Diddy “Apologizes” To Rival Vodka Makers In Bubble Bath Statement

(AllHipHop News) Sean “Diddy” Combs has issued an apology for making disparaging  statements about rival vodka’s that set off the “vodka wars” earlier this month between Combs’ Ciroc brand and a number of other spirit makers. Combs released the statement via YouTube, which features the entertainment mogul soaking in a bubble bath surrounded by Ciroc bottles, while taunting his competition with the “apology.”“Ladies and gentlemen, I come to you today as a man. I feel like only a true man steps up to the plate and people may not agree with his position. And that man says ‘I’m sorry,’ I’m sorry to all I may have offended. We’re sorry for being the best. I am sorry that just that just this weekend, we got awarded the prestigious Double Gold Medal from the San Francisco World Spirits Award for the best ultra premium vodka. This is a fact, you can Google it. I am sorry I came out with these flavors that taste so good.”The words will surely aggravate liquor tycoon M.J. Silver, who declared a “vodka war” on Combs’ Ciroc, after Combs was quoted as saying “if you’re not drinking Ciroc vodka, then you’re drinking pee pee.”Last month Silver, who owns Georgi Argent and members of his staff attempted to deliver a toilet full of Ciroc vodka to Combs’ Manhattan offices, but was rejected by the mogul’s burley security guards. “I am sorry that the competitions sales are down and we are up,” said Combs as he held a champagne glass of Ciroc in the tub. “There’s nothing I can do about that. I am sorry that I am coming to you live from my bubble bath. I’m not really sorry. It tastes good.”Combs is putting the finishing touches on his upcoming album Last Train to Paris, which is due in stores June 22nd. video platformvideo managementvideo solutionsvideo player

Dr. Dre’s Son Curtis Young Preps Album, Label; Talks New Image

(AllHipHop News) Dr. Dre’s biological son Curtis Young hopes to follow in the footsteps of his father, with the launch of his new record label, Young Entertainment Inc. Like his famous father, Curtis Young, formerly known as Hood Surgeon, also hails from Compton, California. His debut solo album, titled Product of My DNA, will be released this summer on his Young Ent. Label. “My world became complete when I finally met my father at the age of 21,” Curtis Young told AllHipHop.com. “I am extremely grateful for my father paving the road for me and many other artists. I feel privileged to have the opportunity to take over a legacy. As a producer, my father has set extremely high standards to existing and upcoming producers all over the globe but my hard and dedicated work will show everyone that I deserve the name Young.”Young has been active on the West coast mixtape scene with several releases over the past year. Mixtapes like Family Tree Vol. 1 and Vol. 2, Son of A Doctor and Billionaire Dreams have helped Curtis Young gain a local following. According to Young, he has reshaped his image and his sound represents a “new era of positive feel good music for the West Coast.” “People can expect a new trendy look from me…I am a new generation of Left Coast artists who can not only rap but produce as well. In the future, my company Young Entertainment Inc, will set high standards and create another element for the Hip-Hop world so get familiar.”As for Product of My DNA, the album has no release date, but is due in stores sometime this Summer. The album will reveal intimate details about his relationship with his father Dr. Dre and how the two met for the first time. “For my debut album, you can expect to learn about the making of Curtis Young,” Young promised. “The story of actually becoming a product of society. People can expect to hear the true meaning of ‘Product Of My DNA’ that will let people know who Curtis Young is and how I learned about my father, Dr. Dre.”

