Beanie Sigel On Modern Rap Music: Ain’t Nobody Checking Nobody (VIDEO)

(AllHipHop News) With a catalog that includes The Truth, The Reason, and The B. Coming, Beanie Sigel is one of the most respected veterans in the history of Hip Hop culture.

The Philadelphia representative is currently working on his next project, but what does the emcee who built his reputation in the early 2000’s think about modern rap music?

Sigel did an interview with HipHopIsReal, and the Broad Street Bully shared his thoughts on today’s Hip Hop tunes.

“To me there’s no feeling in it. I love it when I’m in the club,” said Beans.

The 42-year-old wordsmith also stated those type of records are enjoyable in that public setting, but he prefers to listen to cuts by artists such as The Notorious B.I.G., 2Pac, and Scarface when he is alone.

“Two of the best that ever done it – Tupac and Biggie Smalls. They both died in their early twenties,” Sigel stated. “So you look at the rappers that are out now and the content of the music that they’re talking about, [they’re] in their twenties…”

He added, “You gotta say what you mean and mean what you say. And you gotta repeat it. That’s what’s wrong with stuff right now. Ain’t nobody checking nobody. It ain’t no repercussions for nothing.”

Miami’s South Beach Is About To Sizzle With The Opening Of King Of Diamonds

(AllHipHop News) A reality show centered around the famous gentlemen’s club King of Diamonds is coming to the Internet, according to a press release issued to the media this morning (June 24).

On July 4th, the famous King of Diamonds will partner with T.I. and his new V Live!, to open a massive gentlemen’s club in Miami – right on Ocean Drive.

In 2008, the first King of Diamonds opened in Miami Gardens, which is about a 40 minute drive from the action on South Beach. The new King of Diamonds is in walking distance from the Clevelander and Wet Willies.

The King of Diamonds on Ocean Drive is expected to benefit from the massive amount of foot traffic on Ocean Drive.

The Gentlemens club is owned by rapper Akinyele.

Until the opening of his world renowned King of Diamonds club, Ak was best known for the hit record “Put It In Your Mouth” and his legendary verse on Main Source’s “Live At The Barbeque” which featured a younger Nas.

Not only is Akinyele making Hip-Hop history by putting the first gentlemen’s club on Ocean Drive, but King of Diamonds is also the first black owned business on the strip as well.

“Our generation has spoken, and now we will be the first black owned club on Ocean Drive in the heart of South Beach,” Akinyele said in a press release.

The new web series will center around King of Diamonds and focuses specifically on the trials and tribulations of opening the club, managing the dancers and handling the patrons.

On any given day, you can catch an array of NFL, NBA and rap stars spending more cash in King of Diamond’s in one night, than the average ATM machine dispenses in an entire month.

There’s a reason why rappers like Rick Ross love to swoop in on private helicopters or pull up with a Brinks truck, just to spend millions of dollars inside of the club.

It is all because of the women.

King of Diamonds is known for its beautiful, curvy girls with their acrobatic tricks and the web series will introduce viewers to several of King of Diamonds’ most popular exotic dancers.

The trailers are expected to hit Internet on Monday according to the press release, while the web series will make its debut on July 4th, the same day the strip club opens.

Diabolic Releases Talib Kweli Diss Track “IneKwelity” (AUDIO); Kweli Responds

(AllHipHop News) Back in April, Diabolic and Talib Kweli got into a heated exchange on Twitter over white rappers and racism.

The argument was the byproduct of another back-and-forth between Remedy and Kweli over the Wu-Tang Clan affiliate questioning the Brooklyn emcee if he was “pro black, racist, or both.”

In response to his online conversations with Remedy, Diabolic, and also R.A. the Rugged Man, Kweli penned an essay titled “When ‘White Fragility’ Affects Rappers” about the situation and his views on white members of the Hip Hop community.

The Medium.com op-ed included the “Get By” rhymer writing:

[White people’s] Hip-Hop pass does not entitle you to intentionally participate in the silencing of black people who express black pain. This pass does not mean you no longer have the ability to say or do racist things. This pass does not mean that when you do engage in the silencing of black people, that you won’t be checked.”

The article also included Kweli addressing Diabolic directly:

If we are all in this profession together, we are supposed to show respect for our peers. If I’ve never met another rapper, I’m not going to troll him on Twitter. Even if I disagreed with something he tweeted, I would address it privately. Even if I felt the need to address publicly, I would do so with respect. Diabolic failed to do any of this. In the face of Diabolic’s blatant disrespect, I respectfully asked him to prove his accusations, more than once. Just like Remedy, he refused to, because he could not. They were lies.

