XXXTentacion Makes It Home From Prison For The Holiday

(AllHipHop News) Rapper XXXTentacion caught a break and will be released from prison in time for the holiday.

XXXTentacion is facing 15 felony charges, stemming from a series of violent altercations with his ex-girlfriend.

He was charged with additional crimes, after he contacted his ex, in an attempt to persuade her to drop domestic violence assault charges against him.

On December 15th, a judge ordered XXXTentacion straight to prison, for violating the terms of his bond.

But a judge gave the rapper a break earlier today (December 20) and is allowing XXXTentacion to remain under house arrest, as he prepares for his trial.

According to TMZ.com XXXTentacion will be allowed to honor his contractual obligations and visit a local recording studio.

However, he was barred from having any contact with his accuser.

According to his lawyers David Bogenschutz, XXXTentacion plans to get the house arrest condition lifted after 60 days, as he prepares for his trial.

Professor Griff Feels Russell Simmons Is The Real Public Enemy

By Rico Panacea (@RicoPanacea)

(AllHipHop Rumors) Hip Hop mogul Russell Simmons has been in the news lately for his apparent alleged misconduct with women & rape allegations.

In an interview with the Murder Master Music Show**, Professor Griff**, the former Public Enemy member let his feelings about Russell Simmons and his alleged conduct be known.

“F-ck that bald-headed ass f-cking coward. He ain’t never been sh-t…..He wanted to take credit for signing Public Enemy which he didn’t. It was Rick that was interested in Public Enemy, not Russell. F-ck Russell…..Coward! Picking off girls and boys,” said Professor Griff.

These claims are startling seeing that Griff is a former Public Enemy member & the group was signed to Simmons’ Def Jam Records.

Griff even called Russ a bald headed coward that has never been about shhhhh!

He also made it clear that Simmons always tried to take credit for discovering Public Enemy, when it was really Rick Rubin that was interested in the group.

Professor Griff also says that Russell was apparently allegedly messing with “girls and boys”. Griff also took it a step further as he said that those that are being accused of sexual harassment and rape don’t even act like they are innocent through their own body language.

Only time will tell the outcomes of these allegations against Russell Simmons, but the one thing we do know is Professor Griff is not feeling the claims!

Rick Ross Wins Another Round In Lawsuit Against LMFAO

(AllHipHop News) Rapper Rick Ross’ copyright infringement lawsuit against LMFAO over their song “Party Rock Anthem” has been revived after a judge granted his appeal.

The hip-hop hitmaker launched legal action against dance music stars Redfoo and SkyBluin in 2014 over the highly-popular track, which featured the phrase “Everyday I’m shufflin’,” which Ross claimed was illegally derived from his line, “Everyday I’m hustlin’,” from his 2006 debut single “Hustlin’.”

Ross requested maximum statutory damages and an injunction against the 2011 party song for copyright infringement, but a judge ruled last year, he has no copyright protection for Hustlin’ due to poorly filed documents.

Ross reportedly made three separate copyright applications that were inconsistent and incomplete.

The case was subsequently dismissed but last month, Ross filed an appeal with the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit in Miami, Florida, claiming his copyright registration is still valid despite filing errors.

He argued he did not try to conceal or intentionally commit fraud when he filed the original copyright registration.

And now a judge at the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals has granted the rapper another chance to bring his case before a lower court.

Chris Webby Changes Lanes On His Second Project “Wednesday”

Independent hip-hop heavyweight, Chris Webby
looks to shed his party rapper image to become known for what he’s truly
always been; an accomplished businessman and lyricist.
In an effort to do so webby has decided to drop a brand new album today
entitled “Wednesday”. The project itself is a compilation of music he released
in 2017, along with a few new unreleased tracks,
to create the tracklist webby used analytics from his supporters, using their
responses, to depict the direction of the project essentially allowing them to
become the official A&R’s.

Appearances from artist like Rittz, Justina Valentine, Anoyd, Jitta on the track,
merkrules, madi wolf, skrizzly Adams and so on have also become very
instrumental in constructing the direction of the project, with each track
assisting in showcasing a new and improved version of Chris both musically
and mentally.

While it is true Chris Webby once had a stigma of only caring and rapping
about women, parties, and drugs, he’s since become politically active and
socially responsible, and has recently joined forces with the non-profit “1% for
the planet”, which will see to it that a piece of his yearly earnings is donated to
environmental causes.

He’s also ramped up the usage of his platform to call out the flaws in modern
day society, from the rise of mumble rappers to the morally corrupt politicians
who run the country.

