Kanye West Files Nine Trademark Applications For Phrase Inspired By His Wife

According to DailyMail, the phrase will be used as a slogan to launch a wide range of products and services, including moisturizers, “biological cloning” and plush toys.

Kanye West reportedly filed to trademark a phrase inspired by his new wife, Bianca Censori, on January 11. According to DailyMail, the phrase will be used as a slogan to launch a wide range of products and services, including moisturizers, “biological cloning” and plush toys. And the phrase? West filed nine separate trademark applications for: “I MISS YOU WHEN I WAKE UP BEFORE YOU.”

The goods and services listed in the applications range from technology and science to fashion. More specifically, exploration services in the field of the oil, gas and mining industries is listed as well as chemical research, meteorological research, map drawing, dress design and a life-size inflatable dummy with water-filled base.

West’s lawyer, Gregory K. Nelson, confirmed that he filed the applications on behalf of the same company he’s used to file trademarks in the past, Ox Paha, Inc. The trademark application has been accepted by the United States Patent and Trademark Office but has yet to be assigned to an examiner.

West recently shared the phrase on Instagram, using it to caption a photo of Censori, an architectural designer, who was celebrating her 29th birthday earlier this month. The Grammy Award winner owns a number of trademarks, including his name, several of his nicknames and his YEEZY brand. He even filed a trademark application for 2020VISION after announcing he would run for president in the run-up to the 2020 election.

West sparked outrage last year when he claimed he “loved” Hitler and denied the Holocaust was real. adidas, Gap and Def Jam Records distanced themselves from him, while his honorary alma mater, the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, rescinded his doctorate. West issued a half-baked apology via social media last month and apparently has a 40-minute video with more of his regrets coming before his next album, Vultures.
