance showed the fans that the music that Bone puts out isn’t going anywhere. History has proved it difficult to coordinate the schedules of 5 people after the success of a music group, such as Bone so I was happy with what I got and I am glad Krayzie isn’t leaving the group anymore.

Bone Thugs – N – Harmony  can rock it, even as a trio.

JIGSAW: Anybody that was there can tell you the temperature dropped ridiculously low in Austin. But we endured.

Best of the West

 DJ Quik

JAKE CRATES: Afterwards, we hit Club De Ville which featured Murs, DJ Quick, Daz and Kurupt, Jay Rock and whole host of other West Coast that artists that came to shut down the spot.  I saw QD3 Entertainment in the building, C-Rayz Wallz, Scoop Deville.   In addition, Bone Thugs came out for a special guest appearance with DJ Quik.  My homies from Cleveland shut it down again and DJ Quik brought the “Trauma” like he said he would when I dapped him up before he got on stage. One of the coolest and most talented producers in the game.  Dude doesn’t get nearly as much respect as he deserves in other parts of the country, but he does have a loyal following that knows all his lyrics.GROUCHY GREG: Best of the West was something else and probably my personal favorite of the week, besides our OWN event, of course, :-). Seriously, the place was packed with people who loved West coast Hip-Hop, both old and new. I got in and got out of the cold wind, by huddling near the bathrooms. I saw my man Quincy Jones III (QD3) and we kicked it for about 10 minutes. We went to the inside bar area and before I knew it, people were buying shots. Great! I went on stage and had a great time watching Kurupt and Daz rock the crowd. Before I knew it, WE were on stage too, taking pictures with Elliott Wilson, QD3, my man Jigsaw and lots of other people. Next thing I know, Murs is on the stage. If you haven’t seen this dude live you must make it a point to do so. He wrecked shop. Jay Rock impressed me and it was cool to see a bunch of people in Austin Texas who knew his lyrics word-for-word. My boy Wiggs came through with the rugby team from Delaware and we were on the side of the stage having a great time. DJ Quik gave a memorable performance. It was cold outside but it was really worth it.

Beat Society Showcase

DIANE “SHABAZZ” VARNIE: I only caught the last 30 minutes of this showcase, but I can say it was rather relaxing and entertaining for the remaining time. Hosted by Hot 97’s Peter Rosenburg and DJ Rhettmatic, the event shed light on the art of beat-making and showcased some of the most known unknown hip-hop producers. Taking turns at playing beats were producers DJ Badu, Marco Polo, Oddisee, Kev Brown, The Are and Khrysis. Though it was a beat battle, acts Dice Raw, Diamond District and Torae also blessed the stage as well. This was surely a genuine hip-hop event. Amateurs were not allowed (lol).

Hustlepalooza

DIANE “SHABAZZ” VARNIE: The connection with Hustle Simmons (who also hosted this event) makes me consider this part two to the Quality! showcase. This was one of the livest showcases I walked up to. First, upon entering there were a slur of random artists all hanging around outside- Curren$y was one of them. When you entered, you can see the swarm of people surrounding the performance platform. By Saturday, I was pretty hip to know who was representing what… and yes again Chicago was DEEP. I enjoyed this showcase because everyone has the intent to enjoy live hip-hop music and network. I don’t know if I had a sign “I Write For AllHipHop.com” on my forehead but everyone bombarded me with free t-shirts, CDs, and business cards. Niceeeee! Also being totally different to the Quality! showcase, a lot of people stand put in their stance, supporting whoever was next to hit the stage. Some of the acts to bless this stage included Bobby Creekwater, Skyzoo, Curtains, Ra The MC, Ro Spit, Dom Kennedy, Hollywood Holt and more.

JIGSAW: Overall, SXSW was an incredible experience. The sad part was simply there is too much ground to cover and seeing it all is unfathomable. Next year, we’ll be present and accounted for and we’ll try to catch it all anyway.

