info outside of what the streets have whispered in our ear. Read on.THE DAILY TWO SENSECASSIE ISSUES STATEMENT ON NUDE LEAKED PICSCassie is not happy and I don’t blame her. Still, she’s pretty cute. “The recent personal pictures that have been leaked on the internet of me were hacked and stolen out of my computer. These photos were obviously never intended for the world to see and it’s sad that people would really take time to steal and post them, it’s just evil. At the end of the day breasts are breasts, mine weren’t the first you’ve seen and they won’t be the last… people need to grow up, let’s move on. Thank you. Cassie.”Here is the twitter message she left:“IT SEEMS THAT SOMEONE HAS HACKED INTO MY COMPUTER…THAT’S REAL FOUL AND EVIL. NOW STOP ACTING LIKE YOU HAVEN’T SEEN A T#### BEFORE.”

Also, take a time to check out how a certain drug company allegedly knowingly spread HIV in other parts of the world. SMH.

RUMOR TIME!

ALFAMEGA IN THE HOSPITAL?

I don’t really have too much to go on with regard to this one, but I heard that Alfamega has been hospitalized for some reason or another. Now, I had originally heard that it may be in relation to the mess that happened allegedly at D4L’s studio, but that doesn’t seem to be related at all. All this is very strange to me. LOL. I live a quiet life.

OLD SCHOOL REALNESS

You know, I love the old school. It was a time when everything was shrouded in mystery and nobody could really get to the root of things. Consequently, you were always looking and searching for more. These days, one twitter/blog/video and its all out there. I guess that’s cool too, but the mystique is definitely lifted.

With that, I wanted to give you some rumors from back in the day. I cannot say any names other than these are all New York artists. They don’t play that and I don’t want any of them mad at me.

Most rappers aren’t the tough guys they purport themselves to be, but there are some from the 80’s that just didn’t play. There is one rapper that I’ve heard too many first hand accounts about from back in the day. I heard this individual would issue beat downs, robberies, kidnappings, extortions, and even body catching, if you catch my drift. I heard this rapper beat down the biggest rapper of that era and his manager had to pay the gully rapper money just to stay off his artist. There is another component to this rumor, but its too close to home and somebody is certain to sniff it out. The fact is, those days are pretty much a thing of the past. Shout out to the old school.

MF DOOM BEEF WITH WHO?

Well, this is an odd beef! Everybody knows who MF Doom is, right? If you don’t get a Hip-Hop clue! Doom is a rapper and producer who is really dope. His claim to fame is he wears a big metal mask. He’s known all over for this metal mask and they even call him Metal Face from time to time. Well, Doom recently did a show in the UK and I heard he had some things to say. He did his song “Batty Boys” and cut it off in the middle to scream on this dude. He shouted out this dude named Anon. Who knew? One of my new readers hit me up and said that Anon is a producer that wears a metal mask too. But, his mask is like the ones seen in “300” and Doom’s resembles the one rocked my Dr. Doom. I don’t really know where this is headed. Anon is as obscure as it gets and Doom is pretty underground too. I guess…Hip-Hop and beef is just inseparable.

Here is Doom’s “Batty Boyz,” which is supposedly directed to Anon. It seems like a diss to gays, but I have been assured its not.

ANON SPEAKS

What’s funny is Anon is the big winner in all of this. Check out his response to the “beef.”

Ok so i logged on my profile today to see that i had 3 pages of messages asking me about my beef with Hip Hop artist MF DOOM. In addition to that, apparently there are fliers (online banners), images..or whatever you want to call them posted all over the net. So before this s### gets out of hand, i would like to say that NO I AM NOT BEEFING WITH MF DOOM. NO WE ARE NOT BEEFING OVER OUR MASKS. S**T I DONT EVEN KNOW THE BROTHA.

Is Doom creating something that’s not really there?

NAS’ DIVORCE DETAILS?

I really hate talking about something as personal as divorce, beause its so intrusive to real people’s real life. But somebody forwarded me something from theybf.com and it was some “source’s” view on what happened. They are saying that, while Kelis filed for divorce, it was Nas that really put the act in motion. Here it is:

We’re told that the fast downfall of their marriage began when Nas learned of Kelis’ sex tape with a rapper (who is not well known at all). When news of the sex tape leaked to the media, Nas’ ego and pride were understandably hurt. The raunchy sexcapades were taped before Nas and Kelis got married, but apparently it didn’t matter. He physically removed himself from her presence, which is why we rarely saw them together these last few months.

Said source also tells us this pregnancy was Kelis’ last ditch attempt to save the marriage. And while Nas is happy with his son being on the way, he was still going to file for divorce. But apparently, Kelis wanted to beat him to the punch–likely out of spite–so she hurriedly filed first.

D-BLOCK!

Love the album cover – HIP-HOP!

TIA’S BOOK IS ON THE WAY!

Here is an exerpt of Tia’s book on Rick Ross. They are going all out with this one.

Things didn’t go as planned with the house and Will never actually moved us down there. I loved my apartment and by early 2007 I was living a peaceful life. I wasn’t getting anymore phone calls from Stonia or Ms. Tommie. Will was paying the rent and the bills and flying in and out of town so I didn’t have to deal with headaches from him all the time. I didn’t have to cook for him every night and take care of his b#######. I was in my own apartment, and had a big brand new truck, no one could tell me anything. I didn’t have to worry about Will’s momma and his sister anymore and their negative attitudes and vibes and I still had him. He wasn’t going anywhere. They forgot that he had to deal with me, I had his son, I had Lil’ Will.

