(AllHipHop News) Today (December 13), Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter announced Desiree Perez as the Chief Executive Officer of Roc Nation. Perez is a co-founder of Roc Nation and served as the agency’s COO since 2009.
In her new role as CEO, Perez will lead development and growth across all aspects of Roc Nation including music, management, publishing, touring, TV/film, and philanthropy. The company’s philanthropic department partners with organizations such as the Shawn Carter Foundation, the Cara Lionel Foundation, the RC24 Foundation, the REFORM Alliance, and Team Roc.
Roc Nation is the current record label home for Jay-Z, J. Cole, Jaden Smith, Rapsody, Rihanna, Vic Mensa, Willow Smith, and more. The entertainment powerhouse also manages acts like Big Sean, DJ Khaled, Fabolous, Fat Joe, Jim Jones, Lil Uzi Vert, Mariah Carey, Meek Mill, Megan Thee Stallion, Miguel, Robin Thicke, Shakira, Tinashe, and Yo Gotti.
Previously named Roc Nation CEO, Jay Brown, is now serving as Vice Chairman of the New York City-based business. Brown presented Desiree Perez with the “Executive of the Year Award” at Billboard‘s 2019 Women In Music event on Thursday night.
