50 Cent To Executive Produce & Act In ‘Free Agents’ Sports Thriller

The Queens native is adding another feature film to his IMDb profile.

Hip Hop representative Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson has established himself as an important player in Hollywood. The “In da Club” hitmaker is one of the key people behind the television programs Power on Starz and For Life on ABC.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, 50 Cent will also star in and executive produce the forthcoming sports heist thriller Free Agents. Veteran filmmaker Deon Taylor (Meet the Blacks, Black and Blue) will direct the movie. Taylor also wrote the script along with Joe Bockol.

Free Agents is a Lionsgate production. The American-Canadian company is the parent corporation of Starz which is home to 50 Cent’s Power franchise. The G-Unit founder will play a professional football linebacker who leads a group of players in a plot to steal from the team owners.

“50 has been legendary in all ways I have been extremely impressed by his amazing energy on screen and his ability to light up every scene he is in,” said Deon Taylor. “I truly believe this extremely complex role will truly allow the world to understand just how unbelievably talented 50 is as an artist.”

Previously, 50 Cent starred in other motion pictures such as Get Rich or Die Tryin’, Before I Self Destruct, All Things Fall Apart, Southpaw, and Den of Thieves. His music discography consists of albums like Get Rich or Die Tryin’, The Massacre, Curtis, and Before I Self Destruct as well as singles like “21 Questions” featuring Nate Dogg and “Candy Shop” featuring Olivia.