Solar Denies He Was Romantically Involved With Guru; Dimisses Criticism

(AllHipHop News) Producer Solar has addressed the intense criticism directed at him shortly after the passing of revered Gang Starr Rapper Guru, who died on Monday (April 19th) from cancer. Solar, who was Guru’s partner in his recording venture 7 Grand Records, has come under scrutiny over a series of press releases allegedly penned by Guru shortly before his death. In each release, Guru repeatedly snubbed Gang Starr co-founder DJ Premier, referring to the producer as his “ex-DJ,” while showering attention on Solar and his increased role handling Guru’s personal affairs. Solar told MTV that his relationship with Guru started in 2002, when the pair met through a mutual friend. “Me and him just hit it off as men. I got to know him as a man, he got to know me as a man. We were both going through tricky periods in our lives,” Solar told MTV News. “I was working with homeless children at the time. It’s a heavy problem … Guru was dealing with certain situations. We started hanging out, hitting the clubs in New York. We needed to lighten it up a little bit.”Solar admitted that Guru battled substance abuse, using weed, liquor and other drugs, although Guru had been sober since 2003. In 2009, Guru found out he had cancer after developing a consistent pain in his back. An MRI revealed that Guru, born Keith Elam, had cancer, leaving him “upset and distraught.”Guru underwent surgery in July of 2009, but according to Solar, the operation and the ensuing chemotherapy proved unsuccessful.Although medicated, Guru continued to tour and withheld the information from family members, even as the cancer spread throughout his body, as he was optimistic he could beat the disease. Solar shot down reports that he was taking advantage of Guru while he was sick or weak and also denied reports spreading that he and Guru may have been romantically linked. “He knew exactly what he wanted to do, not only his business but his personal life…I don’t want to say anything against anybody living a certain type of lifestyle — everybody is free to live their life how they choose to live it — but that’s not my lifestyle or Guru’s lifestyle. We’re straight men. He dealt with women and family. I dealt with women and family. There’s never been any blurring of the lines whatsoever.”

Hip-Hop Rumors: 2PAC Is Coming Back! Shyne Talks Name Change! Epic Fails!

DISCLAIMER:

what the streets have whispered in our ear. Read on. SEE SOMETHING? SAY SOMETHING!!!!!

THE DAILY TWO SENSE

OK, I am doing my best to go though these rap contest submissions. IT IS A LOT OF MUSIC. And I hate to say it, it is like finding a needle in a hay stack. So bear with me. I didn’t forget you, but there is a lot of music!!!!!!

Shout out to Headqcourterz2PAC IS COMING BACK!

Tupac is on the way back to you bastards! He’s not going anywhere. One of my sources from out in LA is telling me that the Don is returning with a new album that will be released in the later part of this year. I heard this is going to come out via the new Death Row Records. They have a new set of owners and I guess they have locked in all the right rights to sell this new album. I hope they do it well. But, they have several never-before-heard Pac songs. There is reportedly an all out diss record called “Watch Your Mouth” and Pac is dissing “everybody.” Death Row expects this album to go platinum. Oh yeah – these are going to be release as they were in the 90’s, not new beats.

MORE ON JIMMY AND CAM’S REUNION

Another homie told me that Jim and Cam are really about to do this reunion thing. Supposedly they are going to make it happen at Summer Jam. But, here is the funny thing. They are supposed to be really not reppin’ crazy that they are fully out of the beef. So, they were apparently at a restaurant in NJ and they were getting a bite to eat. A fan wanted to take a pic with them, but they refused. They refused to take the pic TOGETHER. They agreed to take the pic with the fan separately. I guess they want to keep the suspense together for when they do the big show or album.

SHYNE EXPLAINS NAME CHANGE

Nahright.com’s Eskay spoke to Shyne and explained why Shyne Po sounds the way he does. Shyne says that old dude from Bad Boy is dead.

Ok, so I just had a conversation with Po. He wanted to explain why there’s been such a drastic change in his rhyme style/flow since his release from prison. I was going to wait until the next time he leaked a track, but I mentioned it on Twitter, and people were asking for an explanation, so here goes.

Here’s the gist of it: That guy we used to know pre-2001? The guy who shot up the club? The guy who stood in front of the judge and took a 10 year bid? The guy who used to spit like this?

That guy is dead.

