Koch Records has signed Brooklyn-based Hip-Hop label Fat Beats to a physical and digital distribution deal.

Fat Beats, which was established in 1994, originally launched as a record store, but soon turned into a critically acclaimed record label, releasing projects from artists like Atmosphere, Edo G. & Pete Rock, Afu Ru, Krs-One and others.

Under the new agreement, Koch will distribute releases from the labels catalog, as well as future releases.

"We’re very excited to be working with Fat Beats as Koch continues to strengthen our roster. Fat Beats’ successful brand of true underground hip hop will further strengthen our status as the No.1 physical and digital supplier of urban music," said Michael Rosenberg, President of Koch Entertainment Distribution.

New albums in the works from Fat Beats/Koch union include albums by Black Milk, Akrobatik and a Wu-Tang Clan cover album by El Michels.

"I’m happy to be back with Koch and I’m looking forward to advancing the label even farther with this new deal," added Joseph Abajian, President and owner of Fat Beats Records.
