(AllHipHop News) Mary J. Blige’s 25-year career has included the entertainer winning 9 Grammy Awards, 7 NAACP Image Awards, 6 Soul Train Music Awards, 4 American Music Awards, and 4 BET Awards. Her role in Netflix’s Mudbound is also garnering consideration for an Academy Award nomination.

At Thursday night’s Women In Music ceremony, Billboard honored MJB by presenting her with the Icon Award. Empire actress Taraji P. Henson introduced the Queen Of Hip Hop Soul at the event.

“When people look up to me, I want them to see my life and have it reflect theirs and understand that if I can make it through everything that I’ve made it through and still making it through, you can do it as well,” Blige told the audience after accepting her award.

The R&B legend has released 13 albums, including the classic 1992 LP What’s The 411? and 2017’s Strength Of A Woman. Her discography features 6 Top 10 singles on the Hot 100. The Dr. Dre-produced “Family Affair” peaked at #1 on the Billboard chart in 2001.