Diabolic has now answered Kweli in the new diss record “IneKwelity.”

The song borrows from the hook of “Definition,” a song by the Talib Kweli and Mos Def group known as Black Star.

In addition, the track includes Diabolic responding to many of the points Kweli made in his Medium.com essay.

The Fightin’ Words album creator takes aim at the quality of Kweli’s recent music and supposedly bankrupting Rawkus Records as well.

“This entire thing is laughable to me and is why I chose to put it on record. The article in and of itself is proof of what I initially said, it’s all a generalization,” states Diabolic. “He took two guys who don’t know each other, put them together, and categorized them by the color of their skin. Could you imagine if I did that to him, the conversations we’d be having?”

The New York native adds, “I have thick skin, so after sitting with it for a couple days, I opted to abstain from giving this fuccboi a deserved ass whooping, and decided to do what I do best, and took it to wax to even the playing field. But lyrically the playing field between us could never be equal, hence the track title.”

Talib Kweli has responded to Diabolic’s diss record on Twitter. Read his tweets below.

Chris Brown Responds To Ex-Manager’s Beatdown Allegations

In response to a lawsuit filed against him by his ex-manager, Mike G, Chris Brown posted a couple videos, speaking erratically, to Instagram attempting to clear his name.

In the first video he rambles before claiming “n##### is getting’ mad and filing lawsuits cuz I fired them because they’re stealing money”, before wishing him luck. I’m going to assume the “n####” he’s referring to is Mike G. In the second video, he proclaims himself Mr Petty-pants then says he “won’t entertain this petty s###”.

Is Love & Hip Hop Atlanta Firing The Entire Cast?

Rumor has is that Love & Hip Hop Atlanta has plans to fire their entire cast and replace them with a more star-studded lineup.

Allegedly the producers on the show have been reaching out to all of Atlanta trying to get new cast members. The only problem is there is no real reason a “real celeb” would need to appear on the controversial reality show. Love & Hip Hop Atlanta will be filming the reunion on the 28-29th of this month.

We couldn’t imagine a cast without Stevie J, Joseline Hernandez the Puerto Rican Princess, and the new addition of crazy, Tommie.

Tommie took to Instagram earlier this month to share that she was allegedly banned from the reunion. Mona Scott-Young quickly shot down her claim. Would you watch the show if the entire cast is replaced?

Snoop In Battle With Toronto Maple Leafs Over Weed Logo

(AllHipHop News) Rapper Snoop Dogg is reportedly locked in a trademark infringement battle with bosses at Canadian hockey team the Toronto Maple Leafs over a weed logo.

The Gin & Juice star filed an application with the U.S. Trademark and Patent Office in November of 2015 for a logo for his marijuana products line Leafs By Snoop, but the design didn’t sit well with the ice hockey team’s chiefs.

Earlier this month, bosses at the Maple Leafs’ parent company, Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment, filed an opposition and asked for more time to detail their legal filings.

According to TSN.ca, the 44-year-old’s logo features white lettering over a seven-leaf green plant and closely resembles the Canadian ice hockey team’s logo.

Snoop Dogg, a well-known lover of weed, launched the company in Colorado, where recreational marijuana is legal, in November. The line features a range of cannabis flowers and concentrates in eight different strains.

The line, which will be stocked at licensed cannabis dispensary chain LivWell in Colorado, was hand-picked by the rapper, and the collection also features candy and chocolate bars infused with cannabis oil.

Demrick Links With Lil Debbie For New Song “Watch This”

Demrick and Lil Debbie stunt on their new single “Watch This.” This song is taken from Demrick’s forthcoming Collect Call album.

“I wanted to do something fun that I hadn’t experimented with before. The sample, heavy drums and cracking snares from Scoop had me pacing around the studio just freestyling rather than actual writing,” Demrick explained. “I went with complete vibes during the creation of that record, and didn’t want to take myself too seriously like most of my records in the past. Debbie and I had done something recently, and spoke about doing an actual collab. I felt a female perspective would be perfect for such a fun record, and the fact she is another artist who has independently established herself and music career catered to the concept of the song.”

