Jazmine Sullivan's New Album Reality Show Available For Stream

R&B songstress Jazmine Sullivan makes her long-awaited return with her third album Reality Show. This comes after a little over three years away from the spotlight. The follow-up to her 2010’s Love Me Back doesn’t arrive officially until Jan. 13, but the entire album is available to stream via Complex. The project features production from Salaam Remi, Da Internz, Key Wane, Chuck Harmony, and DJ Dahi. The album features 12 tracks leading with the Meek Mill assisted “Dumb” and “Mascara.” Her single “Let It Burn” even contains an After 7 “Ready Or Not” sample.

“I’m really proud of it. I worked harder on this album than any album,” the Philly songbird told Rap-Up TV. “I put a lot of pressure on myself ’cause I haven’t been out in so long. But don’t expect the sad songs of the past. “The songs are really colorful, just about life in general and reality from my eyes.”

Stream her Reality Show album below and pre-order it on iTunes.

Boxer Andre Ward Signs With Jay Z's Roc Nation Sports

Jay Z’s Roc Nation Sports management company has added another athlete tot heir roster. Boxer Andre Ward has reportedly signed on with the company’s boxing division.

“We have signed Andre Ward and it’s something we’re very excited about,” David Itskowitch, chief operating officer of Roc Nation Sports’ boxing division, told ESPN. “It’s just the beginning for us but it’s a game-changer. He’s one of the best fighters in the world.”

Ward has only had two fights in the last three years due to battling with Goossen Promotions to be released from his contract with them. Since he has not been in the ring much, Itskowitch says that Roc Nation will be working closely with Ward to prepare him to be a top competitor in the boxing world.

“We’re going to sit down and talk about when he will specifically fight and the level of opponent he will fight,” Itskowitch said. “He’s been out of the ring for a while. We’ll come up with names and come up with a date but we’re excited to give him the opportunity to show he’s one of the best in the world.”

The date of Ward’s first fight has not been determined. He won his last match in November of 2013 against middleweight boxer Edwin Rodriguez.

Roc Nation Sports will be promoting their first fight tonight (Jan.9) at New York City’s Madison Square Garden, which will be headlined by Dusty Hernandez-Harrison and Tommy Rainone.

Eric Garner's Daughter Has Choice Words For Grand Jury On New Song, 'This Ends Today'

As the Garner family continues to mourn the loss of Eric Garner, his daughter Erica has decided to sing through the pain on a track dedicated to her father. On “This Ends Today,” Erica sings and raps for the first time to channel the hurt and anger she feels about the grand jury’s decision to not indict the NYPD officer who killed Garner with an illegal chokehold in July of 2014.

“To the grand jury I have a bone to pick/The decision that they made really made me sick,” rhymed Erica.

Eric Garner’s brother Steven Flagg, who serves as the song’s producer, also rapped with Erica on the track and had a few choice words for the grand jury.

“The grand jury lost their minds/it’s time for an appeal/If Eric was family they would know how it feels,” rapped Flagg.

The track features audio from Al Sharpton’s eulogy that he gave at Garner’s funeral. Lend your ear below.

Bill Cosby Jokes About Sexual Assault Allegations; Vivica A. Fox Defends Him (VIDEO)

Actress Vivica A. Fox is the latest woman to support Bill Cosby in the midst of his sexual assault scandal.

During an appearance on The Meredith Vieira Show, Fox voiced her view on the situation and said that she will continue to support the comedian, who has been accused of sexual assault by over two dozen women.

“I worked on the Cosby show and was honored to do the show” Fox said. “The man I met was nothing like the man they are describing. He was nice, kind, there was no sexual overtones or anything so I defend him and I stand by him as well, too.”

Phylicia Rashad and Jill Scott have also come to Cosby’s defense during this difficult time.

Cosby has yet to comment on the allegations but during a show in Canada last night (Jan. 8), he joked about the allegations that have been destroying his legacy.

