(AllHipHop News) In the second installment of Rico Love’s exclusive interview with AllHipHop.com, the producer/rapper discussed his plans for 2014.
New York City’s own 50 Cent reached out to the hit maker to work on a hook for an upcoming song. Rico touched on the new record and how 50’s former rival Fat Joe Rico the blessing to work with the G-Unit General.
“I just did a record with 50 he sent a me a record to do a hook for,” Rico Love told AllHipHop.com. “And obviously I called Fat Joe and got his blessing because Joe is my real friend, my brother, my family. Before I did anything I called him and I think 50 would even respect that. And he’s [Fat Joe] is like ‘nah its love there aint no problem with 50, do your thing.’ That’s just how I get down.”
Rico Love described his new record as being a “party record” that will help people celebrate life and have a good time.
“It’s party record, it’s about celebrating life and having a good time,” Rico Love explained. “50 actually wrote the hook to it and sent it to me. I put my spin on it, it was really dope.”
The origin of the disputed stemmed from Stoute’s sensational claims that 50 Cent was no longer relevant to Hip-Hop in recent interviews with New York radio stations, because of his lack of hit records being aired.
(Editor’s note: the interview was conducted prior to Steve Stoute’s comments.)
“50 is one of those guys you can’t discredit,” Rico Love told AllHipHop.com. “You can’t count him out, he’s done so much to affect pop culture in a way that you can’t deny.”
Rico Love is planning to release his debut EP Discrete Luxury on April 8.
