(AllHipHop News) After two decades in the spotlight, superproducer Pharrell Williams has crafted a signature production sound that can heard on albums by Jay Z, Justin Timberlake, Pusha T, Snoop Dogg, Robin Thicke, Daft Punk, and countless others.

  • Papi Peligro

Next you going to say he has like 6 songs about happy.

  • Executive

    Beast.

  • Reblogged this on HUEY mix wit RILEY.

  • The Legendary Troll

like hes the only producer to do this…..

  • BIG MIKE SOMETHING SERIOUS

We use to get beats like Danger, now we get happy.

    • so?

      • BIG MIKE SOMETHING SERIOUS

        What?

    • Arrie Mental Woodard

pharrell still makes bangers, happy is one song.

      • BIG MIKE SOMETHING SERIOUS

        Use too.

    • Yeah, but watch Happy with the Soul train dancers….that ‘chet is Fiyah!

      /watch?v=a7Yu93s_WhY

      • BIG MIKE SOMETHING SERIOUS

OK, Sounded a lot funkier, But even now u put Danger on (clean version), n my momma will start dancing. His beat use to be funkier & Soulful.. Hear people talking bout his beat, but not his album. JMO!

      • He has an ear, he started out Hip hop though.

      • BIG MIKE SOMETHING SERIOUS

Don’t get me wrong, I think he’s a dope producer, just hate when producers crossover, because fame won;t let them come back.LOL!

      • Yeah, Hip Hop is like boxing, you have to be hungry.
One thing in his favor though, he was always a wierdo, so it’s not like he sold out or is fake, et., like many of the top dawgs.

        He’s just a wierdo!

        A cool wierdo though!

      • BIG MIKE SOMETHING SERIOUS

Remember True to the game By Ice Cube, and Crossover, by EPMD, Guess I’m gonna wait Timberland. Premier, and Dr Dre, see if they push the culture with some new beats. Once u crossover the record company boxed u in. Music becomes Stagnated, dull , boring, lifeless.

      • Of course Teddy!

Anthems back in the Golden era!

“The HeadBanger! WAHHHAAAT! The HeadBanger! WAHHHAAAT!”

      • BIG MIKE SOMETHING SERIOUS

The excitement in your reply prove my point. how music suppose to move you. Somebody please save hip hop???

      • Hip Hop is good…..but RAP is fugged up in the game.

      • BIG MIKE SOMETHING SERIOUS

        My Bad! LOL.

      • Hip Hop will never die.
Ninjaz in prison making beats with their hands, feet, cell walls and bars…while spitting a sick flow, developed from reading dictionaries & theosoruses ( *<< If that is even a word? ) and making up new words in the process.

Some of, no, all of our early TOP MC's were thorough, but the industry took their traits, everything EXCEPT master rhyming skills, and made those traits, the standard for a good RAPPER.

Not saying the top RAPPERS can't flow, they just rely more on marketing & promotion, than actual MC skills.

  • MrNoName2K

Not the first and definitely wont be the last.. cant front, Pharrell be doin his thing though. I remember what that “Mr. Me Too” beat was on everyone and they momma mixtape

  • Kinda neat …its such a common thing that I never really even noticed it.

  • johnblacksad

    and this constitutes news? smh…
What about every rapper beginning every song with the same vocal signature?

    • Sampling is considered WRITING?

  • atlantahiphopshop

The biggest thief in hip hop today and ever. Boo this man!!!!!! The equipment basically makes for a 4 count out the box. SMH

    • smh its called samplin

    • ILLAmusic

Do you know anything about production? Most producers have a signature sound/technique to make it recognizable. And no, the biggest thiefs are the people posting “free beats get at me”, all they do is download a premade loop pack and put it together. At least pharrell is making his own sounds, melodies, drum patterns, etc.

      • atlantahiphopshop

I know a lot about it. I play instruments as well. For the record, he does not make any sounds that are his own, ever. Like Quincy says, You new MF’s wouldnt know a b note if it hit you in the face. Desktop Producers. Pharrell steals from common people like you and me, idiot! Get off his d!ck, the dude is a thief. Stole from a lot of friends of mine, and is paying for it. SMH This generation has no innovation, No wonder music sucks! Defending this clown! And Im gonna keep it real with you, I was IN NY in 79 when hip hop hit and I never thought I would have to answer to a white dude or anyone outside of black for that matter, about rap music. GTFOH!!!! For real! People like you are the ones F*cking up the music.