That was the guy Jamal Barrow used to be, and he no longer wants to be that man. That man made choices that he’ll have to deal with for the rest of his life, and put his mother through one of the worst experiences any mother could ever have to go through. And he doesn’t want to be that man anymore.

He explained, in no uncertain terms, that in order for him to move forward with his life, and stay on the right path, he feels he needs to make drastic changes, and the flow you hear now, is just a small part of that.

So the Shyne you hear now, like it or not, for better or for worse, is the Shyne we’ll be hearing from here out. You don’t have to like it, but I think you have to respect it.

ILLSEED’S QUICKIES

Rick Ross has confirmed that he’s being managed by Diddy bop!

Apparently, Rihanna wasn’t rushed to the hospital.

Word on the street is that Chris Brown and Rihanna are in talks.

What do you think?

EPIC FAIL OF THE DAY

A White bank robbery suspect wore a super mask that made him look like a Back man with bad skin! He almost got over too. “You are the type of villain we read about in novels and see in the movies,” said Hamilton County Municipal Court Judge Melissa Powers to Conrad Zdzierak. Dude robbed damn 5 banks in a day and tried to blame a Black man. FAIL.

OUR HEALTH CRISIS: Hip-Hop Is Dying

HIP-HOP’S STATE OF

EMERGENCY: OUR HEALTH CRISIS

State of Union Address to

the Hip-Hop Generation by Supa Nova Slom, The Hip Hop Medicine Man

Part I: “Hip-Hop Is Dying”

Dear Hip-Hop Generation:

This

is a call to my fellow hip-hop artists, community, and generation at large:

WAKE UP!!! HIP-HOP IS DYING!!!! IT IS A STATE OF EMERGENCY AND WE ARE IN AN

URGENT HEALTH CRISIS! HIP-HOP ARTISTS ARE DYING, OUR FAMILIES ARE DYING, AND

THE HIP-HOP GENERATION IS THE FIRST GENERATION THAT MAY NOT OUT LIVE THEIR

PARENTS!!!

As

we mourn the passing of hip-hop icon Guru, I challenge all of his peers and

fans to not let his death be in vain.

There is no reason that Guru and so many others under 45 should be

passing away at the rates they are.

Every MC, B-Boy, DJ, Graf Artist, sista in the club, college student,

brutha on the corner, G, and hustler is personally suffering from or knows

someone battling cancer, arthritis, diabetes, asthma, hypertension, obesity, or

one of many other illnesses, most of which are caused or worsened by the foods

eat.

Don’t

think for one minute your aunties, big mamas, and parents are the only ones

battling these sicknesses. The entire African-American and Latino communities

lead in all the statistics for all of these crippling diseases and people under

40 are being hit at younger and younger ages.  According to the Office of Minority health, about one in

four African-American women are overweight or obese and nearly 20% of

African-American children ages 6-17 are termed obese.  This is means that 20% of our children are at high risk for

high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol, and a slew of other obesity

associated diseases.

It

is the fast food and over-processed pre-packaged US food culture that has

driven us to this place and if we do not act soon we may not be able to turn

back.  You still think this does

not apply to you or perhaps you just need some extra reinforcement. Read the

list below of mainstream celebrities who have battled major life threatening

health conditions:

MC Breed- Dead at 37- Kidney Failure

J. Dilla- Dead at 32- Cardiac Arrest

Big Pun- Dead at 28- Heart Attack

Nate Dogg- 40- 2 Strokes at 38- Partially Paralyzed

Alonzo Mourning- 40- Kidney Disease: Kidney Transplant

at age 33

Missy Elliot-38 High Blood Pressure- Takes Pills Daily

Ghostface killa- 39 Diagnosed at 26 with Type 1

Diabetes

Lil Boosie – diagnosed at age 20 with Diabetes-

Takes insulin 3 times a day

Phife Dawg- 39- Type 1 Diabetes and Has Had a Kidney

Transplant

Angie Stone- 48-Type 2 Diabetes and High Blood

Pressure

Halle Berry- 43- Type 1 Diabetes

This

is only a short list of famous people who have disclosed their health status to

the public and it clearly shows you don’t have to be old, poor, overweight, or

living in the hood to be sick.

