(AllHipHop News) Wu-Tang Clan’s RZA will attempt to defend his title at the Hip-Hop Chess Federation’s 8-person Chess Kings Invitational celebrity tournament. It will be held as part of a high level jiu jitsu tournament called KO Finisher. Portions of the ticket sales will help HHCF expand into Los Angeles.

“This event will help get HHCF the funds to start to after school programs in South Central Los Angeles. I have chosen Santee High School as one, and the other will be determined by RZA, our Director of Outreach,” stated HHCF founder Adisa “The Bishop” Banjoko. “The HHCF is grateful to Kurt Osiander, Nick Greene and everybody at the KO Finisher for allowing us to join forces. Together we will showcase the beautiful fusion of jiu jitsu, chess and non-violence to the planet.”

The showcase will feature appearances by Dilated Peoples’ Rakaa Iriscience, Mike Relm, DJ Rob Flow, and Quadir Lateef. There will also be a presentation on the philosophical connections between chess and jiu jitsu.

A Mind Over Matter Panel discussion about how Hip Hop, chess, and martial arts can lead American youth to unity, strategy and nonviolence will take place as well. The panel will include RZA, chess masters, martial arts masters, and educators.

RZA won the first HHCF championship in 2007. The legendary producer/emcee is ready to compete for the title once again.