      • kristin

        ROTFLMAO Tell him again.

      • Arrie Mental Woodard

so you mad at all sample based music? is that what you are saying?

      • atlantahiphopshop

If you dont pay for the clearance, yes. If you do not acknowledge you are using someone elses hard working idea and track, hell yes! What about you? Would you like it if he took your ideas and “sampled” it and called it his own?

      • Arrie Mental Woodard

i understand you’re argument but so much good music has been made from sampling. to be honest i dont know how i would feel…. i guess both yes and no….

      • jam

MUSIC IS THE WORD YOU USE, BUT DO YOU KNOW THE MEANING OF IT? HOW DOES RACE HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH MUSIC, IF ANYTHING IT IS THE BIGGEST BRIDGE TO CONNECT CULTURES AND GIVE THEM SOMETHING IN COMMON TO LOVE AND TALK ABOUT. YOUR ISSUE IS WITH THE AGE OF THE KIDS TODAY MAKING SOME OF THE MUSIC THAT YOU DONT APPRECIATE(WHICH I DONT GENERALLY LIKE AS WELL THERE ARE SOME GOOD ONES LEFT AND COMING UP STILL JUST GOTTA LOOK ALITTLE HARDER). IN 1979 WHEN YOU WERE IN NEW YORK THERE WAS A OLDER DUDE SAYING THE SAME THING YOU ARE ABOUT WHAT YOU GREW UP LOVING. AND ANY KID UNDER 25 THAT GREW UP IN NEW YORK IN MIXED SCHOOLS AND ENVIROMENTS GREW UP WITH BLACK KIDS SPANISH KIDS WHITE KIDS ALL AS FRIENDS AND RAP MUSIC WAS ALL OUR MUSIC AS LONG AS I CAN REMEMBER THATS ALL I KNOW SO DONT BLAME THE KIDS OR MAKE IT A WHITE ISSUE BECAUSE THAT IS YOUR CORE BUYER AND SUPPORT OF THIS MUSIC AND MAKES IT POSSIBLE FOR RAPPER TO TAKE IT TO THE LEVEL THEY HAVE! RESPECT&LOVE ALL

      • atlantahiphopshop

Honestly, There were hardly no white people even thinking about rap in 1979. This was pre-Rick Rubin. White people thought rap was ignorant jungle noise. PuertoRicans were like blacks to me, still are, the only difference is, PuertoRicans had their own Salsa music as well, and they did then, and still do now defend it proudly. No One is trying to imitate Juan Gonzalez though. LMAO Italians, Anglos, Irish and Jews were not digging rap anywhere I went, and they sure as hell wasnt producing hip hop .LMAO. I don’t know where this “Mystical Rap World” exists you speak of. White radio proudly announced they were NO RAP EVER at that time.

Before rap music, they literally burned all the disco records and killed the music proudly, because they had no rhythm and hated the way white kids were acting black at all the discotechs and on the records, Dancing like monkeys and sh!t. The same way they hated Rock N Roll and called it the black devil music before they stole it. The same way they hated Jazz and called it the black voodoo music before they stole it. The same way they hated Blues and called it jigaboo music before they stole it. Go to a blues concert, ALL WHITE. This is not new homey, IT JUST WONT HAPPEN AGAIN! LMAO Check your history before you come all Gandhi at me homey.

I can barely read your rant because it is in all caps, fix that, and stop building accounts to say what you think you know. You are wrong sir. Take it to what level? F*ck Yo Levels! (In Rick James Voice)
        South Bronx, Im out..

      • Elayorx El

Wow fam. I had to sign in just to give it to you on this one. What you posted reminded me of some of the lessons my Pops gave me, trying to show me when I was little much of which you spoke of. Like the radio station thing. WOW!! I can hear them now on those promo station ID sound bytes(I came up in NY/NJ), proclaiming proudly like you said how they DO NOT PLAY HIP-HOP(RAP) MUSIC!!! I won’t say what stations, but yes, if one is a true participant of the culture, this should not sit well with them at all, especially with people making comments about how “whites” buy most of the music, which I’m not sure I even believe. I’m sorry, but if it is not obvious to anyone with half a brain, and one quarter of the use of one eye at this point, that once the potency of the “product” becomes diluted, and that it loses it’s “original” essence because of this, then there is really nothing left to discuss with those people. Thank you for the reminder. AWESOME POST!