Bizzy Bone speaks out about his absence on Uni5 tour! Doozie Alert.

Bizzy Bone has refuted mostly everything that Bone Thugs-N-Harmony said about why he is not on the Uni5 Tour. They said that he was not a part of the tour, because he didn’t agree with the money situation tour-wise. Basically, the Thugs say, Bizzy thought they should have held out for more money. (Click here for that story!) The other Bone Thugs thought this was a promo opportunity for their album and didn’t push hard for the paper. Bizzy Bone tells a very different story, basically that he wasn’t wanted on the tour. Peep the video!

What Does Erykah Badu’s “Window Seat” Mean?

Most people have seen the Erykah Badu’s cryptic video “Window Seat,” the latest single from her New Amerykah Part Two: Return of the Ankh. The Dallas-bred singer admitted stripping down nude was no easy task. “i was petrified while shooting this video … but liberation began to set in .i conquered many fears in that few moments . i am greatful,” she admitted on Twitter. Badu’s posterior may garner her attention, but thinking folks are attempting to decode the message that remains once once everything is striped down. Watch the video and decide what you think it means.

We took it to Twitter and decided to share the best explanations we’ve found, some of which have been co-signed by Badu herself.

1) “i think video is the display of an artist being closed up within themself@1st, then strips layers along the way Once those layers are totally stripped down 4everyone 2see, people want to shoot u down (assassinate you) video is genius..”

Little Brother and 9th Wonder “Battle” On Twitter

(AllHipHop News) A war of words broke out on Twitter Saturday between Little Brother and producer 9th Wonder, who is a former producer and founding member in the group.

According to Phonte, a rapper in Little Brother, the issue started when the group attempted to use the last song the former trio recorded as a group on their new album, Leftback LP.

Here is what Phonte said:

Aiight folks, backstory on Star:

This was recorded back in ’05-06 at Young Guru’s crib sometime after the release of Minstrel Show.

This was intended for Leftback as an iTunes bonus track but we just got word today that @9thwondermusic doesn’t want us to use it for whatever reason, and that’s fine.

In any event, I’m not gonna let anything or anybody stop me from getting music to my fans. F**k that.

Enjoy. And as always, thank you for listening.

After the message, Phonte left a download link to “Star,” which was removed as an iTunes bonus song.

9th Wonder soon responded a fan on Twitter.

“Let people talk bro….only if they knew the REAL story,” he said to which Phonte responded, “Well, tell your side of it or shut the f**k up.”

9th said, “@phontigallo you are NOT a tough guy…….none of us is…so KILL that noise…..and n***as aint shuttin up.”

The breakup of the group came after the group’s second album and, to which 9th Wonder has largely been quiet.

“Twitterfolk…I have maintained silence on the matter for LONG time..for this reason. I apologize to yall for steppin outta character,” the producer said.

The other rapper of Little Brother, Big Pooh, said, “This situation has 2 many layers for an outsiders input to really penetrate the train of thought. I appreciate the comments tho, either way. this aint about money, this aint about women, this aint about music…its about respect, loyalty, and ego.”

Eventually, Phonte added a viral video to speak his his peace.

Phonte speaks on Little Brother/9th Wonder from Phonte Coleman on Vimeo.

9th Wonder concluded his statements with, “Please don’t feed into this madness yall…real talk….good music will still be made by all of us…..”

Pooh echoed those sentiments saying, “We are all grown, nobody is a victim in this situation, nobody.”

Knockout Nation: Abraham vs. Dirrell Tonight! Erik Morales Returns, Green-Ward, Guzman Overweight Again! David Haye Next for the Klitschkos?

Can Dirrell Beat Abraham?

Tonight American Andre Dirrell (18-1, 13 KOs) will attempt to get his first win in the Super Six over current tournament leader Arthur Abraham (31-0, 25 KOs).

Abraham came out with guns blazing in his first bout by viciously knocking out Jermain Taylor in the 12th round. That crushing defeat made Taylor withdraw from the tournament and possibly may be his last fight.