Unification Will Determine The Best at 140 lbs For Boxers Terence Crawford And Viktor Postol

In what many are hoping will be a decisive yet competitive battle, undefeated junior welterweight boxing champions Terence Crawford (28-0, 20KOs) and Viktor Postol (28-0, 12KOs) will be facing each other in Las Vegas, Nevada at the MGM Grand Garden Arena on July 23, 2016 for a unification bout for the WBO and WBC World Super lightweight title.

The fight will be distributed live on HBO Pay Per View beginning at 9:00 pm ET/ 6:00 pm PT.

While both Postol and Crawford come into this fight with some impressive fights in the rearview and the unbeaten records to prove it, Crawford is by far the one who will be coming into the ring with the most shine and star power.

Postol, as an awkward but tricky boxer out of the Ukraine, suffers from a palpable  lack of recognizable names on his record.

Nevertheless one name that goes far when it comes to instant momentum and fan respect is Postol’s most recent KO win against tough veteran fighter Lucas Matthysse at The StubHub Center in Carson, California in 2015.

Given the manner in which Postol was able to dispatch with Matthysse and win the vacant WBC World super lightweight title in the bargain, it is fervent the hope of fans and matchmakers alike that Postol will prove to be the real test that has eluded Terence Crawford like clockwork  since 2013.

In a professional career that has been as masterful as it has been largely one sided, since winning the WBO NABO Lightweight title in June of 2013, Crawford has been an unstoppable force, mowing down a who’s who of professional boxing’s best and most skilled fighters in  virtuosic displays of dominance within whatever division he enters.

It only follows then that now, at the ripe age of 28, Crawford has already had the honor of being named both the Boxing Writers Association Of America’s Fighter Of Year and ESPN’s Fighter Of The Year in 2014.

And it would appear from the performances that got him there that Crawford has only just scratched the surface of his abilities.  As such, it would be nice if both Postol and Crawford are pleasantly surprised with some real character building opposition standing across the ring come July 23rd.

If the level of desire and hunger on the part of both fighters is any indicator, the possibility for action is high.  Team Crawford, coming out of Oklahoma and not having been a part of the more traditional boxing mystique that Postol now enjoys as a boxer trained under Hall of Fame trainer Freddie Roach, seems to have a bit of a chip on his shoulder despite his larger hoard of accolades and awards.

“We are about to show the world that I am indeed a better trainer than Postol’s trainer Freddie Roach,” stated Brian McIntyre, Crawford’s trainer and co-manager, hardly sounding like the trainer of a complacent champion.

Crawford, who generally likes to make his statement inside of the ring versus outside of it was more basic.

“This is a great opportunity to show the world I’m the best champion at 140,” said Crawford.”

As for Postol, as per Roach, it would seem that July 23rd their should definitely deliver a real battle between two diametrically opposed forces.

“This has Fight of the Year written all over it,” stated Freddie Roach, adding:  “For the second consecutive time Viktor will be involved in a world title tilt pitting the two best fighters in the division.  He’ll be ready.”

Hopefully for the fans, the combat will be up to s#### competitively.

Future Plans To Disrespect Some Rappers & Secure The Summer

Uh oh! Future has been telling fans for a while that summer ’16 will belong to him. Not only has the rapper expressed his plans to “secure” the summer, but he also says it may offend other rappers.

“Ion no how they gone take this new sh-t,I may b a lil toooo disrespectful on. Dis 1…f-ck it YALL DESERVE IT. t’s bout time..secure the summer,” tweeted Future.

We wonder is Future saying that he will be dissing a few folks on upcoming music, or will his next successful run be disrespectful to other rappers who have failed to “heat up” like him?

Chanel West Coast And Rockie Fresh Are Living “The Life”

Chanel West Coast has a new single out called “The Life” featuring Maybach Music Group (MMG) artist Rockie Fresh.

“The Life is a feel good song that I made to inspire others. I really wanted to do a song and music video where I showed my old life before I had some money and fame” Chanel West Coast explained. “I made ‘The Life’ to
inspire people that no matter what or where you come from if you focus and work hard you can make it to the top. You see me working at a Chinese restaurant in the video which was my first job in real life. ‘The Life’ was
made to show people that we can all come from nothing and make our way to the top if we focus and work hard. Rockie and I met a few years back when I was on tour and we stayed in contact and talked about collaborating. He
came to LA and came through to the studio and I had started on the song already and he was like ‘dope! This song is crazy! Let me get a verse on this one’ and then the magic happened. We came together to make a song
about living the dream.”