They were the ones missing out because they could only see Lil’ Will through his dad. I would not communicate with Ms. Tommie and Renee. They weren’t able to call me. If they did, I wouldn’t answer. I wasn’t bringing my son over to them. They had to wait until Will was in town and took his son to them.

I heard on the streets and in the hair salon all these rumors about how Rick Ross’s mom kicked me out of the house and beat me up. When I heard rumors I had to confront them and tell people what happened. That’s the only way you can get the truth out there. I knew Stonia was the one who had put all the s### out there. She always tried to f### with me because Will treated me so much better than her. She always wanted to make me look bad. But I could care less because he was mine as much as I wanted him. I was f###### him when I wanted to f### him. He was flying me around town and buying me nice s###. That dumb b#### stayed in a house he owned where she couldn’t change the locks if she wanted to. I had my own place and his name was not on it even though he was paying for it. It would still be my place even if he stopped. And I had a big-ass SUV with TV’s while she was driving around with her two kids in a Beatle Bug. The girl didn’t wanna see me on any level. She could never walk in my shoes. She never did things that I did. So I didn’t give a f### about her and couldn’t understand why she stayed talking about me.

Things between Stonia and I got crazy though on April 17, 2007. I had left my house to take my kids to school and on the way back home Lil’ Will got sick and had diarrhea in his pamper. It leaked into his car seat so I took the car set out of the truck, cleaned it out then put it on my balcony to dry. By that afternoon it was still pretty wet and I couldn’t use it but I had to pick DeAngelo and DeAndre up from school. Since there was no one around to help pick the boys up I decided to seatbelt Lil’ Will in the back seat of the truck and head to the school, which wasn’t that far and I would drive very carefully.

I was at the entrance of my apartment complex, which was gated with a keypad for security and a directory box, and I saw a little red Toyota. There was a girl standing at the keypad looking through the names for the code to push to notify her visitor she was there. I recognized instantly that it was Stonia because of orange-red hairweave even though it wasn’t her car. I u-turned my car and came around, tooted the horn, rolled down the window and leaned out and said, “Hey, you looking for me?” I knew she had to be but couldn’t find my name since the apartment was under my mom and step-dad’s name and she didn’t know that.

NICK CANNON’S REAL!

Nick Cannon really loves him some Mariah. I guess that’s what happens when you get married. LOL. What was the gift that he gave her?

AMY WINEHOUSE IS STILL A MESS

I’ll tell you. I used to really like Amy Winehouse and her music. Here is the most recent stuff. These days, she’s just a mess, man. People close to Amy are very worried about her constant alcohol drinking. They say that her body is so thin and dehydrated she will be a public laughing stock when she steps on stage for a jazz fest in St. Lucia. She was recently hospitalized for dehydration and she just looks bad. She is performing this upcoming Friday so if you are in St. Lucia, let me know what happens.

RAY-J DATING TILA TEQUILA

I have to say, I couldn’t care less. This is just filler rumors stuff. But Tila Tequila is coming forward about her love for Ray-J. She let it all out in a blog:

“He is so sweet to me and makes me melt every time I see him. I love my baby so there you have it! Tila Tequila is officially dating Ray J!!!!!! I think we make the cutest couple. We’ve been dating for a while but didn’t want the media to find out because it’s nobody’s business, but since all these other random rumors starting poppin up that I’m dating so, and so, I finally felt that I needed to tell the world that rumors are NOT TRUE!!!!”

MORE ON THE TONI IMPERSONATOR

Well, that thing is gaining some momentum. Trina Johnson has a whole Facebook movement trying to get her out of jail. Also, for those that care, you can help her with her legal fees. I still think Toni Braxton needs to do something about this!

DONATIONS TO COVER LEGAL FEES CAN BE MADE BY:

Paypal by entering “send money” and putting in email address of pi*******@***oo.com or mailing a check payable to Raymond Finn P.O. Box 750613, Las Vegas, NV 89136

Here is a part of a comment that Trina Johnson sent to those that support her:

“Overall i’m holding up okay. I’m having some problems with back pains and abdominal pains (probably from my last surgery) and asked to talk with the doctor about it, so i’m hoping to see the doctor here onsite next Weds. (5/6) when I hope to recieve my blood tests back as well. They took me to the lab on Tues. morning to draw blood to check for viruses, my blood count and iron levels, so i’ll let you know what I find out. I’m trying to write a letter to the director making him aware of my health conditions and pain. Please pass this on to the Embassy in case you get this letter before my next visit from them…

Since i’m now only allowed to make a call to the U.S. twice a month for 10 minutes, I want to make sure we pre-arrange a time to reach you. So prepare everything you want to discuss in advance and we’ll try to write really long letters in between calls. I’m really anxious to hear how everyone is doing back home and want all the details about the Benefit… who attended, who performed, who helped out, etc. I’m really sorry I couldn’t be there myself. How is everything with everyone? Has things started to fizzle a little or is word getting out and gaining momentum? I know how quickly people can get bored with things in the news. I’ll just be glad when all this is over and done with so I can move on to the next chapter in my life. Whatever that is. Something very positve and uplifting for sure…”

ILLSEED’S QUICKIES

Some Rhianna stalker reminded me that the pics of Rihanna and her ex are from a few years ago. But, the rumor stands. She and her ex might be linking back up.

Looks like Halle Berry wants “Storm” to have her own movie like Wolverine. She’s going to be 50 by the time that happens.