Dirrell lost a hotly disputed decision to Carl Froch on the same night in his first title bid for the WBC strap. Dirrell performed good in spots, landing sharp counters and befuddling Froch with speed and movement. But the young fighter was many times reluctant to throw, and allowed Froch to bully him against the ropes and take rounds on sloppy aggression.

To get his first win, Dirrell will have to turn in a flawless performance against a powerhouse that has not learned yet how to lose. There are 2 flaws that stand out in Abraham as a fighter: his tendency to drop early rounds feeling out his opponent, and not being able to transition smoothly between his offense and defense.

It’s essential that Dirrell pile up a decent lead in those early rounds, when Abraham will be content to let him work away while he holds firm behind a peek a boo defense. Arthur is too strong on the inside, so Dirrell will want to make it an outside fight where Abraham has to lunge and chase after him.

When Abraham puts the heat on in the middle and late rounds, we will learn if Andre Dirrell has the heart and toughness to be a champion. If he goes into a shell, holds, and complains like he did against Froch, he’ll likely be knocked cold.

If he stays composed, and strategically stands his ground and throws hard shots when Abraham is on defense, Dirrell could take a close but clear decision.

Because he’s on American soil, Abraham should put the pressure on from the beginning. The crowd will cheer everything Dirrell does and the hometown fighter will get the benefit of the doubt in close rounds. Early pressure will reveal if Dirrell can stay focused for 12 rounds.

Dirrell could pull out a performance like Andre Ward did on Mikkel Kessler, but the safe bet is on Abraham. Because his back is against the wall, I’m going to take a chance on the underdog and go with Dirrell by a split decision in a fight that’s tactical early, and heats up over the last 4 rounds.

Allan Green Calls Ward Injury Suspect

Andre Ward won’t face Allan Green on April 24 due to issues with a surgically repaired knee. But Super Six newcomer Allan Green remains skeptical of the timing of Ward’s injury.

In an interview with Big Dog Radio, Green questioned how Ward could announce he would be out at least 6 weeks before completing an MRI.

“I just find the situation kind of odd, before he even got an MRI done it was said that he needed to be out for 6 weeks. I am like how do you know that with your knee just being inflamed,” Green detailed. “I am not saying it is true or untrue, I just don’t know why the fight has to be postponed for so long…To me it is bogus, but whatever, he will have to get in the ring sooner or later and when he does I will take his title and become champion, simple as that regardless of when it is.”

Green also remains baffled that he was left out of Six Super tournament initially in favor of former middleweight champion Jermain Taylor. When Taylor withdrew following his second KO loss, Green was given a shot as an alternate.

“I couldn’t understand it, I came off a devastating knockout over Carlos De Leon Jr. Jermain came in after getting knocked out, we were on the same card, and I heard about the tournament and I was left out,” Green fumed. “I really cannot cry over split milk, I am in the tournament now, but I was confused and I really didn’t understand it. But me being in the tournament changes everything.”

“To Andre Ward, I respect him, he won the title from Kessler, he is religiously grounded kid and all of that is good, but however, this is boxing and when you become a champion, you have to fight everybody. You cannot pick and choose to fight whom you want to fight, and I am not saying that is even you, but if it is stop being like that, and if it is not, don’t turn into that guy. Step in the ring when it is time for you and me to get it on, no games no nothing, no more hurt knees no more hurt pinkies or whatever, let’s just get it on period.”

At press time, the new fight date is June 19.

Erik Morales Makes Return on PPV

Future Hall of Famer Erik Morales wants one more shot at glory and fights tonight on PPV after a near 3 year absence.

Morales’s last win was in 2005, when he defeated Manny Pacquiao in a great shootout at super featherweight. In 2006, Morales was subsequently knocked out twice in rematches with Manny, and lost a controversial decision to David Diaz in 2007.

