50 Cent Speaks on Relationship with Floyd Mayweather, Says Floyd “Ducked Manny”

50 CENT SAYS FLOYD MAYWEATHER “DUCKED” MANNY IN THE $100 MILLION FIGHT!!!!

(AllHipHop News) Today (February 28th) Jamaica Queens bred rapper Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson joined ESPN’s First Take to talk about the upcoming Friday Night Fights on March 1 set to air on ESPN, for which his company SMS is a partner in the fight.

Joining a long list of rappers that have participated in the show’s debate, 50 Cent weighed in on SMS Promotions’ sponsored fight at the MGM Grand in Foxwoods in which SMS’s Billy “The Kid” Dib will attempt to defend his IBF Featherweight title against Cuban Olympian and the IBF’s number 3 ranked boxer, Luis Franco.

“I’m excited about it, you know Billy Dib and his opponent, its been a collaboration with Top Rank a lot and I’ve been able to make a good actual relationship with them through communications of trying to do the Manny Pacquiao vs. Floyd fight. And then the negotiations of acquiring Yuriorkis Gamboa from Top Rank, so you know after the communications got a little fuzzy between me and Floyd for a little while, I went back to communicating Todd Debarr from Barbarum to make these actual events happen and its been good ever since.”

When asked about the issues revolving around his relationship with Floyd and how he would characterize his relationship with Floyd, 50 said Floyd is was a  person that “flip-flops.”

“Well it’s just who Floyd is. You know he’ll just flip-flop from time to time and its just who he is.  Like his father was like around and was the house trainer for the actual gym we had, so Roger trained him for about 17 years and then he decided he wanted his father around, so Roger was around and then he decided wanted Roger back and his father was around,”

In regards to his relationship with Floyd Mayweather and if the two are actually still friends, 50 Cent explained that yes he was still friends with Floyd despite fighting through his perceived imperfection in Floyd’s character.

“Yea, I mean well if you friends with someone you have to accept their imperfections right? And Floyd is just one of those people that is just going to flip-flop, and he has a lot going on emotionally coming from being incarcerated.  60 days wouldn’t be a lot for people who experienced those things before, but for him it was a traumatic experience and I can’t wait to see how he performs following that because he still hasn’t fought,” 50 Cent said when asked if he was still friends with Floyd Mayweather.

Also while on the show 50 Cent weighed in on the $100 million fight and whether or not Floyd “ducked” Manny Pacquiao.

“Yes, he did duck the fight, that’s $100 million and you just left it,” 50 Cent explained. “I mean for two reasons – I think he concentrates  on how much someone else is getting paid as opposed to how much he’s getting paid and then I think he kind of sees himself in a space that no one else sees himself in, like he’s so high on top of it that he shouldn’t give some of other great fighters a chance to be in that position at this point.

Floyd has yet to comment on 50 Cent’s comments, more news as details emerge.