Simon Cowell earns $36 million each season on “American Idol” and Paula Abdul earns about $2 million. Simon is supposedly quitting after this season.

Keyshia Cole is reportedly dating a dude named Daniel Gibson, who is a hooper on the Cleveland Cavaliers. I guess these rumors have been around for some time but he appears in her new video. To keep people talking no doubt.

Chris Brown’s lawyer, Mark Geragos, is demanding that the LAPD give up information on how that beaten up picture of Rihanna leaked.

Drake isn’t yet signed to Universal Motown yet. They are working on something, but haven’t named the label.

SIGNS THE WORLD IS COMING TO AN END

Ahhhh…these days…every day is something new. This time, the sign involves the kids of Athens, Ohio. Four used syringes with brown residue on them were confiscated from a first grader after the needles were discovered by the student’s teacher. This all went down at Chauncey Elementary School when the teacher found the drug materials in a folder. The student claimed to not know anything about them, but did indicate that his mother had been in his bag. The cops suspect that that brown stuff on the needle is heroin, but they had to get them tested to be sure. No charges have been filed but…I believe they will.

EPIC FAILURE OF THE DAY

This is the piece of trash that tossed a 3-month old baby out of a car on a highway. Man, I hope they tear him apart in jail right before the death penalty. I was hoping he wasn’t Black even though that shouldn’t matter under the sick circumstances.

Richard A. McTear Jr. is a 21-year-old man now charged with first-degree murder.

SMH…man, what a sick generation we are raising.

PRE-MOTHER’S DAY LOVE

Russell Simmons wrote a letter in honor of Kimora, his ex:

To all the fathers out there, it’s almost Mother’s Day, so you better start thinking about doing the right thing…Flowers, dinner, breakfast in bed, tuition, something special…

Everyone knows Kimora Lee Simmons as a fashion model, author, the genius behind Baby Phat, President and creative director for Phat Fashions, philanthropist, reality television star, talk show host, top model judge…the list goes on and on. To me, she has been my partner, best friend, consultant, confidant and basically the greatest mother I could ever hope for, for my daughters. I feel so blessed to continue to have such a great personal and professional relationship with her. Every time I spend time with our girls, I credit her for giving them their manners, thoughtfulness, intelligence, beauty and kindness.

A lot of you fathers, if you look deeply inside of yourself, you will find the support system in your baby’s mama, that allows you the freedom to sleep at night. Even though you are partly disconnected from the daily process of raising your children, you can trust that she’s getting the job done. So celebrate your baby’s mama, as I do! I know damn well, I’m grateful for my babies’ mama.

Happy Mother’s Day Kimora! You are loved, appreciated and celebrated!

All my love,

Russell

AHH Stray News: Soulja Boy Lands Third #1 Single

Atlanta rapper Soulja Boy Tellem has landed his third #1 nationwide single, as his track “Turn My Swag On” will top Billboard’s Urban Airplay chart next week. Just last month, Soulja Boy’s single “Kiss Me Thru The Phone” also hit #1 on Urban and Crossover radio. Both singles have sold a combined 2.5 million digital copies and are taken from the rapper’s sophomore album iSouljaboytellum. Soulja Boy’s first #1 single was the massive hit single “Crank That (Soulja Boy),” which sat at the top of the charts for seven weeks in 2007. This morning during an interview with Good Day L,A, the rapper explained that he still isn’t satisfied with his success.

Trick Daddy On Rick Ross: “I’m Gonna Start Beating My Kid’s A**”

Trick Daddy has chastised Rick Ross as his “child,” stating that he’s going to “gonna start beating my kid’s ass.”

The veteran rapper interviewed with on Angela Yee on Shade 45 satellite-radio and expressed discontent for the way Ross represented his health in the song “Valley of Death” from Ross’ Deeper than Rap CD.

On the song, Ross says, “Caught a little case, buddy had a little cheddar/ Pled out to 15, poured his life in a letter/ Very first line he called Trick Daddy stupid/ Said he had AIDS telling people that it’s lupus/ Not the one just to jump to conclusions/ I’m getting money, small talk can be a nuisance.”

While the line wasn’t an an overt diss to Trick Daddy, it certainly was offensive to him and the ailment he suffers from – lupus.

“I’d like to apologize for my kid’s misbehaving in class and on the radio and in the concerts. I let Ross start eating table food too fast,” Trick Daddy told Angela Yee. “When you don’t raise your kids, they will throw their hands up at you. I just don’t understand it”

He said that he never had a reason to beef with Ross, his former label mate.

“I was a big Ross fan,” Trick continued. “If you check all my interviews, the web, radio – I never dissed him. I always told people I like Ross. I supported him.”

In their last conversation, Ross said that he would be lyrically “taking shots” at Trick Daddy in the future.

To that, Trick said, “You cannot outshine the master.”

GA Governor Signs Speeding Law With Andre 3000 By His Side

Rapper Andre 3000 continued to make amends for his speeding violation yesterday (May 5), by making a high profile appearance with the Governor of Georgia, who signed a new “Super Speeder” law in the state.

Andre “3000” Benjamin appeared with Governor Sonny Perdue yesterday at the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Scottish Rite campus.

Gov. Perdue signed the new measure, which adds an additional $200 fine on to drivers who are caught traveling over 85 MPH on four-lane roads and the Interstate, or over 75 MPH on two lane roads or highways.

The fees, which take start in January, is expected to raise an extra $23 million dollars that will be used to upgrade the trauma centers and emergency rooms throughout the state.

