(AllHipHop News) Another lawsuit has been filed against a Dallas, Texas based promoter, who allegedly misrepresented himself as an agent for Young Jeezy and pocketed a $50,000 advance for a show. Three promoters named Chris Moreno, Sonny Manila and Roger Manila filed the lawsuit on December 13th, the Judicial District of Harris County, Texas. The lawsuit claims that Carlos Godspeed of Top Agent Booking represented himself as the official booking agent for Young Jeezy, who was supposed to perform at a Houston venue in 2008. Godspeed is accused of returning $23,000 of the $50,000 advance, leaving a balance of $27,000. The promoters claim that Godspeed has held the remaining $27,000 balance, as agreed. This is the second lawsuit filed against Carlos Godspeed in as many months. In September, Godspeed was named in a lawsuit claiming they took almost $50,000 to deliver rappers Drake and Ciara, who were never booked for the event in question.

10 years from now well still
be on top – Fourteen years ago Puff Daddy, now named Diddy, spoke
this over the classic track Mo Money Mo Problems. With his
latest release, Last Train to Paris,
he is reinventing himself yet again with his new group entitled, Diddy
Dirty Money. The group consists of Dawn Richard and Kalenna Harper.
Last Train to Paris is technically a Hip-Hop album however if
you are expecting it to sound like one prepare to shocked to reality.
With the #1 release of his last album,
Press Play, Diddy is clearly taking bigger chances with LT2P.
The album succeeds in creating a new sound unlike many being heard nowadays.
From first listen of the Intro it is apparent that the journey
of the next 16 tracks will be unlike much youve listened to this
year. LT2P won’t likely appeal the average backpacker Hip-
Hop fan, but if will probably please the casual music listener.
The album can almost be classified in its own genre the way Diddy
integrates Hip Hop, Techno, and Pop influences into a cohesive compilation
is admirable – but falls short slightly on certain tracks.
LT2P
containd songs that captivate and create chaos that Diddy relishes in. Songs like Yea Yea You Would and Coming Home
discuss the turbulent love life of a music mogul. Diddy and crew sonically explore everything from talking
to his children about life to being unlovable.
While he is Diddy the majority of the album, Sean Combs appears on many
tracks opening a door into his personal life. Looking for
Love one of the brightest tracks on the album. Usher carries the
song forward while Diddy supplies the backup well. Many of the
features on LT2P boast the featured artists more than
Diddy possibly calculated, but often poorly executed. Songs such
as the aforementioned Looking for Love and Yesterday featuring
Chris Brown seem as if they were created for the featured artists
albums but placed on Diddys instead. This is surely a pitfall;
taking away from what Diddy Dirty Money created causing the tracks feel
borrowed rather than organically grown.
While Dirty Money is indeed a group,
Diddy is the only member that seems significant. Dawn Richard
and Kalenna Harpers voices compliment every track, however Diddy
is the absolute nucleus. If LT2P
could be compared to a recent movie, its counterpart would be this years
release, The Town. Both succeed in explaining the
main character/proprietor of the project (Diddy and Ben Affleck respectively),
but failed to showcase the other major and relevant pieces in its creation.
Songs such as Hate You Now and I Know feature Dawn and Kalenna, but they feel underused and slightly insignificant to the overall piece. More Dawn and Kalenna would have boded well for LT2P.
Shades and Strobe
Lights feature a pre-jail Lil Wayne obviously verses
recorded a year in advance to this release. The topic surrounding
Shades still escapes this reviewer, however as a club track
it works greatly. Your Love seems to be one
of the few tracks, with a feature, that sounds like it is Dirty Moneys
song. The final song on the album, Loving You No More featuring
Drake, feels as if it was just thrown on for the Young Money feature. Coming
Home wouldve been a more fitting final track.
Diddy Dirty Money managed to create
a solid, entertaining album in LT2P.
It cannot be considered a great Hip-Hop album, rather a musically fusion
from all the top genres of music today. Diddy compiles a lot of
great voices and visionaries on this LP to create something which
will still be played months later. Many Hip-Hop fans will scoff
at this album so everybody won’t be aboard the last train. Diddy should have sufficient passengers on his caravan to lead him to another opus.
(AllHipHop News) As if pleading to a two-year prison sentence yesterday wasn’t enough, Queens, New York rapper Ja Rule must now contend with hackers, who seem to have taken over his Twitter account. An authorized person gained access to Ja Rule’s official account Twitter.com/RuleYork around 5:30 AM this morning, about an hour after the rap star’s last official Tweet, which commented on the snow falling in New York. Starting around 5:30 AM, fans of Ja Rule were confused when they began reading a series of tweets suggesting that he was surrendering to his nemesis, fellow Queen’s rapper 50 Cent. “Listen man, i was thinking, im sorry i slapped you, i wanna appologize [sic] for everything,” the intruder tweeted to 50 Cent. “man why you had to go in on my career like that tho? you f##### my money up, i get it, your smarter, better rapper ”A few tweets later, it was obvious that it was not Ja Rule sending the messages, as the insults began. First they were directed at 50 Cent, but a number of others were sent messages too, including 50 Cent, Nore, Tyga, The Game, Big Tigga, Gunplay of Triple C’s, and others, to the shock of the Ja Rule’s fans. As of press time, the hacker was tweeting away, sending out numerous messages, including that sent Ja Rule’s personal cell phone number to his 34,000 followers.”I don’t believe this,” tweeted one of Ja Rule’s followers, while another told the hacker: “I’m convinced you aint Ja and I’d like to rob u.”

