One method Tidal is using to help foster direct relationships between up-and-coming performers and their growing fan base is Tidal Rising. Latin American Hip Hop Artist C-Kan has become one of the most recent acts to take advantage of the program. The Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico native recorded a 3-part series which is now streaming on Tidal.

“The Tidal team recently joined me in Guadalajara for a shoot focusing on what I’ve experienced, what I see every day, my music,” says C-Kan. “It’s a really powerful experience to show the world, my world. I want my fans to see what I’m all about.”

C-Kan, born Jose Luis Maldonado Ramos, started gaining traction on YouTube. He has since amassed over 1 million subscribers and 500 million views on Vevo. The video for “Vuelve” is currently sitting at 67 million views.

The 26-year-old rhymer’s most recent Spanish album Clasificación C, Vol. 2 was released in March. Tidal Rising is now further expanding C-Kan’s reach to English-speaking audiences.

“My Mastered Trax crew puts their heart and soul into all that we do, and Tidal has been able to shine a light on our work,” C-Kan adds. “The Tidal Rising program is a great opportunity for artists. I want everyone to know how incredible all the artists and producers I work with are – my clique does amazing work.”
