Like the best albums category, there’s much to consider when appointing the best of the best when it comes to the beats. Still, there is one thing we know for certain, a lot of producers stood out in major ways this year. Whether it was the potency of Just Blaze to the melodious J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League to the gritty NY beats on Rae’s OBFCL II, it was all offered in 2009.
We felt like we got a wealth of audio and more as these urban maestros cranked out song after song for the Hip-Hop elite. Still, no new megastars emerged in 2009 like in the past with acts like Kanye,Pete Rock, Timbaland and Preemo. They are well on their way though.
This list is long, but we didn’t want to miss anybody and we still probably missed somebody deserving of this list. So, we’re asking for the help of the AllHipHop Community and the Ill Community to help with anybody that we may have forgotten.

Stephens, who is credited with signing and discovering Akon and T-Pain, is also vice president of Akons Konvict Muzik record label.
The announcement and donation were made on December 29 at the organizations Annual Christmas Gala, named Puttin on the Ritz: The Top Hat Affair, which also featured Atlanta notables Jermaine Dupri, Monica, Yung Joc, and Mayor Kasim Reed.
“Helping to make the Children’s at Hughes Spalding dream a reality means the world to me,” explained Upfront Megatainment chairman and founder Devyne Stephens to AllHipHop.com. “I’ve always been a strong believer in investing in the future, and the future is our children. I’m extremely honored to be collaborating with Children’s at Hughes Spalding and to officially launch Devyne Intervention around such a worthy cause. I look forward to the months ahead and working with the Children’s team.”

The Childrens Healthcare Chair of Trustees praised Stephens efforts, detailing that their goal to raise $43 million in capital was secured mostly through the efforts of private citizens.
“With a long history as the medical home for many families, Children’s at Hughes Spalding will be able to continue to lead the community to a healthier future,” stated Stephanie Blank, Chair of the Children’s Foundation Board of Trustees. “This bright future is secured through the unyielding support for Children’s from the generous contributions from our donors.”
The new pediatric facility will feature an improved Emergency department, child-friendly impatient beds, and specialty clinics (sickle-cell, asthma, and child protection).
The hospital will retain its services for cancer, cardiac, neonatal, orthopedic, and transplants.

CHRIS BROWN AND RIHANNA VOICEMAIL?
OK, some of my iller connects have hit me up and dropped some info on me. I have to give it up to you readers that wrote me and even told me about the whole damn voicemail thing with Chris and Rihanna. I was away and didn’t quite get what it was. NOW I DO…according to rumors. Apparently, Rihanna has been seeing a psychologist and she communicates with him/her via text messages. But the “shrink” reportedly has been pleading for RiRi to come in the office in person to get help. Hey, if I was a shrink I would want Rihanna on my couch too…get it!? The last time she was in the office was October, so they say. RiRi’s reason for not coming in? HER ALBUM! Nothing like putting your health on the back burner for promotion!
HERE IS THE KICKER….Apparently, Chris Brown and Rihanna communicated to each other after the 20/20 interview. Rumors say Chris was cussing Rihanna up and down and up again for putting him on blast on 20/20. Isn’t that a violation of his probation? I’m just saying! I hope he didn’t do that. He didn’t like RiRi making him look bad as a person and that it was messing him up mentally as well.
Guess what? Somebody is saying that they are going to sell the so-called voicemail to tmz. Isn’t that somehow illegal?
JAY-Z RUMORS!
I don’t really have any rumors, per se. But a few people suggested to me that this Illuminati stuff with Jay-Z is just one big joke. Now, I don’t know all there is to know about this, but here is what I am getting. First of all, the Mason’s aren’t a true secret society, but they don’t flaunt it the way Jay has allegedly been doing it. But they are a society that keeps secrets very well. So, Jay wouldn’t be telling on himself and revealing secrets like his is if he really was a member. Somebody else, within the music game, told me that Jay-Z is probably just feeding into the rumors and theories just to get the talkers talking even more. So, the blatant nature of some of the imagery was done on purpose just to get a rise out of people. What do you think?
LIL KIM’S FANS ARE REALLY UPSET!
Uh-Oh…check out this email-oh, and I cannot co-sign this other than they are HEATED.
WELL…Kim’s LAWYERS have gotten on the case here. Somebody’s in trouble, but it ain’t me!