Beyond being a hip-hop artist, I am a second-generation holistic health

advocate.  I have traveled on the

road with Erykah Badu as her wellness consultant and over the years I have

encountered countless celebrities dealing with minor and major ailments.  On the personal front I am sick and

tired of losing young people and reading outlandish statistics.  At this point NOBODY IS EXEMPT.  Everyone is vulnerable to these

diseases and unless we make some immediate major changes to incorporate

healthier eating habits and lifestyle practices we may not live to see 50.

If

you are living on the American diet YOU TOO ARE A WALKING TICKING TIME BOMB

ready to explode at any moment for the build up of fast food, fried foods,

candy, sodas, sugar drinks, chemical additives and I am talking to you in this

letter. Most people know McDonalds, Popeyes, Wendy’s, Snickers, Twix, etc. are

bad for them but they continue to eat them every single day so I ask everyone

at what point are we going to wake up!!!

People’s

number one excuse is eating healthy cost too much but yet most of these are the

same people that spend hundreds of dollars on Jordans, Coach, Prada, car rims

and other material indulgences.

When we tell these same people who may buy two or three bottles in the

club to go buy a juicer they say it is too expensive or laugh it off.  Our priorities are horribly messed up

when it comes to spending money and taking care of ourselves.  People care more about what they look

like from the outside then they do about how their bodies feel on the

inside.  They are more concerned

with being able to participate in the Pass the Courvoisier Blame it on the

Alcohol lifestyle than learning to do away with the same sicknesses that force

them to take medication daily.

They would rather invest in overly expensive shoes than work to prevent

diabetes that could one day lead to amputations and no options to wear shoes.

I

recently wrote a book called The Remedy: The Five-Week Power Plan to Detox

Your System, Combat the Fat, and Rebuild Your Mind and Body.  It is

the first comprehensive wellness book written with the hip-hop generation in

mind and features testimonies by Melyssa Ford, Hype Williams, Tyson Beckford,

Erykah Badu, Chuck D., and Jim Jones sharing simple things they do to maintain

healthy active lives.  I provide

the step-by-step plan to remedy your body and work to prevent future sickness

thru diet, exercise, and positive thinking.  In this Hip-Hop’s State of Emergency series I will share

some of these easy to incorporate tips and tools that can change your entire

life with small things like drinking water and eating green vegetables.  For all of you who think it costs too

much money I will provide inexpensive meal plans and easy to make home remedies.

Big

Pun passed we didn’t take heed.

Nate Dogg had two strokes and not much was said. When we lost J. Dilla

finally people started to show some concern and when Phife Dawg exposed his

battle with diabetes, people began to realize there is an issue but still no

one has effectively challenged our generation on a widespread scale to reclaim

our wellness at every level.  Today

I challenge every one of you to stand up and take charge of your own

health.

We

have just lost Guru and the entire hip-hop community is in mourning.  Let’s take the opportunity to seize the

time before we find ourselves back here again with the next artist or family

member dying too early and too soon. In the midst of street beefs, egotism,

misogyny, disunity, and materialism I call for unity amongst us all on the

issue of survival and health.  It’s

about time we get sick and tired of being sick and tired and DO SOMETHING.  In the memory of Guru let’s all get

GANGSTARR for our health and wellness.

If

you have any questions I invite you to email me at [email protected].

I am here to help you along your journey to saving our lives and becoming

wellness warriors.  The time is

now!

Salute!

Hip-Hop Rumors: T-Pain’s Got A New ENEMY!