      • ILLAmusic

I’m gonna keep it real with you…it’s 2014! If you we’re old enough to give a shit in 79 you gotta be what, 50?. Why is your old ass doing commenting on blogs? Especially if you hate it. That’s what a sour bitch does g

      • atlantahiphopshop

I was 6 and my dad was a working club dj at the time.Music is my life, hence the reason you got blasted. Yeah, Im about Pharell and Jay and Chuck D and Scarface etc.’s age and like I said before Its dudes like you F*cking up the game! You see what happened in 2014 to the sales of hip hop records fool? Keep it real with yourself, You are a guest to this mess and Im on Blog’s like this because I am Hip Hop clown, to the death! Thats how I know you know NOTHING about Hip Hop, If you did, you would know that EVEN YOU would still be doing it in your 50’s.To offset your bullsh!t I must venture to these sites from time to time.GTFOH!

      • ILLAmusic

I’m a guest? Guess what, I didn’t ask for your welcoming! You bitter bitch. FOH with that bullshit.

      • atlantahiphopshop

I knew you would say that. People turn to insults when they have nothing else to say in their defense. Be Gone! You cant handle this site? This is THE Most Dangerous SIte. GTFOH B-Rad! I wont even read your next response because you are irrelevant, tell it to your mom’s upstairs.

      • ILLAmusic

No I tried to write an actual response to your Original comment but apparently allhiphop won’t allow an intelligent well worded response and denied my comments 4 times…so i went with plan b. And who started the insults here genius?

      • ILLAmusic

List what you have done for hip hop since I’m irrelevent. Tell us all why you should be hailed as the god of rap you claim to be. I’ll be waiting

      • hiphopgods

We can answer that for you. He is one of the pioneers of Hip Hop and his dad is one of the originators. Be careful who you diss.

      • ILLAmusic

I’m dissing someone by responding to a rascist remark? Ok ok…that makes sense. And I don’t care who he is…I’m not going to respect someone thats a dick…period. done with this nonsense. Peace

      • ILLAmusic

If this pioneer would like to have an intelligent grown up conversation cool, but all I see is an angry man blogging anonymously and throwing rascist remarks at people…I wasn’t raised with any of that shit so yea I’m gonna say something back. And is a third party really needed to speak on his behalf?

      • ILLAmusic

So since I’m only a guest I would like to know who this pioneer is so I make sure I don’t support him or anyone around him…I mean he wouldn’t want my money or support right? I’ve seen the comments made by both of you on this site…I see the agenda you pushing and want no parts of the hatred. So please, enlighten me to this pioneer so I can throw away any CD’s/vinyl of his as quickly as possible

      • ILLAmusic

Ok so you believe enough in your ideals to bash people…but not enough to say who’s behind it. I get it, whatever makes you feel better. Saddens me to know that someone I would have listened to growing up (if they’re are pioneer as you state) would feel this way about some of his fans…while at the same time not willing to allow those fans the choice of not listening by saying who he/you/they are.

      • ILLAmusic

Wow allhiphop will not allow me to reply to a racist comment!

    • ILLAmusic

Plus it’s an easy way to do an intro…not like he’s stealing anything

    • TimeWillTellu1

The smear campaign runs high with this one.

    • When did you start listening to rap? Last week?

  • Pingback: Almost Every Pharrell Williams Track Begins The Same : Hood Hustle Enterprises()

  • Whats wrong with you AHH guys?
Let Pharrell start his songs like he wants.
Almost all music is a 4/4 beat so its very
common to start on each of the first 4
    quarters.

    • When did they say it was anything wrong with it?

      • How many songs did Pharrell produce in his career?
Several hundreds? And the headline implies almost
every track begins the same. Just because some
guy found 13 matches. This is enough for AHH to
take this as a given that almost every track begins
the same. In other words they want to stress dude
        lacks creativity.

    • We Rock Crew

No one said he couldnt do what he wants, People are saying “this is news”? You are a real lame.

So this is done a lot. You can do an 8 count. It is up to the producers and artist discretion. You actually made an article about this. This is not news worthy. This is bs! Where is the hiphop news worthy in this article. Chuck I question your credibility. You putting out more wack articles because you approve this bullsh*t! Besides this site I say the best hiphopsite now is Undergroundhiphop and hiphopdx. They never put this bs on their sites. It is pure raw hiphop and nothing else.
