(AllHipHop News) “Gangster’s Paradise” rapper Coolio was recently charged with one felony count of possession of a firearm by a felon.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the charge stems from a September 17 incident at LAX in which the West Coast artist was busted with a loaded, stolen firearm by security.

One of the men in Coolio’s entourage initially attempted to claim responsibility for the weapon, but it was quickly discovered the gun was really Coolio’s, reports say.

The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office indicated that Coolio also has previous convictions in 2001 and 2009 of carrying a concealed weapon in a vehicle and drug possession.

Additionally, if found guilty of the charges the rapper could be handed a sentence of up to three years in state prison.