DISCLAIMER:

T-PAIN HAS A NEW ENEMY! Uh – OH. T-Pain has made a new enemy! Remember that lil thing with Sean Hannity? Well, it raised the ire of a Black radical! Now this dude has been around a lot so this ain’t some rapper just coming out of the blue. Peep this: Durham NC– While Hip Hop artists have often faced criticism for lyrics that promote violence and misogyny, one rapper is taking heat for giving the Conservatives a “shout out.” Hip Hop star, T-Pain (Faheem Rasheem Najm) is facing criticism for a video posted on the web site of Fox News commentator, Sean Hannity ,where Hannity coaxes him to say “Conservative victory 2010” into the camera. That statement is not resonating well with members of the African American community and Hip Hop fans, including activist and blogger Paul Scott of Durham, North Carolina. “The ‘T’ in T-Pain, now stands for ‘Tom,’ says Scott, referring to the disrespectful label, “Uncle Tom,” which means someone who turns his back on the black community. Although, some are arguing that the T-Pain/Sean Hannity video was just a nonpolitical photo op, Scott disagrees. “I bet that neither T-Pain nor his handlers would have allowed his picture to be taken with Rev. Jeremiah Wright while holding a copy of ‘Message to a Black Man,” says Scott. According to Scott, Conservatives such as Sean Hannity are hostile to policies that help poor and underprivileged communities ; communities that rappers claim to represent. ” It seems that artists that rep’ the hood on the radio are actually closet Conservatives,” says Scott. “It is time to pull the sheets off of those artists who are sleeping with the enemy.” This is not the first time that entertainers have come under fire in recent years for expressing political sentiments. Country music stars, the Dixie Chicks, suffered a viscous backlash in 2003, when lead singer, Natalie Maines, announced during a London concert that she was ashamed that the President of the United States was from Texas. The outburst led to boycotts by insulted country music fans and radio stations. “If country music Conservatives can boycott the Dixie Chicks for dissin’ the Right, Hip Hoppers should be able to shut down T-Pain for dissin’  the Left,” says Scott. Scott, who is the author of the blog, “No Warning Shots Fired.com,” is asking that the African American community and rap music fans withdraw their support of T-Pain until he denounces the Right Wing’s attack on “the ‘hood” and apologizes for being used as a “bamboozled Right Wing flunky.” “We must begin to hold rappers accountable not only for their lyrics of violence and misogyny but also for their political stances that run contrary to the needs of the children in poor and oppressed communities, says Scott. http://www.nowarningshotsfired.com

Breaking News: DJ Premier Issues Formal Statement On Guru

DJ Premier has issued his official statement on the death of former rap partner Guru. Both men released six influential albums as Gangstarr. The letter is seen in its entirety below.IT WAS A SAD DAY FOR ME TO GET CONFIRMATION ON THE DEATH OF A

MAN WHO I WILL CONTINUE TO CALL MY BROTHER, KEITH ELAM, BETTER KNOWN

AS GURU OF THE LEGENDARY GANG STARR.

FROM 1988-2004, WE EXPERIENCED SO MUCH SUCCESS TOGETHER THAT

WE WERE ABLE TO EXPAND OUR BUSINESSES INDEPENDENTLY AND GIVE EACH

OTHER WHAT GURU CALLED “CREATIVE SPACE”, BEFORE PLANNING TO REUNITE FOR

OUR 7TH LP WHEN THE TIME WAS RIGHT.  TRAGICALLY, WE WILL NEVER REACH

THAT DAY.

I’VE BEEN ASKED TO COMMENT ON A LETTER SPEAKING ILL OF ME

WHICH WAS SUPPOSEDLY WRITTEN BY GURU IN HIS DYING DAYS.  ALL I WILL SAY

ABOUT IT IS THAT OUR TIME TOGETHER WAS BEAUTIFUL, WE BUILT A HIP HOP

LEGACY TOGETHER, AND NO ONE CAN RE-WRITE HISTORY OR TAKE AWAY MY LOVE

FOR HIM.  ONE THING I WOULD NEVER DO IS PLAY AROUND WITH THE TRUTH

ABOUT HIS LIFE.

