Dave Chappelle lit up the stage in Jamaica with an unexpected performance of “Bam Bam” alongside British singer Estelle and reggae star Kranium during DJ Trauma’s fifth annual Trauma Unit Retreat, turning a laid-back night into a viral celebration of music and comedy.
The surprise moment unfolded during the retreat’s dancehall show, where Chappelle jumped into the spotlight, singing and dancing with Estelle and Kranium to the reggae classic.
“Something special happened in Jamaica!!!!” DJ Trauma wrote on Instagram, sharing a clip of the performance. “Sometimes you can’t plan for this type of magic to happen. We were blessed to have greatness at the retreat, having downtime, having fun!!!”

The event, held in Jamaica, is part of DJ Trauma’s annual gathering that blends music, culture and relaxation.
Chappelle, who has worked with DJ Trauma for years, was seen fully immersed in the festivities, even participating in a dancehall soundclash.
Social media users couldn’t get enough of the moment, calling it “only in Jamaica!” and praising the blend of reggae, comedy and star power.
Chappelle’s appearance in Jamaica comes as he gears up for the fifth year of his “Summer Camp” comedy series in Yellow Springs, Ohio.
The 2025 edition is set to run across three weekends in July and August, continuing the tradition of phone-free shows that began during the pandemic.