When a woman got up during the show, Cosby asked her where she was going and when she said she was going to get a drink she asked if he wanted one. After he said no, he jokingly told her “You have to be careful about drinking around me.” The crowd surprisingly laughed.

Though one man had to be escorted out for shouting “You’re a rapist” and the woman whom he joked with ended up leaving, Cosby got a standing ovation at the end of the show.

Hip-Hop Rumors: R. Kelly Says Nobody Can Play Him

We’re still recovering from that terrible Aaliyah biopic that aired on Lifetime a few months back and now R. Kelly is finally chiming on his feelings regarding his character.

When asked about the movie on The Big Tigger Show, Kelly replied:

““You asked me this question. I didn’t know you was gonna ask me that. Listen, I didn’t watch that. Once they said they was making a movie and somebody was gon’ be playing me? Can’t nobody play me, homie.

You got to know me to play me. You don’t know me, you can’t play me. It’s impossible. So why should I watch something….that’s not real? When I’m real.”

Childish Gambino – "Sober"

Following the release of his Kauai EP back in October, Childish Gambino drops the video for “Sober” directed by Hiro Murai. “Sober” which is a favorite from the EP, takes place in a diner where Childish Gambino tries to creepishly get the attention of a young lady he has his eye on.  There’s a lot of weird dancing and awkward moments which makes this video pretty entertaining but all is well that ends well, right?

Check out Childish Gambino’s “Sober” video below.

Director Riley Robbins, keeps the visuals pretty simple with shots from across Memphis and in-studio sessions.

Maryland Man Plans To Sue Snoop Dogg Over Instagram Post

If you follow Snoop Dogg on Instagram, it’s obvious that he enjoys positing funny memes, sometimes at the expense of others (Hi Iggy).  Now, he has been hit with a lawsuit because of it.

Last week, Snoop posted a picture of a man with relaxed hair and manicured eyebrows with the question, “Whose auntcle is this?” implying that he looked like both a woman and a man.

The man in the picture, Cortez Booze of Maryland, saw the picture and was less than thrilled about Snoop posting a pic of him for laughs. Booze told TMZ that the picture caused people to throw a slew of hateful slurs at him on IG, including shemale, ugly, f—-t and punk along with many other comments.

Booze says he reported the picture as inappropriate to the folks at IG but it wasn’t taken down in a timely manner. The post is now deleted but he now has a lawyer and plans to take the Dogg Pound rep to court.

PREMIERE: Karega Bailey – "Sunny Days"

There’s not many voices in Hip-Hop right now that are as commanding, as Karega Bailey. Born in Brooklyn, Bailey’s parents emigrated from Jamaica and relocated to Sacramento when he was a child. Now, the award-winning spoken word poet, D.C. educator, and politically minded emcee is eager to spread his message to the masses.

Endorsed by Public Enemy’s, Chuck D on his online rap station, ‘Songs That Mean Something,’ Bailey is definitely on rap’s radar. His forthcoming extended player, Peace King, drops at the end of January. In anticipation of the release, Bailey is pleased to unveil the visuals for “Sunny Days,” the EP’s fifth track. Produced by EOM, and directed by JaeSynth, the video features Cali-based emcees, Mark Knoxx and Chaycin Change, and boasts Malcolm Stokes on the trumpet.

“They crucify the truth, but yo, I’m here to resurrect…I spit the truth and nothing less,” raps Bailey. Whether he’s addressing the civil unrest in Ferguson, Missouri or his brother’s recent passing, Bailey is here to provide the much needed healing that the nation needs through the power of his music.

EXCLUSIVE: A Tribe Called Quest's Ali Shaheed Addresses Lil Wayne's Controversial Membership With The Zulu Nation

(AllHipHop News) Q-Tip’s announcement that Lil Wayne joined the Universal Zulu Nation was met with shock, confusion, and in some cases outrage. Tip spoke about Weezy and other new members joining the Afrika Bambaataa formed organization, saying he and 9th Wonder were attempting to “put a stronghold out there, so that we can be active and not just be angry.”