Turning 34 years old this year, Morales is going into uncharted waters at welterweight to face a journeyman in Jose Alfaro (23-5, 20 KOs). El Terrible reportedly had to drop a lot of weight to get to the 147 pound limit. Ring rust is to be expected, but Morales expects to have his experience to see him through.

“Losing so much weight in recent months isn’t going to affect me. For 2 ½  months we worked a lot on the technical issues but we also made the best effort trying to achieve peak physical condition,” Morales stated at his open workout. “I also mean that I was six months into the plan to establish a steady weight loss and here are the results. We planned to work hard to get into top form and I reached it. We know that he is very strong, but that’s why we wanted to fight someone like him. I will not defraud anyone, let alone myself, and this is the optimal test. I will be the strongest, smartest and most experienced in the ring against Alfaro.”

The card, named The Champion Returns, begins tonight at 9PM for $29.95. It is also available at www.GoFightLive.TV

Joan Guzman Fails to Make Weight…Again

Joan Guzman has once again put another fight card in doubt by coming in 9 pounds overweight for his rematch with Ali Funeka.

For the scheduled lightweight (135 pounds) bout this evening, Guzman weighed in yesterday at 144 pounds. Funeka made the lightweight limit.

To salvage the fight, promoters scrambled and made a new contract. Under the revised terms, Guzman must undergo a second weigh-in and not come in over 150 pounds. Funeka cannot weigh more than 145 pounds, and will still be allowed to claim the IBF title should he win.

But the fight remains uncertain since the IBF would not guarantee that Guzman’s ranking would not go down should he lose.

Funeka previously decided to fight an overweight Nate Campbell, and lost a close decision. Last November, many feel Funeka was robbed by receiving a draw in his first fight with Guzman.

More than likely, HBO will make sure the fight goes on because of the money they’ve invested. As of last night, the network was still advertising the show.

Also on the card, Marcos Maidana will seek to build on his upset TKO of Victor Ortiz last year with a bout against Victor Cayo.

David Haye Must Get Through Ruiz Before Klitschkos

After failed negotiations with both Klitschkos in 2009, David Haye plans to use veteran John Ruiz as a stepping stone to a big money showdown later this year.

Haye gave up over 100 pounds to Nikolai Valuev in his last fight, who he beat in a tactical, boring fight to win the WBA heavyweight title.

With that in mind, Haye has promised to wage war with Ruiz.

“It’s going to be more of a slugfest and I’m expecting to take some abuse in this one, so I’m just preparing my body for the worst,” Haye told Sport Magazine. “His whole career has been boring up to now. I know he’s going to be there after 12 rounds, I know I’m going to be there for 12 rounds so you’re going to get a really explosive fight. You’re going to get fireworks, that’s 100%.”

The Klitschkos have been ruling the heavyweight division with iron fists, with younger brother Wladimir scoring a brutal KO last week over Eddie Chambers.

Still, Haye claims the brothers are ready to be taken.

“Wladimir’s more vulnerable as he’s been knocked out a few times, whereas Vitali hasn’t,” he said. “But then Vitali is older and has well documented knee problems, so he’s not as mobile as his younger brother, but he’s tougher. They’re both beatable. The plan is to get John  Ruiz out of the way, get the fights with the Klitschko brothers, then unify the titles.

Haye-Ruiz is scheduled for next Saturday (April 3) in Manchester, England.

Duo Live: Back To The Brooklyn Basics

Maneuvering independently within the Hip-Hop game for over ten years, Duo Live has really given their all into the music. Not only the music but what they want to give back to the people of the culture. Hip-Hop culture to be exact. It shows with the basis of talented artists they’ve worked with in the past and continue to work with today. From touring with Method Man and Redman to airing videos featuring Fabolous, the team has put together a coupled force that has garnered respect with time. It’s impressive to see two people decide to take things into their own hands and actually succeed in America. With a new album set to release this year, the group has features with Snoop, Mikal Rose and Game Rebellion to name a few. When asked about the groups upcoming album, Fre had this to say. “Our new album is a return to our roots. Meaning we’re taking it back to the essence of Hip-Hop, dope beats and hot lyrics with a message. Expect the best of Duo.” Music:“Inevitable” VIDEO PREMIERE

