Rapper/actress
Queen Latifah will be the keynote speaker at this year’s Simmons School of
Management leadership conference. The
28th annual event, which takes place May 5 at the Seaport World Trade Center in
Boston, MA, will include skill-building workshops and educational sessions.In
addition to the keynote addresses from Latifah, CNN chief international correspondent
Christiane Amanpour, former First Lady of Mexico Marta Sahagún de Fox and
Yue-Sai Kan, a noted entrepreneur, author, journalist and humanitarian will also
speak. The
Simmons School of Management is a leading center that offers a center for gender
in organizations as well an MBA program and programs in entrepreneurship initiative,
executive education, undergraduate management for women MBA and undergraduate
students. Started
in 1979 by a small group of Simmons School of Management alumnae, the leadership
conference is a networking event that supports women who want to pursue graduate
education in business. It
is expected to draw some 2,500 professional women attendees. Former
keynote speakers include Oprah Winfrey, Madeleine Albright, Maya Angelou, Alfre
Woodard, Whoopi Goldberg, Katie Couric and Soledad O’Brien.