According to reports, Georgia trauma centers and emergency rooms spend over $170 million dollars per year on uncompensated care.

“I believe we can not only help fund trauma care through increased fines, but we can also reduce the heavy burden on our state’s emergency rooms,” Perdue said at a press conference.

Andre 3000 himself was arrested in march, when was caught driving his 2007 Porsche Carrera 109 MPH on Interstate 75, which has a speed limit of 65 MPH.

Benjamin bypassed a court appearance on April 29 and settled the matter by paying a $1200 dollar fine.

Alfamega: Y’all Ain’t Gonna Do S**t!

“Do you have something to say to Alfamega?”

I have written about snitching a few times in my day. Remember “21 Questions for Cam’ron” and “To Snitch or Not To Snitch,” from a few years ago?

Everybody is talking about Alfamega now!

For those living in a dungeon, thesmokinggun.com somehow unearthed ancient court documents suggesting that the “Grand Hustle Muscle” received a shorter sentence for serving as a Drug Enforcement Administration informant and government witness in a high profile case against a drug dealer.

Now, that that’s out, I am interested in knowing what “The Streets” or Street-Hop plans to do about it.

Hmmmmmm…let me answer that…..NOTHING!

Lets just get this one thing clear.

People can talk and talk and talk and talk…and talk. But, when its all said and done, nobody out there is principled enough to do anything to Alfamega about his “snitching.” I’ve made it clear that I am not “that dude” that abides by the rules of the streets. I don’t commit crimes and don’t really run with those that do. So, I steer clear of trouble these days so I am never put in a “snitchy” situation. That’s me. But a lot of you feel like, “punishment is death” if you even walk into a courtroom.

As for you tough talking typers and talkers, what are YOU going to do about Mr. Mega, since he did such a horrific act? I mean, the comments are so aggressive.

Here are some of the remarks seen online:

“where’s my glove so i can off this snitch”

“rappers got ho-like qualities. Half these rappers is snitches”

“i like him but a snitch is a snitch.”

“I was feeling the music I heard from him too. Turns out he the FEDS b####. Alfamega is a street n#### and he got skills but I can’t f### with him no more.”

“Grand Hustle is full of snitches, first T.I. now this clown…fake thug no love you get the slug CB4 Gusto.”

As for me, I propose this:

If you walk up to Alfamega, with no cops around you and video tape yourself calling him a snitch to his face; I’ll give you a large sum of money. This is the catch…you can’t snitch.

Ahh…that just made myself laugh.

The purpose for this post is, most people are enamored by what they believe to be a “code.” These days, most people don’t live by such code and aren’t truly interested in enforcing it either. Obviously, they can sit on the sidelines and throw eggs from behind a large tree and run away…but they aren’t really going to do anything. For all intent and purposes, there are innumerable people that should have been banished from Hip-Hop for these so-called violations.

This sort of reminds me of The Game when he was on that dating show and everybody was calling him fake. It made me think. Yes, he did some things in the past. But the man before you now is something other than what you all saw then. These days, he’ll knock you the f**k out!

As far as I am concerned, Alfamega is the real deal. Here is a dose of truth:

Here is the second part of this posting. Be wary of media that has no real interest in your community. I am not saying that Alfamega is a shining role model or that he didn’t testify for a lighter sentence, but there is something to be said about a 10-plus year old matter suddenly popping up at this time. It just smells strange, almost as if somebody is trying to further destroy/de-mystify/erode Hip-Hop’s street foundation. I could be wrong and that’s certainly a different editorial.

Lastly, I am most interested in knowing what T.I. plans to do with Alfamega since he’s the head of the Grand Hustle label and has his own Street PR issues to contend with.

As for the rest of you, you’ll do nothing but cower under Alfamega’s mountainous shadow.

Most of you are not built like that and seek haven in the safety of your PC.

Here is some Alfamega to jam to as you type!

Alfamega Ft Rick Ross,Bun-B & T.I – “Uh Huh (Remix)”

Alfamega – “My Window”

TI – “Hurt” (Ft. Alfamega and Busta Rhymes)

Alfamega Feat Busta Rhymes – “Head Banger”

Alfamega – “If I Die Tonight”

Hate It or Love It: Cam’ron’s Concert Getup

We’ve seen Cam’ron confidently infiltrate the colors pink and purple into his wardrobe with fur jackets and jerseys, among other signature looks that added a certain flash to his classic Harlem style.

He performed at the Highline Ballroom in NYC Monday night, rocking this getup.

Cam’ron in NYC last night

Cam’ron came out with his Dipset classics like “Oh Boy”, and “Get Em Girls” as well as joints off his new album, like “I Used To Get It In Ohio.”

After two years that consisted of drama with 50 Cent and Jim Jones, he dropped his much anticipated new album yesterday, Crime Pays.

Do you dig Cam’ron, and will you buy his new album?

Back to the first question – what do you think about his style game at the show?

Why Lil Wayne Didn’t Diss 50 Cent, Baby Explains

Bryan “Baby” Williams has explained why his “son” Lil Wayne opted not to respond to the numerous taunts by rapper 50 Cent.

“We got money man,” Baby said, in an online interview, which had no specific date. “We on islands and jets f***ing hoes. We ain’t trippin’ off petty s**t. We got money. Ain’t ever a dark day in my life, why won’t I go spend $250 (thousand) right now, I’ll burn that b***h…We just did a deal for a $100 mil, we got money for real. It ain’t no game. We ain’t got time for bullsh*t.”