AllHipHop.com: What is Duo Live about?Fre: It’s me Fre and my partner Sid, we collectively make up the group Duo Live. Arguably, I think we’re one of the most successful independent Hip-Hop groups ever, especially from out of the East coast. Arguably in Hip-Hop itself. What we did was, we were the first cats to pop the trunk and sell over 375,000 copies of our CD independently. We did it all the way from New York down to Miami. People were coming from all over, but our base was set up in New York and we went and set up in Miami. We made some good music over the years. We have quite a catalog actually. We have 5 albums, 12 or 14 mixtapes, 12 music videos which have made it to Vh1, BET and MTV. We’ve managed to tour nationally with some great artists. It’s been from Angie Stone, Lil Wayne to Meth and Redman. I think we’re really accomplished and we’ve made really good music. I think we’re just true Hip-Hop in every sense of the word.AllHipHop.com: How do you think your mixtape success affected other acts during that time and since then?Sid: It’s interesting because at the time when we were doing the mix CD’s, there were actual physical mix CD’s with the covers and what not. We had some done with DJ’s hosting like Kay Slay and DJ Khaled in Miami and Absolut as well. What we were doing at the time was much different. There wasn’t the whole uploading your mixtape and stuff like that. There was more pressure to sell the CDs hand to hand and getting it out that way. You actually saw money off your music. Now mixtapes are much more for exposure and promotion. We were doing it for promotion as well, but back then we could make money off it. Mixtape DJ’s were able to make money as well. Now it’s strictly for promotion which is good. You give the people a chance to hear what it is you have and with that they can make a decision.Fre: I think our approach has come into fruition in these times. Now that people can upload your mixtape and what not, people are more in control of their own destiny. It has a lot of pros and cons, but we always chose that route. We made that decision a long time ago when it wasn’t fashionable to do so. When everyone was still running around trying to get record deals, we created our own name. We blazed our own trail. That’s how we became so successful and so respected throughout the music industry. I’m happy that people are in a position where they can come and see the light and make things happen for themselves. It’s always best to do things your own way if you can. The operative words are if you can. I love it.AllHipHop.com: What are some pros and cons of being independent?Sid: You get to control your own destiny. You have total creative control over your own music. You can decide what you want to put out there and choose certain singles. You can pick out how you want videos to go and how things are placed.Fre: The cons are running out of money. Whenever you’re apart of your own revolution you have to be mindful of things. We were rich. We had our own houses in Miami. There were places in New York. We had cars, full stacks and stuff like that. We were really doing it, living the dream. We’ve also seen the flip side. The side where you’re down and out again. Everything is gone. There was nothing left but me and Sid in the studio. We gotta build it back up from the ground. You have to be prepared for the roller coaster. It’s a real roller coaster when you’re an entrepreneur. When you choose to go independent, you’re really independent. That means you are left alone whether you’re on top or on the bottom. That’s basically it. I love it. We learned to love it and we grew into it. There are some good times and some bad times.AllHipHop.com: With that being said, what is money to you? You do have a whole album surrounding the subject.Fre: Money is just another resource. Its value is what you give it. Its value is what you make it to be on both sides. For some people, time is the most valuable resource. For other people health is the most valuable resource. For some people money is the most valuable resource. It’s what you deem it to be. I see it as a healing tool. I say that because I’m a black person. I think the greatest disease in my community is poverty. That’s across the entire world for most people of African decent. Poverty has really impacted us and been thrown upon us by many different forces. For me, I see money as a tool to help change our situation. I don’t see it for much else. There isn’t too much else for it. If you’re not using it correctly it can be very dangerous. As we see everyday. If you mismanage it, it can start wars. Look at what the United States does, they use their money for wars. If they used half that money for wars on education, we’d have a nation full of geniuses. We have poor education and two wars going on right now. They’re spearheading it with a bunch of dollars. What you use it for is what you make out of it. That’s how I see it.Sid: Basically. Money has dual energy. You can use it to better yourself and better your people. Other than the obvious uses like keeping the lights on and basic dynamics. You don’t just use money to show off and be frivolous. It goes both ways. The whole money concept for the album, was based on the movie “The Color of Money”. That movie had Paul Newman and Tom Cruise. We touched on a bunch of different topics. Some of it was based on what Fre had said earlier.Fre: At the end of the day what we were trying to show was, that for us the color of money was black not green. Where we were coming from, the focus was on the issue of money in the black community. That was the theme of it. This is a black issue. We’re not just going to talk about it the same way everybody else does. Not be all about saying we got a lot of money look at me. We were like okay, yeah we got money