However, as he’s changed so has his surroundings, deciding in 2016 to split
from his management team of almost 5 years. Starting the beginning of 2017
with an entirely new team, this abrupt change left him in a bit of disarray:
saying quote “I was depressed and wondered if my almost ten years of hard
work in the industry were for nothing. I felt completely lost,” but then I
remembered two things. first off, I have you … I still had a ride or die fan base
that believed in me. and secondly, I can rap. better than most.”

Chris pushed through the challenges of the change in management and in
March of 2017 launched his #webbywednesday series. where each
Wednesday, he releases a new song or video. this year alone, he has released
twenty-five songs and ten videos which birthed the release of his second
album “Wednesday”. on the recent album, webby demonstrates his diverse
style paired with witty east coast punchlines and melodic reggae influences.
From the start of 2017, #webbywednesday songs have amassed over thirty
million streams within the past ten months and continue to surge. His monthly
listeners continuously increasing to over six hundred thousand on Spotify. as
well as his average streams rising from fifty-two thousand to over one hundred
thousand a day.

With his new found success Chris webby has put his social life on hold,
focusing only on the music and business. saying quote “what you’ll hear on
Wednesday is only the beginning of webby 2.0,” in his letter to the fans.

He notes“ I finally feel like I’m becoming the musician, businessman, and human
being I was always meant to be. thank you all for accompanying me on this
bumpy ride, I honestly couldn’t have done it without you. and trust me, the
best is still yet to come.”

Cash Me Ousside “Rapper” Addresses Culture Appropriation Accusations

By Ne’ Richa

(AllHipHop Rumors) It looks like we’re not done “cashin’ her outside” anytime soon. Bhad Bhabie, who’s real name is Danielle Bregoli, always seems to find herself at the top of the headlines. Whether it’s due to her blunt point of views, or her attempt at Rap superstardom, somewhere you are bound to “cash” her defending herself.

This week, The Bhab decided to address those critics who feel as though she is appropriating the Hip Hop culture with her attitude and style.

She went on to state,

“You cannot act a color. Do not tell me I’m acting Black because I’m not”.

Some may agree that it is quite 20th Century is to assign a particular attitude and behavior to one race or ethnicity.

She went on to specify that,

“I get braids all the time, you can’t tell me I’m acting black because I braid my hair”.

The comments are ironic, considering that Bregoli shot to fame after a Dr. Phil appearance which gave us the infamous line “cash me ousside, howbowdah”.

It was clear even then that Bregoli had a style that was all her own. Whether it’s inspired by the Hip Hop culture, or the neighborhood in which she was raised, many would agree that it’s time to stop using colors as label, and just let people be who they are. Howbowdah?

Jhené Aiko Releases ‘2Fish’ Poetry Book

(AllHipHop News) Back in September, Jhené Aiko offered her “M.A.P.” mission statement which included the singer-songwriter announcing the Trip movie, the Trip album, and the 2Fish poetry book. The third installment of Aiko’s M.A.P. artistic endeavor is now available.

2Fish was released on December 19. The 144-page book offers a glimpse into Jhené’s artistic process through poems, sketches, and entries taken directly from journals she’s kept since she was 12 years old.

“Writing poetry has always been a form of therapy for me and has helped me get through difficult situations. When no one else understands, our journals can understand.” says Aiko.

She continues, “This M.A.P. was made by me, for me, but I feel obligated to share because I know I am not alone in my suffering… In sharing this MAP, I hope to inspire others to share their grief and pain because I believe suffering can be alleviated when we understand we are not going through any of it alone.”

In addition, Aiko plans to announce several international book signing events. Stops are expected to take place in Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York City, Paris, and London.

Maliibu Miitch is a Bronx native, and she’s spitting venom on mics for most of 2017. In my opinion, her flow, delivery and sensuality are all reminiscent of a up-and-coming Lil Kim.

(AllHipHop News) Will Smith is reportedly producing a biopic about Michael Jordan’s minor league baseball career. The NBA legend briefly retired from basketball in 1993 and went to play for the White Sox Double-A affiliate Birmingham Barons.

The Tracking Board reports:

In The Prospect, written by Ben Epstein, Michael Jordan uses a year as a baseball prospect to find himself after his father’s death. James R. Jordan Sr. was murdered by two men on the side of the highway in July 1993. In February 1994, four months after the first of his three retirements from the NBA, Michael Jordan signed a minor league contract with the Chicago White Sox.