I  WILL CELEBRATE GURU’S LIFE… I WILL HONOR HIS MEMORY…

I WILL GRIEVE WITH THE ELAM FAMILY OVER HIS UNTIMELY DEATH… I WILL

REMEMBER THE GANG STARR FOUNDATION AND ALL OF THE ORIGINAL MEMBERS OF

CHERISH EVERYTHING WE CREATED TOGETHER AS GANG STARR, FOREVER.  I’M

GONNA MISS HEARING HIS SIGNATURE MONOTONE VOICE WHEN HE WALKS IN THE

ROOM, BUT THE SONGS WILL ALWAYS BRING IT BACK TO ME….HIS RHYME FLOWS

WERE INSANE, AND I WILL NEVER REMOVE HIM FROM MY HEART AND SOUL…….REST

IN PEACE TO THE MAN WHO FELT “SATISFACTION FROM THE STREET CROWD

REACTION” … I LOVE YOU GOO…….DJ PREMIER

Do Not Meet Your Heroes!

[Original Source]I’m not a whistle-blower, rat or any other term synonymous with snitch. With that said the following stories shall leave the guilty nameless. My agenda here is to crystallize my point, not expose wack behavior. Before I state my premise I’ll first explain my need to.

Last month I received an assignment to interview a celebrity who was known as one of the best in their field but today remains a couple years shaded from limelight. Six weeks later I’m in the fallen star’s hometown discovering their delusion. His perception of his market value is a mis-perception. His goals are unrealistic because his plans to achieve them are unrealistic. It was a sad but educational day for me. The experience drove home (millionth time) that I should avoid meeting my heroes. They almost always disappoint.

Like in 2001 when I got hated on by a couple of the game’s top writers. At the time, one of ‘em was in my scribe top five. I was a pup. Had only gone pro two years prior. Somehow I managed to gain notoriety for a “fearless” interview style. Rolling Stone named me the “Hot Interviewer” in their famed “Hot Issue.” I get a call from the top 5 writer. Flattery quickly dissolved as the wordsmith began babbling about discussing my Rolling Stone profile with another esteemed writer. He wanted to contact me before anyone who overheard the conversation did first. I quickly deciphered: both writers were hating on me because I received such a huge publishing nod at such a ripe age. So ex-top 5 wanted to cop an early (guilty) plea. Diesel fuel––I got bigger. They got smaller.

The older heroes are indeed the biggest letdowns. They’re bitter, insecure and thus jealous of threatening youth. I began learning this when I interviewed one of the ‘90’s best producers in the new millennium. He was a full season cooler than the hottest producers at that time and vocal about it. He took subliminal shots at a few trackmasters and even called out a couple production prodigies. Welp, one of those prodigies had a very thorough family. The legendary got stepped to immediately and from what the young producer told me buckled like ‘Lo boots. Mr. Legend then phoned me, ignorant to my knowledge of his buckling, claiming he was misquoted. Refusing to waste words on wackness I simply put the recorder to the phone and played his words back to him.

The cake was taken, though, when I met one of my all-time favorite MCs. If I followed any scripture as a teen it was his rhyme book. It was still very early in my career and this rapper was on the brink of a rap beef. So guess who got sent to Miami to see if dude wanted to draw first blood? I found myself face-to-face with my hero, separated only by the table inside his trailer, my recorder and a fifth of Hennessy. As the bottle got lighter my questioning became more relentless. His answers produced more platitudes. I got my story––not a home run (rapper kept buntin’) but a winner. Then a week after our sit down the rapper began blowing up my two-way. It’s after 1am on a Saturday morning, I’m in a club and he’s requesting I keep his comments about 50 Cent and Prodigy out of the cover story. Mind you, I was celebrating my birthday. My respect for him never made it past age 24.