but this is what we’re doing with it. This is what our intentions are with our money. We feel like our people should be doing this with our money. That’s what it was.AllHipHop.com: What has Brooklyn brought to your music?Fre: How did our music get to Brooklyn should be the question. Brooklyn is the funnel for all our sound. I think our sound is heavily influenced by the Carribean. Black music as well, such as jazz, blues and rock. All of that coming through a Brooklyn filter. What you get is Brooklyn Hip-Hop. That’s what we do. That’s exactly what we do. We don’t know how to do anything else. We put out a record with Nipsey Hustle and B Real from Cypress Hill. It was still Brooklyn as sh*t. In my opinon anyway. It was still a Brooklyn vibe. Whenever we do a record, we bring people to Brooklyn. I think its just how it is.Sid: As far as us being from Brooklyn, and being influenced by Hip-Hop and being around it all the time, we’re from Bedstuy Brooklyn so we heard of artists other people may not know of. There were a lot of artists from the neighborhood and you just hear it and see how the people react. It makes you go, okay if we’re going to do the music we have to be on those levels. Then people like B.I.G. come along and Jay-Z of course and other artists like Papoose, Maino and Fab. It’s a legacy. People coming up in that or growing up in that, you see it and think to yourself that you gotta be better than these dudes. They get the co-signs in the neighborhood and you gotta get it too. The bar is raised really high in Brooklyn. That’s what influences the music a lot. I gotta get the people behind this.AllHipHop.com: Would you say you do crossover stuff with your sound? For instance having a heavy bassline to match a Southern type beat.Sid: We’ve done songs that have a Southern vibe. We travel so of course when you travel you hear a lot.Fre: We live in Miami right now.Sid: When you hear different sounds, it gives you inspiration. It transcends into your music. We love the sounds that come out of the South, L.A. and Jamaica to name a few.Fre: When we go out to Jamaica and get the vibe out there, we come back ready to do stuff. Even on this new project we’re working on, it’s with a black rock band. We’re working on something with Game Rebellion. It’s pretty hot. We love experimenting with other sounds and doing different things. At the end of the day, it’s all still black music. It’s still within our range. Whether the people believe it or not. Its just where you choose to shoot from. Some people shoot from the three point line, others shoot from the beginning of the paint.AllHipHop.com: Why Miami to do your recording?Fre: We record everywhere.Sid: I’m in Brooklyn right now actually.Fre: I just left yesterday from recording. We record everywhere to be honest. We actually record in Miami, L.A., we even record sometimes in Vegas or New York as well. There’s numerous spots we go to. This new album we recorded mostly in Miami. We going to wrap it up in Brooklyn, New York.AllHipHop.com: Compare your team to another prodcuer/DJ and rapper team.Fre: I wanna compare us to one right now that’s heavily on my mind. That would be Gangstarr. Shouts to Guru and his whole family. Guru had a massive heart attack. That’s actually one of our favorite Hip-Hop groups. Coming up, without trying to, we patterned ourselves around them. DJ Premier has always been one of the best DJ’s and prodcuers from the East coast. For us, there were a lot of similarities I always thought. that Guru had a unique voice. People always tell me that I have one. There’s a lot of similarities between us and we love their music.Sid: We’ve had the pleasure of meeting both of them.Fre: Exactly, we actually got to be real cool with them. If I’m going to say one group that we’re closest to in a respect, it would be Gangstarr.AllHipHop: Your most recent tour was with KRS-ONE correct?Sid: Actually that tour was cancelled. It was scheduled then it never pulled through.Fre: We have done a lot of spot dates with KRS before and speaking of Public Enemy, they were in our recent video. We had the pleasure of Professor Griff and Chuck D introducing the video. They were in it along with Kool Herc. As far as Public Enemy goes, we’ve known Chuck for years. Our relationship with the group has really established over the years. Its incredible to work with and to know them and stuff. They have a wealth of information and knowledge that goes way beyond music. They know everything about the Hip-Hop game and the game in general.Sid: Recently we did go on tour with Meth and Red.Fre: We were just with them and it was last year. We went to 21 or 22 cities. It was a lot of fun.AllHipHop.com: Speak to me a bit about your song “Princess.” I recently saw it on Vh=H1 actually.Fre: “Princess” is actually an old record that kind of keeps coming back. We released a version that’s not the better version. It’s the remix. The remix is the one they play with Fabolous and Al B Sure. The original record was just featuring Fab. We thought it was a better record that way. For commercial appeal we put the remix out. It’s just crazy how the record will keep coming back. It was doing really well, then it slowed down and now recently there’s been a resurgence of it. Between Vh1, MTV and BET, they’re playing it again. It’s even on Music Choice on demand. I’m always shocked when people talk about “Princess” because that record was made 3 almost 4 years ago. Shouts to “Princess” I guess, it’s a really good record.AllHipHop.com: There hasn’t been a push from a PR person or anything in regards to it?Fre: No. We haven’t pushed that record since 2007. We haven’t touched or spoken of the record since. Look, it’s 2010 and people are still talking about it.Visit Duo Live at:myspace.com/duolivetwitter.com/Hd_fretwitter.com/BrooklynSidV

