(AllHipHop News) With less than four months to go until his second Atlantic Records album, O.N.I.F.C., hits stores, Taylor Gang’s Wiz Khalifa is revealing collaborators for his follow-up to 2011’s Rolling Papers.
Wiz recently told DJ Whoo Kid, “I’ve got Pharrell on there, he did a beat and a verse, I’ve got Cam’Ron on there. I’ve got Spitta [Curren$y] on there, of course. The Weeknd.”
Wiz also spoke on his vision for the album’s first single, “Work Hard Play Hard,” “It’s just a perfect combination of a club song, a radio song, a friendly song for everybody, and it’s hard. It’s edgy; it doesn’t compromise any of its rap integrity.”
In a recent interview with Life + Times, Warner Bros. recording artist Meek Mill announced that he recently signed a management deal with Roc Nation. “Me coming up in this rap game, I was always an underground artist coming up by myself and making all of the moves by myself,” said Meek. “My manager – he’s just like me, we’ve been coming up in the streets by ourselves. So we just decided to partner up with Roc Nation and take things to another level.”
The news comes a week after Meek Mill revealed at an MMG press conference that his debut album Dreams and Nightmares would be released on August 28. The Philladelphia native also recently dropped his highly-anticipated new mixtape, Dreamchasers 2, to an outstanding response. Meek will perform alongside Rick Ross tonight (May 11) as part of Power 99’s SpringFest concert event in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
Aesop Rock’s sixth solo studio album, Skelethon, will be the MC’s first release in five years, and in support of the long wait, Rock has announced plans to embark on a 22-city tour beginning on July 13 in Los Angeles, California.
Aesop Rock is also set for a performance on May 27 at Rhymesayers Entertainment’s SoundSet Festival, which will take place in Minneapolis. The festival will stop in Vancouver, Atlanta, Dallas, Philadelphia, New York, and other major cities before wrapping up in San Diego, California on August 15.