Now how many of y’all have been disappointed by a hero? And can you guess the identities of my former heroes? Bonsu Thompson, The Rolling Stone 2001 “Hot Interviewer” has penned for mags like DetailsXXLPenthouse, SLAM and KING as well as notable brands such as MTV, VH1, Rocawear and Translation. “Above the Clouds”

Guru (Gifted Unlimited Rhymes Universal) July 17, 1962–April 19, 2010

As I was driving home last night the

radio station out here in Houston played a mixed dedicated to Guru.  One of the songs they played was “Above the

Clouds” and a listener called in asking who the artist was because she liked

the song.  Guru was a big part of Hip Hop

culture and he will be missed, but one saving grace is that his music is

timeless.  It’s there forever.  Hopefully some fans and artist out there will

be exposed to some of the music he created now, and see the time and effort

that Gangstarr put into their craft.

There is no Hip Hop in the top 10 but maybe that’s fitting for this week.  Take

the time to experience a Gangstarr album like No More Mr. Nice Guy, Step

in the Arena, Daily

Operation, Hard

to Earn, Moment of Truth, The

Ownerz, Full Clip: A Decade of Gang

Starr, or Mass Appeal: Best of Gang

Starr.  If you like Jazz, then listen to one of the

four volumes of Guru’s Jazzmatazz series, where he blends Jazz, Hip Hop, and

R&B.  Take some time out this week to

hear some real Hip Hop.

Guru…Rest

In Peace

Dropping this Week

I

wasn’t even going to put any albums in the column this week but the artists we

have today have a heavy following in the Hip Hop community.

First

up is North Carolina’s own Little Brother.

The group has gone through some ups and downs, and a little bit of

drama, due to their split with 9th Wonder.  Now a duo, Phonte and Rapper Big Pooh, still

continue to spit real lyrics since their debut The Listening.  This week

they release, Left Back, their fourth

album.

Next, is Devin the Dude, who, in honor

of yesterday releases Suite 420.  If you’re familiar with Devin the Dude then

you know what style of music he’s producing.

I don’t know much about the album but I will be picking it up.

Lastly, is California’s own Cypress Hill

who releases their ninth studio album Rise

Up.  This is the group’s first album

of new material in the last six years so fans out there should be happy.

That’s it for the week so go pick up one

of these three albums, listen to some Guru, and go enjoy some real Hip-Hop.

Scott Storch’s Mom Says Producer Offers No Support

(AllHipHop News) Joyce Yolanda Storch, mother of producer Scott Storch, has gone public with her disappointment over her son’s alleged lack of financial support. Several years ago, Scott Storch was one of the industry’s most sought after producers, creating chart-toppers for Beyonce, Chris Brown, and 50 Cent. By 2006, his catalogue was estimated to be worth $70 million. The success came crashing down through cocaine abuse and excessive spending, such as purchasing a $20 million dollar yacht, $3 million dollar jewelry pieces, and $1.7 million Bugatti Veyron. Even though her son’s fortune is now gone due to numerous lawsuits, judgments, and a bankruptcy filing, Yolanda Storch feels disappoint that her son didn’t provide financial support. “Scott always told me he had plans to do certain things for the family,” she told The Miami New Times in an interview slated to be printed tomorrow. “But then I guess things got bad before he got around to it. I read about all these other rappers’ mothers — P. Diddy’s mother, Kanye West’s mother, Jay-Z’s mother. Their sons all took care of them,” Joyce Storch said of her son.Scott Storch is currently recovering from his drug addiction and is working with Dr. Dre on his upcoming, often-delayed album, Detox. Additionally, Storch produced “Shutter Bug,” the first single off of Big Boi’s upcoming solo album Sir Luscious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty.Storch was supposed to participate in the interview for the Miami New Times’ article, but canceled, when the paper refused to remove the references to his mother.
