Drake, Timberland & Boot Wars: OVO Gets Cold

Drake and boots—two words I never thought I’d put together for investigative purposes, but here we are. I actually did research this time. I know, I know. Miracles happen every day, B.

I heard/saw a rumor. And I thought it was hilarious that Drake was allegedly cooking up his very own line of premium boots. Naturally, my mind raced to one horrifying thought: was Drake about to drop his own version of Lugz? That Birdman energy? Would the boy dare? OH BOY! The thoughts that ran through my deranged mind!

The ad I stumbled across had big boot energy: bold, rugged, but also slightly pretentious. I am just being honest. That OVO owl was perched on the tongue of that boot like it belonged in a snowstorm commercial. I thought, “Is Aubrey about to go toe-to-toe with Timberland?” Honestly, that’s something Drake might try. He gave us scented candles, a Harry Potter necklace, and a poetry book – why not?

But then, I did my Googles: that’s not what’s happening.

Turns out, the boot game move is actually a collaboration. Drake isn’t going against the grain. He’s partnering with Timberland to make OVO-branded boots. Now that makes sense. I am sure this Drake x Timbs mash-up has hypebeasts foaming at the mouth.

Would I wear them? Nah. Respectfully, as a loyal East Coast boot connoisseur, I’m sticking to the OG yellow butters. No owls and no deviations. Unless it says AllHipHop on the side, I’m not interested.

And even this looks crazy. AI sucks!

In the frozen tundras of Canada, these boots might hit different. And honestly, I’m not mad at it. I just don’t want to see Drake singing about heartbreak while lacing up his OVO Timbs.

And let’s not forget the ghost of Birdman past! Bro practically brought Lugz into rap history. Those alternative boots were the budget blessings for many a hustler! If Birdman and Drake hadteamed up for some Lugz 2.0 collab, I might’ve lost it.