The co-founder of Cash Money Records said that he and his crew have seen their share of drama and have not desire for it now.

“We been through the wars, I got scars from wars. Get with that anytime, but lets get with this money s**t, that’s what’s up…Me and my son are rich for real, that’s why I won’t entertain bulls**t,” he continued. “Today, I’m the only n***a in the industry, me, my son and my brother (Ronald “Slim” Williams) that own everything, nobody owns nothing. We 100 percent in this b***h, we make more than they make.”

Lil Wayne has never completely engaged 50 Cent’s aggressive moves, but he has referenced his want-to-be adversary.

“A person like 50 Cent (can) say anything about me, you gotta understand, that’s what makes them who they are. So me getting mad, that would be outta Lil Wayne’s character,” Wayne said in a 2007 interview. “There’s been plenty of recorders right here in my face saying, What you think about such-and-such saying…? Nothing! I don’t think nothing! That ain’t me, I’m from New Orleans, man, we kill, for real, I’m not gonna stress that.”

50 Cent has mocked Lil Wayne for a number of years, eventually settled into his current fracas with Rick Ross.

Lil Wayne is preparing the release of Rebirth, his new rock-flavored album.

Rappers Consult Flick About 15-Year-Old Drug Kingpin

Bay Area rap stars Too $hort, E-40 and MC Hammer have been tapped to serve as consultants on the upcoming docu-drama film, Weight.

Weight is based on the life story of one of Oakland’s youngest drug kingpins, Darryl “Lil’ D” Reed, who took control of the local drug trade after the incarceration of Felix “The Cat” Mitchell.

The flick is executive produced by Todd “Hollywood G.” Graham, who said the rappers have been utilized to keep the “authenticity of the project.”

Lil D, who was featured on an episode of BET’s American Gangster series, is infamous for his role in controlling the Oakland drug market in the last 1980’s.

By the time he was 18, he was making millions of dollars, but by the time he was 21, he was facing a lengthy prison sentence on federal drug dealing charges.

Lil D was eventually sentenced to 35 years in prison under mandatory minimum federal guidelines and he is currently still incarcerated, having served 20.

While the movie has yet to find a director, casting is currently underway.

Representatives for the project told AllHipHop.com that Weight is due for a theatrical release in Spring/Summer of 2010.

Hip-Hip Rumors: Kanye Gets His Gal Back! Rick Ross New Reveal! Illseed Keeps It Alfamega Real!

DISCLAIMER:

All content within this section is pure rumor and generally have no factual info outside of what the streets have whispered in our ear. Read on.

THE DAILY TWO SENSE

I, like you, am wondering…what’s up with that Alfamega stuff? Uhm…That’s all I have to say about it. I know this for sure. I’m not making any negative comments about that brother! He’s still 6′ 4″ and knocks people out with a slap. LOL! I have to admit, I am stunned, but just be wary of the media that has no vested interest in our culture.

Moving on.

The Swine Flu. What do you think of that? There are some that think it is a man-made virus and we are all presently being tested to see how we react. Click here if you want to get the full video and editorial

TRICK DADDY GOES OFF ON RICK ROSS!

I got this from Angela Yee:

“OK, Trick Daddy just went off on Rick Ross. I’m sure you’ll all be hearing this soon. I’m a little stunned.”

WOW. I mean, there as been some constant friction between these guys for a few years now, but its really coming to a head at this point. I don’t know what Ross did recently to set him off, but I do know that he didn’t like the “Lupus” rap on the Deeper than Rap album. Ross didn’t diss Trick, but he mostly said that somebody foolishly thought Trick had AIDS. Oh well, I guess we will see how this pans out.

MURS DISSES RICK ROSS?

Does everybody here know who Murs is? Well, Murs is a dope underground sorta guy that is from California. I cannot verify this and I have no video to support it, but I have details that lead me to believe something is there.

Yo illseed, what’s up. Last Thursday one of the illseed intel insiders was at a Tech N9ne and Murs concert in Bellingham, WA. Bellingham is a small college town right by the Canadian border and there were about 600 people in this small club. Murs yelled out to cut the music and allegedly said he doesn’t appreciate “fake rappers,” especially a certain one right now. He reportedly said Rick Ross stole his beat for Ross’ song “biggest boss thus far” or whatever that song is called, I don’t know. Murs then ripped Ross apart in about a two minute long freestlye talking about how fake he is. I realized that Murs didn’t appreciate Ross rapping over his beat. He spit over Ross’ “I’m the biggest boss that you heard thus far.” I can’t call the song right now. LOL…

D4L SHOOTING?

I don’t know must of anything D4L is doing these days, but I heard a crazy rumor. I heard that the crew or somebody at their studio was involved in a shooting of some sort. The details are scant, but if you know something, hit me up at al*************@***il.com. I don’t think anybody was hurt though so that’s a good thing.

SHOUT OUT TO KANYE WEST…GOT HIS GIRL BACK!

ILLSEED’S QUICKIES

Rumor has it Cam’ron has a series of skits on his new album that are purportedly dissing haters. These “haters” just happen to use a lot of the phrases of some of his former friends in Dip. I wonder if he’s jabbing at the homies? Pause!

Doctors reportedly want Michael Jackson to eat or he’ll never make it through his UK show in July. SMH.