The views expressed inside this editorial aren’t necessarily the views of AllHipHop.com or its employees.President Obama is angry, and rightfully so. He’s endured two years of meticulous Republican opposition to virtually every measure put forth, even when he — dare I say — compromised. Setting aside campaign promises of a public healthcare option and a closing of Guantanamo Bay, the President has abandoned many of his platforms only to face continual filibustering, abuse and contempt from the right. So this past Tuesday during a press conference on the proposed tax cut deal, he let loose — except the anger was directed to those that have been in his corner since day one. It was, in effect, like the overworked and underpaid worker who comes home and beats his wife and kids instead of standing up to his tyrant boss.
September 2009 marked the beginning of the end of Obama’s hold on his own principles, the desires of all those who overwhelmingly voted for change and the notion of respect for the coveted office of the Presidency. There was no capitulation on ideas, nor was there a reversal of any major campaign promise. Instead, it was a brief utterance from a Republican elected official in the House Chambers that virtually sealed this President’s fate. It was two words that still reverberate around political corners till this day; it was the inexcusable and outlandish outburst of South Carolina Congressman Joe Wilson. During a national address on healthcare, our President was momentarily interrupted by the words: “You Lie.” And he has been unable to regain control since.
Failing to exert his authority during that pivotal moment, President Obama fell victim to vultures that were only ready, willing and able to find his weakness. And they soon enough did — his inability to stand up to White opposition rooted in bigotry. Until that definitive instant, our Commander-in-Chief never faced such blatant insolence and hostility. Prior to Joe Wilson’s scathing remarks, Obama only had to negotiate and engage in intellectual discourse with his opponents. This was in essence the first time he was face-to-face with individuals who devalued the notion of a Black President so much so that they deemed it appropriate to openly degrade and embarrass him in front of the nation.
As a biracial child growing up in a White household and later attending Ivy league schools, Obama was always perceived as the exception out of a race of people that are still struggling to shatter inaccurate stereotypes and achieve equality in a society that is far from post-racial. And though he grew up outside of the mainland, the President fully immersed himself in the struggles of African Americans and disenfranchised groups as evidenced by his work as a community organizer and advocate. Whole-heartedly embracing and identifying with his Black side, Obama married a Black woman, attended a Black Church and understood the importance of uplifting a segment of the population that has been methodically oppressed.
In the process of developing his identity, Obama also unfortunately acquired the notion of displaced anger – directing one’s frustration at someone or something that is safe or convenient, as opposed to the actual source of one’s anger. And sadly, we have seen this pattern manifest itself over and over again. Consistently accusing the ‘professional left’ of being sanctimonious, President Obama has not only abandoned the very base that created a grassroots movement of victory that ushered him to the White House, but he has chosen to continually attack them when they have shown nothing but support – even in the face of reversals in campaign promises. Instead of directly challenging those that are systematically placing roadblocks in every direction of his path, President Obama is regrettably channeling his frustration on those that want nothing more than to see him succeed.
The sooner our President recognizes this reality, the sooner he will be able to break the shackles from the remnants of mental slavery that still unfortunately subconsciously determine our actions — even when those actions originate from the highest office in the land.

(AllHipHop News) Rap star Eminem has successfully returned to the music industry with the year’s bestselling release and now the 38-year-old has set his sights on the big screen, with a major role in the movie Southpaw.Southpaw is being developed for Eminem and will feature the rap star playing a welterweight boxer who earns the title, but suffers from personal tragedy. The boxer must then fight his way back to the top and when the affections of his young daughter and according to published reports, the movie is being described as a continuation of his hit 2002 movie 8 Mile. Most of the script, which will be drafted by February, will be loosely based on Eminem’s own life and music, according to Deadline.com.Southpaw is being penned by Kurt Sutter, the creator of FX’s#### series Sons of Anarchy and will be distributed into theaters by Dreamworks.”I took meetings with Marshall’s producing partners over the past 7 years, looking for something to do together,” Sutter told Deadline.com. “I know he’s very selective and doesn’t do a lot. But he shared so much of his personal struggle in this raw and very honest album, one that I connected with on a lot of levels. He is very interested in the boxing genre, and it seemed like an apt metaphor, because his own life has been a brawl.”According to Sutter, the movie will be a metaphorical narrative of the “second chapter” of Eminem’s life. “At its core, this is a retelling of his struggles over the last five years of his life, using the boxing analogy,” Sutter continued. “I love that the title refers to Marshall being a lefty, which is to boxing what a white rapper is to Hip-Hop; dangerous, unwanted and completely unorthodox. It’s a much harder road for a southpaw than a right handed boxer.”
