Angie Stone P##### At VH1’s Snub Of Her Hip-Hop Group

ANGIE STONE IS P#####!

(AllHipHop News) R&B singer Angie Stone is upset with VH1’s ‘Hip Hop Honors,” claiming the awards show unjustly snubbed her 1970’s Hip-Hop group from the lineup.

Angie Stone was a member of the all female trio The Sequence, best known for their 1979 song “Funk You Up” which was released on the legendary Sugar Hill Records imprint.

“They’re honoring ‘female’ Hip Hop legends,” an angry Angie Stone told the AJC. “We definitely should have been included in the celebration this year for sure!”

This year, VH1’s “Hip Hop Honors” pays tribute to the ladies in Hip-Hop. Missy Elliott, Foxy Brown, Lil Kim, Trina, Salt-n-Pepa, Queen Latifah and a host of others artists will be honored during the event, which takes place tomorrow (July 11) at the David Geffen Hall at Lincoln Center in New York City.