In an exclusive interview, AllHipHop.com asked Q-Tip’s fellow A Tribe Called Quest member Ali Shaheed Muhammad about the latest high-profile additions to the Zulu Nation like Wayne, Nas, and Big Boi. The “CPR” performer proclaims the new Zulu brothers represent a move toward uniting the community, instead of dividing it.

“There’s obviously been some controversy to a couple of the brothers you mentioned. There’s a ‘Why?’ But why not? We have to stop using these divisive tools to prevent us from understanding we all come from the same place,” says Ali. “There may be a difference of opinions. There may be some areas of criticism that’s necessary to help align us a little better so it’s more harmonious, but you have to start somewhere. You can’t do it by having people in different corners of the world not talking to each other.”

According to Ali, more unexpected names may soon be associated with the Universal Zulu Nation as well. He also adds the movement will grow beyond just Hip Hop artists.

“It’s only a matter of time that people will understand. They look around and see what’s not working within their life. They’re seeing all the success and all the things that come with it, and there’s still something missing from a human spirit perspective,” Ali explains. “The principles of the Zulu Nation is built on – it answers a lot of those questions from a spiritual perspective that unites humanity, not just Hip Hop. Different genres meld together under the Universal Zulu Nation. So not only will you see more people from Hip Hop – and I won’t put any names out there –  but also abstract personas you would not see as part of it. I definitely think you’re going to see more of that.”

AllHipHop.com previously reported The Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon is expected to be inducted as an “Honorary Member” through a chapter led by Zulu Nation’s Minister Of Information Quadeer “M.C. Spice” Shakur. Q-Tip has also revealed Pro Era’s Joey Bada$$ and Indiana emcee Freddie Gibbs have recently joined the UZN as well.

During his Q&A, Ali Shaheed Muhammad also discussed his new Eric Garner inspired single, working with Adrian Younge on a full collaborative project, and possible 2015 reunions for his groups A Tribe Called Quest and Lucy Pearl.

Kanye West Parody Account Causes Twitter Users To Believe New Song With Drake Is On The Way

(AllHipHop News) Kanye West started off his 2015 by releasing a track featuring Beatles great Paul McCartney, so it is not really a surprise that fans would believe Ye was teaming back up with another huge star for a new song. That is exactly what happened when a Kanye parody account posted a tweet claiming a Yeezy, Drake, and The Weeknd collaboration was on the way.

[ALSO READ: Could More Music From Kanye West & Paul McCartney Be On The Way? (POLL)]

Despite the fact @Kanyewset is not a certified account (and his name is spelled wrong), the user’s fake message was retweeted over 1000 times, and many other Twitter followers began tweeting about the alleged Kanye/Drake collab.

The topic then began trending. Some online media sites even picked up the story as factual, but as of press time the alleged song has not been confirmed by a reliable source.

This is the latest incident involving social media promoting an inaccurate news item about Kanye. Last year the New York Times had to run a correction for an article that used a fake quote from the rapper/producer. In 2013, Ye was blasted online over a fabricated story from the satirical website The Daily Currant.

Joey Bada$$ Responds To White House Investigation Into Malia Obama's "Pro Era" Photo

(AllHipHop News) When the world saw First Daughter Malia Obama rocking a Pro Era t-shirt, it was almost like an unofficial presidential endorsement for the Brooklyn based Hip Hop crew. But according to Gawker, the White House is now trying to find out how that picture of the 16-year-old made its way to the Internet.

A representative for P.E. front man Joey Bada$$ told the website the photo was provided by a “mutual friend” of Malia and someone in the group. The pic then ended up on the proera47 Instagram page.

First Lady Michelle Obama has been very protective of her daughters’ presence online. She reportedly only allows Malia to use Facebook, and her sister Sasha is prevented from using social media platforms.

Joey took to Twitter to respond to the reported investigation. The “Teach Me” rhymer sent more love to Malia before addressing the White House.