DJ Khaled Named Brand Ambassador For Rocawear Fall 2016 Campaign

(AllHipHop News) According to reports, DJ Khaled will be brand ambassador for Rocawear’s Fall 2016 campaign, an opportunity which the super producer is very thankful for.

In an interview with WWD, DJ Khaled went into details about being the new face of Rocawear, his upcoming album and more.

“I’m honored to be chosen,” DJ Khaled said about his job as  the new face of the Rocawear brand. “Growing up in the game, Rocawear has always been a major part of the culture and lifestyle of fashion and music, and that’s why this opportunity to be the face of the brand is important to me, and it feels great.”

According to Khaled, fashion is something that was engrained in him since his youth.

“I’m a superfan of fashion. My family always taught me to be fly,” DJ Khaled explained. “My dad wore suits on a Sunday, to a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. ”

DJ Khaled is currently working on his new album Major Keys, which the producer says will soon be set for a summer release. He also has a record ready to drop featuring Jay-Z and Future with an accompanying video already prepared for the single.

In addition, the producer is also slated to be one of the headliners for Jay-Z’s 2016 Made In America Festival.

EXCLUSIVE: A$AP Ferg On Working With Jim Jones, Being Inspired By Jay Z & A$AP Mob’s ‘Cozy Tapes’

(AllHipHop Features) Every year BET Awards weekend essentially serves as a large family reunion for the Black stars of music, television, movies, and sports. A central part of the 4-day extravaganza is the comedy and entertainment festival known as the BET Experience.

Fans in the Los Angeles area will get to take part in seminars, celebrity appearances, and performances from popular rappers. On June 25, Lil Wayne, 2 Chainz, Fetty Wap, Tory Lanez, Ty Dolla $ign, and Kodak Black are scheduled to run through their hits at the Staples Center.

The Saturday line-up for the BET Experience will also include a set by A$AP Ferg. This will be the first time the Harlem native shows his skills on his own at the annual L.A. event.

“I’m looking forward to the whole experience, just being there and running into old friends. I’m looking forward to hitting the stage,” Ferg tells AllHipHop.com. “I got the chance to do BET Experience one year with [A$AP] Rocky. This year I’m doing it myself, so it should be fun.”

Besides his inaugural solo show at the BET Experience, A$AP Ferg has a lot to celebrate in 2016. His latest studio album Always Strive And Prosper spawned the gym-ready single “New Level” featuring Future, debuted at number 8 on the Billboard 200, and became one of the best reviewed rap releases of the year so far.

The product of Manhattan’s Hamilton Heights is not done. A video for the Migos-assisted “Back Hurt” is already in the can, and Ferg’s “World Is Mine” with Big Sean has visuals on the way as well.

Then there is the long-awaited Cozy Tapes – the A$AP Mob musical effort inspired by the crew’s late de facto leader A$AP Yams. A$AP Rocky previously revealed fellow East Coast acts like Action Bronson, Pro Era, Flatbush Zombies, and Tanboys have been recruited for the collection.

While Ferg would not confirm the guests for Cozy Tapes, he has guaranteed the entire Mob will be present. He also suggests A$AP devotees should be on the look out for the project to arrive before the seasons change again.

“We just shot the album cover art. The music is pretty much done. It’s in the process of being mixed,” states Ferg. “I don’t have a date, but it should be out real soon.”

In the meantime, Ferg followers can continue to vibe out to Always Strive And Prosper or celebrate his hometown by getting lit to his contribution to “Harlem” by Jim Jones.

Ferg being tapped for the record off Jimmy’s The Kitchen album came two years after the Dipset member was quoted acknowledging the A$AP Mob while at the same time making it clear he was not co-signing any comparisons of the two camps.

“I’m not trying to disrespect them – A$AP Mob is doing it, they got their numbers and they’re doing what they like to do – but they’re nothing like the Diplomats,” Jones said in a 2014 XXL article. “They didn’t come up hanging and banging and hustling and really touching the pavement, ya dig? It’s a big difference. We don’t wear kilts and we don’t wear tight sweatpants and funny sneakers. That’s not our style.”

A$AP Yams fired back during a Tumblr Q&A. He called out Jones for “throwing shade.” In addition to affirming a Dipset and A$AP Mob collab would not happen anytime soon, Yams wrote, “I got love and respect for those who paved the way but don’t go online and say we not some street n-ggas.”