Oh boy. Pause. But Rick Ross reportedly wears sunglasses when he is “doing the do” with a young lady. “I’ve had sex in my shades, sometimes I wear my clear ones. A lot of ladies compliment my eyelashes so I don’t want people to see them, I’m shy, so wear my shades all the time. I never told nobody that before.” OK.

Speaking of Ross, Deeper Than Rap has sold over 51,000 copies in its second week out.

It sounds like 50 Cent is redoing his whole album or at least most of it.

I don’t know if you know who Trent Reznor is, but he’s definitely got a bangin’ finance – all respect to him! Check her out here.

FAKE TONI BRAXTON GOES DOWN

MAN, they don’t play over in Suriname, a small, poor South American country. A singer named Trina Johnson-Finn has been jailed for trying to pawn herself off as singer Toni Braxton! Trina says she was going over there to just do a tribute to the American super star. But she has been reportedly jerked by a con man of a promoter who pushed this as actually Toni Braxton. He also charged all those porr people about $53 to see a fraud! Well, Trina hit that stage and they knew she wasn’t it. They heard her and threw stuff at her before she could get to the third song! She goes to trial on May 26 over this BS. I think the people of Suriname need to get over it, get a refund and let Trina Johnson-Finn go home. Maybe Toni needs to come do a free show or a paid show..sheeesh

SIGNS THE WORLD IS COMING TO AN END

Somebody ht me up and asked me to stop the “Signs,” but I cannot do that. I have to give some traces of reality in the midst of all this BS rumor stuff. I must say, I got one doozie today and it is a reminder that we have to do some serious soul searching as a people or…WRAP CITY! Tampa! What’s going on? A 21-year-old man got into a fight with his ex girl friend. And guess what he did? He took her 3-month year old son and threw him on a highway. What is wrong with these people!? He was inside of his ex’s apt and they got into a fight and this maniac started beating her and the kid. Well, the fool then took the baby and threw the child on the concrete. After doing that, he snatched the kid, drove off in his Chevy and then tossed the kid as he sped off. A photographer saw the babybody on the side of the road and called the police. He said the baby died and its eyes were open. The accused murder’s name is Richard A. McTear Jr. and the child he tossed wasn’t even his. He killed another person’s child. He’s been charged with burglary with a battery, felony battery, aggravated child abuse and kidnapping. This dude has a rap sheet longer than DMX, man. I hope he gets upgraded to murder on those charges.

EPIC FAIL OF THE DAY

SMH at this clown! What is your life worth? A Brooklyn man has been charged with murder for choking a female friend with his bare hands. Why would he do such a thing, you might ask. The female was allegedly spreading bad rumors about him on MySpace, police say. The man stepped to the girl at her crib in West Brighton, NY and accused a pair of women about lying on him. Some of these rumors included that he was cheating on his girlfriend. Well, things fell apart when he got physical. The man took a hair dryer cord, wrapped it around her neck and squeezed until she was dead, cops say. She was found the next day and arrested Monday. WOW. Was it worth all that? FREAKIN FAIL!

EPIC WIN OF THE DAY

General Steele: Welcome To Buck Town

A general is a leader.  Someone who surveys the landscape, develops and implements strategy and sets a battle plan in motion.  As one half of Bucktown’s finest duo, Smif N Wessun, General Steele has big plans. His solo album Welcome To Bucktown is both a departure from his Smif N Wesson material, and a renewal of that Brooklyn grit and grime that you know and love. But there is more to Steele than just album promotion. AllHipHop sat down with the general to talk about  responsibility, skill, and the Bootcamp/Duck Down legacy. Sit back and salute.AllHipHop.com:

Your album almost feels like a love letter to Brooklyn. How has Brooklyn inspired

or contributed to your music?

General

Steele: Being born and bred in the County of Kings, being the borough

of very rich culture, very diverse ethnic background, heavy Caribbean influence

and being born in the70’s, I was influenced by the soul. That was when Brooklyn

really started getting poppin’.

If you’re familiar at all with an Oakland, or San

Francisco and these towns where they explode and they became heavily populated

just by common people regular folks.  It

was really close to home ground and for me, I see a lot of good, I see a lot of

bad. Coming up, I was blessed to be introduced to this Hip-Hop thing. I promise

you man I didn’t really think that, you know, I want to grow up and be this rap

cat; it just worked out in that way. I feel blessed. So, it’s only right that

you tell the story of what you experience.

I haven’t heard that, but I’m glad you put it that way,

I mean I’m gonna use that if you don’t mind. A love letter to Brooklyn?

Absolutely, that’s exactly what it is because I do love the borough. I also

love the neighboring boroughs as well because without the neighboring boroughs Brooklyn

wouldn’t stand out so great. We do our thing. A tree grows in Brooklyn and I

have to salute the place that gave me birth and exposed me to the world.

AllHipHop.com:

How much harder is it holding down a solo album than it is a Smif N Wessun

Album? Are the mechanics and the thought process different?

Steele:

The mechanics are no different doing a solo project because I started out as a

solo artist. When I started as a solo artist, Tek was my homie. He was just my

partner in crime already.  Later on, because

we hung out so thoroughly, I wanted to have a partner. But you know, before I was

a solo artist I was in a group. I’ll show you a picture, this is an exclusive,

nobody’s ever seen this. I was in a group with my brother Chase. He started me

in rapping. He was like you going to be my partner. We gone have matching ‘Benzes,

we gonna have matching limos, everything’s  gonna be black and gold. He loved Rakim. [shows

picture] This ain’t even on my MySpace. AllHipHop exclusive.