The Prospect earned seven votes on Hollywood’s coveted 2017 Black List, a tally that presents the top un-produced screenplays from each year. According to TB, Smith is not expected to play Jordan in the movie.

FAQs

I had an account on the old Ill Community, what do I do now?

Your account has been imported. Just click here and punch in your email to activate it. We’ll send you an email to set a new password, and you’ll be good to go.

What if I see “email already in use?”

If that email is yours, just click “Forgot password?” on the login screen and you’ll get emailed a link to restore access.

What happened to my post count?

Your post count, join date, points and other info have all been preserved and imported into our new platform. It will take a few weeks before this is displayed in the user profile, hopefully sometime in January, so we appreciate your patience during the transition.

Where do I find the different rooms/forums?

You can click the 3 vertical dots at upper right, or use the “hamburger” menu – upper left on desktop, lower left on your phone.

What’s the difference between a “story” and a “conversation”?

Try it! Stories give you more opportunity for expression, formatting etc but take a little extra time to create. Conversations are quick and easy, just start typing. Both stories and conversations support images, embeds, links etc

Why is there no indenting?

The new format displays posts in a simple stream. Maven will be adding the ability to reply to posts in the middle of a conversation thread and eventually quote them as well. We don’t yet have a timeframe for this.

Will I know if someone replies to my post?

Yes, if you initiate a thread (“original poster”) you’ll get email notifications on replies.

Is there a way to “subscribe” and get notified about all new posts?

Sure – just click on any room, then the Options icon, then “Turn on notifications”. You can do the same with any particular story, using the ellipse (“…”) icon. And if you post a story or start a thread, you’ll automatically be notified about any replies.

That’s potentially a lot of email, so you may prefer to go the AHH home page and “Turn on story notifications”. That way you’ll get notified only on actual stories, not user conversations.

What about using an RSS reader?

Absolutely, see here for information.

Can I change my username?

No, your username is permanent. You may re-register with a different email if desired.

Can I include images and other embeds?

Yes, just paste the link, no embed code is required. We currently support Facebook (which includes Facebook video links), Twitter (including video), Youtube, Instagram, Soundcloud, Vimeo, Audiomack, MP3, JPG, GIF, PNG and more…

Do you have an app?

We have a great one for iOS, just click here from your iPhone.

An Android version is coming in the next couple months.

What about feature X or Y or Z?

We’re adding new features to the platform almost weekly, so stay tuned! And again thank you for your patience with this transition. It’s always hard to move to something different than you’re used to, but we firmly believe this is the right long-term move for AllHipHop.

Eminem Had To Learn How To Rap Again After Drug Addiction

(AllHipHop News) Eminem’s handlers were concerned his drug addiction hell had caused the star lasting “brain damage” because he almost forgot how to rap as he recorded his 2009 album Relapse.

The “Lose Yourself” hitmaker forced himself to kick his longtime substance abuse habit after suffering a near-fatal drug overdose in 2007, and got back into the studio to work on songs for the follow-up to 2004’s Encore.

However, Eminem was still trying to adjust to life without the use of prescription drugs and as such, he isn’t proud of any of the music he put out on Relapse.

“I certainly have not had a perfect career. I’ve put out bad albums,” he told Vulture . “Encore was mediocre, and with Relapse – it was the best I could do at that point in time. (Relapse) was a funny album for me because I was just starting back rapping after coming out of addiction.

“I was so scatterbrained that the people around me thought that I might have given myself brain damage. I was in this weird fog for months. Like, literally I wasn’t making sense; it had been so long since I’d done vocals without a ton of V##### (anxiety medication) and Vicodin (painkiller). I almost had to relearn how to rap.”

To mask his struggles, Eminem put on a string of odd accents for tunes on Relapse, and at first, his manager Paul Rosenberg was unaware of how strange it all sounded.

“I recorded at least 50 to 60 songs for that album and on each one I would get a little more drastic with the accents, trying to bend the words and make them rhyme in ways they wouldn’t if you just said them regular (sic),” the 45-year-old said. “It was this gradual thing and I didn’t even realize how accent-heavy the album got. Paul didn’t realize it either until he went and played the music for somebody at (his record label) Interscope and they were like, ‘Why is he doing all those accents?’ So yeah, I don’t know how much replay value that album has.”

Eminem was able to redeem himself with 2010’s Recovery, which won the Best Rap Album Grammy Award in 2011.

His eighth studio album, Revival, hit retailers on Friday (December 15).