Ferg insists he and Jones have always been on good terms. In fact, the RCA recording artist claims he was not even aware of Capo’s comments about his team.

“I always had a good rapport with Jim. Even before I was rapping, we was doing business together,” explains Ferg. “He was actually trying to help me out with the belt business. I never had no problem with him, and I never heard him saying anything about the A$AP Mob.”

Their camaraderie seems to be genuine, considering the two Harlemites jelled so well together that the studio session also produced the track “Finesse.” The North meets South posse cut has verses from Brooklyn’s Desiigner and Atlanta’s Rich Homie Quan too.

“Mad artists just started popping up out of nowhere. Desiigner came from out of nowhere. Then Rich Homie Quan came upstairs. We all just started doing music together,” recalls Ferg about the night “Harlem” and “Finesse” were forged.

Could the world see additional Dipset and A$AP Mob musical alliances? Ferg answers, “Hell yeah! They’re from Harlem. Anybody from Harlem!”

That declaration of Uptown unity could include a buzzing Nas protégé from East Harlem. Mass Appeal signee Dave East secured Esco, Pusha T, Styles P, Jadakiss, and Mack Wilds for his breakout mixtape Hate Me Now, and an East/A$AP collaboration is a possibility.

“I f-ck with Dave East,” says Ferg. “I don’t know too much of his music besides the songs I hear on the radio, but he can rap. I want to support anybody that’s coming out of Harlem.”

As Ferg looks to help the rising talent from his section of NYC succeed, he is still absorbing gems from some of Hip Hop’s greats. The list of legends Ferg has had the chance to politick with consists of names such as Puff Daddy, Missy Elliott, Timbaland, and Pharrell Williams.

A certain 21-time Grammy winning rapper-turned-mogul is another industry veteran that has provided a blueprint for Ferg’s approach to following his artistic passion.

“Jay Z told me he still loves [rapping]. I could see that he loves it, therefore he’s very successful with it,” says Ferg. “So I feel like as long as I’m still loving it and I keep loving the game, I’ll be successful with it as well.”

Music is just one component of the A$AP Ferg brand. The 27-year-old New Yorker born Darold Ferguson, Jr. was building his entrepreneurial empire well before he was one of the top-tier rhymers of the 2010’s.

Ferg’s father owned a Harlem boutique, furthermore the elder Ferguson created shirts and logos for Bad Boy Records, Teddy Riley, Heavy D, Bell Biv DeVoe, and others.

Darold Jr. carried on the family tradition by launching his own Devoni Clothing in 2005. A decade later Ferg aligned with Adidas for the “Trap Lord x Adi-Ease” collection. Plus, the one-time art school student has an A GOLD E denim jeans line.

Fashion has been kind to A$AP Ferg, and he presses on in the field. However, the “Work” spitter is still centralizing his attention on the art form that allowed him to be a must catch attendee on the BET Awards red carpet.

“Right now, I’m just focusing on Trap Lord and Ferg Apparel merchandise. That’s what I’m going to be focusing on for the rest of the year. And just really focusing on this music. I feel like that’s where it’s at,” asserts Ferg. “Every designer wants to be a rapper. Every athlete wants to be a rapper. So I guess rap is the superior art, so I’m focusing on that.”

EXCLUSIVE: Boyce Watkins Talks Black Wealth, ‘Roots’ And Working With Dame Dash (VIDEO)

(AllHipHop News) Boyce Watkins is currently crisscrossing the country for the Black Economic Empowerment Tour. During his stop in New York City, the author and social commentator sat down with AllHipHop.com’s Chuck Creekmur to talk about hosts of topics.

The interview includes Watkins discussing the history of Black Wall Street, Hollywood’s attraction to slave movies, his conflicts with Lil Wayne & Tyler The Creator, the power of Black entertainers, and collaborating with Dame Dash.

“I think the biggest thing people get wrong [about Dash] – number 1, that he’s broke. he’s not broke. He is an entrepreneur that can end up cash strapped sometimes,” says Watkins. “Sometimes you can be very wealthy have no money at all. Sometimes you can be broke and have lots of money, lots of cash. People who get pay checks don’t understand that.”

He continued, “A lot of the people that get paychecks, a lot of us don’t own anything. Where as he owns a lot of things that are worth millions of dollars.”