Tek was my partner beforehand, me and the homie decided

to go other ways, and I was like you[Chase] got me started, I’mma stay with

it.  It felt natural.  Growing up in Brooklyn, you always had that

survival tactic in your mind, like what can I do to fit in? But it’s no way I could

do this without my partner, my PNC and without my Boot Camp.

When we started, Tek and Ruck are two of the pickiest

Boot Campians, two of the pickiest rap cats period. Not even rap cats, two of

the pickiest dudes I know. So to get them involved was a challenge for me. I

went to family first and I needed my family involved and they blessed me with

the best. It wasn’t gonna feel right without having them involved. Of course I wanted

to tell my ode to Brooklyn, through the General’s  eyes, but all the things I’ve learned is

inclusive of what I have experienced with my brothers.

AllHipHop.com:

As

an emcee, what do you consider your main strengths?

Steele:

My main strength as an emcee is I know how to read.  A lot of rappers can’t read and if you can’t

read you can’t write. Not saying that some people don’t write… if you can’t write

you gotta do the rain man and  or kinda

just mumble rap and come with it. Then there are some people who are like James

Baldwin, or like Langston Hughes. We write it down, we document it…Mumia Abu

Jamaal, we document it, we are writers.

video platform

video management

I was thinking about that today when I was coming from

the store. I’m not a battle rapper. I’m not gonna get out there and talk about

how I’m gonna demolish you with the rhyme. I’m gonna be a scholar. I’m gonna be

a teacher, a student, a soldier.  I’m

gonna be a comrade. I’m gonna be your friend, your homie; the common

denominator. I think my consciousness, as far as that, helps me as well as

Smif N Wessun and Boot Camp sustain.

Sean Price is the funny guy in the Boot Camp, so why

not be funny on rap? They call me the good reverend, so why not take you there?

I’m gonna take you through the mind travel part of it. Tek is gonna put it

right in front of you. We gotta know how to blend those things so my strength is

just being a general, and wanting to preserve that position by doing what a

soldier does, doing the work for the team and making sure at the end of the

day, if the work is done, you say, “Good job. Salute soldier. B###!”

AllHipHop.com: Do

you think rappers have a higher level of responsibility in times like this?

Steele:

Just do your part. Go talk to some kids in the hood. Keep them out of the

stupid s**t out there. Rap breeds a lot of ignorance too so we gotta play our

part. We are role models. Big up to those rappers that be taking care of the

community; taking care of the hood and spending money out in the hood. I ain’t

gonna name names, Ya’ll know who ya’ll are. Salute. The General knows.

AllHIpHop.com:

What is the difference between the original Duck Down, Boot Camp run and the

current one?

Steele:

The current one with Duck Down is expanding. A couple years ago, one of Dru Ha’s

friends told him he needed to give it up because he only had Boot Camp, because

he only putting out Sean Price; because he was only putting out Smif N Wessun,

Black Moon. It was a continuous cipher and people outside thought that it wasn’t

no growth.

But we was building the foundation. We was working on

solidifying the foundation, so if we were to expand, we can have something to

stand on. A lot of independent artist labels are gone. When we originally would

go to sign to distribution labels, they had artists there that took precedence

over us even having a meeting with them.

So Dru, sticking it out, and saying we have to expand; we have to build

this foundation. And then the artists involved, going through the game and the frustration

and sustaining, being able to say we have the foundation. Boot Camp got an

album right now. Smif N Wessun is working on an album right now. Heltah Skeltah

D.I.R.T. album in stores right now, if you haven’t heard it get from under that

rock and go get that; it is the incredible rap team for real.

So now when you add on a B Real? Wow! That’s just

classic. How did that happen? I don’t know but I’m happy. DJ Revolution,

another California, L.A. resident. How does Boot Camp East Coast keep mingling

with these West Coast guys? Because it’s Hip-Hop; we are an expansive culture.

We are not a culture meant to just be on this corner. There’s corners in every

state. As we start going to places you might see a Buckshot hooking up with a 9th

Wonder or a Sean Price hooking up with a 9th Wonder and the album

they put out is gonna be phenomenal.

It’s only right that after all these years in the game,

Duck Down has to expand. It’s a natural progression because if you love what

you do you’re going to work to advance. You’re not gonna want to be a cashier

at McDonald’s forever. Hopefully you’ll aspire to move up. Duck Down is in a

good place. Big Up to Torae and Marco Polo.

Not to mention KRS-1. Forget about it KRS-1 and

Buckshot. Wait till you hear the Buckshot KRS-! And Mary J Blige song. Duck Down

is in the building. Doing your work, being consistent and showing appreciation

for the fans for supporting us all these years.

Teairra Mari: This Is Me Now

There’s a reassured calmness about Teairra Mari as

she prepares to reintroduce herself to the world. Like a shooting star, she

illuminated the R&B scene with her sparkling debut, Roc-A-Fella Presents: Teairra Mari. The Detroit native’s 2005 ladies

anthem, “Make Her Feel Good,” climbed to 23 on the Billboard charts. It seemed

all was well with the world until the doe-eyed songstress got a call from Def

Jam that she’d been dropped. Suddenly, the lights flickered and slowly faded to

black. Teairra returned home to regroup and kept focused on making music, but

something was missing. It was her drive.