EPIC FAIL OF THE DAY!
I know, people…people, I know. You are going to say I am hating, but I have to give Chris Brown the fail of the day! This Matt Kemp dude is groping the a$$ of the love of his life and laughing about it! DAYUM! I would be pissssssssssssssssssed even if she wasn’t mine. Dude is rubbing it in…literally!

The best major albums category has always been a major and contentious topic for Hip-Hop fans and critics. There are so many factors to consider, including sales, societal impact, artistic merits, among a plethora of other matters. And, the indies arguably have it worse. They dwell in a world where every fan is a rapper and downloading is like taking money from a person with $10. The art of the indie stands on its own two feet like any art. AllHipHop considers all there is to consider in the best album category and this year we extended the list to accommodate the number of quality albums that were released in 2009. As far as the majors, a lot of them were overlooked due to lack of music and video outlets, promotion, marketing and even apathy. Still these major and indies releases are worthy of your time in our eyes and ears.Best Major Albums:Raekwon– Only Built for Cuban Linx 2 Jadakiss –The Last Kiss Fabolous – Loso’ Way Rick Ross – Deeper Than Rap Jay-Z – Blueprint 3 Eminem– RelapseWale – Attention Deficit Drake – So Far Gone EP UGK – UGK 4 Life Asher Roth – Asleep in the Bread AisleKid Cudi – Man on the Moon: The End of Day Best Independent Albums: DOOM –Born Like This J Dilla – Jay Stay Paid K’naan – TroubadourTech N9ne – KOD dead prez – Information Age Slaughterhouse – Slaughterhouse Dorrough– Dorrough Music Curren$y – This Ain’t No Mixtape KRS and Buckshot – Survival Skills Masta Ace and Edo G – Arts and Entertainment DJ Spinna – Sonic Smash Slim Thug – Boss of All Bosses Marco Polo and Torae – Double BarrelSkyzoo – The Salvation Cormega – Born & Raised Apathy – Wanna Snuggle? (AllHipHop News) Atlanta rapper Alfamega has confirmed that his son and daughter were involved in a violent altercation inside of T.I.’s Club Crucial in Atlanta.
Alfamega told AllHipHop.com that his daughter was involved in some sort of altercation inside of the club which, resulted in her being stabbed multiple times.
Alfamegas son was also beaten and suffered from a broken jaw, when he tried to intervene on behalf of his sister.
“I had a talk with Tips uncle Derrick, who co-owns Club Crucial,” Alfamega told AllHipHop.com in an exclusive interview. “I was like my daughter got stabbed up there dog and my son got his jaw fractured. He was like huh? I didnt know that. They didnt know, they people they got into it with didnt know they were my children. I was told that my children wasnt in the wrong. The girls and the dudes attacked her and stabbed her and basically my son jumped in cause they were attacking his sister and somebody hit him from the blindside.
His daughter suffered from three stab wounds in addition to one collapsed lung.
She was released from the hospital and is currently recuperating from her injuries, as is the rappers son who also suffered multiple contusions, in addition to the broken jaw.
At press time it is not known if anyone has been charged in the assault.
He [Derrick] called the guys who supposed to run the little crew they got into it with and they didnt know it was my children either,” Alfamega told AllHipHop.com. “They were really shocked and remorseful. And I told they the only reason I am going to give them a pass is because they didnt know. And I dont want to take it there because I still got a little situation. I dont want it to be deeper than what it is. I am glad that both of my children are still living.
The incident occurred on Christmas Eve (December 24), just two days after T.I. was released from a low security prison facility in Arkansas, after serving less than a year for possession of machine guns and silencers.
Alfamega had a falling out with T.I. and the Grand Hustle camp in 2009, after thesmokinggun.com revealed that Alfamega had served as an informant in a drug case.
The rapper was quick to point out that the incident had nothing to do with his feud with T.I.
Alfamega stated that the perpetrators of the crime had no idea that the people that they assaulted were his daughter and son.
I straight up told the dudes there wouldnt be any street retaliation behind it, even though there might be others that dont feel the same way I do that surround me,” Alfamega told AllHipHop.com “And at the end of the day, its all about what I want to do. And I dont want no street retaliation of violence. Its a new year. And all in a nutshell they didnt know. I would look at it different if they knew they was my children. And I dont wish that upon nobodies children.