SIGNS THE WORLD IS COMING TO AN END!

So, I googled this one and got a direct hit. When a woman is accused of the rape and solomy of her own kid, I have to look it up. I peeped this one and if you look at her myspace, there’s all sorts of bizarre stuff, even Satan signs. You will not believe this one that I got off the Associated Press via The Riverfront Times:

SAN FRANCISCO — Two people are behind bars for allegedly raping and sodomizing a 13-month-old girl and taking pictures of the acts.

Tessa Van Vlerah, 20, from Missouri and Kenneth Kyle, 46 a university professor from San Francisco, are both facing multiple felonies.

Among them, statutory rape in the first degree, first degree statutory sodomy and promoting child pornography in the first degree.

Van Vlerah was arrested at her Missouri home on Tuesday.

Kyle was arrested Monday at San Francisco International Airport, after returning from a trip to Europe

Federal agent began investigating Kyle in December when they discovered he was allegedly exchanging child p### on line with others.

Agents contacted San Francisco authorities and a search warrant was served at Kyle’s home a week ago.

At Kyle’s home in San Francisco, agents discovered communications on his computer with Van Vlerah.

Police say Kyle made several trips to St. Louis over the past year to visit Van Vlerah.

During those visits, the couple would go to motels in the Westport area and engage in sex acts with the baby, police say.

This allegedly started when the baby was just five months old. She’s now 13 months old.

Investigators say Van Vlerah and Kyle met online.

Van Vlerah is jailed on a two million dollar bond.

Kyle has state and federal cases pending in San Francisco as well as the charges in Missouri.

The baby is in state custody.

13 MONTH OLD BABY, WE LOVE YOU!!!

They keep us talking, but if we stop talking about them then they should worry!