While she stayed in the recording booth, the notion of starting

all over was as daunting as it was draining. While former labelmates Rihanna

and Ne-Yo catapulted into stardom, Teairra was forced to pick up the pieces and

make them fit again. She eventually connected with producer Cudda Love, who

reignited her hustling spirit by channeling their creative energy. With a sound

that’s more refined, Teairra is back with a flashy new video, “Cause A Scene”

and a sophomore album slated for the summer. AllHipHop.com caught up with

Teairra Mari to reflect on her journey and celebrate her rebirth with At

That Point (Warner

Bros./Fo’Reel Entertainment).

AllHipHop.com Alternatives: It’s been four years since you’ve been on

the music scene. How have you been preparing for your comeback?

Teairra Mari:  I was just getting my mental right. When I first

got released from Def Jam I was like in a state of depression. So I got back on

my feet and moved from Detroit to L.A. got some sun in my life and I’ve been

recording nonstop.

AllHipHop.com

Alternatives:  Rihanna and Ne-Yo

seem to have gotten a different kind of support from Def Jam. Do you feel there

was disconnect between you and the label?

Teairra

Mari: I didn’t even know there was

an issue to be honest with you. That’s why I was so baffled when I was released

because I didn’t know where it came from. Still to this day, I just think it

was a business decision. I think we all got the same support and it was just

their time. There was nothing I could do about it and it was what it was. They

put so much money into the album and when it didn’t sell, it was cleanup time,

and unfortunately I got let go.

AllHipHop.com Alternatives: You had to have walked away from Def

Jam with a lot of insight. What was the hardest lesson for you?

Teairra

Mari: I walked away with so many.

The biggest one is to keep good people around that have been with me from day

one. They’ll tell you like it is whether you’re wrong or right. I didn’t do

that when I was at Def Jam. I closed a lot of people out of my life and that

was a big mistake and a huge lesson for me; one of many.

AllHipHop.com Alternatives: Jay-Z was really a mentor to you. What’s

the best advice he’s given you? And do you have any for Melanie Fiona, the new

R&B Princess of The Roc?

Teairra

Mari: It was some of the most

cliché advice but it was so true: to work hard because hard work pays off. He’s

a living walking example of hard work and what it can do for you. Just staying

focused and not caring what other people think or have to say. Once you do that

and make your own choices, life is a lot easier.  It’s no stress when you don’t think about the outside world.

And to Melanie, have fun.

AllHipHop.com Alternatives: You were very vocal in King about your disappointment in Jay-Z and the

Rihanna rumors. Have they reached out to you since then?

Teairra

Mari: No I haven’t heard from

anybody. People have come to me like Jay isn’t too pleased with some of your

interviews, but I won’t believe that until I hear it from him. It’s all love

and I am going to be graceful about the situation. I would never be rude or

bitter towards anyone from that period in my life.

AllHipHop.com Alternatives: What got you motivated to try again

after the setbacks?

Teairra

Mari: Getting that old thing back.

I had to go home and realize Def Jam isn’t going to make or break my drive. I

had to get home and get the right people in my ear like come on Teairra! So I

was like you know what, let me get off my butt and get out the funk and go do

what I’ve always wanted to do.

AllHipHop.com Alternatives: How did you end up at Warner Bros/Fo’

Reel Entertainment? Why was that situation a good fit for you?

Teairra

Mari:  A friend of mine put me in touch with Cudda Love

and said he wanted to meet with me. So he flew me out to L.A., we recorded, and

the chemistry was great! Also, he’s like a fighter. He could be told no twenty

different times, and he’ll still keep knocking on the same door.  That’s the kind of energy I needed for

my sophomore album. Then I just felt Warner was the best situation for me. Now

that I have the experience under my belt I can step up more.

AllHipHop.com Alternatives:

How has your sound changed? How would you describe the vibe of At That Point?

Teairra

Mari: I think my vocal range has

definitely grown and the tone of my voice is more experienced. The content on

the album is more things that I’ve been through personally. The last album had

more things that I’d seen other people go through. I have a lot of mid-tempo

but it’s really a good balance of all things. I have your love songs on there,

dance songs and all.

AllHipHop.com Alternatives:

Which artists and producers did you work with on the project?

Teairra

Mari: I worked with The Runners, Mad Scientist, The

Movement and Rico Love, who executive produced the album. He’s an extraordinary

writer. I also worked with up-and-coming producers from Miami, Jackpot

music.  Artist wise, I featured

Pleasure P, Flo Rida, Rick Ross, Kanye West and Nicki Minaj.

AllHipHop.com Alternatives:

What was the most challenging part about making your sophomore album? The R

& B climate is a bit different now.

Teairra

Mari: You have people out now that

are not afraid to speak their mind, so I’m enjoying that. Because that was my

thing, I said what I wanted to say and how I felt and if a curse word or two came

out then hey! The biggest challenge was finding a niche and a sound that was

consistent. I used to go home every day from the studio like this is not it

this is not it, getting discouraged at times. But of course I kept going. I am

a resilient woman and I found the sound.

AllHipHop.com Alternatives:

Blogs have become more popular while you’ve been away. What’s the funniest

rumor you’ve heard about yourself?

Teairra

Mari: That’s a tough one! I hear

all these dating rumors, so the silliest ones have probably been those. Like,

why are you linking me to this person? I won’t say any names. But it’s funny to

me. I’m single and loving it.

AllHipHop.com Alternatives:

Your album title, At That Point,

is very significant. Where are you at in your personal journey?

Teairra Mari: It’s like the conclusion of the ups and downs in my career. I was

going around in circles and now I am finally at that point of no return –

a point of comfort in my own shoes. I’m not searching for Teairra anymore. I’m

at that point.
